The finishing touches Greetings, and again thank you, to all of Identity's backers receiving this dev blog. Everyone's been hard at work putting together a game that can change the industry, and you're soon going to be getting your first taste. With the Town Square (Identity's first social gameplay module) nearing release, we're hard at work testing and putting the finishing touches on two of the major features. Everything's been progressing very well and I'm quite proud of the team. These last systems are the art/canvas mechanics and the player housing. Both of these have been functional for a long time, although a couple tweaks need made before we push Town Square out the door. A few minutes of decorating an Ash Hill penthouse We've added a new button in the elevators to allow you to visit a public version of any apartment. You can run around and see them in their default state before committing to buying them for yourself. This will be a very useful way to explore the available options, given that some of the floorplans will be very rare to come across with other players. Above is the penthouse after a few minutes of quick decoration. I'm not exactly a decorator, myself, but you can get a good idea of the way it looks now! It's a huge space with three large bedrooms (which means you and two friends can use it as your home) and tons of storage. We've had to refactor the backend of the housing system a good bit, but the end result you see is everything you saw in the prior Identity Insider apartment video. All features shown then will be ready for you soon in the Town Square! We have lots of other cool features coming for your house parties that you haven't seen yet, too. In case you hadn't seen that video, or you want to see it again, I've linked it below. Identity Insider: Housing - CLICK TO VIEW VIDEO Town Square gameplay live stream With my last developer blog post I included a link to gameplay video from our live stream showing character creation and the exterior environment in the Town Square module. Recently, I joined in on another development live stream to show about 20 minutes of more Town Square gameplay. This time I showed off interior environments as well as a few of the gameplay mechanics you're going to come across in the Town Square. YouTube Town Square preview live stream 2 - CLICK TO VIEW VIDEO The team and I are so very excited to show you guys what we've made in the Town Square and beyond. The Town Square isn't enormous on its own, but it's a very good way to give you an idea of how the world looks and feels. The task master The Task Tracker is a new tool on our website which displays up-to-date data pertaining to how much work is remaining for the Town Square release. If you've been following our progress through the tracker, you'll have seen that just a couple of days ago it progressed to its current point, with only two tasks remaining at the in-testing state (the ones I described above in this blog post). Keep your eye on the tracker to get the best idea of when we're ready to go. You will of course also get notified by email when the Town Square is published on Steam! The future of the Dev Blog This may be one of the last couple developer blogs being sent out in this format as we're planning on soon transitioning to more frequent developer video blogs! In the past, it's always been myself who wrote these blog posts. They've been a great way to reach out and letting everyone who doesn't follow us on social media know what we've been up to. That said, I think I speak for most people when I say video is more interesting and entertaining! Look forward to meeting the team face-to-face in short but frequent videos. Some will be general updates about our work on Identity and some will be focused on certain aspects within the game. Also, on that note, you're going to be getting a very interesting Identity Insider very shortly, covering criminal activity and gameplay. It's a major part of the game and we've surprisingly not been asked many questions about these systems in the past. You'll be getting all kinds of juicy new information and ideas of what you're going to encounter! The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday. We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. I think it’s alright. We might not be the most open on names, but we’ve put them out there for people to see. Just got to look in the right areas. Appreciate your wishes in wanting to have respect for the team, Preston_Bodhi_343, but really, it’s okay

This post was literally just discussing issues people have in the community and I was enjoying hearing other peoples opinions on the state of the game. Nothing said in here was straight "Fuck this game" or anything, so don't close it when some people are trying to have a conversation just because you don't like it.

Here is an idea I have been thinking about for a while, as a decent 3D modeler for games and such, I think it would be cool to send 3D artwork to be approved and brought into the game! The fan would texture and 3D model. Submit renders of the artwork and proof that they created it. I think it would be an awesome way to make the little stuff in the game from the community. What are your thoughts?

