First of all, the horror, that someone wants to make their own assets! Never heard of before! (Note the sarcasm) Second of all, for the first module, they finished the assets ages ago, they're just making sure everything is good and dandy working, if the tracker is anything to go by.

You can't really compare a game with chess pieces to a gun, as in real life, plenty of board games have alternate rules made up by players, while a gun, is a gun, no matter what. The only thing you can change in the gun would be Russian roulette shooting, apart from that, not too customizable, unlike a board game like chess. As we're using chess as an example: you can change the number of pieces, their position, their roles, the rules itself. So limiting chess to one set of rules is quite limiting, especially when in reality this is only the case in certain competitions. Hope this bit of info helped! =)

[It's Tuesday, they never post updates during the weekends, as is their right, and if I am not mistaken, they had a holiday yesterday. It is normal for, at the beginning of the week, to have 3-5 days delay in updates. They are entitled to weekends and days off as well.]

As you've used this as an example, I will continue with it. If I post progress pictures of something I am cooking, I will post pictures of: the dough, it being in the oven, it being finished, the decorating process or ordering the food on the plate so it looks nice. And just because I have posted those pictures, and not the recipe, doesn't mean that I haven't followed one while making it, but only have showed others the progress of my dish. If someone were to ask for the recipe of what I've showed others, I may or may not give it to them, depending on what the possible consequences are. I hope this helped clear things up =)

Maybe they do have it, but they have it visible on the other site that they are building, or maybe it's somewhere in the forums, or another corner of this site. Or maybe they will show it to you if you ask for it. It's is usually unprofitable to just fire accusations without talking to someone who is in the personal know-how of the situation. Each company is different, each have their own reasons and experiences, as well as their own motivations, and maybe, instead of disproportionating their mistakes, you accepted that, yes, they will make them, that they are a starting company with a small team, some members of which do this out of love rather than money (it is their personal project, rather than solely for profit like some other companies do).

I´ve been reading the Discord chats vigorously, and I can say that DagTag isn´t relaying information from another backer, but from one of the various moderators, as well as answers previously given by them on the forums. As far as I have seen, he simply repeats what the moderators have said, as well as sometimes speaking from experience. This being said, the only arrogance I see in these posts are your own, as well as that of those who ignore the words of the people who work on the project, and know what is going on first-hand. Trusting someone is not a sign of arrogance, and will never be. If he has done his research as he says, and if he has seen the same messages I have, I can back him up and say that this project is trustworthy, but that due to its magnitude, and the small team that is working on it, it is normal to expect delays. Programming is never easy, especially in a project this complex, and remember, they built the engines themselves, so it´s normal that it takes extra time. A project from scratch will take time. Even if they released an official statement, people will still ask the same questions, and blame the team for not releasing the game as swiftly as Ubisoft can, or other big companies with large teams. Not only that, but as I´ve said above, the information stated by Dag has been said by moderators, both on Discord and in the Forums.
