security Job posting for Investment Corporation starting wages $40.00/hr
Sporan replied to ThomasHetch's topic in Board Room
I like the new take! Can't wait to see what you'll make of it. -
Pretty self explanatory title. Everyone knows about the Governor position by now, but are there any other elected positions that we know of, as of right now? Thanks!
-
Good luck to you as well with the campaign! And I would suppose working in the DA Office would lead to being apart of the government, so I'd imagine we may run into each other. Again, thanks and good luck on the trail!
-
As of right now, I'm set on a position as a district prosecuting attorney, so the politics will have to wait for now. But regardless, I'm sure you'd be more than happy to hear the voice of every citizen, actively involved in your campaign or just another voter! We all want what's best for the island after all.

Better to know now than later though! At least now you still have plenty of time to switch the direction of your company to something possible in the server. -
Yeah that's what I assumed. I just wanted to check in case I somehow missed something after my tedious combing of the forums. Thanks man!

Heya! Welcome to Identity! Hope you enjoy your stay here! Sounds like your experience as a police officer will be interesting for role play. Can't wait to see it in action!
-
It's reasonable justification to shoot a trespasser. Just don't argue with the police and everything would be worked out. I sincerely doubt you'd have to serve any time, so long as you call the police and explain the situation.

4/10 - Just not really my type, but a decent beat.

Fully understand. I don't want to put any rush on you as you flesh out your campaign, especially since health care is a vital element to the island. Just meant whenever you get around to answer let us know. Thanks, and good luck!
-
Thanks for getting back to me and answering my question. I'd like to know when you have a solid answer, as government corruption could be an issue when mingling with business ventures. Anyway, good luck on the campaign trail!

Question, Mr. Hetch. First of all. You seem, as of right now, the most bent on becoming governor, as I've seen you everywhere. I respect this drive and passion towards your goal, and it says a lot regarding your character and ambition. My question is this. How do you plan on running a business and the island at the same time. Surely you can see, perhaps, a conflict of interests between the two ventures. While I respect your ambition, I simply fear, as many other voters may, that you may end up using your seat in public office to influence profit of your business. To what security can we have for you to best protect the interests of our citizens, while putting us first and business second? Sorry if this was too long by the way. Just want to clear up any concerns I may have. Thanks!

Very well written post. I wish you an enormous amount of success, and I also can't wait to battle you in the courtroom as a prosecuting attorney. I'm sure we'll find ourselves in a position of intellectual growth as we learn from our experiences and challenges.

Hey, I was browsing all the different candidates running for Governor, and I'd like to know a little more. I eventually plan to become involved in the political side of Identity, so I'd like to know with whom I most closely allign myself with. Another question I have, which forgive me if it's been answered somewhere, is when the actual election will occur for Governor? I, myself, plan on becoming apart of the DA Office as a prosecuting attorney, so it would be helpful to know the politics behind us. Thanks!

What types of security can you offer a person seeking your services? The costs and risks of using you seem to far outweigh that of the reward. For instance, no matter how tight a plan may be, things go wrong. Even if your plan was followed exactly to the letter, but still failed, would full payment be refunded back to the buyer? Your word doesn't seem strong enough to back up the assurance of success, so some type of business accountability would be nice, as well as professional.

I have no clue about an in game system, but as for individual corporations, I see no reason the CEOs wouldn't accept money in exchange for stock. Whether it's implemented in game or not, it's up to the player heading up the company whether or not they sell stock. An interesting concept related to this would be if someone accumulated enough stock in a company to do a hostile take over, if the CEO unwittingly gives over 50% of the company over in stock.

Hey! I wasn't sure if this would go on this section of the forums, but due to it being about the law, I figured it would be. Throughout history, important court cases have been used to set precedent over certain matters (Roe v. Wade, Brown v. Board, etc.). These cases range from civil rights to repeals and revisions on laws deemed unconstitutional. My question is this, and forgive me if it's been asked. Will different court cases be recorded and documented, and allowed to be used in future court cases as precedent to shape our law? Thanks!
-
I just wanted to bring this point up, as it'd be interesting to see law take shape over the course of history on the island, especially in the case of high profile crimes and criminals being prosecuted. Or in the case of civil law, if a business practice is deemed unethical in a suit. Thanks for the response btw!
-
I don't think I clarified my point. I don't mean recorded as in video taped. I mean documented in the sense that someone in the courtroom or something automated records some type of file, or the judge has to fill something out, about what the case is about, and what the verdict was.
-
It's fine man haha. And yeah, I feel quite strongly about law, and am bound to learn new things, as well as having a good time doing it! Also that story is hilarious, I can only imagine how awkward it might have been to hear that in the middle of a silence or someone talking.
-
Definitely lawyer. I'm training in law currently IRL, so it'd be a fun little thing to RP in the game. Also I just find the courtroom exciting, as well as you can work with detectives to help build cases and such. And yeah I get what you mean haha. Put a player in a situation with no consequences and a lot of choices, and you'll never know what you're getting
-
That's the plan! Or at least, the one I currently have in mind. Seems a little different than being a cop, and it's what I'm learning about IRL. Also it'd be fun to perhaps work with detectives and other law enforcement.

Great! Thanks for the response!
