  1. Great Game Developers, Bad PR

    You too, thanks!
  2. ITS HERE!!!

    My key isn't showing up...
  3. Great Game Developers, Bad PR

Oh, yes, I understand your point. I apologize if I seemed to be undermining it. They are certainly Struggling with PR, and it's a problem. My point was really that they seemed to be trying to balance PR and work right now. Your point is entirely valid, though.
  4. Great Game Developers, Bad PR

One mod seems to be hanging around here to answer things. I would assume the others are busy, asleep, or staying quiet to get a grasp on the situation before responding. All developers are most likely working right now.
  5. The game was submitted at least a week ago, the problem now is that the game glitched and the servers crashed. Steam had no hand to play in this, and neither did Asylum. They both thought the game was ready, but something seemed to have gone wrong. Steam isn't doing anything, so it seems this was a legitimate error that Asylum shouldn't be blamed for.
  6. A simple idea

The game now states it's not ready, so everyone who's coming in now knows something has occurred. Steam, being the large, respected company they are, seems to have no issue with the problems Identity is facing, so I trust that Asylum had no ill hand to play in this. It was an honest programming error that caused this delay.
  7. To Developers

There seems to have been some server issues that the developers need to smooth out before we can play. They're working on them as we speak, and if they aren't too severe, I'd expect the game to come out in around a few days. I don't know for sure, though.
  8. Great Game Developers, Bad PR

I am not upset with this game or its developers, but I once stated the devs have had a rough time handling the backers for Identity, and I still believe that is true. We are harsh and critical, but still vital and supportive. Neither party wants to see this game crash and burn. This should mean we're all on the same side, willing to do what is needed to try and scooch the game along, but that's not the case here. We aren't informed enough, Asylum. Thre are rumors flying around. I'm much more inclined to trust you over those rumors, of course, but I'm just one person in a sea of people who seem to be mostly upset right now. I trust you, and I will keep trusting you. Throw me off a cliff if you'd like, but I support you. You've worked hard and gotten better, but there's still some important gaps in communication. If the game is a little buggy, come clean and tell us. Development is hard. We know you're working to fix it. If there was a little delay, be open and admit it. We've all been late before. Sure, we might be disappointed, maybe even mad, but at least you'd have done the right thing. Please don't be afraid of us. We cant trust someone who doesn't trust us. I say we, but I know only speak for myself. I just hope my words ring true for others as well. Keep fighting on, Asylum. You're going to get there. <3
  9. Who screwed the pooch?

They submitted the game to Steam a bit ago. I'm assuming the servers crashing was due to a flood of players or some test that went awry. I still trust this game and its Devs. They've improved a lot from what I've seen, and perhaps it's just my nature, but I see no reason to be mad at them for this right now. I understand many people are getting impatient and fed-up with Asylum, and it's not unjustified, but they are honestly trying to fix the issue. We are still going to get our game; that much is certain fact. The time is the iffy thing here, and it wasn't like the developers intentionally broke the servers for us. Give them a little longer, please. It's hard to work when not only your big game has messed up, but there are also a legion of irate supporters on your tail. I believe in them. I'm not asking for your faith, I only beseech you to give them at least the rest of the day or so.
  10. Release status update?

That's a relief. At least they honestly had no idea this would've occurred. They're working to fix it, so all we can really do is wait for the next update on the situation. They're probably embarrassed enough as is; no need to keep berating them. Not that I want to scold them, anyways.
  11. Happy holiday IDENTITY!!!!!

For us Americans, when does this occur? I can't see the time on my Steam.
  12. New Screenshots (UPDATED)

The fact that you responded less than three hours after we asked for apartment screenshots means a lot to me. I'm glad to see that sort of engagement.
  13. New Screenshots (UPDATED)

The artists don't make code; even if they stopped making assets, it wouldn't change the process of bug fixes. They don't have experience in that, so it's up for the coders to fix the bugs that they're working on.
  14. Everyone is mad, and I get why but...

