gameplay video Sad to Admit I Am Dissapointed
LordBenji replied to JoelKeys's topic in The Town Square
What are you talking about? Yes I did put my opinion about the crime video, and how the future one should be better. I didn't go completely out of subject. The reason why I was talking about Town Square was because you were worried about that the crime video could have been the best they have done (which isn't). Even though the video have been a source of disappointment, I'll say like you said, it's not enough for me to ask for a refund. -
Welcome @SwitchOnTwitch ! If you want to get more familiar with Identity, you can check the links in my signature. There's also an official Discord channel at https://discord.gg/identityrpg Yes people do plan to rent community servers, in which there will be custom rules and setup. No modding support planned, but Asylum might consider it in a far future.

If you disconnect, it'll just make it easier for the cops to bust you, unless you do it in a safe place. It'll also be hard to suicide yourself, but I'm not quite sure what will happen, like if the cops can still carry your body, get an EMT to revive you and send you to jail, I have no clue. It'll also be hard to find a suitable place high enough to eventually end up only breaking your legs. So if you commit a bad crime, I think you well deserve the punishment.

HELP!
LordBenji replied to MadmanTampa's question in Tourism (Q&A)
Hello @MadmanTampa ! You can pledge for the Citizen pack, which will give you access to the full game when it will be released (no ETA). Or you can get any higher pledge to get access to the modules, beta and release. The first module will be released on the 21st of March 2018. Here's the shop page for the pledges: https://www.identityrpg.com/shop/ -
Any armed criminals will likely get in troubles. The stress system would greatly decrease RDM (Random death match), hence making anyone wearing firearms become much more stressed and take more damage. It would also make sense that they would put stairs in front that will prevent any vehicles to block the access to the entrance.

I know it's not fake, but yeah that could help if they could get someone to manage media, especially video wise. I don't mind the length, because it's what they show us that is important, not how long the video is. But I can't wait for module one, which will come out on the 21st of March 2018.

That is weird that you'd get an error trying to use PayPal. I never had any issues with my payments, even without having funds in the account wallet, which it would take the amount due from whatever I've put for providing funds. So does the error appear after trying to make the payment?

gameplay video Sad to Admit I Am Dissapointed
LordBenji replied to JoelKeys's topic in The Town Square
I know that, personally it probably wouldn't have been too hard to ask one of the developers to make some better foliage for a certain area to polish it up a little bit. But I'll assure you that the Town Square video will be much better than the crime one. TS has been redone three times and they've put much more work on it. But yeah, as I said, mistakes was done, but hopefully it'll be the last video filled with too many placeholders. I don't mind if they take a few months to work on a video, because seriously it's not just a matter of recording stuff, but making sure you have a good base too so you can record on it. I want to love this game, and through good planning, I'm sure this will be a success. -
Airplanes and helicopters won't be in this game, sorry. No matter how much you'd like it, the CEOs have said it already that they don't want a quick and easy way to go from point A to point B, because they don't want you to miss the opportunity to meet people while you drive to a certain location. Also, helicopters and drones would give too much of an advantage and they don't want people to do espionage or have an aerial view.

I don't know why people still think the game could be fake. I have something that I call Faith (like @Notic3 just said ) and Patience. This is one of the rare game that I've spent so much money (because I regret most of the other ones that I did), because I actually want to see it succeed. I want to enjoy it, I want to spend a lot of time on it when I can. But I know there's still so much to do.

Hello and welcome to the community @dotheboot ! Have you tried to post your issue in Account Support section on the forum?

Just adding some screenshots in here. Some may not be the final product, but are pretty close to what you'll see in game. I think I've seen Jade work on one of the apartments, not sure if it was one from these blueprints: Then there's these lovely screenshots, but contains a few placeholders. It'll be polished before the module releases don't worry.

At the moment, you can pledge 15$ to get your passport (access to full game when it'll be released), or 30$ + to gain access to the first three modules and the beta (before full game release). At the moment, the first module will be out the 21st of March, but no ETA for anything else.

