No corrupt cops. Well that's a relief. We have too much of that crap here in the real world. We go to virtual worlds to escape harsh realities such as that. Sign me up. Side note: After hearing that bit of good news, I think my career in Identity will be law enforcement. I don't plan on enlisting to be a jackass, I plan on doing it for the honor.

I heard on one of the videos circulating on YouTube that locked cars will not be able to be stolen. I don't know whether this is true or not, but I heard that cars will be treated as player apartments: Once you buy/rent it, it's yours and cannot be taken away. I'm sure there are plenty of other activities in the criminal career. Heck, there might be unowned cars that can be stolen, parked around the environment.

I'm sure we will have different tools to interact with to perform our careers. It wouldn't feel immersive otherwise.

Looks like the developers like to peruse at local farmer's markets. I wonder how much of it is gathering groceries and how much is visiting random locations taking snapshots such as that to help create area designs for the city living in Identity? Lol
-
JamesLuck01, do you happen to be one of those in charge over there at the studio? A specific person designated to watch over the forum? Are you perhaps one of the developers taking time off from the project?

The developers are going to put NPCs in positions players won't want. Prison guards, janitors, that kind of thing. If it is a job people will want, they won't put NPCs there. You've got to remember, this is going to be a place with all sorts jobs people would like to do. Hell, some people will even want to be taxi drivers and bartenders. If you want to see NPCs, think the crappiest jobs in the world. People might actually like being security guards (except at the prison, cause let's face it no one wants to babysit prisoners all day).
-
As far as that goes, that might be a position players might want to do.
-
Oh yea. Prison guards is one of the positions a few of us thought would be perfect for NPCs. http://www.identityrpg.com/community/topic/4338-npc-prison-guards-for-added-challenge-when-escaping/ http://www.identityrpg.com/community/topic/4284-npc/

As I stated before, they won't be relying on NPCs that much, and they certainly won't be relying on NPCs to fill important job roles such as police officers, gangsters, and businessmen. Players will be taking on those roles. This isn't a one player game. This is a MMORPG. That means all important roles will be claimed by players. Police players will work with other police players, gangster players will be working with other gangster players, and businessmen players will be working with other businessmen players. Now, I know where you are coming from, you think the servers will all be empty and only have a few people in them. But the word about Identity is spreading fast. By the time the MMORPG is up and running it will be huge and tons of people will be lining up to get on it.

Hmmm, I never considered that. I've have quite a few games that require driving around, such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Watch Dogs 1 and 2, but I've always stuck with the regular game controller. It isn't always precise, but hey, I am familiar with it. But to those who use more advanced controllers such as a steering wheel, I am sure they would consider it.

Some ideas i had for a project I was working on

A walking exploration simulator... How is that any different from what Identity tells us it will be? But then again, SecondLife is the same way as well. You want to compete with this game? More power to you. But I'd like to hear what the developers words on this would be. That probably won't happen though. Sounds like opening a Burger King next to Sonic if you ask me lol. -
I believe as long as we keep up the suggestions for activities and objects to be added into the game, the more they will add in. One of the "unofficial" YouTube videos posted talks about how drugs will play a big role in the criminal career. Believe what you want though. I choose to believe it. Looked like a very legit video from someone who was able to get a little Q & A out of the developers.

The developers have already stated that they do not wish to fill the world with NPCs. It will be up to us as players to make the world functional. Probably a few NPCs here and there, but seriously, why would you want all these NPCs around all over the place? NPCs say the same thing and do the same thing over and over and over again. It ruins the online world experience. People play online games because they are tired of repetition. NPCs are better suited for single player games. As I said, the developers won't rely on NPCs like robots ready to do every single task for us. They will trust us to be independent and do things for ourselves. But we have suggested that NPCs be used for prison guards.

That would be an interesting concept to see unfold. I would love playing Xbox 1 games streamed on Identity. All depends on what our bandwidth is. If they would implement Twitch streams into the game it would be possible. What about playing an online game on Identity? Genius, but a big strain on your internet connection.

Is it weird that I think they should add more animations?

Sorry. This was my status rank given to me because I joined, but haven't paid for the beta. The statuses are there to show how much we have commited to the game. Don't worry though, I'm very very commited. I just need a new pc before I can enjoy all of this though. -
I may have made a similar post earlier, but now I see where it should've been posted at. My idea was for the ability to make private chat groups possible, and this idea came from studying the law enforcement career. It would make the job far more efficient if we could chat privately with a group of other officers and share tactics without criminals overhearing.

At least we can weigh our decision on what to believe on the fact that many of these YouTube members questioning the developers are legitimately excited and looking for information any which way they can find it. At least we can say that this so called information they are providing isn't too far fetched. But if you want to talk far fetched, these YouTube videos talking about GTA 6 are such an example. That is a complete load of horse shit. Rockstar is focused on getting Red Dead Redemption 2 out on the shelves and dealing with the lawsuit by Leslie Benzies. Those videos were created to get you to download a fake demo onto your systems and hack your information.

As the guys behind the curtains developing Identity probably could not afford to acquire all these licenses to have all these brands in the game, I believe it is up to us players to create our own brands and distribute them throughout the Identity virtual world. It's an endless world of opportunity out there. I myself envision being a businessman in the game, manufacturing all sorts of different brand name electronics. -
The game is in its initial stages people. You have questions, we have anwers... which may or may not be true. We aren't mind readers, able to see what goes on in their heads. We are people, anxious to see what it will amount to. There is an endless sea of questions out there, so you aren't alone.
-
Which amazes me they had time to even talk to these people on YouTube. But there you have it. Any news is better than no news.
-
Official means you know when you open the box. This is a team of 5 developers we are talking about here. They have too much to do than post official videos every time someone has a question.
-
Well, if you want proof you'd have to be in the office alongside the developers. Believe what you want. I'll take the word of those who will actually talk about it.
