No you cannot work or own a gas station as it will be impractical.

How is it impractical? It would add immersion because you would have to get gas to continue driving. You could buy snacks or drinks from it. It would add another thing for delivery men to deliver. ie Lays potato chip shipment going to a gas station.

I'd totally want to work at an in game gas station. But I understand it would be impractical for most people.

It would be too easy for the person to fuck around just because they can and no one could use the gas station. Or just not show up for work.

I was like "How the fuck would this be a problem?" Then you pretty much changed my perspective. It'd make gas station attendants super powerful.

And before anyone says "They could fill it up themselves."

They still have to pay. He could refuse to take the money and then get them arrested for not paying.

Well, it could theroritcaly be solved just by replacing the non present gas station worker with an automated NPC, or if they go idle/not do the task if they don't do it within a time limit. but that can get complicated. Also break immersion to see them replaced.

Competition can solve this, I don't see any problem with owning a gas station. However we have a police to address issues like that or we can just have the owner without any employees.

The issue could be resolved by providing players with the ability to submit the currency through an ATM-like machine rather than remaining dependent on the player to attain the wealth. I.E. the owner or an employee of a gas station is unavailable at 2:30AM. Thus, the consumer purchases gas from a machine, identical to a vending machine.

I like the concept of Gas Stations. It'd add immersion and you could make it NPC only, kinda like their plans for gun shops. But having to keep your vehicle gassed up would add realism and also make it harder for criminals to endlessly evade Police.

You have to fuel your car every so often. It is a realistic Life game.

Honestly gas stations are a yes for me, for one, you can work in them and it's a fairly easy job, two, you need gas stations for a real life game, and three, long police chases would be non-existent!

Simply because developers do not want to include jobs where you have to stay behind a desk or a counter without moving all day.
There is no interest in this, and the player would get tired very quickly.
This kind of job will be either automatic or held by an NPC  :-)

btw there are people that can do these jobs,i have not problem to stay behind a desk,other people cant. its a not a good solution to not add these kind of jobs because because some people cant stay behind the desk.This kind of games jobs is the thing that make the game alive and the rp too.More jobs=better. We cant do all the kind of jobs, but we should have variety to choose the job that we like in this game. cant find any good reason not to add gas station ownership,or casino or bar,just dissapointed. and i really wish in private servers be available to buy gas station,bar,casino and other shops.

I just give the reason for the choice they made

I agree that it would add in roleplay, for example, give the opportunity to practice these jobs (in gas station), replacing them with an NPC when there is nobody.
 

For the bar and the casino it's another thing in my opinion:
- For the bar, we should rent a building already provided for this purpose, and it would make the job limited (because as the player can not build and place a building himself, it will be the race to the one who will rent first the few building provided for this purpose (it makes sense that there will not be 15 or 30 bar per street ..) .. Even if it does a very bad job or almost never connects) .

I would find it very unfair for many players. But nothing says that it will not change in the future !

- For the casinos: It would be necessary that the player arrives to just rent or to buy the casino .. what would be possible only for very rare people (Browsing the forum, I really feel that the people do not realize of what means "same price as for the RL" and the difficulty to make money, many think to make several thousands in a few days .. They will soon disappointed, for me.

And there are surely many other valid reasons that I do not mention.

 

I also want the game to be as realistic as possible, but I think some things would only hurt the game and the pleasure of playing.

'cause even if the game is realistic and role-play, not all players will play rp unfortunately, and there will be a lot of abuse. (according to me)

 

In any case, we only check the shops and others when the complete release of the game, and nothing says that there will be no changes

etc you buy a gas station when you go offline automatically npc added or you can hire employees to work to the gas station.its not fair if they will not add these features because its an important part of the rp to buy and rent,it not exactly a race because if you buy a bar that doesnt mean that you will have it for ever, something can happen and you will have to sale it to another person. its not gonna be 15 bars in the city of course but 4-5 its a nice number of night clubs. you will not join as a millionaire in the game.but as i said i really hope all these that we cant do in official servers (break in house,buy gas station,casino,bars,loot bodies,etc.) to have the ability to do all of them in private servers of course admin decides to enable them or disable them. hope that Asylum entertainment will respect private servers.