How's it going everyone? Thought I would stop by and drop a police department structure I've been adapted over the years of my Digital Policing career. Pretty much have been doing digital law enforcement for GTA 4 LCDPFR RP and GTA 5 FiveM RP for about 7 years and this is the system I have found to work best. A lot of this information is pulled from a Officer Handbook that I have compiled over time. Pretty much going to initially cover Rank Structure and Department Units, however if someone would like me to add in other information I might be up for it. Rank Structure Command Staff Chief of Police / CoP ( ) – The Chief of Police (COP) is the highest-ranking officer in the Police Department. The COP is responsible for the planning, efficient administration, and operation of the Police Department. Assistant Chief of Police / ACoP ( ) - The Assistant Chief of Police (ACoP) assists the Chief of Police with management and operations of the Police Department. The Assistant Chief is the Officer in Charge of the department in the Chief’s absence. Administrative Staff Captain / Cpt ( ) - A Captain is assigned a designated bureau (Patrol, Special Operations, etc.) to which they have complete power of for efficient management and control. May schedule bureau wide meetings. Lieutenant / Lt ( ) - A Lieutenant is assigned as an assistant to a Captain to help with management and operations of a designated bureau. A Lieutenant will take control of the bureau in Captain's absence. May schedule bureau wide meetings. Supervisory Staff Sergeant / Sgt ( ) - A Sergeant is the primary supervisory position in the department and is required to provide instruction to assigned staff in the operation of their required duties. The basic capacity of a Sergeant is patrol supervision, but administrative and specialized assignments are also available. Police Officer III+I / POIII+I ( ) - After a month of being a Police Officer III and having served for three months in the department one becomes eligible to apply for the Supervisor Program. After passing the application and completing the interview they can embark on the Supervisor Program and receive their promotion to Police Officer III+I (SLO), a rank held exclusively by those embarking on SP. During this time, they will be tasked with basic field supervision and administrative tasks and will be mentored and trained by current Sergeants to become future Sergeants. Officer Ranks Police Officer III / POIII ( ) - After a month of being a Police Officer II, an officer becomes eligible for the promotion to Police Officer III. A Police Officer III is responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances; protecting life and property; issuing citations, making arrests, preparing reports; meeting with community members; working as a team member; and providing information to the public and departmental units. Police Officer II / POII - A Police Officer II performs basic duties such as: responding to the scene of a crime or an accident; interviewing suspects and witnesses; writing crime reports; responding to radio calls; monitoring any suspicious activity of ongoing crimes; coordinating vehicular traffic; visiting open businesses such as banks, markets, department stores, and service stations to establish a rapport with owners; booking suspects and evidence and transporting them to the appropriate Police Department facility; responding to citizens’ and visitors’ questions; and preparing Daily Field Activity Reports. Police Officer I / POI - The next step in the career ladder with the Police Department is Police Officer I. It is the rank given to all officers upon completion of the Training Program which consists of the Police Academy and FTO Phase. This rank is considered a probationary position. Cadet / Trainee - In the Police Academy, Cadets are taught criminal law, civilian interaction, and police procedure. In addition, they are trained in report writing, firearms, and driving. In the FTO Phase, Trainees continue to gain on the job experience and get one on one training with a senior officer. A Trainee will automatically advance to Police Officer I upon successful completion of the Field Training Program. Department Units Patrol Bureau The Patrol Bureau is the front line of the force and the largest unit within the department. The Patrol Division is composed dedicated and hardworking individuals that work to ensure smooth and effective community policing. These officers are under the supervision of one Captain and one Lieutenant who oversee all operations of the division. All new hires are detailed to Patrol upon the approval of their application and will be guided to success by supervisors and fellow members. Patrol Officers are responsible for patrolling the city, responding to routine calls for service, emergency responses, traffic enforcement, and maintaining a positive police presence throughout the city. Patrol Officers are the first point of contact for victims of crime and offenders. Usually what I like to do with the Patrol Division is have a Sergeant as a Squad Leader that has 5-10 Officers assigned to him. Prefer to keep it no more than 5 for low work load with management of your team (tracking activity, giving addition training, mentoring, etc.). Each Sergeant would report to the Patrol Lieutenant or Captain. Special Operations Bureau Here's an example of some of the specialty units that have been deployed over the years. There are others that could be added to this list but its unknown at this time if Identity will have the features to warrant having those units. Officers are allowed to apply to specialty units after holding the rank of POII for at least 2 weeks. With specialty units most people are only limited to one. There are a few cases where multiple specialty units can be combined like Traffic and Canine. S.W.A.T. members can also be apart of other divisions since it is a part-time unit. Traffic Unit The Traffic Unit is a unit of Patrol Officers dedicated to traffic related incidents. From aggressive traffic enforcement, DUI checkpoints, accident response and investigation, to aggressive pursuit intervention, Traffic Unit is here to ensure the roads and highways of remain safe for all drivers. Canine Unit The K-9 Unit provides a team of highly trained Officers & Canines capable of performing a variety of functions from narcotics and explosives detection, all the way to tracking suspects. Street Crimes Unit Street Crimes specializes in both apprehension of criminals as well as crime suppression. Officers are field trained for crime investigation and crime interception. They also specialize in sting operations and work closely with the SWAT to apprehend criminals. S.W.A.T. The SWAT team responds to various tactical events such as narcotics and prostitution stings, "jump outs", active shooters, and armed robbery response. Officers are trained in various fields such as building entry & clearing, crisis negotiation, aerial deployments, and long-range marksmanship. Administrative Bureau This third bureau is usually monitored and lead by the Chief and Assistant Chief in smaller departments. In larger departments a Captain is put in place to supervise the lead officers of the Administrative Divisions. Officers are allowed to apply to FTO after holding the rank of POII for at least 2 weeks. Officers can apply to HR and IA at the rank of POIII. Field Training Officers (FTOs) Field Training Officers have significant additional responsibilities over and above their law enforcement duties when assigned to train a new officer. In addition to performing in an exemplary manner, while trainees closely watch, FTOs must slow their pace to review the purpose and detail of every new encounter. FTOs must guide trainees through a comprehensive curriculum that requires the blending of knowledge and skills, and the good judgement of when, where, and how to apply them. Human Resources Human Resources staff are tasked with processing applications, conducting interviews, and maintaining personnel data (important dates, disciplinary action logs, patrol activity). Internal Affairs Internal Affairs is a division of the that investigates and makes decisions on cases brought forward by the public regarding the conduct, actions, policy, procedure, practice, philosophy, service or legal standard of the department or an employee thereof.

