Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Hello all fellow officers, I just wanted to bring up the amount of people running for political offices, who's elected really effects us including funding, gear, pay, and laws. I would love to see people running for office to come here and pitch to us along with the citizens. I know we all have very important questions and the ones running for office should come to us for their election pitch along with questions from us. As public servants our pay isn't bumped by business kick backs and such, we generally never get a bonus, and our hours are long dangerous and hard. Speak up fellow officers and let these incoming politicians know me won't be silent. Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Hello Thomas, I have a few questions for you along with some suggestions that you might consider, but first the questions. In case of a huge increase of crime would private security companies be considered? If Elected would you request a police escort? How would you determine who becomes the police chief/would their be a vote? What are you're views on low level drug crimes? Also wouldn't a fluctuating tax rate be better then a solid 30%? Crime is low or down why fund the same amount? Posted January 31, 2017 I am a CEO of a private sec company so yes I encourage it and hope they will cooperate with the police force that is more important to me. I think that there should be a service that protects government officials. It is important to have a vote to see who would be a police chief or commissioner should be determined by democracy. I think that on low level drug crimes should be petty crimes and not be put on a criminal record the first time but the second they will have a felony. I will look into that but for now I will look at the gear that is needed and that will be useful right away and we will buy that. But I think better weapons are necessary in case of a criminal shooting at you guys and he has a bullet proof vest and you don't have the right weapons. And I will leave have a set salary for $90,000 per year for traffic cop. That is the lowest rank so the pay will get higher from there. Posted January 31, 2017 Not in the police force, if people hire my company for private property security or they just want private security then they will pay for it. To make a police force stronger then I will work with other officials to find a way to make this a way to make the force stronger. Adding it would take too much money and we don't know if the company had some criminal moles working for it. I will with my company do extensive background checks if I am not elected because if I win I will sign over ownership but still hold most of the shares. In my opinion, I think you'd be a great moderator if we ever had some kind of debate between the candidates for Governor!
