3 pointsNot someone with common sense I guess. I guess you're the kind of person that make Nigerian princes happy.
-
3 pointsThis is actually more common than you may think with crowdfunded "projects". The entire project being to string people along and keep the money flowing in before bailing, having taken as much as they can get. Not saying that's what this team is doing, but it is HIGHLY possible because things like this happen quite a lot.
-
3 pointsI too think it's more poor development choices (but with a healthy dose of some shady practices). After all, a game of this undertaking by highly inexperienced devs who are also few in number? Not IMPOSSIBLE to pull off, but near it. It's the trying to pass off actual images found online as their own concept art and other revelations that make it point more towards "shady". But blind followers claimed this was normal (it isn't by the way) and they'd "rather have them spend time on actual dev than conceptual art anyway" when BY THE WAY, conceptual art IS part of development and can very well be a crucial step in making smart choices when developing a game's areas. Now I agree you can cut and paste images from online to have "mood board", as long as you just use these things for referencing to make designs in-game..........but........ They tried to pass it off as their OWN conceptual art. NOT COOL. I really grow wary of teams that leak this sort of deception, especially so early on. I also find it highly incompetent that they'd splurge all the backers' moneys on a fancy office while obviously pouring very little into actual development. And the tracker thing? Very deceiving as well. It lead people to believe that the tracker's tasks were direct in proximity with release date and that has now turned out to NOT be the case. And promising better/more updates AFTER Town Square..........well, that's good and fine, but don't stay mum in the meanwhile while your backers set out to rot. This whole thing stinks of terrible and unprofessional practices, misappropriated funds, and a pinch of things that are quite shady from a development standpoint. No means did I say scam, but IT IS SHADY and UNDERSTANDABLE that people may think it is a scam because of this shadiness and there's no denying that it's a shady mess when the proof is there to stare you in the face. Unless of course you're a blind as a bat follower. And by blind I mean someone who likes to pick and choose what problems to ignore and pretend aren't there.

2 pointsI'm going to use this to ward off guys now. "Sorry I can't go out with you, I'm engaged to C# you see........."
-
2 pointsc# is extremely similar after moving from c#, when I found java, I fell in love with the syntax. This is probably why I don't currently have a girl friend..
-
2 pointsMe. I might not be a ranter, but I am a realist. To be honest, those who blindly praise this game seem to be the ones without a clue as to how development works to the point I physically cringe when I read the replies, but what do I know? I'm only a game developer myself after all. X'D

2 pointsSuch a nice community this game has. Oh yes. I am so excited to play with these kind folk like this~ *eye roll*
-
2 pointsShame on all you three. None of those make sense and it's pretty obvious trolling. Now let me just grab some popcorn while I add your names in my special list of people to accidentally reverse with my van and blame them for being in my blind spot.

1 pointHey, I'm new to this community so correct me if I'm wrong when I say that we don't have a state legislative branch (yet). I'm not sure if this is on purpose or not, but it would make sense to have one. This state legislature here would have the responsibilities of making/producing laws, budgeting the state's budget, and approve nominations from the Governor's office. Not only would this make the game a lot more realistic and help with managing the budget, but this would help with parties getting/retaining their majority and help people get their political career started. Plus, like I stated up above, this branch would help with government oversight and transparency. Now, of course making a 200+ legislative branch isn't gonna work, so I propose that we cut the proportions down to a much better fitting size; about 11 representatives and 9 senators. Ergo, we can have about 3 senators per city (equal representation) and about ~3-4 representatives per city (based off of state population). In total, this would allow for a 20-member Congress. Now, rather or not these numbers are too small or to big is the debate. Me, personally? I feel as if these numbers are just about right. We don't want too many seats as elections wouldn't be competitive and we don't want too little seats as it would be really easy for a party to take control of everything: remember, a democracy functions best if all parties are represented. Anyways, this is just my two little cents. I am available to explain more in-depth of how this would happen/work, but I think it would be a really good idea to implement into this community. Thanks, - Kori P.S. Sorry for grammar mistakes in advance if there are some present. I'm not the best with English right now considering that it's 2 AM in the morning.

1 pointthis game took 3 years to publish a module. Don't you dare say that the tracker is transparent. its NOT ! the Devs wanted to do the new website, Get the paying company to the website , finish a small task that took 1 month. And not publishing the Module?. we have got 2 Delays in the past. the artists are non-stop making 300+ clothes and not making the second module Lol show us the guns , the cars, the real stuff, not clothes. "if you Don't believe me check their twitter most of their tweets is about clothes and hats and furniture". even the CEO said the artists are actually working on the second module. Ok show us the work you did on the second module not clothes * SMH *. we begged the devs after we saw the horrible Police&Criminal video to change the animations, and then they showed us the Twitch stream WITH THE SAME WALKING ANIMATION ?!?!?! SMH what is this ? they never listen to us. most of this game is ART not coding and mechanics. and im sorry to say this but the devs really love to talk a lot , even Psysin which i dont like him , i kinda agreed with his complains. even the devs in the gaming stream were like WOW , thats cool, i like this and that.???? lol devs its like you dont see the work and probably acting and fake cheering for the ceo when he speaks on the stream. sorry to all but i kinda think that people shouldn't invest a single dollar to this project until FINAL release.

