In Florida there are two types of misdemeanors, first degree and second degree. A second degree misdemeanor is defined as any criminal offense that carries penalties of no more than 60 days in jail, a $500 fine, or six months probation. Although, in terms of maximum penalties, second degree misdemeanors are less serious than other criminal charges, they can nonetheless have devastating and unintended consequences for your future.

Common examples of second degree misdemeanors in Florida include:

  • Simple Assault
  • Petit Theft
  • Driving on a Suspended License with Knowledge
  • Attaching Tag Not Assigned

  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Disorderly Intoxication

What is a First Degree Misdemeanor?

In Florida, a first degree misdemeanor is defined as any criminal offense that carries a maximum penalty of up to one year in jail, 12 months probation, and up to a $1,000 fine. Although, when compared to felony offenses, first degree misdemeanors carry lesser penalties, they can nonetheless have devastating consequences for your immediate and long-term future.

Common examples of first degree misdemeanors in Florida include:

  • Possession of Cannabis (Less than 20 Grams)

Were you really an attorney? O.o

Hehe no, not for real. Just a gal, with a vivid imagination, and a bit too full of book smarts.

I'm hiring this for an attorney, cuz if someone is killed in front of me and I'm the target next, I rather kill them before I'm killed. That's my idea of self-defense.

I'll probably be calling as well. How well do you handle cases involving.... "highly suggested money reallocation" against banks and people?

The number is a 555 number, which is reserved for hollywood hehe.

I didn't want to put a real phone up there cause people would likely call it.

Aspiebear - we all have generous relatives that leave us money in their wills. Sometimes it's enough to buy yourself a small car wash that will help clean your car up for you while making a few extra bucks on the side. Call my paralegal, we'll get you set up.

I may want to hire you in the future, but I have a question.

Can you represent a collective as well as the individual?

Depending on what you are willing to represent, I may use your services as my primary legal source.

Everything we do is legal. That's the beauty of being a lawyer. There's always loopholes.

It depends on the collective. Class action cases can be quite lucrative. They would require a bit more overhead. It also depends on the case really.
