  1. Tough choice Police thread

Ive been trying to think now of what to go down, for this thread i will be trying to get all the reasons to become a cop and possibly higher "swat, FBI, etc etc" But yeah any one and every one flood this with perks you think that come with becoming a cop in this, and if there are any downfalls please throw these in here also. This is thread one of two, my second one about the crime family/ mafia is in the hide out thread. Thank you all.
  2. faux cops

i would like the ability to kill a cop take his keys , his car and his outfit and be able to ticket people who think im a cop
  3. Hey guys I did a breakdown of the new trailer/gameplay video and I'm sure I've caught some things you might've missed! Check it out here:
  4. A place to get to know other Officers

I think all of the police officers should start communicating. Maybe weekly meetings to discuss issues that may arise while on duty. This thread should be a place where we all get to know each other and actually build a police force. The more we know each other, the more we'll be able to stomp out corruption and most importantly, keep the citizens safe. If you believe in taking this role seriously and you really want to see an actual police unit then just drop a line here and let's get to know each other.
  5. Tactical Gear

Hello Dev Team, Does Identity have Tactical Gear for our Characters like: Headsets, Helmets, NV Goggles, Eyepatches etc.? and if yes, are the cop/swat uniforms the same or customizable? Also a nice detail would be when the swat unit uses zip ties instead of handcuffs like normal cops.
  6. Prison Breaks

Hey! Im pretty new to this game and i can't imagine how many times you have got this as a suggestion, but being able to break out of prison would be amazing and a fun thing to do. If 1 person in my gang is in prison, why not break himk out of there with som kind of heist? This would allow for longer sentences in jail. You will also have to be smart and have a high IQ to acctually come up with a great master plan to escape. Thanks for reading. - Tobbetobster
  7. Will there be State Troopers, State Police, City Police and Sheriff or just one massive department for the whole map? Wouldnt it be cool to have like Park Rangers and Search And Rescue units?
  8. BAR OWNER!!

I wanna own a pub and drink some beers with both the Cops and the Crime Lords!! Maybe have your crime meetings in the back room and invite people for a beer and assassinate them... it would be pretty bad ass to have everyone stop by.
  9. I am writing to you on this forum to announce to you that I'm running for governor. I'm also asking for the support or consideration from the members of the police force of the great island of identity. I will tell you a little bit about myself and some of my policies and open it up for questions. I will start off by saying I have the utmost respect for the men and women in uniform. My uncle for whom I'm very close to is a police officer and talks about some of the things he has to do/go through. I know that this is going to be in a game but nevertheless your job will not be easy and I understand that. Here's some of the things that I will propose to hopefully make it easier for the officer's on the line of duty. First I will designate a portion of the tax dollars to go to the police force so you guys can have the best equipment and vehicles etc. Maybe 10-20% in that area. The next thing that I will do is set up a bonus program for officers who are doing good and are on the force for a long time. This will be a thank you for your service type of thing. One policy that I want to make clear is that NO and absolutely NO hate crimes towards cops will be tolerated. These will be met with swift justice and may bring with it the ultimate penalty. The same can be said for you guys (the cops) please don't abuse your power which i'm sure you won't. Cops I'm with you all the way and understand that we need you guys. I will personally not ask for escorts from you guys because lets be honest here, you guys probably have a lot of better things to do. As far as training goes and what not I'm not very experienced in that area but I would like to at some point get together experienced instructors to generate a standard operating procedure and training program. This is a way to better you guys and make you the best police force of all the servers on identity. Suggestions/Questions? Please ask and I will try to respond to the best of my ability. Note: Since the game isn't out there is no promises due to the possible limitations that we don't know about yet.
  10. Just wondering if there will be tasers in the game and if cops will need search warrants to search an RV for example or hideouts.
  11. Law Enforcement Ideas & Suggestions

