Wtf no, No aliens. This is a realistic game. Plus there are only a few NPCs in the game and I can guarantee aliens won't be one. Also you will not be able to play as an alien that would be the dumbiest thing ever.

Also if the game comes to steam, which Mosy likely is, then you can just shift + tab join them.

@Paratus Can you answer if players can get banned on official servers for "rdm"?

The devs have talked about there being a university with classes to learn skills and tutorials on perticular jobs I would imagine. Would be cool to be a proffesor, don't know if that will happen though.

It will not be a ban. Now on private servers yes. But on official servers you won't be banned for "rdm", but the devs do have systems to stop/prevent/contain it.

Not 100% sure but I believe I read pets will only be able to stay in your home at release, but the Devs are hoping to later after release let you take your pets out into the open world.