Hey, welcome Corey! You can always join the official Discord server: https://discord.gg/identityrpg In case it doesn't work, you can try this one instead: https://discord.gg/ZjEfNd

The main focus is on Town Square, but rest assured the whole map will be overhauled too over time. What would be the point to stick with old placeholder foliage?

You'd probably have to buy extra space for parking your future vehicles. Also note that some garages are not all the same size, to accommodate the size of some vehicles. I believe your pledged vehicle is stuck with your account due that it's like your personal reward for making the pledge. One thing I'm not sure and should ask the developers about it is if the garages are bound to apartments or are they separate. In other words, if you can just buy a garage spot without having to buy an apartment, or if they are bundled together. I know I've heard from the Twitch clips about public garage space you could get so that could be one option.

Question about tutorials
LordBenji replied to Llama42's question in Tourism (Q&A)
There will probably be online tutorials made by the team and/or the community. There's also some features in the game that requires passing a small tutorial, for example passing your driver's licence in game, or when you apply for the police officer career. Some other stuff will probably be with a little bit of trial and error, like the more risky stuff (*cough* making meth *cough*). Here's a clip that explains a little bit about the kind of tutorials you'll expect to see in the game: https://clips.twitch.tv/BraveUninterestedEchidnaArgieB8 -
Do you have any suggestions as to the roles you can have? And what kind of influence having more employees would have? I'm just asking those to make you think a little bit. You know, what advantage would it give to incorporate a customization shop into the corporations. Hmm and seems like I forgot there's this Twitch clip that talks a little bit on the difference between the mechanic and the car customization: https://clips.twitch.tv/SparklingPowerfulNoodleWholeWheat
-
Yeah, I agree, but all we know so far is that you can have a corporation for Legal (lawyers and stuff), Transportation (like buses and taxi), Delivery (who's going to deliver goods?), and Manufacturing (crafting a wide variety of goods). There's always places for more, but some features like mechanic doesn't necessarily requires a corporation for it.

gameplay video Sad to Admit I Am Dissapointed
LordBenji replied to JoelKeys's topic in The Town Square
They've wanted to make the video for months, in fact it's mentioned on Dev Blog #008. But the thing is, it didn't go as planned, the biggest delay was probably because John was alone to work on it for quite a bit of time? The rest of the team was focused on Town Square. Then there was issues with animations, not only because the developer in charge of it took much more time to release them, but there was also game engine crash, polishing and other stuff to take into account. I'm just stating some facts about it, but now into the opinion part. Yes the game play video could have been much better, because some of the placeholders were months or a few years old. Cringe worthy right? But let's not forget it was recorded in a part of the map that haven't been worked for a long time. The vehicle physics left me with mixed feelings (as a person who loves driving), but I know that feature won't appear until module three. The shooting did look cool, with the animations of being shot and falling down without actually dying. But I think they plan to improve some aspects in there. I'm not saying I hated the video, that's not true. But it would be a lie if I said it was almost perfect. There was some things I did like and some things I didn't like. But how does it affect my view of Identity? It doesn't at all. They've made mistakes, we all do, but I'd strongly recommend waiting until the TS video, or at least the release of the first module. Some people think the C&P video was the main focus of all those months, but it looked more like Town Square was the big focus for those months of wait. It was at the beginning of February that they started rushing on the crime video and some people was begging for it. -
Because we see potential in it, and I pledged a lot of money for this project. Yep it's been half a year since John have first mentioned about a game play video he wanted to make, on the Dev Blog #008: "and now we want you to see vehicles, drug production and weapon systems." But things didn't go as he expected, as all the charge was on him when the others was busy on Town Square, as mentioned on blog #010. On #012, he seems to get back on the plan of working on that short game play video. On #013, he thinks that the video might be released, then work on Town Square video. Then finally, on #014, he said days not weeks, due to a set back with animations (I believe the guy working on them didn't give it on time). Another note which wasn't in the blog was that the animations was also causing the Unreal engine to crash, and it took quite some time to troubleshoot. Along with a bit of polishing, transferring things, making the build on multiple computers, recording several times, tweaking things out, etc. Incompetence is the lack of knowledge and skills. Things out of control doesn't count. Also that's not a wise word to chose to describe the team of Asylum. Have you seen some of the cool stuff they make? There's quite some talented artists and modelers. If you believe this is potentially fake, I can argue it is not. With Q&A Twitch streams since October the 11th, and a few other developers like @Jade also stream their work. You can check all the Twitch clips that @Beach_Ball takes the time to put together:

There's not much details about car customization except we only know it'll be "in depth". For the corporation, I don't know if it'll be possible, but it seems like a good idea.

