    Hello my fellow citizens and possibly developers. I am someone who is currently concerned with the state of the community and also the state of the game itself. I am going to be honest, I think what the main problem is: This idea for a MMORP game is not really a first game idea, it's a Triple-A Game idea, usually a large production team and a helluva lot of funding, a major company usually is behind it. The Developers, well, we have to understand that they came from modding and scripting a pre-existing game. The first product isn't gonna be perfect, they are mostly used to releasing mods, so of course it's hard to understand the seriousness of a first impression game release "failure" - delay in a mod releasing isn't a big deal, nobody *really* cares.. it's mostly "Oh, well, these mods are delayed? it happens, it's a mod" not "We waited years for a game, they botched it, let's pull funding and give bad reviews". To expect what started as a group of friends that had an idea that began by making mods on ARMA - to then have a great business practice straight away with most likely little corporate business experience, possibly with little to no retail experience.. to expect them to perform what you'd see at a company like Rockstar or E.A. or.. Ubisoft.. obviously there was gonna be a huge problem with that.. to go from being a mod developer group to creating a whole company dedicated to creating a Triple-A style game is a pretty high goal to reach.. it took Rockstar Games 10 years to make GTA 5.. and that was WITH the use of assets from GTA 4... which was a difficult thing to do in it's own right. I do believe they set the bar a bit high for themselves and didn't anticipate the backlash from the community, struggling dealing with said backlash and missed deadlines/release dates. Honestly - in time they might have some great potential.. but they really gotta open the lines of communication, be honest with the community and don't be so vague.. if someone from developing messed up.. then admit there was a mess up and move on, the community would respect them MORE for being open and honest instead of being kept in the dark and being vague and misleading... even if they messed up - we'd rather the truth and being kept up to date, instead of losing faith just because they are worried that admitting they messed up would ruin their reputation.. that sorta thing is corporate suicide.. you gotta come up with a solution and a plan and inform the investing parties as to what you'll do to fix the issues. We as a community should still support them in their idea.. but they HAVE to be open and start TALKING to people, not banning them for even asking what the hell is going on or being negative or potentially worse.. people have A RIGHT TO be mad, a RIGHT to KNOW what exactly is happening.. we're investors in our own rights, we're paying them money for a product.. so yes, we, as a people, will get angry for something that we paid for not being what we expected... I'm sure the investing parties would appreciate not being banned for asking questions or being frustrated or mad about this, this isn't a MOD where you can just ban people you don't like, this is a GAME, this is a BUSINESS now.. you can't just kick out and ban every nay sayer.. it's up to the business to prove the nay sayer wrong. I love this idea, I love the team's idea of creating a completely revolutionized MMORPG, every MMORPG is either medieval fantasy or futuristic.. but it's bad business conduct to ban people for asking questions or being mad at you for failing to deliver what was expected, you gotta be better, apologise for the mistakes and then announce what you will do to fix it... it's good business to keep the buyers in the loop of what's happening, even if it's not sunshine and rainbows.. we prefer honesty, we would trust them more and trust they know what they're doing if they're open and honest instead of misguiding and vagueness. So, with that being said, my associates and I will still wait for Identity's production to continue.. but both the community and the developers NEED to understand BOTH sides.. and to work together to make Identity happen. Come on people.. stand fast, stand strong, stand together.. it's what Commander Shepard would've wanted.     who still has hope for this game if you do leave a like on this post and write why you still are but if you don't like the game and think it shouldn't be sold then leave a comment and tell me why. tbh im still going to keep faith even though so many problems have occurred

    I just wanted to say this because of the rampant negativity: I still have faith in the Identity devs. I fully support their mission and the game they hope to create, whether it be by them or anyone else. A month ago, i was wondering if maybe it was all a scam...Ive been waiting for years since I saw the annoucement on Arma 3. I love Asylum mod on Arma 3 and i want to see what they can do with a game of their own. Its easy to be mad. How many dev updates we saw of customized phone cases and bicycles....such big ambitions to be left wanting so much more when the alpha was released late (instead of early) yesterday. I think its maybe due to the negativity of people yelling "its a scam", "its buggy", "i want a refund", and "it should be dropped from steam" for me to realize that I dont care that its not ready. I only care that its being worked on. I dont even care if it didnt officially started being worked on until 6 months ago, like i saw in another post. I only care about progress. This game could get an official release 20 years from now with all of the things they hope to accomplish and likely STILL be decades beyond anything Bethesda, EA, Ubsisoft, Blizzard, possibly even Rockstar would come out with. Dont treat this company like you would them, with the full team, budget, and dream as they have. Its not fair. If it wasnt for all the negativity, i would probably be more upset, but yall wishing for refunds and swearing youll never play the game are most likely still trying to log on right NOW. Shut up and be patient. I think Asylum has a dream and if i could do more besides financial support, I would. Their vision is a billion dollar idea. And I give the minimum of $30 to any game company that has the same dream and the passion to create it. Tldr; they are making the best game ever, its just not done yet. Hard to be mad about that. You go, Asylum. Just keep us updated. Silence is the worst.

