You wont be able to get jobs in game (as far as I am aware) for a very long time - happy to be proved wrong, but when they release this game (if it does get released) I think there will be a problem with cash flow... Once you have spent any starting money you have... I don't believe there is any way to get any more money unless you use real world money to purchase it? ~Does anyone else know of ways to earn money in Module 1? All I can see is that it's a glorified chatroom with a hint of the sims thrown in for apartment customisation?

I'm back.... And I'm not here with good news.....

Why is everyone still pent up on this tracker? It is not a real thing... the tasks don't relate to anything. My favourite part is that the bugs section of the tracker is complete!! This should be the last one to be completed. Having worked in bug tracking for a long time, the bugs are never complete as that list is added to on a daily basis... The tracker is full on horse shite - it's a method used to give the devs a change to not provide a release date - that's it... -
did you rreally expect anything else?
-
it is something they will never share properly... the longer they can keep it a secret, the longer they have to avoid a release date.
-
That's already happened... 2 weeks ago! lol
-
what do you guys think will happen after the tracker is fullfilled?

I think when it's released we will receive this message: Hello valued Pledger, It's finally here! After many years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears, we are proud to present Module 1: Town Square! Unfortunately, due to lack of funding and this mammoth, unrealistic target we have set ourselves with the tiny team we have, we are going to have to stop developing all further modules as we literally cannot do what we had hoped. While this project was never intended to be a scam, it seems like turning it into one is in our best interests. We hope you enjoy your virtual online chat room, meanwhile, we are all going to Disney Land! Yours, Asylum Entertainment -
Good luck with that! My friend applied for his refund about 4 weeks ago and it has not been sanctioned... I have this feeling we have genuinely all been duped! big old scam for the lads!

House flipper looks like a decent game... however, if you think that the apartment customization is even going to be 1/5 as good as that, I think ur going to get a bit of a shock... The whole point of house flipper is to take a shit hole, clean it up, fix all the broken stuff (little mini puzzles etc), then sell to buy a bigger and better house. What is the point of customising your own apartment? Go play the sims if thats what your after... This one you will be able to choose your floor tiles... the wall paper... then buy a radio so you can sit on your chair to listen to... invite your friends over to your apartment which will most likely look identical to theirs. As I say, I am really happy to be proved wrong having pledged, but this game will lose it's whole player base when the module is released as there is nothing to do in it. There is only so many times you can change your floor tiles....

Agree, the number of people who have the wrong idea about what module 1 actually is is astonishing. You will be able to walk around, chat, go to a karaoke bar, play chess and change your outfit... I'm pretty sure u could pretty much do all this in children's visual chat rooms when I was 10 (22 year ago). The disappointment for many will be huge I feel.

This won't change until it's done now... which wont be for another month or so... I started tracking this ages ago, but since they have 'almost finished' they have not updated at all really... The tracker is not a good indicator of when the module will be released... it is a tool to attempt to keep people quiet, I doubt the tasks on there actually relate to anything to be honest.

This might be one of the last DEV TASKS REMAINING posts!!

Fair enough, most people dont have the time to be logging onto discord and checking the twitch channels... Why make it that hard? why not communicate with people more directly? -
This might be one of the last DEV TASKS REMAINING posts!!
wiebley replied to Kubert's topic in The Town Square
Seeing as the last one took around 3-4 weeks, I would hedge a bet on late august, early september for this. However, I genuinely don't think this tracker has anything to do with actual development... It has just given the devs control over a release date without having to give an actual date. There has been 0 transparency in what any of these tasks actually are/were - They probably do not correlate to anything - more just something to keep people interested and talking about the game.- 19 replies

the last few things on the tracker have been like that for almost a month... no signs of it moving or the devs relaying what these tasks actually are. I think u will have a couple more months before it gets released.
-
You are completely correct, I have been bitching and whining with the rest of them, but almost the main selling point at this moment (for TS Release I mean) for the devs is the karaoke bar... Can you actually see this being a civil place where people are going to take it in turns to sing songs? I highly doubt it! It will be full of trolls shouting obscenities down the mic and others attempting stage invades because they are bored... To be honest, it does not really matter when TS is released, its the following modules that will make or break the game... if the time frame is longer than 3 months between TS and module 2, then i really dont see this game being successful
-
This would be an accurate statement apart from one thing... Would you be inclined to purchase a game with awful release history, not to mention the current content of the game... I know for example that I can type 'chess' into my windows bar at the bottom and play chess against one of my mates if I desired to do so. Why would I pay to do that? The Karaoke bar, I think we can all agree will be a flop... How many people out there have microphone quality good enough to actually bash out a semi decent tune without static etc in the background? The tattoo parlour (not sure if that will actually be ready with initial release) will be fun for all of 5 minutes. There is probably only so many times you can customise ur apartment before that gets old. You could go to the cinema... to watch a film inside a game? The GTA V strip clubs probably had more engaging content that watching a film on a screen smaller than your own screen and that got old after 5 minutes. Essentially, TS is the foundation of the game, the engine... it isnt a game as such, not one which will generate sales anyhow. The whole concept of this game relies on a good, solid playerbase - unfortunately in this case, that playerbase is on the decline every day before they are even over the first hurdle.
-
Invite them over... to do what?
-
i very much doubt it... they will cut and run. A lot of that money will have been spend developing the game so will already be gone. Just had 2 of the chaps I was going to play with apply for refunds. its such a shame, the game has/had so much promise.

In my opinion this game unfortunately will not run its course... They will probably release TS around late august to early september, by then everyone will be even more pissed than they are now and what will happen when they login to TS? Be able to walk around, play chess and sing some karaoke? Everyone is begging for TS to be released, not really realising that it is literally just the engine? Oh wait... i think you can pick up a paper too... So following this release, people will get their refunds because there is nothing to actually do in the game and the time frame between modules will clearly be a very long process with minimal communication from devs to investors. This will equal a pissed off player base who as I just said, will either get a refund, or just simply stop playing the game. By the time the full game comes out (if it ever actually does) it will have lost its player base, community and will not get off the ground properly. The more likely outcome is it getting almost to module 2 and the whole thing just crashing down due to lack of funding.

The bank and the Coffee Shop look incredible! So lovely and bright! Love the hanging leaves in the coffee shop too! Good job!

Apologies for promoting my channel incorrectly. I didn't realise that was a thing, but will take that on board. My thoughts were that there must be a reason why a company as big as rockstar or ubisoft havnt thought about taking on a challenge this big before? GTA is probably the closest thing there has been (in terms of huge open world games where you can interact with a lot of the scenery/objects etc) and from what I can understand there have been a lot of claims from the devs about how interactive this game is going to be. The closest thing I can liken it to is GTA or perhaps Arma. When you compare the size of those companies teams and finance at their disposal to Identity, it dosnt come anywhere close. I genuinely hope that I am wrong because I have really high hopes for this game and really hope the devs can deliver
-
This is a really good thread. This is my main worry about the game. Have they advertised something that in reality they cannot deliver? I really hope not. With the current team, I think they have, but I am assuming they are hoping that once the core of the game is released in beta, they get more funds to employ more devs to expand the game to their aspirations. I actually use this post as a talking point on my new channel.
