Posted December 3, 2016 So I absolutely love the idea of this game, and am immensely excited to see it develop. Me and my friend, who showed me this game, are eagerly talking of our future business and partner in crime endeavors. I really want to pre-order, to support development and get beta access, but I am very skeptical that they will ever finish the game, finish it in a very long time, or not live up to the expectations (E.G, No Man's Sky). I find it doubtful that a game of the proportions and game world of GTA, with mechanics of Euro Truck Simulator, Arma III, and Payday II, and so many more, will be able to be completed by a relatively small team with a quarter million dollar budget within a reasonable time period. They are going above and beyond the content and mechanics of major triple AAA games that have had massive budgets, and they have only a fraction of the team and budget. Luckily they don't have to worry about intelligent AI, other than wildlife, so that helps a bit I guess. They have made good progress, yes, although they have only completed housing and basic mechanics, in 2 years, which is absolutely a tiny chunk of the entire game. I wish there was more progress. Like I said, I really want this game to work out. But I just am very skeptical of investing any money. My biggest concern is their funding, that development will continue for a few years, then they'll run out of money and the project is abandoned. Is there any proof or evidence that they are funded by wealthy private investors or publishers to as much as they need? With enough money, any project can become a reality. Posted December 3, 2016 Hey Timblegoorn, I completely understand your concern (I've gone through similar thoughts). The reason they have completed housing before anything else is because they are trying to push the release of the module quickly, and housing is one of the MAJOR points in it. They are working on other aspects of the game, but this one was a priority for the time being. As for the worry about the money, a while ago they sent out a tweet saying that they were going to partner with a company, but they were very vague. Sorry for the long paragraph but I hope this helps
Posted December 3, 2016 Hey thanks for the reply! There's just too many tales of failed early access, incomplete released games, and devs who simply grab the cash and leave. What I've seen is promising, I just hope it continues this way! I saw the reference that they had from partnering with a company but I wasn't sure if there was any more news on it. Anyways, I'll think about it. Is the $30 closed beta access for the modules? And after the modules are finished, does that mean that the game will be fully released or will they spend several more months or a year after that to finish it? When you buy 30$ bundle, you have acces to all modules, beta etc After the modules are finished, closed beta starts.

The developers who are creating this game are not only developing it for us as its our dream game but they are developing it for them as it's also their dream game too and so are as excited to see it becoming more and more a reality with the passion of their imagination a game they want. The thing about the publishers that they said about on twitter, is that the publishers approached them and also they declined them because the publishers wanted like 90% control over the game and development, meaning all that the developers desires to what they want the game to have like the content would vastly be changed. So I think they made the absolute right choice, because if it was not a passion of theirs then they would have taken the deal and the game would no longer be as its visioned as the publishers would push out the release as they are money grabbers and don't care. Posted December 3, 2016 Your best bet is to wait until the first module is released and waiting for gameplay. Then, decide if you want it from the gameplay.
Posted February 17, 2017 This is quite a while later, but just wanted to say that in a recent developer Q&A my fears were reassured and I am officially a citizen of Identity Looking forward to the first module!
Posted February 17, 2017 It's more than reasonable to be skeptical. Who knows what can happen but this is what I think will happen. As soon as Town Square is released we actually have a small portion of the game and how it really is going to work. I think that will be the turning point and I personally think its going to be awesome and I would hope that other people with a bit more money than your average person would invest in Identity and see it as more of buisness opportunity if that makes sense. The publicity will also increase. The difference I see is that from talking with Motown is that both Motown and Paratus are making the game because they want to and its there like little love child Someone like Rockstar will be making a game to make money. Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) sometimes a child dies no matter how much you love it. i really dont get why some people here think that the first module can prove anything. what do you think the first module will bring to the table? if you expect too much from the first module you could get disappointed Edited February 18, 2017 by PlayerOne

It is not much but it is good enough. Also @PlayerOne technically the 3 modules are alpha stages. So module 1; is Alpha 1, then module 2; Alpha 2, and finally module 3; Alpha 3. Posted February 20, 2017 Is there any indications that the modules will release before the 6th of march? I hope to get this for my birthday, before the price increase preferably. If there is any notation that its coming out beforehand I'll take the opportunity of the discount now. Thank you in advanced.
