The big white box, I'll put another one below It's a link. You click on where is says "My view on deaths and respawns" at the top of the box. I'm not exactly sure what your point is though.

Yep, you totally got me... I mean, would you rather me copy and paste my huge paragraph here rather than just posting a link to it?

Just thought I'd add to this, I have made a post regarding this topic, so you should go check it out

A way to regulate the criminal population?
ThatGuyJoe replied to Calico's topic in Ideas & Suggestions
Sorry to say @Ubbe, but I'm slightly sceptical about your idea. It all depends on how jobs work. Imo, it shouldn't be that easy to just from job to job, there should be dedicated people doing certain jobs, who are experienced, and don't just hop into the job when it's paying well. If your system was in place, and you could just hop into the police job, (similar to games such as dark RP and perp on Gmod), When there are lots of criminals and police get paid a lot, assuming criminals could become cops (extremely unlikely if they have been caught previously), some criminals might decide it's a better deal to be a cop will become a cop. If a lot of people do this, there will be more cops than criminals, so cops will get paid less, and it will be a better deal to be a criminal, you can see the pattern. If criminals are not allowed to be cops, which I'm guessing anyone who has a criminal record will definitely not be able to do, then I don't even think this idea would really make too much of a difference, as criminals would probably stay criminals, and as for people with normal jobs, I doubt they would want to ditch their shop just because they get paid more as a cop. I think if you get a job, you should have working hours, and have to go to it every day or get fired, and maybe have a cooldown if you quit or get fired, stopping you from joining back soon after, or even maybe not let your current character go back to that job, although that's too extreme for some people. It's also meant to be pretty realistic, and changing the pay of a cop depending on the ratio of criminals obviously isn't. I'm imagining they will make the pay for cops pretty close to how much cops get paid, probably the same as the area the games main town is based in (which I can't remember the name of). If the cops pay is high enough, I think plenty of people will have an incentive to be a cop, and lot's of players would be one anyway. I do think criminals should be able to make more money, but it should be pretty easy to catch them, so there is high risk. Sorry if this isn't structured too well, I just made it up as I went, but you probably know what I mean. -
I'm not too sure what you mean, to be honest. In real life, you could go up to someone's house and just hit the door... Boom and they are in. What do you mean nobody else can walk through the door, isn't it the exact opposite, if the door was broken, wouldn't that mean anyone could get in. Anyway, I don't think it is a good idea like I said, I'm just giving a solution. Just to clear things up I know why having people basically teleport to houses would improve performance, My point was that having people be able to break into your house without an invite doesn't affect this, although like @Ubbe mentioned, there would be certain issues with a system like that. It's a lot easier if the devs just stick with their decision, which I'm 90% sure they will.
-
Yeah, the idea ,though, is that couldn't criminals just hit the door with a crowbar or whatever or picklock the door and then be let inside without an invite. This wouldn't have an effect on the fps or anything. I'm pretty sure the devs have talked about why this won't happen anyway, and I doubt they will change their mind, they have good reasoning behind it.

I know this is unrelated, but from my experience on dark RP, nobody really has a house as such, more of a base, and even if it is a house it normally has boarded up windows etc, with stuff like printers or drugs. I'm guessing, since It's unclear in identity if you can have drugs and such in your house, that criminals will probably be able to buy small warehouses or something along those lines, so you could maybe get the same kind of thrill from that? Especially since a criminal isn't likely to have a burglar alarm, at least one that informs the police. To get more on topic though, I think it is a pretty good idea, so long as like you said, it's easy to get caught, and that you are quite unlikely to get away with it, just to make sure everybody doesn't do it, and if in the beta it's found out that it is abused, they could easily fix it or remove it. It's better to cut content out the beta that doesn't work than not try it. Also, I'm just wondering how it wold affect performance in any way at all. As far as I can see, If your friends can get in with an invite, why not criminals without an invite?

Will you be able to play music through radio stations?

