  1. I want to know where you all stand. Again

I'm exactly where I was when I first came across this game early last year, although that's not to say I'm 100% expecting this game to release and I never have been! I know how crowd funding works and that will be the same after the release of TS and up until full release. I however am not particularly worried about delays or the regression from release date to task bar (if I'm honest, I think that's probably the best thing the Dev's could have done IMO). I've backed and followed games which haven't had delays and failed dramatically. I've backed and followed games which have been plagued with issues and delays and been successful we all like to speculate but ultimately it comes down to the motivation of the Dev's and all this nonsense, second guessing and repition on the forums won't help. Will wait and see, but a good few of the community fail to understand is that there's an inherent risk in backing early and if it's not money you can afford to loose (or simply don't want to) don't pledge...just hold out and wait for the full release.
  2. Cool, but ETA?

I agree, I honestly think this will be out sooner rather than later. I wouldn't anticipate that being beyond the end of June at the latest...
  3. Anyone here thinking about rp a serial killer?

I like the idea of this but not sure if I fully support every Tom, Dick & Harry doing it or, lets be honest, more likely using it as an excuse to RDM. I think the RP elements you mentioned would justify me personally rolling with it if I were your victim but I can't see everyone drawing the same conclusion or playing along for the broader RP...it does open the door for Detectives, Journalists, Lawyers, Jurors, in game public opinon, outcry, political pressure, urban legends, criminologists, physcologists, etc, etc. Curious about what calling cards serial killers would leave. As an struggling artist I'd kidnap my victims and paint their portraits while holding them in captivity, only murdering them when they set eyes on the finished peice and catch a troubling glimpse into the fragile mind of a deranged serial killer! Cops could either discover my collection of murder portraits or I might leave them at the scene with my victims and hide subtle clues in the painting...maybe the painting would even become valuable like the personal posessions of serial killers have become IRL... I've overthought this ?? Any other calling cards?
  4. The Identity Weekly

Brilliant idea. If you need an in game photo-journalist I'm down, just hmu! Will happily cover gory crime scenes and tense shootouts!! Hope they have 'press' hat in game ??
  5. Curriculum

I think this could be a great way of doing a character bio which players could complete and which could then be made available to all via the ingame web (if the player chooses to list it) or personally by providing a business/contact card. Looking for an artist, delivery driver, lawyer, detective, etc bang it into search and it returns any player with the relevant 'work experience'...nice and immersive but also super handy for meeting like minded folks. Probably want to limit it to 3 'work experiences' and 100 words of fluff/text.
  6. Smuggling

+1 Very cool idea! I hope at the very least contraband can be stashed in various containers like crates, bags, briefcases which can then be transported outside of a players inventory or in trunks, on flatbed trucks. Like deaddrops, leave a bale of narcotics deep in the woods for someone to collect and for police to have to stake it out. Players would have to determine if the drop was safe, people caught in the area would have to explain themselves, charges would be harder to prosecute, rival gangs could steal stashes. These containers would also accomodate artworks, books, clothes, etc so containers are not immediately associated with drugs, gun running or illegal activity by the law and average joe citizens.
  7. James P. Mumblecruster's Art Corporation

I'm oddly really looking forward to this feature and probably how I'm gling to start making my living in TS...can't wait to see what people produce and what makes it into the high end galleries ??
  8. A Practise Case For Two Law Firms

Would love to get an board and help out with in any role, aill gladly help with the prosecution. This is a great idea to kill some time productively! Kudos @Joelkeys and co
  9. Town Square Release

Ultimately I'm looking forward to establishing an empire and making my millions! Not sure exactly how that's going to play out, but will wait and see what way the economy works in a bit more detail! That and meeting all you crazy folks and seeing what way you all choose to play...
  10. Taskbar update

Aimed at nobody in particular, but I don't understand all this drama, it just seems so unnecessary. If you can't tolerate the release of the first module how are you going to survive the wait for the full release especially considering the features for TS are going to be limited initially in comparison to the vision for the full and final game. Also just because you pledged in no way guarantees you to a game or entitles you to hold the Dev's hostage, this community seems to quickly be becoming toxic. If you can't handle the practicalities of early access don't commit to it...flooding the forums with negative comments simply ruins the experience for others, of which there are many (all with different attitudes and opinions) and which also requires the attention of mods and Dev's and ultimately distracts from the development of the game.
  11. New Delay is disconcerting, but I stay the course...

@JohnNYBlaze Chill! The delays suck and it undoubtedly is concerning but it's all part of life and in particular supporting the development of indie games. I can say with every ounce of certainty that the last thing the Dev's want is a delay. They've more invested in this game than all of us combined, they've put years of sleepless nights, sweat and tears into this, we're just simply supporting that by forking over cash (albeit hard-earned!). The Dev's will want to see their vision for Identity released and receive the recognition and credit for their hard work more than any of us. There however are a huge number of factors at play including competition, maintaining the current releases and developing the future modules, community relations, monetisation, legal nonsense, HR, advertising, recruitment, blah, blah, blah, all the boring stuff that we don't really care about but which the Dev's do have to juggle. This is indeed a massive undertaking however I would not have any serious concerns right now, the Dev's might not be the best at project management (identifying the date of release, bottlenecks etc.) but that in no way indicative that this game won't feature unique or groundbreaking gameplay/mechanics or be successful. The best thing you can do to support the game is smile and grit your teeth and bare it. Let the Dev's do what they ultimately do best, DEVELOP THE GAME! Hope this doesn't come across as condescending, that's not my intention but just my 2c. Also welcome to the PC gaming club, you'll love it!