I would expect it to be in the millions for the mansions like Scarface, the penthouses could easily be hundreds of thousands. Bearing in mind prices are going to heavily reflect real life and the real life Scarface mansion is worth millions.

Discrete payroll? Benefits? Inside information? I mean, the list goes on... being a Private Investigator simply means you establish a network yourself to speak with people. People don't have to want to speak with the police, but speaking with a P.I. could mean they benefit financially, or the P.I. buries some of their evidence, or gives them something valuable in return. It was simply an observation on the "Information shop" business that was mentioned. If you're a publicly known shop for double dealing, no one will trust you. If you're a "certified" P.I. and have your own network, you work on a contract basis and underline that you can't work for the people you're investigating etc... You can easily obtain yourself a good reputation and be paid well for services rendered, which ultimately could filter down to your informants.

We’ve allowed ourselves to be trapped, into this impure way of life, Into this society in which does not hold the values and ideals of every man and woman. Our teachers, our mentors and our politicians do not teach us the right way to walk. Instead lead us down a dark, gloomy path ridden with shadows and forgery. As humans we pick and choose what to think, what to say and what to do In the eyes of what is morally right due to our own opinions and identities. If we are led down this path it is due to to people in which hold high status in society, obviously. Over the course of time we’ve come to identity our politics and beliefs on personal ideals and worries found through the people we want to be, we want to see, we want to believe are better than us. We believe these ideas and beliefs as if it were true even if it was horribly in-correct. The idea in which humans who cross that dark and gloomy path are set to become ones who hold high values of virtue. The ones who choose not to spread their decency and integrity will be set to stay in that gloomy forest until their day is done. Our past generations shared the simple thought of etiquette and dignity. Today we do not share that thought of dignity and etiquette. Oh such a simple thought, oh such a hard thing to learn Tell me how we’ve come so far into the future, we’ve made great strides in science and great strides in social equity, but we cannot think of even learning how to have common dignity towards our fellow American. Why has it come down to this? We've got everything we need and more, yet we want more. At this moment I cannot think of any reasons. Why is there a cloud above our heads raining hate and lies on the commonwealth, why can you not pick up that umbrella which is right in front of you with no barriers That umbrella, open it up and you'll quickly realize that everybody has equal opportunity. No matter who you are. Sponsored by Better Dead Than Red.

Patience, my friend. Find some other games to get invested into so time goes by a bit faster. If you're just checking the tracker all day time will go by slower and slower. Try to forget about it for awhile, when the devs feel it's ready, they'll release it.

And that is the exact reason they will not rush out any unplayable broken alpha module. They have to nail it first time, even if they lose a few impatients backers along the way.

In my opinion this game unfortunately will not run its course... They will probably release TS around late august to early september, by then everyone will be even more pissed than they are now and what will happen when they login to TS? Be able to walk around, play chess and sing some karaoke? Everyone is begging for TS to be released, not really realising that it is literally just the engine? Oh wait... i think you can pick up a paper too... So following this release, people will get their refunds because there is nothing to actually do in the game and the time frame between modules will clearly be a very long process with minimal communication from devs to investors. This will equal a pissed off player base who as I just said, will either get a refund, or just simply stop playing the game. By the time the full game comes out (if it ever actually does) it will have lost its player base, community and will not get off the ground properly. The more likely outcome is it getting almost to module 2 and the whole thing just crashing down due to lack of funding.

