Absolutely...... they have totally blown it I am afraid. Now they are trying to plaster over the cracks with a piece of tissue paper with the small updates that are coming, its now been updated again, and broken the "game" Not a promising start I have to say
-
I disagree.... its no-one's fault but the developers of this "game" As I have eluded to before, any professional development team will be totally focused on a release that works. I have a feeling that these guys are just amateurs who have no business sense or urgency as to how to develop a game, market it and then finally release it. You don't rush out a game that doesnt work (think back to the first 24hours, it was shambolic) You don't rush out a game before its fans are whining about how long its taking, you ENSURE you ONLY release it when its ready and you have something to show. Unfortunately, these amateurs have probably released due to a little pressure from its fans, and thats a HUGE mistake. I have a sneaky suspicion that the release was possibly an early version and they have uploaded the wrong and most current (working....hopefully) version. You can't blame anyone but the developers.

Havent tried the elevator, but wasnt the elevator a bug the last time I heard, and was the one thing that was holding back a release date????

Fuck knows. Hence why one of my posts mentioned First impressions count. They had their chance and totally fucked it. When you're given rope to climb down a cliff and its too short, you wont have the strength to climb back up and its a long way down......... just saying!! :

Yep, no servers online for me, the UI is fucked up, various buttons dont work. It hasnt been updated at all. When are you guys going to release its going to be a long time before you even see anything that remotely looks like a playable game?!!

THEY fucked up BIG TIME. Stop coating it anyway you wish..... I disagree with a lot of your comments, its not a fault on both sides at all. Anyone with business sense will stay focussed and NOT release a pile of shit to the WORLD on day one...... A professional outfit would have stay focussed, would have indicated to their followers the holdups along the way, along with a reason of some sort, but to stay silent, and then panic when voices were raised and then release something that does NOT WORK.... thats unprofessional, thats a liability, thats your money down the drain. I don't give a fuck about the money that I have spent, really not interested..... what people NEED to start realising is that NO PROFESSIONAL would put their name to the trash thats been released. NEVER. (put yourself in their place, a game that you have spent years developing and the first time you want to release to the WORLD, you show them this???..... you would hang your head in absolute shame) These boys are amateurs....... stop hanging onto the idea that its a blip, its not.... its a complete FUCKUP. BIG TIME. Release a new "game" to the WORLD, and you release something that has clearly not been tested..... clearly looks like a 12year old has coded it..... clearly without information from the "team"..... its going no further. FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT...... look at the reviews, first impressions from people are AWFUL. They have put their own nails into their own coffins. Its laughable!- 12 replies

The State of Identity (From a concerned citizen)

Nope. It is a good idea, but its being dealt with by amateurs. A little communication or business sense would have seen them being prepared for a release with a "this is what we can do" Its been a COMPLETE failure for release of a module. We know it was going to be small and a fraction of the game, but when you release something to the WORLD, you HAVE to be prepared. FIRST IMPRESSIONS upon the world is the first opportunity for people that haven't seen Identity before. This community has been given videos, screenshots and some information of whats to come, but for those that are purely on Steam, and see this game called Identity and the tantalising videos posted on the Steam page, with a price....... you expect to at least download it, and try it out knowing full well its just an Alpha release. NO-ONE would expect a shockingly poor character creation tool on Day 1. NO-ONE would expect menus to not work correctly, if at all, and NO-ONE would expect the server to be done over 24 hours, waiting for an update that has been indicated on Twitter. How about communicating through this website, how about communicating through Steam? Its a FAILURE of mammoth proportions by amateurs who have no idea on how to release a game to the WORLD. A lot of people are shocked and rightly so. These guys have no business sense at all. A lot of people are wondering whats going on, and unintentionally perhaps, people are seeing this as a money grab and run. Amateurs....... seriously.... Amateurs who know nothing of running a business. ITS GOING TO FAIL BEFORE IT CAN EVEN START.- 12 replies

Thanks for the heads up, however..... Going back to my comment, how can you release something to the WORLD and not have the basics work? Its total incompetence. Basic testing is where you start, you don't release something to the WORLD and not have it work. Its fucking shocking to be honest. Must be run by kids with no clue. Am not bitter, but extremely disappointed in a business that is NEVER going to work with that work ethic.

How do you release an Alpha version and not have anything to show? I don't believe you're going to see any servers up anytime soon. I think they are still coding the basic stuff !! Its all been a bluff. Character creation is seriously poor, I mean..... really really poor. Are the devs still in primary school?? Deletion is the way forward, and I am close to just removing it from my library.

Yep, and then we can have bounty hunters trying to capture criminals that have evaded the Police. Awesome stuff, but this is all going to take time I guess. I suspect once all the employment things amongst other things that need to be done, will be a few years in the making. Then identity may well be out of date and many people would have moved onto other things. Shame really, this game has great potential NOW..... not in a year or 2 years time..... or however long it takes.

Am new here so please don't shoot me but...... for those that have been here a lot longer, how quick is the development coming along? I mean.... its been stuck on 89% for a number of weeks and thats fine, but how often is it updated? Does it go up by 1%, 5% or 10% and how often? Just gives me a tiny bit of hope it will be out before Christmas this year of course! (2017) Thanks in advance for any replies!
