Time for them to admit it isn't steam's fault
TOPGUNGUY123 replied to Frisky's topic in The Town Square
uhh actually, its already been processed and approved, the steam partner website says after a game is approved then the steam page is public, so they have some version of a working build sense it also says they have to have the game uploaded before they can set a release date which steam shows was today, so its there in some level and approved, the steam page says this: Once your page has been approved, you will need to use the green "Release App" button that appear on the top of your product landing page in Steamworks at the time you wish to release your title. Approved titles will not release themselves -- you need to use these controls yourself at the moment you wish your product to be released. -
ok I know ive done rants in the past but tonight's twitch stream completely changed the way I look at this game. I can tell by the voices in that stream these people are tired and realize the community is starting to loose hope and are trying everything possible to get this out but get hit with roadblock after roadblock. so here is my message to the devs: the road has been long and hard and we understand your trying to hold this dream of yours together to only see trolls and idiots coming by with a hammer hit it and complain that's its broken and a scam. I doubt anyone who backs this game thinks its a scam because what kind of moron would back something they think is fake? but im getting off topic to the devs thanks for you hard work and trying to make this amazing game that will change rpg games for years to come. I have one request please don't stream town square again unless its something new you guys are showing, a lot of up had our hopes up last night but unfortunately only saw things weve seen in the past. I think something you can do to combat these scam rumors is livestream you guys working on the ui problems and testing them instead kinda of like jade and a few other modelers were doing on twitch. if you guys were doing this day by day or even once a week I guarantee no more trolls would argue because they could see the problems and not working and maybe even someone who codes would be watching one day and see what needs to be fixed? anyway good luck identity and keep on working to prove the trolls wrong

well like I said in the original post I still got hope, I only paid 60$ so id be happy just getting town square to know I tried to be part of something this big

ok this is like the 2nd or third time asking about this but this time its different. I still have high hopes for this game but now this is becoming a joke. this 1 task which is apparently the only thing standing in the way of release was something to do with a elevator and something with designing houses. why is this 1 task taking so long compared to the others? the longest we had to wait before this one was only like a day or 2 with no updates but this 1 task has been in (testing) for almost 3 months now, the devs say they are wanting the first look to be the best experience possible but the longer it takes the future becomes for cloudy for this game. what if they need a investor or deal with a service or something in the future and then that company does research and see how long it took them for 1 task to be completed? at this point I think they need to just say forget the elevator and whatever is broken, release the game and fix it while we play. every day more rants are popping up and more youtubers (big ones with over 50k subs) are dising the game causing more rants., im not just wanting them to release a game anymore so I can play it but because every day makes the future look more bleak now. don't believe me? ok if asylum said in a month they were releasing mod tools available for preorder? or a new concept? or something who at this point would really expect that update to be on time. again im not dissing the game and have talked quite a few people into getting this game but im starting to get really worried for the future. again cant wait for identity

how did it work in ww2? how did it work with bill gates making Microsoft? how about releasing the PlayStation? all these stories are about products that were not suppose to release for a while longer. bill gates wanted to wait 3 more months before releasing the first public version of widows. the first PlayStation was suppose to take another 2 years before launch. and if you want to compare Vietnam to a rpg game in nam they strategically planned almost every battle for long periods of time, the nva or north Vietnamese army were constantly attacking with almost no plan whatso ever they had a base idea of what to do and attacked and they pretty much won so....
-
oh and to all the people saying this game should wait? one of historys most common quotes are from George patton after ww2 A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.this is the truth behind success at home or on the battlefield

well in that theory when the town square launches people will complain about the silly way people run or complain that not enough work was put into apartments people will always complain no matter what but asylum saying they cant release the game because its got game breaking bugs and that's why they cant release it because they don't want a bad rep if something is wrong but now the town square is in testing still but its working enough to let a streamer who has over 130k followers stream it with a group of friends??? now im thinking they are intentionally delaying it for some other reason as I didn't see any issues on the twitch stream today other than a server restart, 1 person falling through a table and a single person desyncing over and over making me believe that the desync was something to do with her pc

if they sent a code via steam but identity were the ones paid then the bank charge backs the person who recived the funds. so if someone called a bank and said I paid for a game and im not getting access I want a refund (even though they donated instead of bought) they would start a claim. and if they investigate and determine that "Hey this guy paid and recived a code for the game but has no access" someone who doesn't know about games which most bankers don't I assume then would side with the claimant. after that the bank pulls it from identitys bank and then theyre bank slaps them with a 35$ chargeback
-
I feel like that's gonna make it a lot worse. if people get tired of waiting and decide they want a refund and identity says oh no we cant give you a refund because 4 months ago you redeemed your key which still hasn't released the game were sorry. that's gonna tick a lot of people off feeling like that was the only reason they released the codes and then people will just call the banks and make a claim which for each claim the bank charges 35$ normally and some banks offer claims up to 6 months. identity really needs to be careful here
-
yea I am loosing faith too. especially when they say they were going to livestream a demo with that stream which was delayed and honestly not going to be surprised if next week they say they are delaying the stream to iron out something

