And you can predict the future? No, you cant, you are being totally pessimistic. Yeah the game has had bumps and blablabla but first of all, the TS is close to release and there is already being worked on the second module, these modules also take less time. So this game will probably release even when they have had delays. Because there are always those who know the risk of backing a game and dont refund with the slightest problem.
-
I am not trying to be mean or anything but you didnt pay for a product, you helped back a project. If you cant handle delays and even more delays then maybe you shouldnt have backed in the first place... As i stated before i m not trying to be mean but there are a lot of people who think they paid for a product, people like these actually give the developers a hard time by first giving their money and then taking that away again...
-
Whats your point?
-
Is that really the way to greet a new person, he just got here and you are already telling him to get out, just because you dont believe in this game doesnt mean others dont
-
idk if you realize but your whole answer is irrelevant... I literally debunked ALL of your statements and yet you come back with some BS excuses... if you don't have anything constructive to say then just don't say anything at all. Stop spreading lies and admit your defeat, all you have proven is that you don't know anything off what you are talking about.

Its not though, the first module includes the whole base of the game, sometimes the base of a game can take way more time than the rest... They are not a year overdue, they would be if the 2017 release date was set in stone, it was not... it was an estimated release date. They are however 3 months overdue, yes its still overdue but overdue by 1/4th of what you claim. The other modules are not more complex as the basics of the game have already been implemented, as lucky already stated, there wont be a significant amount of AI, as good as the whole population of identity will be real people, that's the whole point of this game. This would be really annoying. The good thing about these modules is that you know what you will be able to do from what module, whats the point of releasing a roleplay game if for example hairdressers or cars are not implemented yet, a game like this cant just be released with many small updates. Star Citizen is probably the worst example you can give here... first of all their pledge shop is waay too overpriced, secondly these quarterly releases are more than bad for the game even with optimization updates. I don't know if you have ever played star citizen but the amount of lag and frame drops in the game make it unplayable, and before you go blame my rig/ internet, I have a beast pc and excellent internet so no its not that.

One down, two to go! Let's try and guess the Town Square release date, just for fun.
dagtag replied to Aerotactics's topic in The Town Square
its true that they havent met release dates and have delayed, but if above that they release a buggy town square they wont hear the end of it. So it is probably in their best interest to make the first module as perfect as they can get it -

because releasing a buggy module is not a good marketing strategy, testing takes a long time, they test the code get the bug out retest the code get another bug out etc etc, fixing one bug can cause 10 more bugs. -
Okay I must hand it to you, in that video there are a lot of bad comments indeed
-
seems like you are seeing comments that I am not, out of the comments I browsed through(which were a lot) only 2% had something bad to say...
-
but up until now the only thing that was available was a concept... once an actual product is available, people will get lured in
-
its possible that some people have asked for a refund, so yea the number might have dropped
-
yeah but he also suggested they should just include the beta access to the cheapest package so I was making clear to him that if that would happen the price for the cheapest option would go up
-
if the beta access was included in the preorder it would probably cost 30$, the 15$ option is only for those who want to save money and don't want to bother with beta access...

The last couple tasks obviously take longer, hold in account that the development team for module one is much smaller now since the rest has moved on to module two. Also testing for bugs takes a long time, they have to run different scenarios first, when that's done they have to find the bug and fix it which makes another bug appear that they have to test again and so on and so on. They probably kept the most difficult tasks for later that's why its taking a bit longer. TS is close to finished and will probably release within the month.
-
Oh my god... they are taking it seriously, the task tracker is taking it seriously, this is so you wont be disappointed when the release date isn't met... Regarding the second module they are already working on it, do your research man. and promised years ago? pall if you mean their first estimated release date which was beginning 2017, that wasn't promised since it was estimated.
-
Because not everyone in the development team is specialized in the same thing, even if they were specialized in the same thing it would take just as long because the people who would have to change tasks would still need to read through all the code since they didn't write it.
-
Nothing changed today, the tracker automatically updates but to show the update on the website they have to update that manually, it says that it was updated today because the manual update was done today, this is just done to let people know this is the progress how it is now. I hope this clears things out
-
Releasing a game full of bugs is pointless, people will be complaining about the updates, about crashes, about bugs themselves. Saying the game will contain bugs doesn't mean that people wont complain about them. And yes, they raised 1 million dollars which all goes in the game, this is acceptable, look up how much it costs to make a game and how long it can take, once you have done that you probably understand why its taking so long...
-
So you are complaining that the expected release date was not met? People don't seem to understand that it was an EXPECTED release date, not an official one, delays can happen, and these delays are for the better, it probably means they are implementing some stuff they didn't plan which is good. Stop giving these guys such a hard time...
-
Yes they could give another release date, but what if something goes wrong and the date gets pushed back again? then you will be bitching here again about the fact that the release date was pushed back again. Its never good enough for you people, first you whine about the fact that the release date wasn't met and that they shouldn't have announced a release date to begin with, then you start bitching about the fact that there isn't a release date. Not giving a release date but a tracker is a good thing... it lets you follow the progress, there is no answer to your ridiculous question.

still doesn't make sense though -
I might have joined this forum back then but i have pledged waaay before that and i have been waiting ever since the first news about identity, just because you read a date on my profile doesnt mean you know how long i have been waiting pall, if the money was an issue then why buy the game in the first place... stop whining FYI i did not bend the facts Its a fact that the development team had to rewrite the code Its a fact that the payment providers havent replied about the website Its a fact that the development team for module 1 is smaller and the rest has moved on to other tasks Ask anyone else, these are not opinions these are facts, if you dont know the difference perhaps you will have to go to school again And preston is right, i am sick and tired of replying as well, i am not even gonna bother anymore since you people just ignore facts and call them opinions, grow a pair and f***ing wait, noone forced you to pledge 30 bucks and yet you did, i pledged 250 and i know the value of that kind of money but at least i aint bitching

Delays can happen in games, and no testing for bugs is not just "pressing some buttons", a bug can exist without persisting all the time, try making a game you will see that for yourself, secondly you seem like a spoiled little brat who always gets what he wants, there is no point in arguing with my previous post as all I did was state facts, facts cannot change and therefor all your thoughts you shared here have no effect on those FACTS. The plan of the devs however as you put it is wrong as well, as someone explained previously not everyone knows everything in the team, they have certain expertise and when the task of a certain someone is done what do you expect them to do? sit on their ass? you don't wanna trust in the development? sure go ahead, ask for a refund but don't start complaining about anything and everything. There are people here who have waited just as long if not longer than you and are still patient, so again take an example to us, give the devs some slack and patiently wait.
-
okay so what you are saying is you would rather have the first module ASAP and then wait ages again for the next module? By putting people on other tasks the modules will release closer to each other. and they never 'promised' anything, they gave an estimated release date, not an official one. This argument is not silly, its factual and factual arguments are the only good ones... where are your arguments if mine are so bad? and lastly there are a lot of people who have been waiting since 2014 and are still patiently waiting, take an example to them and wait.