1 pointFor the last few months I have been in and out of these forums complaining that this game was a sham, scam, and then some. I was wrong.... whoah!! calm down dagtag and Preston_bodhi_343 !! This is not a dream! In fact I woke up...... Quick simple truth: There is simply no proof this is a scam even if there is no product. Who am I to say otherwise. Long and detailed truth: After sleeping in bed last night on my actions and words I have realized how wrong I was to simply assume this was a scam. As a developer I sit for days at times locked away in my cave hidden from the world just programing and listing to dub-step. It truly is a lot of work, it takes passion, skill, and a LOT of time and patience with plenty of obstacles. When I woke up I saw the light..... Who am I to take that away from the developers of this game? How wrong I was and who I am not. Ill tell you who I am not... I am not somebody that takes away hard work from somebody who spent countless hours learning, creating, and developing something like this. I am somebody who encourages other developers to create new things, and to expand on there knowledge, Ive done that my whole life, but yet here I am the last few months accusing these developers of being a scam just because I ran out of patience, whether it be days, weeks, months, or in this case years. I am not the judge nor jury, nor should I act like one. It is true, this project have received over a million bucks, taken many years to this point, this game may, or may not ever be published !!.. BUT honestly, it is actually part of game development, trust me, Ive developed plenty of nothings even after a year or so more in development I have scrapped games, and If anybody should know that the most it is me. Game development is hit and miss. Truly a Risky business. So I will apologize to these developers, I will not take away there hard work just because there is no product yet. Instead I want to thank them for the inspiration of this game, giving us hope that It could one day exist, even if it never does. If this game fails, perhaps I may take on this type of project my self, It actually Sounds like a lot of fun and I am more than capable of achieving a game like this. (If you have not noticed yet, I have never been good at modesty;)) Annnywayyyys....... Thank you for Identity, I found mine. -MadApples

1 pointWhy the heck would someone not developing the game be allowed to answer questions about the game's development? Soooo messy. Just saiyan.
-
1 pointIt was a member of Asylum speaking on behalf of Asylum. If he didn't know the answer he should have stated so. I'm not taking him out of context. He literally stated that he is not comfortable confirming the release to be before 2030. This means that the game could still be in development in 2030, which is all I said in my original reply, that it could be 2030. You then said you would run over me in a van. Your the one being irrational, not me.

1 pointWhatya mean? Not like i am gonna respond to any of you and say you aint developers 😂. I must admit that i was wrong about you not being one, but hey its the internet its easy to say whatever you want right? To add to this topic i myself am still a developer in the making, got a background in java atm and i am now in college studying c#. Not like i already have a job or anything.

1 point*Last devblog jul 10th, steam key doesn't count because it is not a dev blog.* They released a shitty tracker for their development which has one bug that hasn't been fixed for months now I've only tuned into a few streams and all were assets, not any gameplay. Scam or not scam, never buying anything from these guys even though I used to be a full supporter of asylum, but now I'm pretty peeved and got refunded asap. If the game turns out good then good job, i'll pay full price, but with all of the delays and only shitty gameplay being shown for 3 years of work (3 intractable objects with a ton of bugs FOR THE BASE MODULE and to think they're working on others I just can't imagine how shitty everything else is) I've given up on this game, no trust in it anymore.

1 pointI don't think it's a scam. I do think a lot of shady things are going on and some very suspicious actions have instilled doubt in my mind as to the legitimacy of this whole project, but I highly doubt they will just up and disappear with the money. At worst, they will release a highly disappointing game that barely works, but even that isn't likely to be honest. I don't think your argument that because they have put so much into this means it's definitely not a scam. Making some assets and some gameplay videos for a over a million dollars is a pretty good deal. Without the 'proof' of the game existing, they wouldn't have raised half the money. I'm not suggesting this is the case, but they could be releasing false proofs to keep sales coming in.

1 pointC# for me and I'm still learning and planning to make this my main language ultimately, but I know a lil Python and Ruby as well. Currently working on a small indie tactical RPG~ I'm mostly the CEO/admin who dabbles in all of the fields and not programming-specific (I do art/animation, writing, mechanics and level and event design as well). So more jack-of-all trades-y in the career instead of excelling at a thing. But I have studied game dev flow and know quite a bit about it since it has been my passion since the age of 2!
-
1 pointThe scariest thing is them saying the big part is done and it's just finishing touches, then me logging in to see those claiming to be "more in the know" saying they said there are still game breaking bugs being hammered out, which is in direct conflict to what was stated weeks earlier. So it's literally impossible to say just how close, or far, Town Square release is. So why is there a tracker again? ^^;;

1 pointI mean it's your prediction, but I certainly don't think it will take an extra 4 years to iron out a few bugs, which include a deep one causing a whole server crash. I personally think it'll release before the end of this year but that's my opinion. Alright another joker to add in my list.

1 pointHere's how I see it: There was no way in hell they were going to get it done by the first deadline. And if I recall, they even said in the kickstarter video "Two years should be plenty of time". They kept us in the dark for over a year before a bunch of people started calling the game a scam and they FINALLY started a dev blog. Now, I can see feeling like they don't need to update the players. "It's done when it's done" type of thing, which is what you see a lot of in private servers for various games. My issue with it however, is that we are not just players. A large majority of us either backed it on kickstarter or pledged into it, essentially making us investors. As investors, we deserve to know what is going on. Like it was stated above, there was a beta release date set in the spring, and a day or two before it was pushed, then it was pushed a second time to "Whenever its ready". This is coming back to the whole leaving the investors in the dark again. Why would they wait until the absolute LAST MINUTE (twice) to say it needs more work? Its been a few months since that has happened, so obviously they were nowhere near ready to release the game. It would be like you hiring someone to rennovate your house, you are told you can move in on the 15th of July, and on the 14th they say "We're waiting on paint. give us another week" and half a year goes by with no update. It's not really about just being patient when we paid money (and effectively funded this project), were promised a deadline then left in the dark. Try that at work and see what happens....

1 pointuhh actually they did, it was one of the dev blogs where they said updates to the tracker will be daily and no task should take more than a few days to complete. that's why everyone was speculating June - august release date

0 pointsHow is it not game breaking then? the remaining bugs are game breaking... you do realize that there is a difference between a coder and a 3d artist right?
