Magor57 started following Who else plans on being an Police Officer? and How deep will police work actually be?

I am still not decided of what I want to be in Identity. Maybe a cop, maybe a felon, maybe a politician, maybe somebody else, really don't know yet. But I am really interested to know and see how all the Cop thing will work. Back on Amarok, Altis Police Department had private TS channel for officers which was used like a dispatch radio all the time basicaly, was cool. How will cops earn money? By getting some % of someones bounty, or something like that. I want to see probable cause and heavy roleplaying "Sir it was a self defense, he pointed a gun on me". I once talked my self out of a robbery. I talked to a experienced Police officer. He cought me aiming a smg on a lying person. Basicaly, long story short, I told him several things. The person slipped on a banana and at the same time I was showing him a weapon that I found in bushes and which I was gonna take to police, because these guns are dangerous. "Sir I admit that from your point of view, it might have seemed like I aimed my gun at that person, but he fell and I was just showing him the gun and it was just a bad coincidance and at the wrong time, you have to believe me officer". And he roleplayed it like a boss too and let me go with a warning (did not check my 250k boundy yet). Proper roleplay situation I would love to see in Identity

Hiding home: I think it is good to be able to hide home. For example. A crime lord with really big list of crimes should be still able to play and if he is carefoul enough, not be cought... So, for example, let him chill in his mansion so he can run his organization from there and only needs to come out less often, because he could be arrested on the corner. Or another example, A bussiness owner who is a serial killer should be able to run his bussiness from home PC, to perhaps save and earn some huge money, maybe for some corrupt cop to erase his crimelist. The police is THE ONLY ONE WHO SHOULD BE ABLE TO BUY POLICE UNIFORM AND SPECIAL WEAPONS SUCH AS TASERS. Sorry fort caps, but I can't emphasise this enough. Yes, you could wear a police uniform from a corrupted cop, but not buy one. The same with tasers. I played like this on Amarok and Asylum and it was the best setup imo. So yeah, police should have some things only they can wear and use, maybe spike stripes on roads, drug testers and such, yeah, I think that goes without saying That laptop from the trailer, in the police car, is like one of the biggest "wows" for me, so I deffinitely hope they add that. I hope they will implement testing for drugs, would be a fun thing. "Sir, your driving seems rather suspicious. Please step out of the vehicle and submit to a quick drug test, just to be sure and for your own safety." That would be freaking amazing. It is kinda a "kickstarter extended goal" thing, but it would make the game soooo realistic and fun and complicated at the same time for criminals and probably cops too! Exactly this I am talking about in this post. Here, if you should be automaticaly wanted after a crime in the middle of desert Ok let's say you are wandering in the middle of the night outside a city, because you ran out of fuel and u left your car miles away. So then, somone jumps you and with a gun in his hand he tells you to do this and that. But then, he makes a mistake by not checking you for weapons and then even turns his back to you so he can show you where he wants you to go, still a gun in hands. You take out your gun and kill him in self defense. Police somehow get the info and you become wanted for murder. So let's apply what you wrote. WHY you did it is not important What is important is that you infact did it. So police comes and without a court you get thrown into jail. You happy? Elaborate on this - how would you solve this problem? Well it's not a problem at all, it was self defense, a rightful killing that you can't be sentenced or even ticketed for. Would you let the cop handle the "guilty / not guilty" after hearing your story, or what

I think it could be, but on some servers. Maybe on the official servers aswell, but in a limited time period, like once a week, for 3-5 hours, you know. To not dictate the playstyle of players that don't want to just shoot and kill. But a very interesting idea, nonetheless

Quite interesting thought process there mate Pistol into toilet to hide it there for someone else later - what kind of use do you see here? The first I thought of, personally, was in a court, to kill either the judge, or the witness, you know, like that.. Secret compartment in a car, well, I don't know. I'd look more into the why of a car search. In city or somewhere near city? Only if you make some cop angry, or if someone else points at you and tells a cop "hey sir I saw him selling drugs earlier" or "he pointed his gun at me and tried to rob me, yes officer, it's deffinitely him!". Then, I would say you are gonna get searched. Outside of city? Near some well known drug trafficking ways? only mere presence of lonely car could be a probable cause for a cop to search your car. SO I think these should be the situations cops can search your vehicle in. Simply put: PROBABLE CAUSE. BUT!!! If you install secret pockets in your jacket, or in your trunk that CAN'T BE FOUND BY POLICE, well then, you eliminate any danger from for example drug trafficking. If they can't find it in your car, there is no danger for you, so what's the point. That's not drug trafficking, that's safe passage :-/ Gun (drugs) inside TV, well, why and where? Again, in a hotel room? Ready for a murderer or for a drug traffickant? Dunno exactly what for.

