Was this confirmed by the Devs or are you just assuming this? -

I agree with both. -
When they weren't developing a game and their main focus was the servers, I never saw any RDM.
-
There are safe zones where people cannot be harmed such as library's and schools. RDM is a bannable offense and from what I've seen the devs plan on moderating the servers. If 250 people are running around killing each-other without cause then those people will be banned.

I'm seeing a lot of companies that are making complicated leadership structures that are completely unnecessary. If you're a startup company, you don't need managers and co-managers, and intermediate employees and journeyman employees and starting employees etc. Generally, you're company is going to have 2, maybe 3 jobs that is required for it to run profitably and that's it. It's also only going to need a 2 level leadership hierarchy. The boss (you) and the employees. Another thing I see companies doing, is blatantly lying to their potential customers and potential employees about the size of their company. Do NOT do this. While in the short term it might make you stand out to act all high and mighty, people will see through it. Most companies already do this, and it's only going to hurt them in the long run. It will hurt you because you won't be able to uphold the expectations you set up for yourself and no one will trust you. TLDR: Don't make stupid leadership hierarchies, you don't need them. Don't lie about being the biggest company in the game: You're not.

Wouldn't we all. You need to make money before you can be a merchant. You should find a player organization that will pay you, save your money, and then start your own business. Or, you could always get a loan...

I will vote for whoever offers the most to the development of economy and the preservation of the free market. I also believe that Politicians should have power over admins in some regards IE. if a politician passes a law saying that on one night a year all crime is legal, Admins shouldn't ban people for RDM. Edit: Not that I would vote for any politician that passed a stupid law like that, it was just an example.

Some Advice for Inquiring Entrepreneurs
uncannierlink replied to uncannierlink's topic in Board Room
My point wasn't that you shouldn't advertise your company or claim you are "the best" option out of your competition. I am talking about making claims that aren't true. While I can see there point and there is some wiggle room for the companies calling themselves "Mega Corporations" I am more talking about companies that claim, "We can provide service all over the island" or "we own real estate in all major cities." That's just not true, and will create distrust in your customers. -
Some Advice for Inquiring Entrepreneurs

Business is built on trust. You can lie bend the truth with opinions (ie. the best new thing), but never tell your customers facts that aren't true. Believe it or not, a reputation for lying is the only kind of bad press. -
writingprompt Write an Identity Story involving people on the forums.
uncannierlink posted a topic in The Pub
Many people on the Forums have more or less established their characters and personalities either through RP threads or just posting. Write short story involving some of your favorite forum members as their RP characters. Have fun! (Since the story is a work of fiction, you don't really have to worry about anyone suing you for defamation, permission, while nice to have, is not strictly nessessary. In case anyone was worried about that) -
I don't think this is the cop's job. Cops are not moderators. Cops are players. They shouldn't have authority if someone breaks server rules.
-
Just have a written contract system, and give police the ability to repo (either only under a judge order/ high ranking officers, or a RP server mod equivalent) and there you go.
-
No reason why player owned insurance companies couldn't be a reality. Would just need a system in place to ensure that they pay up.

This is what gangs are for. Or at least that's what they were called in the life mods. -

If you legislate the laws of your own business, that's corruption, because you have a heavy incentive to make laws not for the people, but for your business. -

All I will say, is that absolute power corrupts absolutely, and I will leave it at that. -

That is not what conflict of interests mean. A conflict of interests is, as an example, the reason a boxer cannot bet money his opponent will win. -

So a single organization is planning on being lawyers, banks and politicians, Sounds like a huge conflict of interests. -

It seems to me that your goal here is not to make profit, and instead to make friends. If your planning on using tax money to pay for these loans, you're going to make a great deal of people unhappy. -
I've had the opposite experience. People always acted like dumbasses and tried to be "funny" when they RP. That could be because I play on high pop servers though.
-
Well said. I couldn't agree more.

Only if they manage it correctly via compensating risk with appropriate interest rates. Businesses are very expensive and very high risk. Claiming the interest will be low on these loans is unrealistic, and could lead to major losses.
