  1. To be more specific, there are no less than five different factors that determine sex - chromosomes, genitalia, gonads, hormone profile, and secondary sex characteristics. None of them fall strictly into "male/female" in every single person. The popular conception of sex as a clear binary is a gross oversimplification. I could go into more detail, but frankly I don't get the feeling that actual facts are of interest to most of the people posting their objections in this thread. For those who would genuinely like to learn more, there is always Google or asking nicely. I have to agree that I'm rapidly losing interest in this game because of the community. Community is what makes or breaks an RPG, and no amount of shiny graphics or awesome gameplay can save you from some entitled dudebros who think it's funny to tear everyone else down.
  2. I support this. It's kinda mindblowing to me the devs aren't making all clothing/hairstyles fit on all player models to begin with. It seems like at this point, that should be a given, though I know gamer culture can be slow to let go of its more regressive tendencies. As far as profile options go, even if they stick with just "male" and "female" character models, it wouldn't be too difficult to offer male, female, other, and refer not to disclose as descriptive options. While doubtless some of these charming folks making negative commentary here might get upset, I think they'll find there'd be nothing stopping them from choosing both a male character model and description. Why, they could even choose not to wear dresses, if that's their cup of tea! Of course, some of them might say other players not conforming strictly to binary gender roles breaks their immersion, to which I have a simple reply - get out more.
  3. Long Hair on Guys

I hope the hairstyles simply aren't gender restricted, so any character can have any hairstyle.
  4. Which Cars/ Vehicles Would you like to see?

I'll second all the people who've suggested the Mazda Miata - my dad has one and will not stop telling people that it's "God's Perfect Automobile." I know there are going to be bicycles, but I would love to see specialization within them (road bikes that go extra fast on pavement, but lose maneuverability off-road; bmx bikes that can do tricks; etc). Bike accessories would also be cool, both functional (baskets for the front, racks and panniers for the back) and aesthetic (wheel lights, novelty bells/horns). In addition to more normal bikes, it would be neat to have some more unusual (but not immersion-breaking) types, like tandems and rickshaws/pedicabs. I know the devs want to keep a modern look, and a lot of the players want classic cars, but I think those ideas can still work together. I see classic cars out-and-about frequently enough, even if the vast majority of cars I see are modern models. The secret would be to keep a good balance by limiting the supply. I would suggest the occasional (1-4 times a year) "Classic Car Show" event, where a limited number of classic cars are auctioned off - just a few of each model available per a server. Perhaps to balance things out a little in regard to who can afford them, some can be raffled off with a limit to the number of tickets one person can buy. I think it could be a fun mechanic if some furniture items could be motorized. Obviously, these would not be street-legal, but we do have police in this game, and not all crimes have to be violent or drug related. Just imagine the people speeding away from the cops on their sofas and picnic tables - it happens in real life!
  5. I haven't seen much besides just speculation as to how clothing customization is going to work, but I'd like to give some ideas I think might make clothes highly customizable without being too resource intensive. You could make it so that each base garment has several cuts/hems with different options for each one (different sleeves, necklines, etc). Individualized option could be available for specific types of garment: how long a dress is, how high the waist is and how long the legs are in a pair of pants/shorts, the width and type of the lapels on a suit. This could allow people to start with the same basic item and still make very distinct versions, even if they're using similar colors and textures. I feel like this could really cut down on the ratio of work required for artists vs options available to players, as well, but I admittedly don't know enough about the technical side of things to be sure. I'm sorry if something like this has already been suggest/discussed, search seems to be a little wonky for me. --- The other, related, idea I would like to suggest is the ability to color individual parts of clothing separately from the main thing, i.e. coloring just the side panel on a dress, just one sleeve on a shirt, just the pockets on a jacket, and things like that. I don't know how feasible it would be for the different color/fabric options to include things like sheer fabric or lace pieces, but if possible, I think that could be really neat.