    Lol I just played for an hour with no interaction options... and it was a good wake up call to show how boring the game will be when the fun of all the features wears off... there is nothing to this module once you try everything... I fear this game will tank hard in population once people realize that.

    This is my opinion/held by me alone and many may disagree which is fine, but let's be human here. I'm not being funny, but I personally feel it is a disgrace that Asylum are trying to flog this game on Steam - its one thing to screw up the kickstarter people, they knew what they were in for, but to try and sell this as a game on steam is just dishonest. The community has done its best to try and protect those spending their actual money by leaving the deserved feedback/reviews, but there will be many people out there who want to try it anyway and will end up being scammed with promises that Asylum have not proved that they are able to deliver. They don't know the history behind all the delays, promises etc. Judging from what has been delivered, (ignoring the bugs) can you honestly believe that Asylum have the capability to deliver the following functionality to a level that is playable and fun? - Guns - Cars - Jobs I understand that upon release many games have bugs, I get that... But, Asylum have literally shown hardly any understanding of game development. Ignore the the main bugs and look at the game... Look at it for what it is... This is a sub-par university final year project/dissertation, not a game people should invest money in, let alone the additional apartments, dogs, cars and clothing! Absolute disgrace in my opinion that this has been put up for sale on steam.

    The kick-starter promised backers a "closed beta access". You guys aren't supposed to be selling the game on Steam, that's not a close beta access. The only reason I kick started the game was because I thought I wouldn't be able to get into the beta. What you guys are doing right now is false advertising. You fucked all the people who kick started the game for some extra cash on steam. That isn't right.

    Sorry, but this not a game, its a big prank...Setting options are not available. Main menu have a big bug. cant see any "options" like hidden hud...see only the room and the shadow of the player. if i click on play, but nothing happens....cant believe that dev release a so big error...

    I believe in this game. Both parties have good reasons to want this game to be successful, and we're slowly removing the things hindering that progress. There's been improvement over the years. Maybe not enough for some, but I believe in Asylum.

    I share the same opinion, this game shouldn't be on steam. They should have beta testers instead that could fill the server and see how it behaves, what happens, what changes, etc. The core part of the game is pretty much done, it needs (a lot of) work but I don't doubt they can get to the vehicles, guns, and jobs. It's gonna be a hell of a task for them, though.

    So I played for an hour.. and man I don't think I can play for another hour even with the functionality TO EVEN DO ANYTHING I Have been hard on this game for the last 2 days after their horrible launch and pr skills, and I think I have had the right to be after waiting for 2 years (Much shorter than most people) Fair warning Yes I know the servers were and are still glitched but this may give you some insight to how barren this game is without the very few features. First off the bugs are insane for having worked on such a small area for so long. Secondly There is nothing to do with features like: Apartments Movie theater Art and... making a book and chess Some of you will be like WELL THAT IS THE GAME IT IS A SOCIAL HANGOUT DURRR HUR DURRR Yes I get it, but think about it for a second. How long are you going to spend... playing chess or customizing your apartment to do nothing but stand in it and maybe talk to some one? Maybe you will go to the movies (if it even works) that may kill some time. Maybe draw a dick or 2 on a canvas? Lets add all this time together after you are done experimenting and maybe singing a few songs. You can probably do all of this in 4 hours or less.. and that is being generous assuming you are really looking at all the features. Then what do you do? From my experience of over an hour of just being a wandering shadow... because apparently they can't get this bug right either.. https://imgur.com/UUcjEEZ It is a very vacant game if you can call it that. Yes it is fun to talk with others and goof around a bit... but even after running around the circle... 30 times it got old fast. Now maybe with apartments it will be more goofy to visit them. After all is said and done... 1 hour without all the features incorporated was all most the people could take that I talked to. Now you may be wondering why am I talking about this? My fear is that this game is going to die very fast. People will play and use all the features.. then what, wait a year or more for the next module? I know the hard core fans will stick around, and I might try and hop in again (if I even can) but there is just nothing to keep people coming back. Once you spend your time making you apartment or watching a movie.. maybe the firing range will open up in 3 months. I hope that identity has some tricks up their sleeves with implementing more interaction than just a tattoo parlor... because from how ive seen people talking in game.     now comes an update and now the game can not even start, I respect you really you have made a great game but you can guess that you can at least start the game you had until the release even more time should take until there was problems to publish the game at all and now it is out and many people have bought the game and expect a game that can be played you are mostly negatively on steam.

