  1. A Mafia Commission

I don't plan on starting with a huge criminal empire. I plan on starting, like everybody else, as a nobody, and (hopefully) eventually building one up. I don't know how you've got it into your head that I ever wanted anything otherwise. In fact, rising up and putting the hours in is going to be half the fun. I also fail to see how I was metagaming, especially considering the fact that the game isn't out yet. But, I'm not here to argue and though I stand by what I said to that guy, I perhaps put it a little bluntly. My bad.
  2. G'day

First time on the new website. It's looking great. Seriously one of the better forums I've seen. Anyway I can't wait for the game to come out and I'm hyped to do some roleplay.
  3. Juarez Cartel

Interesting to finally see a cartel in the mix, but I'm curious as to why you've gone with Cosa Nostra ranks rather than cartel.
  4. Serious Roleplay

I used to own one. Trying to get people to actually roleplay was so damn hard.
  5. Is anybody listening?

Building on what Paulie said here, I feel like we're all just talking away at each other, arguing uselessly, while the devs seem to take no notice. I could easily be wrong, but from what I've seen nobody is reading the suggestions or discussions we have regarding various game mechanics. Of course I'm not saying the devs have to build the game to our every word, but considering we are the ones paying for it, they are making it for our enjoyment, and they've set up forums for the purpose of getting our feedback, you'd think they would join in the conversations and at least look over our ideas. Btw, didn't mean any offence to the devs of the game or mods of the forums, just felt like getting this out there. I could be wrong about all this, so what do you guys think, and the devs / mods themselves?
  6. So whose putting there names down for elections

This is very well thought out, and with the proper planning, could actually pan out as you've written here. You're the only person here who has convinced me that my vote would be best with you than anyone else. You've got my vote.
  7. spray paint your wepons

I really hope you can't. This would just bring a whole lot of CS:GO kids into the game and break immersion, and realism.
  8. When a person calls 911 (or 000, depending on what they go with), the police should be able to detect where the call is coming from, as long as the person stays on the line for long enough. It could take, for example, 1 minute, or 2 for the police to properly trace a call, and if the person hangs up before then, it fails. Say somebody is in a hostage situation where talking on the phone would get them killed, they could call the cops and leave the line open so the cops can hear everything that is going on, and also trace the call so that they can find out where it is going down. Also, wiretaps really need to be in the game. For phones, so that the feds can listen in on organised crime related calls, but also bugs that can be hidden away in houses. I just can't see them not being in the game. And of course if there are going to be wiretaps, there really need to be payphones. Mobsters often use payphones because they cannot be bugged, whereas their own phones will often be bugged. Having bugs and wiretaps would add more to the FBI job, because not only would they have to install them, but they would also have to listen in on them for incriminating information. @Motown @Paratus
  9. IDENTITY'S Criminal EMPIRE ( I,C,E )

Just to play devil's advocate for a second, this is (to an extent) what you've done yourself. Not attempting to start trouble, just observing. Either way, it's a good point. You can't just stroll up and claim that you will run the underworld, you need a solid plan, organisational structure, and an intelligent leader. Either way I'm sure we can all agree that 'I.C.E' (which makes no sense, as Nicky said, why would the people of Identity run a criminal 'organisation' named after the game they don't know they're in) has very little chance of getting anywhere, and this guy pissing off every single mob boss on the server hasn't helped his case.
  10. Is anybody listening?

Not a bad idea, actually. I'll do that later.
  11. Is anybody listening?

That's fair enough, and we really don't have any other option, do we? And I'm sure I'm not the only one with a good deal of faith in them, otherwise we wouldn't still be here, but from the looks of it there are so many promising ideas and so much good feedback on the forums which seems to go unnoticed.
  12. Is anybody listening?

