What kind of rules regard corruption in the Police Departement would you like to see on Official Servers?
uncannierlink posted a topic in The Precinct
IMO one of the most boring RP interactions in Arma Life was the solo small time criminal and the by the books cop. Basically, the cop guns you down, tickets you, and you go to jail or pay the ticket. It's like interacting with an ATM. I think as far as server rules, corruption should be allowed, hell even encouraged. Obviously within the police department they should dismiss officers who are proven to be corrupt (Maybe only temporarily) as there has to be some risk associated with corruption. I don't really have anything specific in mind though other than there needs to be some god damn corrupt officers in the force otherwise it'll be boring. Do you guys have any ideas for specific punishments regarding corruption? What do you think of Corruption being present on official servers? What is the ideal balance between corruption and "by the book" police work? -
Guns won't be In the town square. Housing won't be in the town square iirc. Vehicles won't be in the town square (which I imagine includes bikes). Money won't be in the town square. The only confirmed town square features are books, paintings, chess, karaoke, movies, and Voip.

The People's Revolutionary Party (P.R.P.) [HIRING SECURITY GUARDS!]
uncannierlink replied to DLimit's topic in Job Bank
Why don't you just outsource your security? There's lots of competition. I''m sure you'll get a good price. -
Would you look at that. ANOTHER private security corporation. Such an over-saturated market.

Micro-transactions in games make boatloads of money. There is no reason not to put cosmetic micro-transactions into your game.

It's been confirmed there will no air vehicles in the game. The devs said they dont want people flying over the map and missing all the RP on the ground.

I made a video trying to go through point by point of why I think a lot of Grey Fox's arguments don't follow with the reality of game development. The devs are working on a very tight budget considering the scale they want this project to be. Please just be patient. The worst thing you can do is take away your money and support right as they finally get some momentum going.

Dollabank is always hiring. PM me and I can explain how player operated banks will most likely work in Identiy.

Nothing is stopping you from RPing that, but the action will not be supported via in game animations, nor code.

there won't be enough cops if the gangs take over everything and kos all the cops. Cops will stop playing because it's boring getting killed repeatedly by super powerful gangs. -

No. It happens all the time. Players either quit the server because one gang dominates them, or join the gang that is dominating. Thats how it happens ALL THE TIME IN SANDBOX MMOs. -
gameplay Kind of sucks that stealth is out of the picture

Yes, you will still be wanted, but without the bounty system it would be impossible to prove any crimes happened. You can dispute the bounty in court, and if your mafia influences run deep you will probably be able to get out "free" (Assuming no witnesses saw you murder your target in cold blood). Trust me, they're all parking tickets... -

In the Asylum arma 2 server your bounty was just a cash value. No criminal record. Murder gave you a larger bounty, but otherwise it was nondescript. -

Well here's the thing. You may gain a bounty, but the police don't necessarily know what that bounty is for. It could just be parking tickets. -

Yeah definitely don't be a game developer. That isn't fun. Games have to be fun. -

Stealth in not out of the picture just because silencers aren't in the game. There are other silent ways to kill that don't involve firearms. Not to mention someone who is stealthy as a ghost should never have to kill. -

Not sure what you're saying here. There are rules that the police have to follow on official servers. I want to know what people think those rules are/should be, specifically in regards to corruption. -

This is an excellent write-up, and I agree completely. Small corruption = good. Large corruption needs to be wiped out. -

Can you link where the devs said this? It's very disheartening. If they're going to server ban cops for taking bribes, Official servers are going to be so dull. -
These were the only ones I found that were (in my opinion) large/old/prestigious enough to be included in the list. Again there's almost a company for every user on the forum. It's not useful to mention all of them.

top10 Who Are The Top 10 Most Popular Forums Members?

Y'all are Karmawhores. Just saying. -
No business is REALLY booming as the game isn't out yet. Most companies you see are just one guy who made a forum post to try and get people interested. However, off the top of my head some of the bigger companies that should be taken seriously (As of now referred to the "DollaBank" Bluechip Fortune 15): Security - Aegis, Atlas Transportation - Velocity, National Transport inc, Discovery Logistics, Core Transportation Clothing - Keys, Supreme Media - Identity TV Finance - Dollabank LLC, Rapidora, Fidelity This is a pretty inclusive list of all the Companies I'd consider "vetted." I may have missed a few. I also intentionally didn't include any political organizations or crime families. Though there are some pretty big ones you should be aware of. If I forgot anyone major PM me and I'll check it out and add it.

I mean, Asylum literally doesn't have a marketing team. They're a small dev team of less than 10 people who are WAAYYYY under funded. They're doing pretty well with community management considering.

Discharge Reports for police

That's actually a good Idea. Cops should have to include a little writeup whenever they issue a ticket. -
In-Game Currency to Real World Currency
uncannierlink replied to Hill's topic in Ideas & Suggestions
There is already an mmo that does this and it's not that fun. The game either costs you money, or turns into a job. Or you're super lucky and are like the one player who owns a popular social hub. Basically, the economics don't work out, because the money has to come from somewhere. Asylum won't pay people to play their game, they need to make a profit. So the money comes from players. Eventually the money dries up because everyone wants to take money out of the system, and no one is putting money into it. Honestly, If they could just get an economy similar to Albion or Eve I'd be incredibly impressed.
