In game cash
Preston_bodhi_343 replied to ANOKATA's question in Tourism (Q&A)
last i checked the currency will match real life heavily, so a carton of cigarettes for example will cost like 10 bucks, a car brand new might cost between 20,000 and 35,000 dollars and a brand new house will likely cost over 100,000 dollars, wages will be heavily reflected on real life so an accountant for example could very well be on 50-60,000+ a year whereas a transporter or delivery driver might only earn 20,000 a year or whatever it is per month -
Hate to say it but that's actually plausable. Now while I believe that town square should release after these 64 tasks are done, I do also have a feeling they'll come up with another excuse as to why they have to delay. I'm hoping the devs will prove us wrong and release it but given the track record of lack of communication and just constant delays I don't know what to think. Like I say it does seem like a plausable scenario but I'm not going to sit here and call them scammers unless there's solid proof to say. But once again I will say the devs Don't help themselves when they don't tell us anything until last minute or show us anything solid. Rendered pictures don't count as they don't represent the final product and if we've only seen one clip that's two minutes long and took 3 years to deliver that also doesn't represent the final game or even official gameplay then what else are we supposed to think?
-
The tracker shows how many tasks are left, this isn't tasks since the start it's only counting the tasks they haven't done so in other words they've got a total of 64 tasks remaining out of the 1000 they've been doing for 3 years. Now once they've done all those tasks they have zero excuse whatsoever to delay it yet again
-
Technically he's right, while it's the fifth delay it's only the second time it's been delayed while given an official release date
-
Can't say i blame you. it feels like to a lot of people the game doesn't even exist and they've just been fucking around for the last 3 years doing whatever. there's no solid game play and all we have are rendered pictures which isn't solid game play. the meth lab clip took 3 years to give us and even that was poorly put together. I've given them another chance but that doesn't mean i forgive them for all of this. frankly as you say by now they should have had a few things completed but most of it isn't even near done. part of me thinks that they're stringing people along hoping they can keep their money until the post 180 days point so that they can't get refund. if they don't have solid proof to present us by the end of may then people should be considering filing a lawsuit for fraud because frankly at this point i and many others are starting to feel like this game will never come

Chances are you'll have to steal them from warehouses and such like in breaking bad

#I am currently in mixed feelings following the first model......○_○

Agreed, they knew well in advance that it wasn't coming out on said date yet they chose to let us keep thinking it would and then acted surprised when people lashed out, that's just utter poor communication and as much as beach ball is a swell guy he should have known what would happen as he's community manager so either they didn't tell him which is even poorer communication or he knew but decide not to say anything, I'd like to believe it's the former -
All I can say is I'm glad to see the majority of people are still sticking by the devs, it means more people believe in this game than don't
-
Unfortunately threads like this put doubts in people's minds, someone like me who has had full faith from day one now doesn't know where to stand because my mind is pondering on whether it is a scam. Deep down I believe this is genuine but the lack of communication from the devs doesn't help anyone and only makes it worse when the delays happen
-
Was a good run but I'm not waiting anymore.

After everyone's calmed down we need to take a step back and think about things logically. Yes it's a real pain that they've delayed it once again however paratus posted a statement yesterday saying that because this is the second time they've delayed under an official release date they would put the dev tracker on although I partly believe that they should have anyway because paratus stated in Dev blog sixteen they were going to show us live Data and such and seems they're only doing it now as damage control. However the point remains now that because they've put a task tracker on we can now hold them accountable if it takes too long and they keep delaying despite the fact they only have 64 tasks to do with 5 or so already being completed -
Look people just need to chill, I've seen a few people go off the rail at the devs which is unnecessary. Like I said before sure get it off your chest like I did but take a chill pill and relax, everyone's annoyed that it's been delayed but common sense prevails and common sense says that the devs will release it when it's ready hence why they've removed a release date altogether and have put the dev tracker on
-
i've calmed down a lot since the delay was announced, sure get it off your chest but don't go overboard like i kind of did. i didn't realise it at the time but there is a difference between venting and going over the top
-
http://www.identityrpg.com/info/modules/townsquare/ i claimed that nothing was being done to show progress, evidently i was wrong and that the delay may not be as bad as i thought, so i apologise for my distress and lashing out as such
-
because none of us saw that coming eh?
-
it is when twice in a row a date has been given with confidence and assurance only to be taken back just before release