The first module was the foundation of the game; that's why it has taken so long. This module contains everything so the game can function as it should, and the other modules will go off of the coding already in place and add some new things that connect with it. The 2nd and 3rd module will take considerably less time to come out, as the base game is already in place to be added once all the additional assets are put on. It's like a cake; we have the 1st module, which is our actual bread cake. We baked it, and now it's just sitting there on the counter, warm, kinda plain, but still tasty and good on it's own. Then, the other two modules are like our frosting and sprinkles. They go on the cake, make it a lot more pretty and delicious, and everyone is happy. The cake took about 30 or 40 minutes to bake, but the frosting took around 10. We just needed the cake first. Considering this game will be built to host constant activity and people, the testing of the systems has to be strenuous and meticulous. They can't let the game collapse on itself. I think they should've been more open about that, but we're almost there, so I wont gripe about it.
  15. But if they didn't start somewhere, how could they learn to program? They weren't born with keyboards attached to their fingers. <:)
  16. bad idea to release this month

On top of the other points, holding the release off would do more harm than good for two reasons: 1. This module is for the pledgers. Once it's out, those who already invested will get it. No one outside of them will be able to waltz in and pick up the module. They'll have to wait. It wont matter if other games release, because we've already paid our piece for TS. 2. The community is getting worn out by the waiting. For good reason, too. I understand why we're waiting, but it's not easy to wait this long for some people. To have another delay, just for a better showing, would fall flat on its face. There would be backlash from the fans. They've waited long enough, they don't care about the possible publicity. The developers should give their community the game once it's done.
  17. 1 TASK MORE BOYS!

I'M READY FOR THEM CLOTHES, MAN! WOO!
  18. I'M NEW TO IDENTITY

First of all, welcome! Happy to have new people around! I'm not the most knowledgeable on this subject, but I will try my best to answer. Take my words with a grain of salt, please. 1.Identity is MMO, with a large town/city and rural areas to explore. There is no major building, but we will get to place furniture inside our homes and plant crops in certain areas. There is no free building like in Minecraft. 2. Many jobs will be supported, such as businessmen/women, cops, criminals, politicians, firefighters, hunters, farmers, and so on. However, more mundane jobs, such as a janitor, dancer, or cashier, will not be supported. The careers we will get to select will have to be something prominent, as the devs want to make sure all jobs are fun. Jobs will not be in the Town Square module set to release soon. We are not able to test out jobs yet. 3. Certain items, like food, may decay. I don't believe a shirt will decay, nor would a piece of furniture. They may add that later, but as of right now, it's never been stated items would decay. 4. To give my best summary of Identity, it is a MMO with over 300 players and a large landscape where every player contributes to the economy and world. Players will get to pick any job they like (with the politicians being exempt, as we must be elected) and earn money to buy items such as clothing and furniture. It is very much a roleplaying game, along with cops and robbers elements, and any townie-type game. Everyone is able to kill one another, but not without severe consequences. This game tries to stick close to real life, so for casuals who want to enjoy some deep roleplay, it's a dream come true.
  19. What Will You Guys be Doing in Town Square

If book writing is in-game, I would be writing all the fanfiction I possibly could. I'll probably hang around the karaoke area longingly, explore, and most importantly.... BUY.ALL.THE.CLOTHES.
  20. Who is actually still hyped for this game?

I'm not as excited as I was when I thought it was going to launch in two days, but I'm still hyped! The feeling will come back once Steam gets its hands on it. I've been waiting, and now the dream is in sight!
  21. Which cars do you want to be in the game?

Give me some cute lil' beetles and I'm good.
  22. What's Updated On the Tracker?

    It does! Thank you!
  23. Before I begin, to be clear, I am fully aware that this module will be done when it's done. I trust Asylum. My question is what is changing on the task tracker. It says it's being updated, but I see nothing new. Is it actually changing? Is there something I can't see overtly? If it's telling us progress, I would like to know. I keep feeling like it's glitching for me.
  24. Task list photos | UPDATED DAILY!

That's perfectly fine! Thank you for keeping us updated as you had.
  25. body customization

Ah, I see. That is what I meant, but I didn't realize it was only to be added after the full release.