My ideas and suggestions for Law Enforcement in the game By @Indoorseeker If you have any questions please ask Outline 1 Mission, Vision, Core Values, Code of Ethics 2 Hiring Process 3 Hierarchy and Rank 4 Organizational Chart 5 Real life levels of Law Enforcement in the United States 6 In Game levels of Law Enforcement 7 Real life population ratios versus In Game population ratios 8 Law Enforcement Presence 9 Duties and functions 10 Tools, Gear, Equipment, Uniforms, Vehicles 1 Law Enforcement Mission, Vision, Core Values, Code of Ethics These are important for any real law enforcement agency to have as these items are often the foundation of what makes your agency and what your agency strives for. (Example) Mission Our mission is to safeguard the lives, rights and property of the people we serve; to reduce the incidence and fear of crime; and to enhance public safety while working with our community to improve their quality of life. Vision It is our vision to make our community one of the safest and most enjoyable places to live and to be a leader in public safety. Core Values Professionalism, Honor, Integrity, Courage, Excellence Law Enforcement Code of Ethics As a Law Enforcement Officer, my fundamental duty is to serve mankind; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional rights of all men to liberty, equality and justice. I will keep my private life unsullied as an example to all; maintain courageous calm in the face of danger, scorn, or ridicule; develop self-restraint; and be constantly mindful of the welfare of others. Honest in thought and deed in both my personal and official life, I will be exemplary in obeying the laws of the land and the regulations of my department. Whatever I see or hear of a confidential nature or that is confided to me in my official capacity will be kept ever secret unless revelation is necessary in the performance of my duty. I will never act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices, animosities or friendships to influence my decisions. With no compromise for crime and with relentless prosecution of criminals, I will enforce the law courteously and appropriately without fear or favor, malice or ill will, never employing unnecessary force or violence and never accepting gratuities. I recognize the badge of my office as a symbol of public faith, and I accept it as a public trust to be held so long as I am true to the ethics of the police service. I will constantly strive to achieve these objectives and ideals, dedicating myself before God* to my chosen profession...law enforcement. *footnote... individuals not obligated or required to mention God in their oath if they choose. 2 The Hiring Process In real life a person applying and testing to become a police officer will usually go through the following steps: apply to agency, participate in written and physical test, your application good scores will help place you on the agency candidate list, agency conducts oral board interview, one on one interview, background check, psychological test, doctors physical, final interview and official offer of employment. After the offer of employment the person would go into a probationary period of employment and start training with in the agency and then go to an academy usually within the first 6 months of hire. To my knowledge, game creators have said that there will be an application process that is a quiz and/or test that players will be required to take and that will determine if they can become a law enforcement officer or not. This quiz and/or test will be an automatic function on official servers to my understanding. 3 Hierarchy and Rank It is my suggestion and recommendation that the law enforcement agency on the game identity be the Sheriff's Office. I will explain more later. Sheriff Under sheriff Major Captain Sergeant Corporal Deputy Recruit 4 Organizational Chart Please refer to the attached image LE ORGANIZATIONAL CHART below 5 Real life levels of Law Enforcement in the United States Federal- federal agencies police all over the nation and usually respond at the request of state, local, and municipal agencies. State- the state police or state patrol polices the entire state, mainly on highways. County- the sheriff's office polices in all areas of the county, especially unincorporated cities and towns. Municipal - a police department polices in an incorporated city. 6 In Game levels of Law Enforcement As seen suggested on the forum, the population capacity on official servers is hoped to be about 300 players. Realistically for the game, it would be best to have one law enforcement agency that operates in order to save time, resources, and server space. I am suggesting it be a Sheriff's Office because Municipal Agencies in real life only patrol with in the city limits of the incorporated city they are based in. The county sheriff's office patrols all areas of the county, incorporated or not. And when you have a county who's population is really small, similar to the 300 player capacity in the game, it would be the sheriff's office that is the law enforcement presence in the area. You would not see a police department until a city was large enough to become incorporated. Also, the sheriff in real life is an elected official as well as a sworn in law enforcement officer. If this part was implemented into the game, it could provide an interesting feature to the game and role play environment. 7 Real life population ratios versus In Game population ratios In real life, according to FBI statistics, the average ratio of law enforcement officers to the general population is about 2 officers for every 1,000 people. So realistically, 300 people would only require one officer technically, but for role play and immersion there will be more people playing as police officers. I would recommend not going more than 10 % or 30 officers on a server. The other thing to think about is that Law Enforcement agencies are paid with tax payer money. Taxes are collected and a portion is reserved to pay for public safety and law enforcement wages. So if the official server is implemented to be as realistic as possible, the island government may not even have enough funds to pay for a lot of law enforcement officers. 8 Law Enforcement Presence In real life, on a shift, police generally break up their patrol area into different sections. This is especially true for a sheriff's office that covers a lot of square miles. Each section is assigned an officer or officers that will patrol that area or section for the duration of their shift. In scenarios where there is a request for additional officers to assist or an emergency dictates more officers, officers in that area or from different sections will respond to meet the need of the scenario. Not everyone would respond all at once, depending on the emergency or situation, but if a request is made or needed, 1 or 2 other officers will break off from their normal patrol and go to where the officer is needed to assist. 9 Duties and functions It is the duty of law enforcement to protect and serve. Both protecting and enforcing the law as well as protecting the individual lives, rights and property of the people they serve. The primary force of law enforcement is on the road. Thus a Patrol Division. The presence of officers on the road and the best coverage on the road is the best deterrent of crime and the fear of crime. The secondary force would be corrections. From small to large counties, the sheriff's office is responsible for the county jail and the smallest of agencies do not separate Sheriff's Deputies and Corrections Officers. For the purpose of the game, it would be best to train and use officers to fulfill the role and function of both Deputies on the road and Deputies in corrections. The third and forth force, investigations and special operations in the largest of agencies will have their own divisions but not always full time. The majority of agencies use already existing officers to fulfill the role of Special Weapons And Tactics. For the purpose of the game, normal officers can be used to fulfill the roles and duties of detectives, swat, air support, drug task force, gang task force, etc as they are needed when situations arise. The best use of resources is to have an officer that has multiple functions and can perform multiple types of tasks and responsibilities. 10 Tools, Gear, Equipment, Uniforms, Vehicles In real life this includes Duty belt Ballistic vest Vest carrier Holsters Firearms, pistol, rifle, shotgun Tasers Flashlights Baton Handcuffs Magazines Radio equipment OC/Pepper Spray Uniform and additional things like coats, etc. Gear bag First Aid Riot Gear Police Barriers Police Vehicle I am really interested to see an in depth customization of uniforms and equipment in the game. Please let me know if you have any questions. Family First, Mission Always. Stay Safe.
  12. Tickets/traffic violations like if you go past a police officer going fast and or running a red light or a stop sign he can pull you over and ask for you id or maybe insurance (you could all so use insurance if you git in to a car accident or someone steals your car) and he can ticket you or let you go when you git a ticket you go to the court and have to pay it and if you don't you can git a warrant out for your arrest this way the players that want to be officers can have more to do or if an officer see you with a gun out he can pull you over and see if the gun is yours or stolen and if its you he can ticket you for brandishing it would make the ones that want to be officers have more to do and be more realistic I'd like to see this put in the game.
  13. Undercover Cops

