Change in Stream Schedule for Asylum Development Streams (Art Streams)
Beach_Ball posted a topic in The Town Square
Salutations everyone! As we continue to shift focus toward programming, we’ll be removing the Tuesday art stream from our weekly schedule. Our Thursday Asylum Development Hour will remain unchanged, so you can still swing by Thursdays from 4PM – 5PM ET to catch our artists live. Our artists have started hopping into the engine to help fix furniture and apartment related issues that have arisen during the testing phase of Town Square’s final task. For those unaware, the final task necessary for Town Square’s launch involves the integration between the Housing System and our UI. This involves things such as being able to accurately decorate and customize apartment interiors while having our User Interface accurately reflect the proper changes made by the player. The Housing System is one of Identity’s more complex systems, and the artists have been helping where possible. While they lack a background in coding, they’ve become familiar enough with the Unreal Engine that they’re capable of assisting in a few different areas. With this, they’ll be more focused on implementing fixes and making quality of life changes for Town Square rather than working on new assignments. We’re all giving it 110%, and we can’t wait until Town Square releases! -
This is Star Child clothing line. I enjoy designing clothes irl, so I figured I'd specialize in the same thing for Identity. Star Child will be a fairly expensive designer brand, with a focus on creating new ideas, and artistic freedom. Even though I will act as lead designer (being my brand) I would still love other designers work with me. If you work with me, you will come onto the team as a "designer" and must (as the name suggests) design for the brand. Since I can't imagine having many people with the brand in general, you will also be expected to fill other necessary roles for the job (as will I), until the brand is more established. If I find enough people interested in designing, I will create sub-design roles, as I see fit. Pay will be worked out once the game is released, so I have a better idea of how the economy will work. if interested, please reply!

Will there be tagging and spray painting on walls? i believe it was mentioned in one of the streams on town square, If so how will you be able to spray paint and if you can where and how long will it last on the wall till it disappears? Lastly will this be in effect in Town square?

Any more on the painting feature for Town Square? How will it work? Is it essentially MS Paint or will it be a bit more advanced? Will there be filters or effects which you can apply to make paintings more stylish or cohesive? Can you impodt images or is it all done in game? I believe I read somewhere there will be original artworks with the possibility to produce copies or prints? Will originals be obviously original i.e. making them more valuable. Will the Artist need to retain the original to make copies/prints? Can someone open a gallery and sell high end art in game? Will artworks associate the artists name with them? Can Artworks be stolen? (Would love to see some forgeries and an undergroumd market for hot artworks develop in game, criminals targeting the valuable stuff, buying it as assests or providing expensive art as payment). I plan on playing initially as a struggling portrait artist and am working on my back story atm so am very interested in any additional info you guys have. Thanks

Hey there! As we are able to make paintings in the game, I wanted to know if people with drawing tablets have the chance to use them to draw their paintings. If not, I think it would be a cool addition to have, especially if professional digital artists can make paintings for us, thus making more detailed artworks. What do you think?

Logos Hello guys I'm nir4speed and I'm creating free logos for anyone! Requirements You have to credit me for my work in your group I am only doing 1 logo per person Do not ask for ridiculously detailed logos (I'll choose whether to make it detailed or not based on your design decisions) Examples:

Hey guys! I would like to know more about how careers work, mainly business and art careers. Is there any development for business careers such as stockbroker, trader, CEO and store owners. I also want to know more about the art careers. I know painting through a canvas was unveiled in the Identity player housing videos. But can you can build an art store and have your own art studio like Andy Warhol. Also, can you purchase a studio or your own small office. Thanks!

