I believe this could be done without ruining the economy or making players overly wealthy. It may have to be done with the player owned businesses local to the server. If someone walks into your store and likes your product, and thinks that you will make a lot of sales, they could invest in your stock. giving you extra money to buy more products to sell. Part of the startup cost of the business could be buying into your own stock, and theoretically if another player owned more than 50% of your stock they could takeover your business by buying you out. Could teach people a thing or two about running a business. Similarly if you wanted to sell your business you could sell your stock in the business to pad your wallet for the missed income from sales. Also, if you are a business owner making good sales, maybe AI brokers buy into your stock some. On the flip side, say you own a business and get charged with a crime, the AI brokers would sell your stock. This puts a little more responsibility on business owners. There will inevitably be people who are extremely rich in the game, if the game is balanced correctly it should't be a big problem. (If it is, well then I suppose it only makes it more realistic)
