this game took 3 years to publish a module. Don't you dare say that the tracker is transparent. its NOT ! the Devs wanted to do the new website, Get the paying company to the website , finish a small task that took 1 month. And not publishing the Module?. we have got 2 Delays in the past. the artists are non-stop making 300+ clothes and not making the second module Lol show us the guns , the cars, the real stuff, not clothes. "if you Don't believe me check their twitter most of their tweets is about clothes and hats and furniture". even the CEO said the artists are actually working on the second module. Ok show us the work you did on the second module not clothes * SMH *. we begged the devs after we saw the horrible Police&Criminal video to change the animations, and then they showed us the Twitch stream WITH THE SAME WALKING ANIMATION ?!?!?! SMH what is this ? they never listen to us. most of this game is ART not coding and mechanics. and im sorry to say this but the devs really love to talk a lot , even Psysin which i dont like him , i kinda agreed with his complains. even the devs in the gaming stream were like WOW , thats cool, i like this and that.???? lol devs its like you dont see the work and probably acting and fake cheering for the ceo when he speaks on the stream. sorry to all but i kinda think that people shouldn't invest a single dollar to this project until FINAL release.

The devs should stop working on 3500 different lamps, couches, and different styles of shirts and instead focus on the game. Maybe the "module" could be released by the end of the year. There are still two more modules (SWAT and Racing) left. The full game will not be out until 2020 (or later). Remember when this was posted on Kickstart, the release date was 2016. I have watched this game for over a year and chose to wait before I pledged, which I am glad I did. Wish the devs would give people answers why this is taking so long. The "tracker" has had one item left for several weeks but the recent post says the tracker was updated 2 days ago (not sure what was updated). Those who have invested and pledged deserve answers and a release date now... not "soon."

I agree with a lot of what he is saying, it is not hate. Things are just fishy right now. Hope they do prove us wrong.

Ok. So If most of you wonderful community members remember me that is good. But for the rest of you who don't let me introduce myself again. I am TPlays. I have been backing this game for a long time. I mean a long time. Now the thing about that means I have seen the ups and a lot of downs. But I have always been on the dev teams side. But today I bring my first formal complaint. Why on God's Earth have we been at one task remaining for more than 2 months. I mean come on. I have done nothing but fight for this game and fight for people to know that I love and support this gAme. But devs you are making me look like an idiot. But none the less. I am still going to support that the devs deliver the game we were all promised a long time ago.

I know some of them you will get other versions of in-game, but some of the store items are exclusive in their layout/aesthetics. For example you'll be able to get a car with the same speed in-game only, but that particular LOOK of car in the store is store exclusive.

Hello everyone. Yesterday I posted my first post back on the forums. Now I am going to be active on the forums but I am here today to tell you all that I am still proud of this community. Wether we are arguing or begging for answers we are banded together. That is what will hopefully make this game succeed. Now IF anyone has any questions they would like me to bring up pls DM me or just comment on this post. I hope you all have a great day and I will be checking the forums all day!

As much as I dislike pessimism, this sort of mindset isn't helped by the Devs being in hiding. They've been working on a UI problem for ages now, it's the last module, the prices go up and no one knows what's happening with the game. If people were about to see or do something tangible to do with the game, like actually try this module that has been coming out for a long time, then people would probably be a lot more comfortable waiting.

At this point I can't help but agree. At first I thought it was legit - I saw 5 tasks left and I was excited, expecting TS to be out within a month or so. But it's been give or take 3 months now (I think?), and it's taking the piss now.

what happend to the monthly dev blogs ? and the new website is finished and they still didnt finish the last task in testing phase ? i have read the last dev blog and they said that later they will have video blogs not dev blogs

i have been for 6 years back when this idea was in arma life mod... they spoke about the days we are living in now. Just wait for it. its going to take at least another 2 years to get something out like a beta or something. GTA V took 11 years to make... We never got to complain because it was hidden.

I just don't understand how weve been on 1 task in testing for 2 months?