People wanted a video because it's been a very long time, then they tried to make one with the things they had in hand. Personally, I'd rather wait until they provide something that we can feast our eyes on. At this point, the game is still very early access and a lot of parts of the map are still very old. Town Square being their main priority, I doubt they would have put an insane amount of efforts just to show us a video for the greedy people in demand of game play footage. I get it, we all want to see how the game looks like and we want to play it. But why put all the focus on a video? It wouldn't make any sense because they need a good base before making one. And it seems like there's been a lot of things that has been scratched and redone over and over during those slow years of development. It's been only roughly half a year since they made a leap in terms of productivity. I know Asylum will learn from their mistakes. It's when we give them constructive criticism that it'll help them improve the game. I've seen a lot of people saying the video was a joke, that they would have thought it would have been the work of 3 years, borderline complaining about this and that. Yes I defend this game and the developers, yes I've pledge a lot of money on this. But when I criticize, I give my honest opinion and facts. So for example, I'll say the apartment video was really cool, with the amount of options to chose from. But the body of the character could use some improvements (yes I know they changed it a lot after it). But for the crime video, I was hyped yes, but since John has said that we shouldn't get our hype level too high, I was wondering why and then I knew since I looked at the video the first time. I noticed how those assets weren't photo realistic, but I knew they were placeholders. I was a bit disappointed about the driving physics (as someone who loves driving), but I knew they wanted to make something quick as a placeholder, and that it'll definitely change in module three. The animations were a little funky, but I knew that we won't see most of them until module two, three and full beta. So I kept in mind that most of the stuff in the video were low priority in the development. They just wanted to show that it exists and it's not a joke. Like a glimpse of what you'll be able to do. Whew it's starting to get long. But yeah, I'd wait until the Town Square video, or even the first module which the goal is for us to test it and give feedback.

Some people doesn't always follow what's happening... But it's their loss if they're barely informed. I have to admit I missed a bunch of things because I wasn't active at all for a while. But I try my best to understand what's going on. I'll have to admit that the location, and mechanics being showcased probably wasn't a wise choice. Old untouched part of the map (or almost untouched), physics you'll find in module two and three, and in beta. You'd think that with three years of development, you'd get flawless progress, but it's not as simple as a lot of you would think... Don't forget they didn't have 20 developers and a nice office at the beginning. Things were delayed a lot due to unexpected things to happen. It's been about half a year ago they got their new office, and employed new developers. Some of them are living across the ocean and doesn't necessarily work full time. So about those animations, they've been waiting for the guy to give it to them, and they were placeholders (yeah I know what you think.) Some people say that animations are easy to do but they are not really as easy as you think they are. With how many times they redesigned body models, making clothing fit, blending the animations so it looks smooth then there's a few other things that Brandon and John have said in two Twitch clips that I'd like to point out. https://clips.twitch.tv/BetterKnottyCobblerKappaPride & https://clips.twitch.tv/HealthyVainHerdSoBayed I know I've said it several times already, but I'll repeat it again, we should expect the video of Town Square to be much higher quality (with hopefully new reworked animations on time), because the first module have been their main priority for the most part. That's the bit of the map that has been completely redone at least three times during those few years of development. It is very likely to have some of the most up to date assets, but we will see how it goes. I doubt it'll be very long as it's just a few things to showcase around the area. There's almost no information about what they plan to include in the video, but it would be cool to find a few cinematic shots on the streets, and walking around in the buildings like the museum and karaoke bar.

That is scary and I'm quite concerned about you asking that question. If your aim in the game is to get others mad at you, people won't like you and you might end up getting banned if you push it too far and that the community reports you for murdering for fun. I know this is just a game, but sincerely, it probably won't be accepted among the public servers.