Ok, so I don't know if this has already been answered but is there going to be the ability to have undercover cops? If so what does everyone think about that? Good, bad, or do you not care? I'd love to know.
  14. I am kind of confused how the cops will keep track on some illegal activities. I asked some questions about it over twitter but i did not get a for certain answer. I am going to place a scenario and ask how the police will be able to know about the scenario. (For Motown or Paratus) Say a person kills somebody in my group so I take him into a secluded area (Like a swamp) with no witnesses and kill him. If this happens how would the cops know about it?: (Explain the one that is right please) 1. Would they know i am the one who killed him off the bat? 2. Would they just know the general area of where he was killed? 3. Would they not be able to know at all because there were not any witnesses that reported it? 4. Other? The reason why i am asking is because I personally think it would be better if it was choice 2 or 3, because if it is choice 1 then no criminal could actually thrive in the world of identity. It wouldn't really add immersion if the cops get a notification of who committed the crime without having an actual way of knowing that in real life. (It would also get quite boring) Please answer when you have the chance.
  15. Criminal Chop Shops

CHOP SHOPS Just a suggestion, but they should be added. In case anyone needs some knowledge of what this is: What Are Chop Shops? Chop shops are illegal garages that buy stolen cars, disassemble them, and sell their individual parts for profit. To avoid being caught, criminals disassemble a car within hours of stealing it. That way, the owner and the police will never be able to find it. Since they are running an illegal business, the people operating chop shops try to be as inconspicuous as possible. They are hidden away in residential garages and small commercial spaces that do not draw attention. Chop shops rarely work independently; they are usually part of large criminal organizations. Just a suggestion...
