You've got a customer right here. I dress to impress as a business executive and I'll want several finely-tailored modern suits, and probably two or three tuxedos as well.

grand theft arma My first few hours in Altis Life Were Pretty Hilarious (And Amazing)
Mattrock607 posted a topic in Arcade
After reading up on Identity, I discovered the Altis RPG mod and how it's tied to the upcoming game. So naturally, I decided to buy Arma III (it's on Steam sale right now) and find a random Altis server. I've been playing shooter games since the original Doom game came out in 1993, so of course I'd pick this game pretty easily right? Right? Holy crap. That's what I have to say about vanilla Arma III's learning curve. Reading maps properly, the funky unnatural key layout... it's quite confusing. And I made the mistake of joining an Altis server FIRST, before actually playing any vanilla Arma, which led to some hilariousness on my first go. Moments after joining a server, I was propositioned by a female player who offered to pay me $10,000 to be a sex slave. Seriously. Not knowing the RP terrain, I decided to reject her offer, and because I couldn't figure out the audio controls, that meant I had to run away from her as fast as I possibly could. Running down the road a ways, I ended up at a bank, but I couldn't figure out how to withdraw funds. I asked a bank patron politely for help, and he gruffly insulted me... so, being ever the avid GTA Online aficionado, I decided to steal his pickup truck and drive away. When someone informed me this wasn't cool of me, I tried to return that truck, only to have the man shoot at me. Panicked, I ran him over with his own truck, picked up his pistol, and drove away from town frantically, fearing I'd be arrested for vehicular manslaughter. Five minutes later, a player I assumed was a police officer started following me. His mic was super-quiet so I couldn't hear his commands. But it was nighttime, and the driving was a bit wonky, so I ended up smashing into a telephone pole. From here, I nervously escaped the vehicle and ran into an industrial-looking place, the apparent officer hot on my heels. I hid in the darkness, watching as the man ran around hunting for me. When at last he turned the corner behind which I was hiding, I raised my stolen pistol and unleashed a storm of bullets in the general direction of his face. I was now Matt the Copkiller, or so I thought, and I darted off into the woods hoping I'd never be found. That's when the guy angrily told me he was trying to help me by giving me money, a firearm, and some advice. I had just murdered someone who was trying to give me help. I can't even remember the last time I felt bad for something I did in a multiplayer session, if ever! Feeling bad, I found a new server, and this one has been super helpful. With more than 100 players, the server's denizens helped me get a driver's license, a boating license, and start fishing. I'm set up in a nice quiet town with a low crime rate (I've only been shot at once in the three hours I've played on that server). I can peacefully live out a civilian life of farming, and everyone has been super cool. I'm definitely hooked! My only gripe, one we all know Identity will rectify, is that I can't own and operate a business, at least not on the server I'm playing on (Grand Theft Arma, or perhaps that's the mod they're using? I'm still a total noob here lol). If there are English-speaking servers out there with larger populations where I could start a business of my own (buying property, creating products, and selling them to other players)I'd be game to give it a go. Is this even possible? Do such servers actually exist?- 2 replies

To play RDR2 I would need to buy a console which I don't really want to do. They don't seem to have any plans on releasing it for PC like they did with GTA Online. Though GTA V on PC made them tons and tons of money, so who knows.

That is astounding! I tried to clean it up pixel-by-pixel but the end result was pretty terrible. I'm hoping we can use the purple/ white mountain image as an actual logo on bottles in-game, that would be amazing. Thank you for helping with this!

It has happened The scary part is I actually Googled match results from that year to see Arsenal wins. But I excluded the fact that in 1950, the next time Arsenal and Chelsea played, Chelsea won 3-2 if memory serves. How's that for a ridiculous commitment to realism? lol

I've seen that same comment, but we've seen this sort of stuff from Titov in the past. Would anyone really put it past Titov to lie about his involvement in this game? So many similarities -- using the same exact website and forum layout, the purchase tiers being exactly the same and having the same aesthetics on the site, the forum thread deletions... it doesn't bode well. I'm hoping the game will be good, and I'll buy it if the game launches and people say it's fun, but they won't get my pre-order money. I don't trust them and I have more reason to assume Titov is behind the game than not. Somewhere between "Infestation" and "Aftermath" I decided to no longer question Titov's involvement when the evidence is stacking up negatively. Titov will never get another cent of my money and I won't be involved in a game that even seems remotely like he might be involved.