They lack the intelligence to form proper sentences, which means they lack the intelligence required to come to competent conclusions. This also includes researching answers to their own questions, reading the words on their monitor, and comprehending that just because errors occur does not mean everything is fallacious. The obnoxious attitudes and stupidity that @HairyGrenade, @LuckyDuck and the Identity team have to endure is unbelievable.

The task tracker is updated whether there is a visual change or not because if it isn't, then we are barraged with questions about why it hasn't been updated at all. For it to be updated with no visual change really isn't that big a deal, it just lets you know it's still being worked no. If it wasn't updated for 3 days, you wouldn't know whether the remaining tasks are really done or not.

A visual feast! As we approach the release of the Town Square, it's time to start showing off! Identity's gameplay is unique; there's no game in the world which accomplishes what we've set out to create and as a result, this will be one of the most immersive gaming experiences available. In some senses, graphics weigh heavily on environmental immersion and we've really started to show Identity's beauty in this last week. Last week, we did a short live stream on Twitch to show off the Town Square in motion. If you weren't there for the stream, check out the details below. Ash Hill Cinema ticket booth In addition to Identity's artistic beauty, we also want to show you what the base gameplay will be like in the Town Square. We do plan on doing another stream shortly where we'll move on into the interiors and interact with some of the features you'll find when you log into the Town Square. We'll have to mute the karaoke and streaming radio elements for Twitch and YouTube, though. I really do wish we had more time in our last stream but we were an hour late getting the stream started and what was meant to be a 10 minute display ended up being half an hour long. Half of that time was spent in character creation, so if that's of any interest to you be sure to check out the stream. I'll leave the video below. Ash Hill's Town Square in early morning Ash Hill's Town Square at night With our next gameplay stream, I'd really like to show off the Town Square at night. Check out the screenshot above to see why I feel that night in Identity has an incredible atmosphere. Night will be useful in Identity too; for example, some animals will be more active when the sun goes down. Just imagine running from (or with) the cops in the dark of night! A beautiful and well-designed environment makes great gameplay even better. Ash Hill's fruit and vegetable market As you can tell by now, I went a bit overboard taking screenshots of the Town Square environment. I'm so proud with what our art team has accomplished, so you're getting a handfull with this developer blog! The market seen here is in the Town Square, although it won't be the only food market in Ash Hill. Markets play a fairly important role, and not only for your own access to food. Gathering and growing food will be a safe and reliable way to make some money in Identity. It doesn't require any sort of investment, so it's one of your options for making a living the moment you step foot in the world. It will get much easier with a vehicle, though. RIDE bicycle shop The screenshot above is from the interior of the bicycle store you'll find in the Town Square. You won't be able to buy them right away, but once we start implementing our final vehicles we'll likely unlock the bikes in the Town Square, too. Bicycles will be an important tool in Identity. If you can't afford a vehicle (they're not cheap) then they're your best option for getting around town without dishing out cash for a cab. Ash Hill Tattoo interior My final screenshot today was the interior of the tattoo shop you'll find in the center of Ash Hill, and thus the Town Square. Hidden in the back of the parking lot behind the DMV, this parlor will be opening shortly after the Town Square release. Tattoos in Identity are either paid for or earned; some tattoos are only unlocked with achivements, most of which being for less than legal actions. Tattoos aren't available during character creation and must be gotten through a shop such as this. Town Square gameplay live stream YouTube Town Square preview stream If you missed our live stream of Town Square gameplay last week, click on that big image above to check it out now. If your email client is afraid and you don't see the images, you can always click here. I spent the first while creating a character and then took a quick look around the exterior of the Town Square environment. I can't wait to show more! The tasks at hand Our new task tracker has been one of the most well received additions we've ever released, and it's very easy to see why. As the Asylum developers continue to knock out tasks daily, we're getting very, very close to allowing you all into the Town Square. As of my writing this, only 3 primary tasks remain and are already in progress. The tracker is showing only Town Square tasks, although many of those in our team (who don't have anything left for the Town Square release) are already hard at work producing SWAT module content. It won't be long before you start seeing a lot of our SWAT efforts appearing, and I'm extremely excited to give you more information on how it'll play. Keep your eyes on the tracker, as it will continue (even after Town Square release) to be the best indicator of when you can get your taste. A quick thank you to our supporters We've been working hard to create the game that can, quite seriously, affect the entire MMORPG industry. Nothing like Identity has been done before, mostly because a game of this scale is a risky project for any established studio. It is because of you receiving this update, our pledgers and supporters, that our dreams and ambitions are becoming a reality. The ultimate RPG is on the horizon, and I'm so very grateful to the wonderful community around me. Again, I just want to say thank you as I sincerely appreciate your support. You're helping to create a game which thousands, who don't even know we're here yet, will come to enjoy. You're here on the ground floor.