You're not wrong, and I have to agree with most of what you say, but my main point was what is the point of having the forums and claiming to read our ideas if they are not at least going to be considered? I wouldn't say it's entirely up to the community to flesh out these ideas, most of that would have to be done by the devs because they know what will be possible, what will be compatible, etc. Of course they are working tirelessly to make the game, but that doesn't mean they couldn't have some sort of correspondent relaying ideas and conversations from the forums to them.
  13. Injuries

Pretty sure they've got some system like this lined up but I sure hope they go as far with it as you've said here. If it's too hard maybe they could have a limp that you carry for a while after you receive treatment on whatever leg you were injured on.
  14. Hello people!

    Welcome to Identity.
  15. A Mafia Commission

I didn't lose my cool. I just said what is on everybody's mind, and had to be said.
  16. A problem with Identity

The devs have stated you will only be able to see somebody's name if you look at them and they don't have a mask on. They have also said that it will be an option for private server owners to make it so that you can only see somebody's name above their heads once they greet and introduce themselves to you. I think this should be the other way around. It should be the default for you to have to introduce yourself. To make it so that you can instantly know who you are talking to even if they don't first introduce themselves would ruin so much potential RP and make the game more appealing to GTA twelvies. What do you think? Also, I'm guessing it will show your RP name above your head and not your steam name. @Motown @Paratus
  17. Custom maps using Google Maps

Nice in theory, but it would be basically impossible to implement.
  18. Car Customisation Queries

and you couldn't really trust people not to be dumb with it, so it'd be better off not to allow it.
  19. A Mafia Commission

Do you actually have something wrong with you? I see you posting stupid shit all over the forums, annoying people, and just overall polluting everything with your cancerous shite. Please don't buy this game. It's nothing like GTA or Saints Row, it's about roleplay, which I can tell you won't be able to do.
  20. A problem with Identity

Possibly, but on the other hand some kids just never get it. I used to own a SeriousRP server on Gmod and maybe one out of 10 people would get that it wasn't GTA. Those other 9 still wouldn't get it even if you punished them. Since Identity is an RP based game, the ratios should be the other way around 9:1 not 1:9, but still I think putting in as many measures to promote RP (like the one I've mentioned) would be good.
  21. A Mafia Commission

Right well I'm glad, just hope he doesn't buy the game.
  22. A Mafia Commission

You do know this isn't GTA? 'Helios Fusion' isn't a valid RP Name.
  23. More Backstories

Johnny Mariano was born Giovanni Carlo Mariano in Sicily. His father was a bricklayer and his mother a schoolteacher, but both were killed in a car crash caused by a known heroin junkie when Johnny was 19. Together, Johnny and his younger brother Paolo 'Paulie' Mariano killed the man. Though they took precautions to make sure the murder was not traced back to them, it wasn't long before the police connected the dots and the brothers became the prime suspects of the disappearance. Having exhausted all other options, they fled to the US where they tried to go straight (in accordance with their mothers wishes), but found it difficult to even scrape by. They founded a small crime ring that specialized in smuggling, extortion, fraud, contract killings, illegal gambling, and arms dealing, and quickly rose to the top of the relatively quiet criminal underworld of Paramo. Shortly after the foundation of their organisation, Johnny and Paulie's (much younger) second cousin Nicodemo 'Nicky B' Brasco came over from Sicily and started helping out. He quickly proved himself to be a competent gangster, and because of their blood connection Johnny recognized him as his logical protege and accepted him into the family. Over the years the crime ring grew to become the Mariano Crime Family, a large and respected crime family that brought in millions of dollars every year. At the top of the family were the brothers 'Johnny' and 'Paulie' Mariano, who became legendary figures in the criminal underworld.
  24. Common Jobs

Good stuff. Can't see there being carpet layers or electricians, but there's definitely a place for insurance salesmen and accountants, maybe even stockbrokers if the devs can get it right. A few jobs I thought of: - Unionist - Psychiatrist (if people are willing to RP it a bit and not get ridiculous) - Journalist
  25. A problem with Identity

Of course, but a lot of players can't be trusted to do that in my experience. The only way having the system they plan on having would work is if absolutely no GTA kids get the game, which leaves about 20 forum members