[UK][S.R.D.] The Social Reformative Democrats
Mattrock607 replied to The_Orgazoid's topic in The Podium
Consider me in! I do have some items that I believe should definitely be added to the platform. And it sounds to me like you're a proper Berniecrat, so I'm sure you'll be into at least some of these suggestions EXTREME MAKEOVER: CAMPAIGN FINANCE EDITION Establishing serious campaign finance laws is critical in avoiding the development of a corrupt government. The party should push for a campaign reform law which would include the following caveats: Donors are limited to contributions not exceeding $5,000 per candidate. This includes companies AND private citizens. Political contributions are not considered charitable. ALL campaigns, regardless of the office they're seeking, are strictly limited to three (3) paid campaign advertisements of any type. Political action committees (PACs) are allowed one (1) advertisement per candidate. Elected officials AND candidates seeking office must openly display the names of their ten biggest donors on their advertisements and in any campaign literature they distribute publicly. ELECTION REFORMS Election day should be a Federal/ State holiday where only essential emergency personnel are required to work. All other businesses and government agencies are expected to be closed. No citizen legally allowed to vote shall be prohibited or restricted in any way, shape, or form from voting by their respective employer(s). Also, voter registration is compulsory at the age of 18 and does NOT include party affiliation (though a voter can update their voter registration with that information if they so choose). Political parties are strictly prohibited from excluding voters from their primaries, but voters may only vote for one (1) candidate in any primary. MARKET TRANSACTION TAX Universal healthcare and universal education are going to be expensive, and I'm not seeing enough revenue-generation here to really compensate for those policies. This market transaction tax will charge a 1% flat rate on ALL stock market transactions, paid by the purchaser of stocks/ shares in publically-traded companies. This fee would not apply to a company's IPO; it only gets charged for future transactions. If you spend $100 buying a share in a company, this tax will generate $1 in revenue for the government. It doesn't sound like a lot, but if Identity features a stock market, and if there's any amount of speculation in that market, this tax will generate tremendous amounts of revenue for the government without negatively affecting the stock market in any major way. PHARMACEUTICAL REFORM BILL America is facing a serious opioid epidemic, and big pharma is contributing to it with opioid-based medications that should never have been approved by the FDA to begin with. This bill would include: A full-on ban on pharmaceutical advertising across the board Opioids must be clearly marked on product labels Children under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from being prescribed opioid drugs Adults must be warned by doctors of the risks of addiction Individuals suffering with drug abuse problems may NOT be prescribed drugs containing opioids. Doctors are responsible for keeping these drugs out of the hands of those suffering with drug addiction DRUG DECRIMINALIZATION (Notes) I'm onboard with the idea of decriminalizing drug possession, use, and smaller sales, but not production or large-scale distribution. Again, the heroin epidemic in America is a very serious issue, and flatly decriminalizing all drugs won't help. We need to decriminalize possession and couple that with a legal reform stipulating that police must be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt a person's intent to sell; as it stands today, simply having those drugs makes you suspected of planning to sell/ distribute. Large-scale distributors -- the Walter White types -- should still go to jail for illegally manufacturing and/ or distributing controlled subtances. But I think we'd do well to establish what we mean here and specify how decriminalization might work. PRISON REFORM Prisons should be focused on rehabilitation, not punishment. In the United States we spend a large fortune on imprisoning those convicted of crimes, with a horrible recidivism rate. That's because our focus is on locking prisoners away. We should instead be working on reforming inmates and teaching them how to contribute legally to our society. Education programs, work programs with real wages, a "box exclusion" program where employers are not allowed to ask potential workers for criminal records, an enhanced parole and probation system focused on helping prisoners find legal work and further their education... this is how we'll reduce crime rates and avoid seeing the same people return to prison over and over again. CORPORATE TAXATION (Notes) I think a flat 28% tax rate on corporations will stagnate private sector growth in all the wrong ways. Instead, I would propose a 15% corporate tax rate for corporations with net earnings equal to or less than $1 million, 23% for those with net profits between $1 million and $10 million, and 28% for corporations earning more than $10 million in net profits. I also think we should couple this with a 20% capital gains tax. I could go on here for hours on the environment, workplace safety laws, discrimination laws, etc. but hey, one day at a time lol. -
Wild West Online looks fantastic, but everyone should be warned that some VERY questionable things are happening surrounding that game. It seemingly involves Sergey Titov, and if you already know that name, chances are your opinion of WWO just took a serious nose dive. If you aren't familiar, just google Sergey Titov, Free Reign Entertainment, and/ or a game from 2012 called "The War Z." It was quite honestly the ugliest mess I've seen in gaming. This guy is a slug and any game he's involved with WILL be terrible, 100% guaranteed. The developers are using Sergey Titov's terrible "Nightshade" engine to make the game, which they admitted only after feeling a ton of pressure from the newborn WWO community. But there are so many other parallels that need to be looked at. Early on, forum posts and threads were getting locked and deleted if they made mention of Sergey Titov, Free Reign, or the Nightshade engine. They claimed to stop this practice, but I know of at least three other threads that mysteriously went missing after their community managers promised to stop doing that. Forcibly silencing critics and wiping out any evidence of the community raising questions? That's a Sergey Titov trademark. And then there's the game itself. Sure, they might be using Free Reign's engine, but did they also hire the exact same web designer? Why are their website and their forums EXACTLY identical to the old War Z site? Even their purchase page, with its three tiers of purchase for the game, looks literally identical to the old War Z purchase page, only cowboy themed rather than being zombie themed. I would love a western-themed MMO on PC, but seriously gang, approach Wild West Online with caution. The devs claim Sergey Titov isn't involved, but this guy is a slimy, lying cheat, and these coincidences are piling up frankly too fast to dismiss. I'm not saying you shouldn't be excited about that game. I'm just saying we should all approach it VERY carefully and go into it fully aware that this could very well be another Titov scam. Buyer's beware... you've been warned.