I just think there have been so many buggy games on launches that were successful because while fixing the problems they let the community tell them whats broken and needs fixing. like battlefield4 is just one example of a large company doing it but tons of small creators had betas with bugs and become extremely successful because the community wasn't sitting waiting for a small piece of beta which is so far 5 months after the most recent release date (april 5th) but still got nothing. wow just realized you were pretty much agreeing with me
-
well that's odd beacuase I was told by a moderator which I wont mention by name that said the only issues they are dealing with were the elevator and designing apartments. they also had a issue with server crashes that has mostly been resolved. when did Motown post that? I see it says today but I mean did you find it in a photo form somewhere or was that on the discord today?

patience? ive been here sense 2015. I backed on kickstarter, lost the log in and now backed on here. ive been waiting over 2 years. trust me im not impatient

ok good points, I would still like a version where even appartments were removed or (under renovation) just to play now.

ok I get that game development takes a long time but im getting suspicious of this tracker, people are saying its taking so long because they have to test the modual after implementing something new... ok sounds reasonable, but why is this 1 task taking so long, im pretty sure its been on there 2 months. this tracker was added im pretty sure in april and from april to last month got close to 70 task done, so why is this last one regarding user interface taking so long? the only things that are in ts are watching movies, communicating, apartment design, and a couple other really small things, does anyone know what in userface is taking over a month of tryting to add in that's apparently harder to fic than ui, ux, gameplay, envoroment, systems and graphics? its just starting to seem that this is taking way to long than normal, were currently 4 months past the last release date and 6 months past the one before that, someone please tell us. what specificly is taking so long so we can understand instead of thinking you guys are trying to fix a positioning issue on a invatory screen or if your trying to fix a bug that completely crashes the game if designing a apartment, if we know we would be way more understanding. someone please tell us something!

Tracker makes no sense? Why is it Taking so long?
TOPGUNGUY123 replied to TOPGUNGUY123's topic in The Town Square
well, atleast we got some answers, just wish they could give some time of eta sense they've been on this one task for soo long -

TOPGUNGUY123 replied to DanDud88's topic in The Town Square
well you have your opinion but I have been watching it for months, they really need to figure something out fast, they said 5 months ago the track wouldn't take too long and a task will be completed every few days, at this point they can easyly release it on steam as a early closed beta. there have been kickstarter games that have been launched on there that had litarly no textured buildings, no gameplay mechanics or anything like that. they need to release what they have soon or a lot of people are probably done regarding what ive seen on the forums -

They've been on one task for 2 months, 1 month it was in progress the next month, this month it's been in testing. A big YouTuber recently talked about it where he used a Chrome extension that let you view older versions of the same web page and they've been on one task since early June -
The Elephant In The Room that most backers ignore !
TOPGUNGUY123 replied to thevopia's topic in The Town Square
im honestly starting to get aggravated myself. we were told the tracker was there so we could see the progress of the module, WHAT PROGRES! its been 2 months a user interface has been in testing, -

I just don't understand how weve been on 1 task in testing for 2 months? -
I get that we needed something new but to me it feel more like a futuristic website game layout, I like that you can buy individual things now compared to the packages but I just dont like the feel, everything feels way to big under moduals and cramed together. am I the only one feeling this?
-
what do you guys think will happen after the tracker is fullfilled?
TOPGUNGUY123 replied to DarkEdit's topic in The Town Square
nah they wouldn't do this..... theyd make another kickstarter or send no email and put the money in bank accounts in the Bahamas -

TOPGUNGUY123 replied to DanDud88's topic in The Town Square
uhh actually they did, it was one of the dev blogs where they said updates to the tracker will be daily and no task should take more than a few days to complete. that's why everyone was speculating June - august release date -

ive been backing this game for 3 years, im starting to loose hope myself. weve gone from 2016, 2017 early 2018 march and april release dates. if its not out by nov 1st im requesting a full refund and will pay once its actually available as a build