Nah, not a scam in the sense of the word. These guys are just in over their heads and have poor skills when it comes to management and funds, and communication is nonexistent. I agree the release date is certainly not imminent............but it's far from the scam the clickbait title kinda of hints at. I think release is going to be a mess too. (especially for those hyping it up as if it's made by a AAA-title making company) In the final release (after probably years to come tbh) I think it'll be an alright title for a seemingly relatively inexperienced team's first foray into complete conceptualization and game making. It is worrisome about their obvious misappropriation of funds (I consider it that) and that they've only managed this in 3+ years, but I think it will be released eventually and we will have a product, even if it is a ghost of the idea it was hyped to be.

first there will be another tracker to track how far the tracker already is. The tracker tracking the tracker that tracks the progress will take about 2 months tho so there will be a tracker who tracks the progress of the tackers tracking tracker. and yes i confused myself with that. * NOTE THAT THIS IS A JOKE *
  28. 1 point
nah they wouldn't do this..... theyd make another kickstarter or send no email and put the money in bank accounts in the Bahamas
  29. 1 point
uhh actually they did, it was one of the dev blogs where they said updates to the tracker will be daily and no task should take more than a few days to complete. that's why everyone was speculating June - august release date

I don't know... if you are going to make a rant video about anything, at least get your facts straight... lots of misinformation in there. And saying "I love to be proved wrong" trying to be the owner of the truth in both cases, doesn't add credibility to your words.

Poorly advocated, If my money is involved into something i will hold you accountable. We talked about this before and it's clear that they have extremely poor communication skills.

Update: Removed the Identity Life discord, as OhEric decided to shut down the community. And added a new Discord link, as requested in a PM. Just a reminder to anyone else who would like to get their server out there, feel free to post here, or send me a PM with a permanent invite link, and a description of your server. And I'll get it added ASAP.

The finishing touches Greetings, and again thank you, to all of Identity's backers receiving this dev blog. Everyone's been hard at work putting together a game that can change the industry, and you're soon going to be getting your first taste. With the Town Square (Identity's first social gameplay module) nearing release, we're hard at work testing and putting the finishing touches on two of the major features. Everything's been progressing very well and I'm quite proud of the team. These last systems are the art/canvas mechanics and the player housing. Both of these have been functional for a long time, although a couple tweaks need made before we push Town Square out the door. A few minutes of decorating an Ash Hill penthouse We've added a new button in the elevators to allow you to visit a public version of any apartment. You can run around and see them in their default state before committing to buying them for yourself. This will be a very useful way to explore the available options, given that some of the floorplans will be very rare to come across with other players. Above is the penthouse after a few minutes of quick decoration. I'm not exactly a decorator, myself, but you can get a good idea of the way it looks now! It's a huge space with three large bedrooms (which means you and two friends can use it as your home) and tons of storage. We've had to refactor the backend of the housing system a good bit, but the end result you see is everything you saw in the prior Identity Insider apartment video. All features shown then will be ready for you soon in the Town Square! We have lots of other cool features coming for your house parties that you haven't seen yet, too. In case you hadn't seen that video, or you want to see it again, I've linked it below. Identity Insider: Housing - CLICK TO VIEW VIDEO Town Square gameplay live stream With my last developer blog post I included a link to gameplay video from our live stream showing character creation and the exterior environment in the Town Square module. Recently, I joined in on another development live stream to show about 20 minutes of more Town Square gameplay. This time I showed off interior environments as well as a few of the gameplay mechanics you're going to come across in the Town Square. YouTube Town Square preview live stream 2 - CLICK TO VIEW VIDEO The team and I are so very excited to show you guys what we've made in the Town Square and beyond. The Town Square isn't enormous on its own, but it's a very good way to give you an idea of how the world looks and feels. The task master The Task Tracker is a new tool on our website which displays up-to-date data pertaining to how much work is remaining for the Town Square release. If you've been following our progress through the tracker, you'll have seen that just a couple of days ago it progressed to its current point, with only two tasks remaining at the in-testing state (the ones I described above in this blog post). Keep your eye on the tracker to get the best idea of when we're ready to go. You will of course also get notified by email when the Town Square is published on Steam! The future of the Dev Blog This may be one of the last couple developer blogs being sent out in this format as we're planning on soon transitioning to more frequent developer video blogs! In the past, it's always been myself who wrote these blog posts. They've been a great way to reach out and letting everyone who doesn't follow us on social media know what we've been up to. That said, I think I speak for most people when I say video is more interesting and entertaining! Look forward to meeting the team face-to-face in short but frequent videos. Some will be general updates about our work on Identity and some will be focused on certain aspects within the game. Also, on that note, you're going to be getting a very interesting Identity Insider very shortly, covering criminal activity and gameplay. It's a major part of the game and we've surprisingly not been asked many questions about these systems in the past. You'll be getting all kinds of juicy new information and ideas of what you're going to encounter! The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday. We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. This is the best place to get to know the fine details Identity! -- John VanderZwet