    Servers are down right now, so that's why you can't play. This can't be a prank for three big reasons: 1. Steam, a highly reputable and respected company, has agreed to license and publish this game. If Steam thought this game was going to mess with us all, they wouldn't release it. They wouldn't gain enough money to repair the damage it would do to their reputation. Steam has bad games, but a bad game is different from a prank or scam. 2. The Devs entire livelihoods depend on this going well. Sure, they made a ton of cash, but they've been using it for this game. We're seeing content, and that has to come from somewhere. We know they're paying people and have a team. They didn't take the money and go golfing. If this was a scam, then the funds would stop coming once everyone caught on. You can't fool people forever. Putting it on Steam was the exact moment this couldn' be a sham anymore. We'd realize it was fake the moment we got to play, then money would stop coming. it this wasn't real then steam would never be involved. If they dangled it above us, then I'd be more inclined to believe it wasn't really what they said it was. Their careers would be over if they messed with all of us. 3.There are a lot of people supporting this. A lot of unnamed, unknown people, who could be able to do anything. What if a very powerful, affluent person was scammed? What would they do to Asylum? Even throngs of irate, offended people are threatening on the internet. We're too much of an unknown variable to toy with. Of course, if you don't agree with me, I understand. This is what I firmly believe, though.

    Dude as much as those that moaned daily about a release annoyed the shit out of me too, you can't blame them for this. Asylum didn't release this under pressure. They took there time and still got it wrong.

    In your identity website account look for the steam key. Go to steam - Games - Activate a Product on Steam - Enter in that key and it should show up.

    Honestly, it's SOOOOO ANNNOYYINGGGG. I knew about this game ever since it was first announced and I'm not mad AT ALL about there being issues, it's expected. This is why people don't like doing stuff for others because of this very reason. Keep on they're going to abandon the game and y'all will really be mad. GTA online had the same problem starting off and its ran by a huge company. It was playable at first, but now they're trying to fix it. THIS IS A SMALL TEAM, so STOP.

    All I'm saying is this. Y'all wanna go and get refunds then go and close the door on your way out. The devs honoured their promise and eventually released the game but you can't expect people to see unexpected problems in advanced. Yes I'd have loved to play day one but you know what? I've been waiting 2 years at least so more time waiting ain't a problem to me. There's too many people that want instant gratification and have everything here and now. You all knew full well this wasn't anywhere near the final product and that it was an alpha module designed to show pieces of identity and what we can expect in the future so don't sit here god damn complaining about issues in an alpha module for a game that's not even near beta.

    Im just severely displeased with it because they bragged a ton and showed of their vast customization a lot... saying how great it was... when it is plain awful. That is why it is just pathetic in my eyes.

    I would agree with you, but people paid for a product, The devs do not do this out of the kindness of their hearts or for charity, this is all for monetary gain. People invested in the product and had expectations, and they were not met... They have the right to be mad.

    Hi folks. For both new and old users alike, the Identity Shop may be a confusing thing. Thus, I have devised this elegant FAQ article, with the aim that I should be able to solve any problem you may have, without you needing to post a help request. Info for Kickstarter and Old Site backers. If you purchased your pass on either Kickstarter or the Old Site, then you will need to claim your purchase on this page. In order to do so, you will need to create an Identity Shop account, which logs your backer details, rewards, amount pledged etc. Q: I'm being asked to create an account when I try to claim my pledge, yet I've already created an account for the forum? What gives? A: Though it may sound counter-intuitive, your forum account and your Identity Shop account are two wholly different beasts. You will need to create separate accounts for both - however, you can still use the same username/email address. Q: I have created my Shop account and have inputted my email address into the "Claim" box but no claims have been found? Why? A: As the little error box already says, this might be because the system auto-claimed your pledge for you when you created your Shop account. This only occurs when your Shop account email address is the same as your Kickstarter/Old Site email address. If you are still receiving this message, yet no claims have been registered on your account, then you may be using the wrong email address. Ensure that your Kickstarter/Old Site email address is the same one you want to use. If problems still, persist, be sure to contact a Moderator who'll be able to help you track down your lost goodies. Q: What about my exclusive Kickstarter backer's hat? A: Fear not.     We're getting close! You can now connect your Steam account to your Identity game account and obtain your Identity game Steam key. This key will add Identity to your library so that when Identity is released, you can download it and start playing immediately without having to do anything else. To get your key, login on the main site (NOT THESE FORUMS) at www.IdentityRPG.com. You can then go to the Account tab of your profile where you'll see an option to link your Steam account. You must have BETA ACCESS on your account to claim a key! ATTENTION! You can only attach one steam account to one game account, and it's permanent. Be sure you're logged into your game account which has the items you've purchased before attaching a Steam account! While you won't get Identity in your game library just yet, you will very soon. Handing out the keys like this allows us to reduce load on our servers. We currently have 20,000 keys in the system and we'll be adding more.
