Bobby Cruz, Candidate for Governor

Recommended Posts

Hello to all of you at the Police Precinct!

I wanted to stop by and quickly introduce myself to you. My name is Bobby Cruz and I am running for Governor. Law enforcement is one of the most important aspects of our society and is the key to it running smoothly and safely. I want you to know that I appreciate what each and every one of you do on a daily basis for our community.

I would love your input on how our campaign can improve in supporting you. Here are some questions I'd like to pose to all of you:

What percentage of tax do you feel is sufficient for you to run an efficient, quality and successful police force?
and
What kind of gun control laws would you like to see implemented in our society that would best decrease the amount of violent crime?

Thank you all for your time! Please feel free to visit my campaign home, linked below, and ask me any questions!

All the best,
Bobby Cruz

Hello Mr. Cruz! First of all I just want to extend a warm welcome to you, and express my appreciation for reaching out to the boys in blue.

I would have to further consider the taxes question and get back to you later, however I believe that gun laws should require a citizen to go through strict background checks and gun training / safety training so that we can assure the safety of those on the streets and in our homes. I do believe that citizens should be allowed access to guns, as at times it will be their only line of defense.

Thanks again for reaching out and good luck on the trail!

Sporan, thank you for the warm welcome and kind words!

Please take your time to think and discuss with your colleagues about taxes. I understand that this is an extremely important decision and I want to make sure that, if elected, our police force is being funded correctly.

I agree with your opinion on guns. Guns will be difficult to obtain and those who do will have to undergo strict background checks, intensive training programs as well as psychiatric analyses. However, it will not be impossible, and those who wish to own a gun will be able to as long as they are willing to go through the process.

Again, if you or anyone else have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

All the best,
Bobby Cruz

Hello Mr. Cruz,

I want to wish you the best of luck in running for Governor and I really like that you reached out to the police force for opinions and ideas. So regarding the tax rate I think that is something that may change quarter to quarter depending on the needs of the police. When crime is down the funds being sent to the police should be lower, opposite when crime is on the rise. The chief of police should request the funds from the governor and then the conversation starts regarding whats being asked for. As for the gun control I agree with Sporan but to add strong restrictions/checks on gun shop owners because who knows guns could be sold back door at a huge profit to avoid checks.

Just some Questions for yourself:

In case of a huge increase of crime would private security companies be considered?

If Elected would you request a police escort?

How would you determine who becomes the police chief/would their be a vote?

What are you're views on low level drug crimes?

Thank you for you're time Mr. Cruz

Great to meet you Kracken! Thank you for reaching out to me to voice your opinions and ask these questions.

Your idea on a fluctuating tax rate is very interesting and something I want to seriously consider. Having a solid relationship with the police force and police chief so that we can have conversations about what the police force needs quarter to quarter is a fantastic idea. I'm glad you are in agreement with us about gun control and I think that's a great point on bringing up restrictions and checks on gun shop owners to make sure there is no backdoor illegal selling. That's something we would definitely want to implement.

To answer your questions:

In case of a huge increase of crime would private security companies be considered?
If crime became a serious and impending problem in the community and crime rate was very high, I would not be against contracting private security companies to assist the police force.

If elected would you request a police escort?
As of right now, I will not be requesting a police escort. Perhaps during large, community-wide events and special occasions, but as far as daily transportation, I don't think it will be necessary. If there is a threat to my safety or the safety of my team, I will not be hesitant in requesting one.

How would you determine who becomes the police chief/would their be a vote?
I love the idea of an election and voting process for police chief. In the beginning, one may need to be appointed depending on how the timing works out. However, rather than having me appoint each chief, I think letting the community decide is a much better and more inclusive alternative.

What are your views on low level drug crimes?
I imagine by "low level drug crimes" you mean crimes such as possession and possibly selling certain illegal drugs. This is a tricky one. However, I think a classification system of drugs could help us solve this question. If a drug is classified as extremely dangerous to society and one's health, then punishment will be more severe than somebody selling a drug that falls under a lower classification. I'm a big believer in rehabilitation rather than incarceration.
Say we have an individual charged with selling their old prescription drugs. Instead of throwing them in a prison which takes up space and potentially surrounds them with much more dangerous criminals, having them do things like volunteer work, taking classes on how breaking the law can affect the community, and talking to people who have had past problems with addiction, in my opinion, is a much more effective method.

Thank you again for taking the time to answer the questions that I have for the Police Precinct as well as asking your own. I truly appreciate this interaction and I am looking forward to building a great relationship with our police force!

All the best,
Bobby Cruz

@BobbyCruz

Hello Mr. Cruz,

I actually have a few more questions for yourself if you don't mind.

Would tax rates go down when spending is down?

Would you ever consider building your staff before launch so we all know who will be under power?

How would you incorporate the police and local businesses together to assist each other?

Whats the hourly pay for police?

I have seen and read you're campaign message and I really like what I have seen

I don't mind at all. These are great questions. I really appreciate your support Kracken!

Would tax rates go down when spending is down?
This is something that could go along with your idea of fluctuating tax rates! Generally tax rates are fixed, but as said before, I am open to the idea of fluctuating tax rates, especially when certain economic factors like spending, consumption, etc, is high or low.

Would you ever consider building your staff before launch so we all know who will be under power?
I would actually like this to happen. Once the election process gets confirmed, I will actively be looking for members to immediately join the Governor's Cabinet, which will consist of a group of tight-knit and trusted individuals that will directly advise the Governor and assist with decisions. I will also open applications for those who would like to join any of our several committees as outlined in my campaign home page.

How would you incorporate the police and local businesses together to assist each other?
Relationships between local businesses and the police are important for a community to run efficiently. If the police force have the trust of business owners, they will be more willing to assist the police force, whether that be in small ways such as offering discounts for police officers or hosting events for the police Precinct as well as larger ways such as generous donations to the police force. Business owners need to know that the police force is dedicated to the safety of our community and that includes our local businesses.

Whats the hourly pay for police?
This is another thing, just like the policies and laws, that is hard to say until it is confirmed how much control the government will have in the game and what will already be established. Ideally, I'd like police officers starting wage to be $26 to $35 per hour, or about $50k to $60k a year, and increase as they gain more experience and receive promotions

I hope I have answered your questions sufficiently! Thanks again Kracken!

All the best,
Bobby Cruz