Yeah, some of my fondest memories in Minecraft stemmed from a bunch of us getting together on our modded server and getting utterly s--t faced on Rockwater Ale, throwing up on each other and dancing around like maniacs. Good times. Hopefully Identity will have those mechanics for us

Rockwater Dark - In the year 1950, Rockwater Brewing Company's CEO traveled abroad to England where, after watching a football (soccer) game where Arsenal defeated Chelsea in an exciting 2-1 match, he tasted a proper English dark ale for the first time. Blown away by it's rich, flavorful taste and aroma, the CEO returned Stateside with a single goal in mind: develop a dark American ale that competes with what our friends across the pond are famous for. The end result has been a staple on both sides of the Atlantic since it was first introduced in 1954. Rockwater Dark is a delicious, sweet, heady brew that will leave you shouting "Bollocks Gov-nuh, that's ruddy good, that is! Now jog on, I'm drinkin' a Rockwater Dark!" Rockwater Whiskey - The old Rockwater Distilleries of yesteryear are still crafting Whiskey the same way as they always have: a pure blend of corn and rye mashes with a dash of wheat, distilled with our purified mountain spring water and aged in smoked oak barrels. Beloved by rock stars, oil tycoons, and presidents, Rockwater Whiskey has been a household name for more than 125 years. * - Flavor was temporarily changed for three weeks in the 1980's, before disgruntled fans burned down a Rockwater Beer bottling plant and shot the company's CEO in the face with a pellet gun. The flavor was quickly rolled back to its original, unaltered taste. We're still super sorry. It won't happen again, we promise! Rockwater Brewing Company is a subsidiary of Rockwater International. Way back in 1998, my friends and I sat around envisioning a future online game where players would live vicarious lives through their PCs -- shopping in grocery stores, working in the office, driving home, watching some TV and eating snacks, and calling each other on in-game telephones. So when I heard that someone had broken ground on what was essentially that same vision, I naturally had to come see it for myself. And as of right now, I have to say I'm rather impressed! My name, as you probably guessed from my profile name, is Matt. I'm a 37-year old political writer in Binghamton, New York (I write for a popular website, which I won't name for fear of starting a ridiculous argument -- my work life is my work life and my play time is my play time!). I'm a gamer, a musician, a walking Game Of Thrones/ ASOIAF encyclopedia, and a very serious pizza aficionado. I only just discovered this game recently, but I'm already struggling to imagine what sort of virtual life I might lead. Surely I could get into politics and excel pretty rapidly, but that might be a little too close to home for me. Instead, I'll most likely create a company of some sort, though I'm not sure what that might be. In Minecraft I've owned and operated a large multinational conglomerate corporation called "Rockwater International," which I've also used in GTA Online and other games. In MC, Rockwater Int'l is a monster of a company. At the height of its reign I owned "MattDonald's" fast food restaurants in eight different countries, as well as the Rockwater Brewing Company (crafting beer and other alcoholic beverages), Brightstone Mining Company (with stores selling raw materials), huge factory farms with hundreds of animals, and various other creations and acquisitions. So when it comes to running virtual businesses inside a game, I think I can safely say I have a tremendous amount of experience. If I bring Rockwater Int'l into Identity, I'm not sure what form it might take. Perhaps MattDonald's restaurants, with franchising. Maybe I'll get into pharmaceuticals, if that's an option. Or perhaps we'll be a powerful law firm, or an insurance company, or something a little more... ahem... law-adjacent? I'll have a better idea after I learn more about this awesome-looking game. Anyway, that's my big introduction. I'm looking forward to learning more about this game and meeting others in the community!