It's not RDM if you talk to them first Maybe explain a little bit about your psychopathic serial killer and finaly sacrifice them in a back alley. All fine here, moving on. I think there should be more "levels" to a crime career, like in the army or police. And not linear aswell. For example a cop could finish his training and become an initiate. Then, he could go either narcotics, street patrol, building security, swat team (just examples) and so on. Each would have a different job desc. I would like to see something like this for criminals aswell. Ofcourse you could be a "can do anything" criminal all the time at the same time while being a murderer for example. Here a robery, here a murder, here 2 kidnapings, here drug traffiicking, but with the introduction of Career jobs in criminal career, there could be a Murderer, People trafficker, Drug seller, Robber and so and so. Would be interesting to see these roles fulfill their job description and benefit from doing most of the things they are supposed to. For example geting a % bonus as a robber from roberies, while a murderer would only get the base amount on the body. Do you get what I mean? Prostitutes I would love to see em in the game, but I can't imagine them fitting in the concept. A player would just stand on a sidewalk and wait for a customer. Customer arives, pays, something happens (who knows, maybe some voice acting, weird shit, dunno) but then what. If there is no benefit assigned, like advanced health (long live GTA Vice City), or faster sprinting, calm breath when aiming down sights, or things like these, I see no real benefit and so no big reason for hookers in the game. If someone could come up with a way how to implement it and how to benefit from "ordering a protitute", by all means, I am OK with that and would love to be a PIMP one day. Woah, a Pimp, new crime career job

Welcome buddy, we are in the exact same situation! It was a sure pledge the first moment I saw the kickstarter page

Being stealthy
Magor57 replied to NutterButter's question in Tourism (Q&A)
That's a great question! I think that there needs to be some balance about this. FIRST SIDE For example, if there was indeed a need of a witness or a mobile report from the wictim, one could simply kidnap people and murder them without ever suffering a punishment. And to this, there are 2 things to say. 1st It would feel realistic as hell. As long as nobody finds the corpse or reports a missing friend, the murdered would walk free - this is realistic as hell and very cool imo. 2nd, it would realy ruin other players time - but, in game like this people die, right. It is just another day... So maybe that would be preferable. People should be able to defend themselves, but should not be in any kind of protection (other than police and selfedence firearm, so for example ingame system etc) from danger in form of muggers and murders. SECOND SIDE The second option is that a murderer will become wanted as soon as he kills his victim. That is not a real experience. Ofcourse, it could be applied like said before, to banks, some bigger stores (perhaps whose owners bought the expensive silent alarm) etc. But If you make wanted people wanted the second they commit some lower lvl crime, like a murder, they will eventualy stop, or there will be a lot less interesting experiences due to the lack of people murdering others because they are almost not allowed to get away with it AKA hardening the life of a felon, which I think is a big mistake. So either you have a great, realistic experience where the murderer must be seen by a witness, who reports him to the police, or by a polcie officer, or the victim managed to 911 sms before the victim was killed, or some shop camera or something like that. This is great for the real experience, but could eventualy result in 7/10 people just robbing and killing their victims to get some money. And on the other hand you have a system so hightech that will automaticaly recognize and note crimes and instantly makes pople wanted. So there will be less people murdering, because it will be eventualy HARDER for criminals to be, to exist in this game. Please, a mod or someone, react to this and give it more thought. I would like to know opinions of you all with examples. Thank you! -
Hi guys! I was so happy when I got your mail! I am so looking forward to this awesome game. I backed it on Kickstarter the second I saw it and am patiently waiting and stalking you on identitys FB page, liking every new photo, post, anyhing and everything. So again, very excited to be here and to be a part of this awesome project! Cheers! This was the welcoming part. Feel free to stop there. Here is something longer about my roleplay gaming experiences. Probably nobody is gonna be interested in that, but still. Can't hurt, right Roleplay gaming history: Used to play alot of roleplay DayZ (about a year), then got addicted on Amarok servers of Altis Life (Arma 3 Roleplay mod) (about half a year), then played a little on Asylum servers aswell. Then played a little Arma 3 Life. Tried some H1Z1, but 98% of people did not even try to roleplay. I spent most of my RP gaming on amazing Amarok, which was glorious. From my year or so playing DayZ I learned that like money, loot is, was and will be (lost ) again. You loot some, kill some, die, repeat. After a month, that was not for me anymore. All I did was I met people and talked to them, creating unique interactions. Some deserved to be killed, some to be helped. It heavily depended on my mood and on behavior of others. The point is I did not loot and loot and loot. I seized opportunities to create friends and enemies. All while roleplaying, having fun and enjoying every bit of it. In Altis life on Amarok, I spent most time by doing what some players would consider wasting time, and others would consider it "the true enjoying of roleplay". Basicaly, I did not even try to earn any money. I just stayed in the middle of Kavala (main city) and talked to people. There were some kidnapings, some murders, some robberies, some arguing with cops, some honest earning money with random people. I just walked the path that was suddenly set before me by my mood and other's. Someone kidnaped me? I played along and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed every second of Altis. So yeah, I am pretty hyped for Identity. I backed it on kickstarter the moment I found it, thanks to some random dude on Amarok Gaming who told me about it.
