3 pointsThe user I was replying to in the screenshots thread was asking if there was any way to see pictures of the current apartments to get a better idea of what they look like. We don't have a full photo set of each interior just yet, but I linked what I had on hand and talked about the ability to preview apartments. You'll still be able to customize apartments Day 1 of Town Square, the preview feature is just an additional thing that will allow players to see how big they are first-hand (so they'll have a better idea of whether or not they'd want the one they're previewing). Sorry for the confusion.

2 pointsPlayers will keep cosmetic and convenience items upon death. By cosmetic, I am referring to items that are used simply to improve or customize the look of your character (so a lot of clothing and accessories). When referring to a convenience item, this would be something like your character's cell phone (as it helps users interact with the world and plays an important role in gameplay). Items such as cash, weapons, etc. will, however, be dropped upon death. Here's a segment from an old stream where the CEO discusses what players can lose once they die: Mechanics (Player Death And How It Matters) https://clips.twitch.tv/ToughDiligentCatOSsloth And lastly, here's are two excerpts from a stream discussing cell phones and why they can't be stolen: Mechanics (Can a phone be stolen, lose reception, or run out of battery?) https://clips.twitch.tv/PleasantEphemeralDotterelAMPEnergyCherry Mechanics (Can a phone be stolen, lose reception, or run out of battery? 2) https://clips.twitch.tv/CrispyAgreeableShrewSwiftRage

2 pointsThe developers that appear on the Asylum Development Streams are exclusively tailored to work on the visual aspects of Identity. It would be great to have them help out with the programming! But it's unfortunately not something they're specialized in. The programmers are working throughout for the duration of the streams, and they'll sometimes listen in or comment in the twitch chat while their work is compiling. Regarding showing things off in Town Square, we've had 2 streams in the past where we got to see John run around the Module's environment. The stream on May 29th showed off the character creator and general environment of Town Square, where the stream on June 28th demonstrated a few of the interactions players can partake in. The CEO mentioned at the end of a recent development stream that the next piece of gameplay media we want to present will be a feature video of sorts. As John put it, "we need to have a video that represents the Town Square" for when our Steam page goes public. Here's the excerpt if you'd like to hear it: Misc (Any word on the next gameplay video? Media for Steam page?) https://clips.twitch.tv/StormyAcceptableHerdDBstyle (I'm unsure if we'll see another gameplay stream before the launch of the Module, but I have been pitching the idea to the devs so they definitely know there's interest.) We're going to try to include everything you've seen in the streams into the Day 1 build of Town Square where possible. Should the final UI task on the tracker become completed while we're still importing furniture/clothing/hairstyles etc. then we'll include the rest later. The art assets integral to Town Square's launch have been completed and we won't hold up its launch to import a recently modeled/designed item or graphic. The task tracker has indeed looked the same for quite a while. While the final "In Testing" task denotes the integration between the UI and the Housing System, the team discovered some serious bugs at a deeper level of the game during its testing phase. This was mentioned briefly in Dev Blog 20, where the CEO states that the significant bugs the team encountered "were deep in the engine and were show-stoppers". They needed to be addressed immediately, which explains the slow progress time for the final testing task. The major issues the devs ran into have since been rectified, and we're now focused on eliminating the minor problems still present with the UI + Housing System integration. Regarding PR, we do have plans to reach out to the community more frequently in the future through the release of more Identity Insiders and a change to the Dev Blog format. In Dev Blog 19, John mentions users will be able to look forward to "more frequent developer video blogs", with the idea that the transition to a video format will be both more entertaining and engaging for the community. In Dev Blog 20, he also states that we'll be sending out more frequent Identity Insiders soon ("We're talking a few each month!"). For the present moment, however, we do realize news has been slow. The entire team has been heavily invested in finishing this final task (apart from the artists as mentioned above of course), making it difficult to get out consistent updates. It would be great to compile a list of weekly updates from each specific developer, or sit down with the guys in the office at the end of each week on stream to discuss current progress! But this would come at the cost of making Town Square release later, and getting the Module out right now is our #1 priority. This is why the recent Dev Blog released later than usual, as John needed to focus more on Town Square's programming (as well as help the web dev out with some website tweaks). Even I've been tasked with helping test Town Square, so I apologize for not being as active on the forums (I'm definitely making an effort to appear here when I can though). In the future we'll definitely discuss updates more frequently with the Insiders and video Dev Blogs, but right now we need to devote as much time as we can into getting the Module completed. I hope this post helps address some of your concerns FuzzyDoesMedia (and I apologize for the wall of text).