Just trying to be helpful, sorry if I came across as rude or anything. -
Will you be able to play music through radio stations?
ThatGuyJoe replied to Ubbe's topic in Ideas & Suggestions
Yeah, I know but, why not just call it a suggestion? I know I'm just being picky, and I guess a bit of a dick, but It's just there seems to be lots of questions and it gets annoying. -

So is this not basically the first module - the town square? Imo, I think the beta that they will release should be the whole map, as I imagine they want to find out the bugs etc, and to be fair, I don't think it's going to be a beta like is seen in other games, where they stay in early access for years, I think they will release the beta when they have most of the core mechanics there, to find bugs or glitches before the main release, and see how well the general gameplay goes on, and how well the economy works. The beta can mean they can test all of these before release, so if there are glitches or problems which mean people get too much money, and therefore guns etc, making an unbalanced game, they can change it before release, and then reset everyone, and people can't really complain. I also read that it will let them test their anti-cheat, and if any hacks are made they can improve their anti-cheat and fix it, and get rid of all the hacked items before release On another note, seriously, what is your problem? You say James is " just another backer fan ", but to be honest imo, he is much more. He is extremely active on ,at least, the suggestion forum, and im sure the others as well, and is very helpful, and like someone said before, knows a lot more than a lot of people do about the game. Great, now I sound like his fan boy or something. You said " Share this idea or have other ideas? " and the first person who does this, in an informative way, you go off it, and start having a go at him, nit picking every word he says, cough cough *we*, oh no, how offensive. Not to say that there is a lot more mistakes in your posts, which doesn't bother me, but still. "way you are talking is just disrespectful ". Pretty rich coming from the person who says " You talk a lot about WE your the spokesperson of everybody your a real character jeezz " To somebody who took the time to reply to your post, and Is a lot more experienced on the forums, and who I can pretty much guarantee knows a lot more about the game than you. "Indeed should be like adults take some feedback". Again, pretty rich considering what I mentioned in the last paragraph, and also, for the record, "Kickapoo Your name says it all". Yeah, what an adult thing to say, commenting on his name, wow, that has *soo* much to do with the topic. James was, and does talk in a much more adult manner than you. Overall, please learn to take some criticism maybe (if that's honestly what you think it is), and maybe get some respect as well? Edit - @Kickapoo I can't agree more with your posts. Edit 2 - So I was looking through the forums, and guess what, I found another one of your comments 'hurray'. I'm going to paste them here to back up my points " I dont care what you stated im not only talking to you", and yet another hypocritical statement " If you are a sensitive guy i will set your little heart at ease". Like seriously, what the fuck?

Yeah, to be honest, I can't agree more, especially with this topic which is brought up every 5 minutes. Plus, when has this ever been a suggestion or an idea? Sorry to be a bit harsh but this is happening all the time. -
RDM-KOS
ThatGuyJoe replied to marleyisme's question in Tourism (Q&A)
I've already talked about this in a reply to another post, So I will copy paste what I said: To be honest, in my opinion, rdm can't exist in this game, because of how realistic it is. I go into a bit more detail in my post about death and respawn, but I'll sum it up here and put a link below. I think every type of killing should be allowed, so long as the punishment is suitable and harsh enough to stop people from 'rdming'. I'll use your example 'Ilean Dover'. So let's say this guy does what you described, if there is a good enough law system, he will surely get caught. For one, if he was drifting around the corners there would probably be tire marks for police to find, then the bullet casing, and then also the police would probably get to the scene quite quickly assuming the gunshot was heard and send several police vehicles to find suspicious vehicles speeding away from the scene. Or, the crime could go un-noticed, and the killer never found if there isn't a good CSI system, which I'm sure there will be, and for that matter even if there is 'Ilean Dover' might get away with this rdm, but it's unlikely, and would be a good bit of roleplay for investigators. But back to the point, 'Ilean Dover ', with his fast cars, nice pistol, presumably plenty of money (Guns are meant to be quite expensive), why would he risk going to jail, and probably losing a fair bit, especially if his property is not legit, why would he waste his time murdering some guy minding his own business walking in what sounds like the middle of nowhere, or at least somewhere with no witnesses. Basically, I don't think rdm will exist because every way you can be killed in game can be explained through RP, and imo, random killing or even crime against other players shouldn't be *too* common, as guns seem pretty hard to get, and if the detective job is well thought out, then it should be easy enough to find who did the crime and get them in jail, making them loose the gun they worked for, and probably some other things as well, especially illegal items. Aside from this, if there was a harsher jail system, which has the death penalty for extreme offenses (and death means death), and longer jail sentences, I think the amount of what you might consider as rdm would go down a lot. I touched on this in a post I made, so it might be worth reading, but maybe not. ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓ -
Is this gonna be a "gta 5" similar game?
ThatGuyJoe replied to JimmyPokeGames's question in Tourism (Q&A)
To be fair, there are much better games to compare it to, such as the perp game-mode/server on gmod, but as others said I suppose you could imagine it as a more serious version of gta?