You can play chess, sing karaoke or order food in there. Submit art work to the art gallery or write books in the library. Buy clothes, customize your character, watch movies in the cinema and more! All shown in this video or others on the official youtube channel. Let me know if I can assist you with anything else.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) 1. How are Kickstarter backers different from website backers? There is only one difference between backer rewards for the Kickstarter and website. Kickstarter backers will receive a unique in-game hat with the Kickstarter logo. Website backers receive a hat with the Identity logo. No new content in the future will ever display either of these logos. 2. Many people are confused on what the game is about. Would you mind telling us what your vision for the game is? Is the game more about Cops vs Robbers, or a balance between all the available paths? Identity is a cops and robbers game at heart, but it is a life simulator in so many other ways. We’re catering to role-play in a way that is possibly the first of its kind. Players have the freedom to pursue careers that will impact the player economy in their own unique way. Become a taxi driver, deliver goods to player-owned businesses, fight fires, save lives, argue a case in criminal court, or just hold out your hand and beg for money. Find, or steal your ‘identity’! 3. What can you tell us about the world? World size? Player limit? We anticipate that the playable world size will be 200 square kilometers, or 77 square miles in comparison. This means that the whole map is 14 km wide, and would take about an hour and a half to walk across. We hope to support up to 300 players (or more!) per server. 4. Can you expand on the professions? We know there will be cops, but what types of jobs will be available for civilians? Will they be able to create their own businesses? Create their own items? etc. Also, Medics and Firefighters? Players can choose from a wide range of professions, including the ability to become a Firefighter, EMT, Taxi Driver, Farmer, Bounty Hunter, Fisherman, Logger, Miner, Delivery Driver and even a business entrepreneur. The options available to you as a player get more specific than this even, but we aren’t yet ready to expand on the full list. The direction of development is prone to change, and we don’t want to promise anything that might change down the pipeline. Business ownership allows players to own factories and small business, giving them control over what items are manufactured and sold. Items created by a factory must be delivered to their destination city where store owners in that area can decide what quantity and type (formal wear, casual, punk outfits, weapons, etc.) they wish to list in their business. Some default items are always available in all stores for when market demand is not met. 5. How will death be handled? When a player dies, some items such as the money the player is carrying at that time, will be dropped on the ground and will become accessible to anyone in the area that wishes to take it. Clothing items will never be dropped. We have decided that a player’s character appearance in a social game like Identity is important. You will always look the way you decide your character to look. If the player is not resusitated by an EMT or teammate, the player is then prompted to respawn at the location of their last sync (house, apartment, city) Private servers have some control over what types of items players will drop on death, if any at all. 6. Can you expand on how the housing system will work? Size and availability of apartments and houses? Players can choose to own or rent housing in Identity, while apartments can also be shared with a friend or roommate depending on the size of the property. For instance, two friends, or a married couple can choose to purchase a 2 bedroom apartment where they both can live comfortably with each other. Apartments and houses are fully customizable, allowing players to place furniture and objects anywhere in the room. Home-owners can invite other players into their apartment or house at any time. Players cannot access another players home without an invitation. 7. Will there be any specific safe areas where people can go AFK or sit and socialize without being killed or robbed? There are safe zones within certain types of buildings in Identity. Metal detectors serve to preserve immersion, and will temporarily remove any weapons upon entry, allowing all players in the area to safely relax, socialize and meet new friends. These safe zones are known to us as “Sub-Hubs” or social gathering points that reflect on the lifestyle theme of their environment (Biker Bar, Business club, Bum alley, etc.). While many of these areas can only be accessed by law-abiding citizens, some Sub-Hubs are neutral and can be entered by any player on the map. Few areas are designated gathering points for active criminals looking for the right crime of opportunity, or new friends to help them plan their next heist. 8. How will player identification work in game? Will names appear above players heads? If so, at what distances will they be seen? As our design stands right now, the official servers do display names over heads within certain ranges. Some things like masks and balaclavas can affect this. Moreover, private servers have an option where they can hide names from all players unless greeted. By this I mean you won’t see the name over another player until they perform an emote action, after which you’ll always see their name.