A LOOK INSIDE THE ASYLUM In keeping with our committment to transparency and open communication with the community, our new website will soon be launching (even before the Town Square). The new website will have all sorts of shop options for you to check out, but one of the more interesting aspects will be our development tracker. We're going to be showing you exactly where our development stands in regards to each milestone, such as the Town Square release. You're going to see live data showing what we're working on and how long we expect each element to take. Then, following the Town Square release we'll keep this going for each future development milestone. It'll sort of be like looking over our shoulders in the office yourself. this was taken from dev blog sixteen, haven't seen a single shred of truth from this. no live data and no transparency or open communication. nothing but talk talk and talk. far from "looking over our shoulders in the office yourself".
-
that's dangerously optimistic pal. by their track record we're looking two years away from the first module, Christ i don't want to imagine how much shit we'll go through with module 2 and 3
-
I was thinking that, hence why I only suggested you weren't bright if it was the case you were referring to me haha. Yeah I kind of agree with you, I wouldn't say an embarrassment but it is highly unprofessional for them to keep doing this, nothing to show for it but all talk
-
Yeah well only time will tell, I might be more forgiving than others but that doesn't mean I'll keep putting up with delays because they can't get their act together
-
They shouldn't be announcing a f*****g release date in the first place. If they can't get their shit done on time then don't get people's hopes up thinking it'll come out, they've had more than enough chances and time and they've had nothing to show for it except a two minute clip that's taken nearly 3 years to give us. Highly unprofessional frankly. Anyone can post rendered pictures but we want to see actual game play footage so we know this ain't bullshit, yet we can't even get a simple trailer, why you ask? Because at this stage I'm starting to think they've not actually got anything and have just been taking us for mugs, sure as hell feels like it
-
Except for the fact that they can't even give us a video, it took nearly 3 years just to give us a 2 minute clip that could have been made in 2 weeks, yet they still can't get together a trailer for town square either. The TS trailer and website were supposed to be released by now and Because once again they haven't met their deadline it means we're the ones paying the price. In the real world if you start something you are expected to meet deadlines, they knew this would be challenging and complex but wanted to do it anyway, they should have been more prepared. Not my fault they can't meet deadlines, if I was in a job and kept needing extensions I'd have been sacked
-
Might want to actually point who you're referring to, and if by chance it happens to be me then you're clearly not that bright if you think someone is an embarrassment just because they're rightly Calling out asylum on this bullshit.
-
I could understand if they were keeping us up to date, but they aren't and never do despite one or two of paratus updates saying we would be kept up to date hell after all that's why they have a community manager. I could forgive all this if they actually tried to let us know what's happening but they don't, they leave it until the last minute and then say oops sorry. They don't show us anything they don't post anything they just tell us it'll be out on a date and then delay it, they're shit at communication no argument with that. They need to get their act together and start convincing us they're genuine Because right now myself and a load of others now feel cheated and betrayed.
-
I agree with you on some level but mostly for the part that a lot of people are now going to be extremely pissed, we all saw this coming and to think otherwise is just nonsensical. They've lost a lot of people's trust after this because it's nothing but delays and being kept in the dark, what exactly have they got to show us? This whole ridiculous mentality of wanting first impressions to be the best is doing them more harm than good, I would have defended the devs on anything but after this they have got a lot of making up to do and reconvincing to people. Get your bloody act together or wave goodbye to pledgers, your choice guys Because you literally have no excuse for this other than you didn't get shit done on time so now we've got to wait yet another month because even if you say it could be a week or two we Know you'll just delay on that Iike everything else
-
And how many more times are we going to have to deal with "well sorry guys need another month because whatever" twice in a row they've said it's coming out on a specific date and twice they've taken it back and delayed it less than 5 days before it's due, sorry but there's only so many times you can keep doing this, paratus said last time they had everything almost done, what exactly have they got to show for a months work? Jack shit that's what