2 pointsThe development definitely needs some serious transparency. Not more talk about transparency, or dismissive (and ultimately meaningless) "things are moving along well now" posts, but a serious indication how things are going. And chances are it's not going well. As soon as they admitted to no longer adding tasks, the tracker has been rendered as meaningless as the 89% progress bar. No surprise to people with a thread of skepticism, but worrying all the same. It's more disturbing seeing people say "adding more tasks would annoy people, so it makes sense they wouldn't add them" -- what kind of childish thinking is that? We're almost six months past the two release dates, and it could well be another six months away. Efforts are put into more ways to make money, like selling concept pugs and divvying up the apartments to lock them behind paywalls, while the module stagnates for another half a year. Priorities are off. If they need more money, we should know about it; if they don't, they're being greedy. More transparency is needed. Somehow I doubt Identity Insider or whatever it's called is going to be the thing that offers it. But each time a week drifts by unceremoniously, I get more and more concerned about this project...

1 pointI think its approaching truth time Asylum, April 20th 2018 - No release but only a 'Quite Minor' and 'short lived' delay. - Fair enough, more bugs can be found when fixing/diagnosing initial bugs etc. But with the amount of fixes that was needed before TS module was released, there is no way this could have ever been viewed as a 'short lived' process... A flipping tracker was made to keep track of the list! Not to mention breaking this to the eagerly awaiting community just 4 days shy of the release. You must have know over a month before that this was not going to make that deadline. June 6th 2018 - No release, but we are 'approaching release of the town square' - Most people have realised the initial bugs diagnosed on April 20th were bigger than the devs initially thought, but hey! It's almost here! Thats great! July 10th 2018 - No release, but gameplay is 'nearing release'! - Really? Havn't we heard that one before? August 30th 2018 - No release, but 'We're moving forward quite quickly right now'. - Of course... The main point I am coming to here is that we have been bullshitted for long enough. It's time to shit or get off the pot. Asylum, please be realistic with your community, everyone is completely fed up of hearing 'its almost here!' to the point that these words are entirely meaningless! Every time that phrase or similar is dropped, it is becoming less and less believable. If its going to take another 3 months, just tell us! Be honest! It won't be as bad as you think! If you are confident it is nearing release... think of your date, add 2 weeks to it, 3 to be safer, then announce it! If it arrives early, great!

1 pointScrolling through the forums for more than five minutes guarantees you numerous posts about how, "Identity will never happen," or questions like "the Town Square module has taken too long, does that mean the other modules will too?" Now I will admit these questions and concerns sometimes come with viable grounds yet a majority of them are wrongfully stated being only based off of personal opinion or rumors. HOWEVER, many people tend to overthink the reasoning behind the potential delays and INSTANTLY jump to this being a hoax and a way to steal peoples money. Now, I believe these developers are rightfully delaying the game and although it does bring up questions, it has good reasoning behind the delay. Many of you are just consumers: buy a game, play it, rate it, get bored of it and buy another, but there are also games out there that you tend to revert back to when nothing on the market is interesting and those are the games that when you picked them up and played them the first time, your expectations were not only met, but exceeded. What does that have to do with anything, you might ask? Simple. The developers know that in our largely online world, first impressions are key. With all the, "first look," and the "Review" YouTube videos, they know that the first impression of their game is going to be a deciding factor on whether they get 1,000 dedicated players, or 100,000. Many people largely rely upon the opinion of some YouTubers on whether or not they purchase games and these people would never even consider Identity if the YouTubers go on and on about the bugs and issues with the game if it were to be released too early, or even complain that the game itself wasn't even ready to be released and thus criticize the dev's as money craving individuals. That being said, I believe the developers of this game are rightfully delaying the release so that our initial experience is positive, and memorable rather than getting into a game and ripping into countless hours of work because we can't even take the elevator to the correct room. NOW ON THE CONTRARY to what I have said above, I do believe the developers owe us some sort of apology to giving us dates, and then pulling them right out of our grasp and letting us down. I have followed this game for a while now, and made an account just over a year ago (I believe, maybe it is just under? but either way that's beside the point.) and the one thing the dev's have been consistent in is telling us a release date, and then extending said date. That being said, I do believe they owe us at least something and should own up to their mistakes in planting high hopes only to remove them and tell us to wait longer. In conclusion, however, I do believe they are doing good work and that this game is going to be one hell of a game given the people behind it, and the potential of exploring a, more or less, new idea for a game. On paper, this game is no doubt going to be one of the best games upon full release, and the dev's I believe are doing their best to see to it and have a game that competes with even the top game developing companies. So in the end, they are doing the best we can and as a community we should at least credit them that instead of bashing the work they wake up to do daily. But going with that, they do owe us some sort of an apology or explanation that furthers what they've said instead of vague terms used to tell us the game is, "close." Thanks for reading this, It only took me about ten minutes to type but it's what I more or less believe. They're doing what they can with what they have, and being such a small team they're doing really well.