crafting Practical Applications for Using Drugs ingame
Banteel posted a topic in Ideas & Suggestions
I have one idea for the practical use of smoking weed ingame, and using other drugs too. The idea is to add value to an artistic craft after having smoked the weed for being high. Like, you get the weed however you wish. Then, when you smoke it and for example make a painting, as long as the crafting is done within the duration of the high, the painting gains a tag that says the creator was high on such n such drug, which in turn adds either a small amount of actual game dynamic value to the original and the painting's prints, along with the social value for having created something artistic while being on whatever drug. This can apply to all drugs and give all artistic creations some game dynamic value to whatever crafted item or musical composition, etc. What do you guys think? Please comment and suggestions. -
Will player created art (books or pictures) be available in all servers?
Phiedrus posted a topic in The Town Square
Hi. Wondering if anyone knows how this will work. I'll focus my question in the official servers, although nothing wrong if you have comments about private ones, either known facts or your thoughts. If I paint a canvas, I can submit the picture it to the art gallery. Usually only one copy (that is, the original one) exists in the entire universe in RL. Seems like it will exist in the server where I painted/submitted it. This makes sense, although it is also a bit limiting, because there could be many people interested in the picture accross all servers. There will be a library too (at the time of writing this post, it is already working in the development side). It will have public domain classics available for everyone. But I can write a book too. Different from pictures, there are usually many copies of a book (I can imagine that, for simplicity, there will be 'infinite' copies of a book). Will player written books be replicated in all servers? -
Hey guys! I made this account like yesterday and these are the ideas I came up with: - First of all, doing bad stuff must be hard. We all know that almost everyone is going to just kill people when they made their character like a minute ago. Your character must be weak without all those training and more police on your butt if they can't catch you in like 5 minutes and not just give up if they lost you. - Going to the gym to be stronger and look fit etc. You can collect gym XP and can unlock like a new form of tricep or something. Each body part should have their own XP bar. Ofcourse your XP should go down after like a month, meaning your slowly going back to your older body. This also should affect how strong you are. - Trusty gamers should get chosen by the creators to report who is cheating. People caught cheating should get banned forever or start from zero. That will piss them fucking off and let them be scared so they can't do that anymore. - Not showing username. I feel like this a stupid idea but also good because it's going to force the gamers to find out who they are and so on. - An App that you can check on your real phone to see who is online in the game. Also all kinds of other stuff in the app similar to Instagram. The app's name should be 'Identified' - Graffiti in the game should be awesome. Under your art must show your username so it can prevent stupid things. It can also be voted to stay or to be removed. - Importing your own 3D model or making models in the game could help the game big time. You can also see wonderful stuff in the art world of the game. Also making your own animations too (like for dancers in the strip club , dance events, creating your own walking style). - Fighting system: You should be weak and don't know much moves besides a basic weak punch. Just like how I find the gyms should be, the same should be with boxing clubs. I really like the UFC game system. Your stamina should go down when you perform a technique so you have to fight carefully. You have to be in a fighting state to fight like a boxer,... - Scrap things like hair growing, having a baby and so on. Little things that don't make sense to me. But I think a character should get hungry and thirsty. So they can perform better. - Realistic money like in the real world. A push to work harder for gamers. - Omg please not a gun shop on every street corner. It should be far away in a hidden place. Carrying a weapon should be visible but you can hide lttle weapons. - Parcour training! - Death: Accidental deaths should let characters wake up in a hospital (if a player shoots you too and you didn't want to fight). By crime, in prison .Back zero when you die is extreme. - Driving: Everyone should behave when they ride. Random speed limiters? on streets. Police should punish you when they see you driving fast or parked wrong. Gas should be optional. - Making your own hairstyles!. You can make different sections of your hair longer, braided, stiff, curly and play with hairpins.

I've heard that many things are able to be edited, but I'm wondering, would I for say, be able to buy a plot of land, and be able to hire workers to build a blueprint I get an architect to make, of a building? Because, that would be extremely awesome, I could have an EPIC custom house, or even my own building! But, I feel that, sorry for the inappropriateness, there would be oddly-shaped, disgusting buildings around... So, maybe it has to be approved first? Also, how cool would the game be, if you could become a mechanic, and make little inventions in a garage or something, and sell the blueprints to people for a wad of cash, and earn 50% of each sale. That would be a game-changer, how cool would it be if someone managed to create a hover-car, and it goes viral?! There could even be stores that can buy the blueprints for items, and sell them! If the game worked like that, I would buy the game twice! Just imagine the possibilities! Custom choppers, boats, etc. Last question concerning Boats, would you be able to find and claim islands in the game, or is that for the later stages? Thanks for reading, and I hoe you have a great time!

Art & Distribution
SamanthaFur posted a question in Tourism <span style='font-size:0.7em'>(Q&A)</span>
I have a question about making/selling art along with who can purchase it. If I make art on one server, can people purchase that from another server? Being that there is a 300 player cap to a server, if there was a specific product I saw in a video of some sort or on a live-stream, would I have to go to the specific server to purchase that item/reproduction, or could I buy it at any vendor from a different server?- 2 replies

I like art irl and think it would be cool not to just paint in game but create sculptures out of wood and stone and sell them to galleries

Does anyone know if art will be able to be imported either as a photo format or .psd or will art have to be fully created in-game? Thank you in advance, Zebra

So as we see in the first gameplay demo there was an art canvas, it would be cool to have layers like in photoshop and other programs , so it be easier to do the coloring. In addition, maybe brush choises if that be possible.

I Don't know if a question like this has been asked. and i know within identity you can take photos and things to hang up in your house. But a question that's been eating away at me is... Can you be a photographer? and get better cameras than just using your in game phone? and upon this topic, Photography is used in both Modeling, and Artistic photography. and i was wondering, Store clothing and things like that, will we have models and photographers to advertise the new items that have been made, such as clothing and accessories? and how do the clothing stores fully work? is it just an NPC? do you get to customize a shop? Can you craft clothing yourself with a sewing machine? If you could i think being a model for clothing brands would be a really interesting Job, and so would being a photographer? because not only with photography you can do model shots, and leisure shots/artistic shots but if there is a news paper for identity it could open up opportunities there for a photographer for the newspaper... There are so many opportunities there. and i think it would be really cool to implement some stuff like this. if newspapers are a thing, will there also be magazines? could you be a writer? write your own magazine, that people could buy, and read to learn about all the good fashion scoops, and best places to buy furniture, and fun activities to do around the city's? Could we write books? that players could read? and if so would we need to go to a publisher first to sell our books? Soo many questions and ideas have just hit me im sorry hahhahaha

I am curious to how in depth the art would be. I seen that you can paint pictures for your homes (shown in clip). I would love to be able to sell art pieces for others to purchase. Making this into a career someone could possibly do. A great way to get the pictures out there is by having Art Galleries that people can make bids on. After so long, The art piece will be sold and given to the new owner. I feel this would be a great way to incorporate peoples skills/talents they have to help those decorate their homes... who want pictures but can't paint...
