I'm personally satisfied with the dev blog post as well. It gives a very fair time frame for the video release and first module, and answers a few lingering questions I had. Thank you devs!

To be honest, it all comes down to whether you enjoy the game's concept or not. I know I do, though! These developers do seem very honest and trustworthy, and I feel the money spent towards this game is worth its weight. That being said, there IS a lack of updates. Hopefully, that just means they're hard at work. So my final answer: Yup! But it depends on your interests.

A forum is a place to express yourself freely. Doing that isn't considered crying, just so you know. I gave my opinion, and you gave yours. I never said you were crying, or insulted you in any way, so why attack my opinion and label it as crying? Is that what you consider to be mature? Just because we don't agree, doesn't mean we can't be civil, respectful, and friendly to one another. We are a community, all of us. So let's get along. you don't have to like me, but I kindly ask that you respect myself and others who post their opinions. You don't have to agree, nor do you do you have to be defensive.
-
When did I say that? I dont want them to develop it faster. I just want updates haha. and alright haha, you're clearly the mature one here. That's fine. You're entitled to say what you want. Just don't be so upset when I say what I want.
-
Well I had initially posted my opinion, which you quoted and responded to... That's okay though. Thank you for being polite. I can tell you seem a little upset that others have opinions that differ from yours, but adults have different opinions, and for your own peace of mind, I hope you come to learn that. Anyways, looking forward to actually getting to know you in the town square haha, perhaps we could debate Identity politics in the race for governor some day.

With all due respect. I didn't ask you.

What you're saying suggests that, since their last update, they've done nothing notable at all. and that's not what I asked for at all. I'm asking (rightfully so) for updates every once in awhile. Weekly? Bi-weekly? Just a check in to let us know what they're working on or what they plan to accomplish. i want this game as bad as you, and I have faith that it will come. I just want to be able to see the progress. Unless, of course, there has been none, which would be pretty disappointing. If you choose to support something blindly; props to you for your faith, but you guys should stop trying to silence people who are concerned about their investment. We have the right to be concerned. Also, please try to read my entire comment before putting words in my mouth. I know they're long, but I don't really post that often and I like to have a well formed opinion before I do.

I fail to understand why other backers (I'm a backer myself) just can't tolerate any open criticism of their development process. I understand it's difficult to make a game. It's not difficult to make a blog post though, which, quite frankly, is very overdue. Yes, I understand that they're running an Arma 3 server, but people have paid money for them to start getting to work on this project (And if they are, we deserve updates, at least marginally). And no, Herzog, I didn't give them my money for them to 'bring their dreams to life' I paid money so that I could get to see some real progress, on a wonderful game concept and idea. It is in no way 'crying' when you ask for something that's quite simple, a mere blog post update, that shouldn't take longer than me writing this post. At this point, I want to see anything other than the models and shader tests, that quite frankly don't really require that much to produce. It doesn't have to be a video, or a module. Just an update. If you don't want to be annoyed by the people criticising the team, you need tougher skin.

I'm pretty certain no one is trying to put them down. This also has very little to do with respect. Most people don't dish their money out to those they don't respect or deem respectable. People are just concerned. As I've mentioned elsewhere, they have a right to be! You've seen things we haven't seen, and that's great, and I for one, am sure that there's good stuff hidden from us. I do want to see some of it though, even if it's unfinished, or unpolished. I'm not asking for a module, a video, or a beta yet, but we want updates. I think it's important to keep contributers in the 'know' of what's being worked on and how far the project has progressed... Even if it were just a weekly, or even bi-weekly update. Also; I don't think it's constructive to ask people who are interested enough to post on here, and make requests that aren't really that demanding to 'go make the game themselves' Most everyone on here, myself included have the utmost respect for the developers and have a deep and sincere appreciation for the development process, and the hard work they've put in. We've also heard how committed they are to the game, that even if the kickstarter doesn't succeed they would fund it themselves and develop it, just purely out of their commitment. That alone, commends respect for these people as developers alone. We just don't want to be kept in the dark for months at a time, even unsubstantial updates are welcome.
-
It's only natural for people to be concerned about their money. Backing a kickstarter campaign isn't for the impatient, you're right. But people have the right to be discontent with the amount of updates they're receiving, there's nothing wrong with that... I know that the development team are probably making great strides when it comes to putting out a finished product (And believe me, I want it to be nice and polished when it does come out, as opposed to the perma-alpha form of DayZ). That being said, I, and many others, would like to feel involved and up to date with the development process. A hair shader test just isn't enough to assure me that my money's being put to good use.
-
This exactly. I just want to see a little progress, it doesn't have to be a module yet, I do want to see a little more than a hair shader test. It's fair to be concerned at this point, in my opinion. That being said, I'm pretty certain no one here has anything against the developers. They've got an innovative idea that has kept me interested despite the lack of content. People asking for more content aren't trying to strong-arm the developers, we're merely asking to see how our money is being put to good use. love you devs, feed us

I just downloaded and installed Arma III for the first time. It's been really difficult getting a hang of all the controls. Anyone else struggle when they first started?

Appreciate it!

Welcome!

I think it's a cool idea! I just don't think it fits in with this game. I believe the developers already said something about a 'less arcadey, more simulation' vibe to the game. I do see this happening on private servers though!

I'm from the middle east (Kuwait), but I typically play EU servers.