1 pointHello! I just want to start a new life on the island of identity and I can't decide which city I want to settle in to. I was thinking Turtle Beach, but to live on the beach I want to have a nice apartment. but I am starting off with nothing! or Roseport, I heard how big it was and I was wondering if I should move there, but it is the biggest city and I don't know if I will be able to afford a safe place to live there... or maybe AshHill, I heard it is not the biggest city, I fell more comfortable there, but I don't know where it is on the island, sooo where should I start? what are of the city I should live? what career is good for me in that area? what kind of car would I be able to afford? will a have a nice apartment? will live a decant living? What what whaat? Answer In the comments!

1 pointNot true at all. TS is the first module that will be released, yes, HOWEVER they haven't spent this entire time working solely on the town square module, rather implementing and building the framework required for all the other modules, and thus, the game. They have said it themselves that the TS module will be the longest time to wait as they are doing the foundation work for the entire game before releasing and after TS release they expect the other modules to come faster. Think about it... Town Square is by far the most intensive module out of all of them as it requires the entire foundation of the game to be made in order to be released in working order. While on the other hand, the SWAT or racing module only require to build off of that major framework set down by the TS module in order to work.

1 pointGuys come on. We were told apartment customisation was going to be a thing in the TS module, I know for a fact we were because it was the feature I was most excited about. I have talked about it before. Now we are being told you won't be able to customise anything in your apartment but you can explore the base standard apartments? This is just going back on your word AGAIN. Come on!

1 pointI love the weird logical fallacies some people come up with "you joined this year; therefore your opinion is invalid" yeah... okay...
-
1 pointJust to clarify. You CAN customize apartments. What was said before was explaining a newer feature that was added. The ability to enter and physically roam every apartment interior ingame. As a way to get a feel for it before purchasing.
-
1 pointDevs have said hundreds of times that you can customize apartments in TS. They have also said many times that you will be able to check out all the other apartments that you can buy on the website. You need to cool it bro, you don’t know what your taking about.

1 pointIt's not that people are brainwashed. It's that some people have more patience than others. Because some people don't agree with you, they are brainwashed? Perhaps some people are brainwashed here because they've had everything handed to them on a silver platter via the larger gaming companies, so when it comes to times like these, they whine and complain about a nail being broken or something. However, I'm sure you'd rather not be considered brainwashed either, so why not just understand that people have different opinions? Anyway, I think what's really happening here is that some people don't understand the development process. You don't just simply create a game and people play it. The development process is long and tedious. I do think they could use a little more transparency; however, it's also a small company and that transparency would likely be really REALLY boring, especially if there's not much new to report.

1 pointWait wHat? Where did u hear this? This is 100% false. You can customize your apartment in TS!
-
1 pointOkay so in this roleplay game why doesn't someone else come up and steal the chess game alltogether / the pieces? Again... You're still trying to defend something that cannot be defended... Your defence again would be "now you're just being silly" Which is the exact same with your statement.. This game will mostly be full of players wanting a GTA / mafia style game not the average role playing ARMA server.

1 pointWhy not just make a thread that's flat out called "Reasons for the delay" and state everything in simple form, black and white, no sugar coating it. Even a jot list. It might stop some of these threads from being created, and if they are someone can link them to that thread.
-
1 pointI believe the best part of your post is the part I quoted. I agree, an ETA is necessary and they need to stick by it regardless of bugs. No game, in the history of gaming, has ever been released 100% bug-free. I hope they complete it soon, the main thing I'm afraid of is if they take too long someone is going to copy their idea and release a game before them. If that happens, everybody will jump ship off Identity and go to the completed one. We live in a world of entropy, focusing on near-perfection on the first release is naive, especially in a world where we have limited lifespans.
-
1 pointWe all get it, some people are getting fed up because it's been months after the first official release date. We're all upset about it, and so are the developers. I admit a single module shouldn't be taking that long, but I'm still being very patient. I've also stopped caring about when they say "soon" or any similar key words. I just tell myself it'll come when it'll come. I'll compile a bunch of comments from the team below (I wish there was a spoiler but whatever), but I know some people might TLDR:
