In my opinion, "Hotel California" is not the song that you should cover, even if you're good enough at doing covers and stuff.

I am not a big fan of this genre, but it isn't that bad. I feel as if the keystrokes overwhelmed the rest of the track. The voice is very modern and feels nice, more of a 1975 type feel. Not that bad, might sample a few things from this.

This song has a Grammy and stands at the top of many "All Time Blah-Blah" billboards. That's enough for me to say that you can't make a cover which would be better than the original, so 8/10 seems like a reasonable score.

I agree but then again theres doing a cover of Hotel California in its current genre and then turning it into a spanish/flamenco song as did the Gipsy Kings, which kinda changes the situation. I would only give the original song one more point than your 8/10, so you were highly generous all the same.
