lol a outside fire....???? what r u even thinking, there are defensive fires where you hit the fire from the outside because its to dangerous to go in and offensive where u go inside and put the fire out...the siding on the house doesn't just randomly combust the heat builds up in the house and substains the fire, outside fire maybe with a gas tanker or electrical

Normally when you get a downed/lost/or injured firefighter they will radio a Mayday, and give there last known location, the problem, how much air they have left, ext. Most new players are going to be confused to this logic, so the officers should put together a RIT (rapid intervention team) to go find the downed fire fighter. The game should include maybe a thermal imager in the mask to help players find other players or firefighters, the RIT team should also have a special bag that one of the players will carry that when they find the downed firefighter, will refill his air-tank. This is kinda how it would go in real life, any suggestions or comments???

When fighting the fires that the game will throw at you, generally speaking if its bad enough there will be more than one department there so to give players a chance, there should be an oxygen bar from your air-pack that forces a player to get out and refill to give other players a chance to go in and fight the fire...that being said the officers need to be in there at all times to make sure the new guys don't do anything stupid, so they can go out and refill and go right back in, or should there be a stamina bar that forces all players to go out and rest to give everyone including the officers a chance to go in and out??? Suggestions?

What i'm trying to explain is in the united states almost all fire departments now in days have both fire and ems together because EMS is where the money is made for the city, we don't run a ton of calls under the fire department and not much money is made, what i'm hoping to expect is not necessarily fire and EMS running together but under the same roof. Most department in the city's have them separated and yes I get what your trying to say to get more players jobs, but 90% of the time full time firefighters are also paramedics. So for one building to staff firefighter/paramedics that run structure fires MVA's hazmat ext. and the paramedics can run EMS. Sure i want to do both because that is what I do and I think it would be more interesting but i guess we will see because i'm not making the game...but the game is ment to be realistic so I would imagine they will have shifts, some stations man up to 10 people and even more if there running both EMS and fire so think, 12 people per shift if there full time...24 hours on 48 hours off, then there are 3 shifts A, B, and C shift, AND this is not counting part-timers that only work maybe 12 hour shifts or less??? They will have plenty of jobs to go around...

well not exactly you have your fire chief-then your assistant chief (or battalion chief depending on whether your in a city with more than one department) then your captains (only on departments with one station) and your lieutenants (if more than one station this is the guy in-charge of one particular station) then you have 3 shifts A, B, and C shift so you have 1 fire chief, and 3 battalion chiefs one for each shift.

Most of the time in the united states both EMS and fire departments co inside one and other but run separably, so it would be cool to have both of them at car crashes ext. then being able to drive them to the hospital and hand over there information to the nurse & so on and so forth

Im not sure how there going to work there ranking system...fires should be interesting though! Maybe trapped victims if people dont get out in time???

To add on, for forest fires its not so much using water but pre burning to stop t from spreading...there really isnt a way to stop the fire other than to cut off its fuel so you draw a line in the sand and take away all the fuel the fire has to burn there and the fire goes out...haha and sadly with there being no Arial vehicles that takes away the fun, as for water we have pools that we use that water is dumped into from ponds if we dont have hydrants which run under pressure (most likely from a water tower) so depending on where your at in the game may depend on how you get your water. If someone is parked illegally, the fire department has the right to use any means necessary to achieve that, from using a neighbors pool...to breaking a drivers window to run a hose through the window to the hydrant (that happened before in Cleveland, Ohio where a woman parked in-front of a hydrant and they broke her window to hook up.)

Ya i think if they really got into working the whole thing out they could add in shifts and switch people off because im sure plenty of people will beg to sign up for departments and there will be plenty of man power so running your ass off prob wont be a prob. unless they have the stations run both fire and ems calls which I think would be more interesting but would require more management. And if they get A TON of sign ups to the point of having to turn people away go into doing an A, B, C shift with 24 on 48 off, you could even work another part time job? THAT would be cool.

2500 calls?!?!?! No way, but ya having fire departments would be interesting, everyone wants the fire and EMS separate from one and other but I believe that they should be together but only in the rural setting, have them separate in the city's

I think the Chief or head of staff should be able to decide the equipment the department gets to use. I prefer the tradition american Type lll looks like this there are 4 types in total if your interested...http://www.metronixinc.com/site/ambulances.html

By far my favorite uniform is light blue top with tactical uniform pants, as for the earlier posts they are European uniforms which is normal for them, but in the united states this is your most common uniform.

In the united states depending on the location most city's separate there fire departments from there EMS. Now this is beginning to change due to the lack of fires happening around the world, you just dont see it much anymore but there still needed. And because life revolves around money, city's and towns are now more and more having there fire & ems combined so they pay less people and dont have to staff 2 departments. Currently im working as both a fire fighter and a paramedic and 100% out of the 800 calls we have per year we have more EMS runs than fire. So to correct your earlier statements, YES there are JUST fire departments, and JUST EMS, but out here where I live you will see most departments conjoint. As the game goes I would love to see them conjoint, but I guess that would depend on how many departments they plan on having in this world??? Maybe have just Fire and an EMS crew in the city and a conjoint Fire & EMS in rural? Here in America we run under the NREMT which stands for National registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, and they set the standards of everything a EMT-B should be able to perform, and so on and so forth. To make mater's less confusing you still need to get licensed by the state, but overall to become a paramedic takes about a years worth of studies and once you get the job, they will train you for about another year. Being a firefighter is completely different, you have different classes, your 36 hour training (volunteer fire department) your 240 hour card (part-time full time departments) and if you want to advance yourself you can get Hazmat technician (takes about 2 months) fire science degree (associates about 2 years) OR train to be an officer...to long....and a pain...and you get to sit at a desk an point a lot... All together for me to be a paramedic/firefighter at 20 years old...took me 2 years but I still want my Hazmat tech and fire science so another 2+ years...but you dont NEED them to get a full time job, only for a promotion. Hope this helps!
