2 pointsPatience, my friend. Find some other games to get invested into so time goes by a bit faster. If you're just checking the tracker all day time will go by slower and slower. Try to forget about it for awhile, when the devs feel it's ready, they'll release it.
-
2 pointsFew? They are losing tonnes of people and also losing a lot of people's interest at this point. People are absolutely sick of waiting. Whether it's good or it's bad, just give us something to play with! At least then we can see for ourselves whether it is worth our time or not.

2 pointsI mean I agree with most things you say but I don't think your comment on people asking for refunds is very fair. It's not that they "threw money blind without thinking," it's that they chose to back a game which has failed to meet up to it's own deadlines (which none of us set), and has failed to deliver on really any promise. When they chose to back the game they had an expectation that the game would come out at some point and had trust on the devs. With not a single promise being delivered on, they no longer have trust in the development team and therefor no longer wish to back the product. As much as I am on the devs team, that is entirely their own fault and I am sure even the project leaders would agree that they have made these mistakes. Let's take a real product. Imagine you are pitching a real product to an investor. You mention how you will have a working prototype, you give them milestones and deadlines for the release of your product, you have an amazing pitch and based on that the investor chooses to invest. If that investor later finds that none of your deadlines have been met, you are months behind schedule and while you had a great pitch, that is really the only thing you had and everything else was just false promises, they will likely chose to withdraw their investment. This is what crowdfunding is. It is a two-way exchange. It's not just we throw money at someone and say "you do whatever you want and take however long you need", you are investing into a product for which you have expectations. If your expectations aren't met, you may no longer wish to invest. I feel that there is some confusion on here about all of this. I did not 'donate' to this games development. I invested in it. I am willing to accept the failed deadlines and allow the developers the time and space they need, however some people are not, and I don't think it's fair to say those people just randomly threw money at a product without thinking. There is blame on both sides here.

1 pointHonestly kind of disappointed with how long its taking for this game to come out. According to the frequent questions page, the town square module was supposed to be released early 2017 and its almost late 2018. Hopefully it comes out soon.
-
1 pointSo... We're about two months behind the "definite" release date of Town Square now. I'm not one to complain at this stuff as I understand game development can take longer than expected when you really want to perfect something. However, the Town Square is essentially a beta module, so really it doesn't need to be perfect before it can be released, that said I'm really looking forward to actually getting in to see what the game looks and feels like, and how the interactions work. My biggest worry with Asylum right now, is not their failure to meet their own deadlines, but it's the complete lack of official communication. I've posted numerous times now that Asylum need to be more engaging with their community; there's nothing being released on their own official website about... well, anything. - The last announcement was April 20th. - The last dev-blog was a month ago. - The last stream was 3 days ago (quite recent, but before that, it was a month... and there's only 5 videos total on their YouTube channel). - The twitch account doesn't seem to have any real content aside from watching someone design a singular object with someone talking over it... and while it's cool to see some things being made by professionals, I really don't get why objects like this are still being made when the module is two months behind its definite release date... surely a deck-chair or lamp or whatever can wait. That's purely aesthetic extras which shouldn't be holding up development at all. - The last I heard was the TS module will be released when the new website goes live at the end of April / start of May, but still no website or any further update on that front. So what gives? Why is there an absolute void between Asylum and their own community? Either I'm missing critical information channels here that are filling these voids, or there's a massive void where there should be a huge flow of information two months past their own deadline. It really shouldn't be too difficult with a Community Manager to simply put out a quick update article every week detailing what's happening, why there are delays, what the team is working on, where the game's direction is heading etc... you know, simply engage with your community. I used to have a huge presence in Halo 3's Forge on a community site called Forge Hub, and we released several article pieces weekly... it isn't that difficult, and the staff members back then did it all for free. One article every three months is NOT keeping a community informed, and currently a lot of this community aren't just community members, they've paid in advance for this game and need to be treated like customers... and you shouldn't be misinforming and keeping your customers in the dark. EDIT: This isn't a topic to discuss the deadline, or why development is slow... it is to discuss the lack of communication, and why the communications put out there are all scattered across several different media outlets, as opposed to being uniform and on their own website.

1 pointUnfortunately, I can't. Now go get your fuckin' shinebox.

1 pointThe (english) Friends for Life mod really makes Mafia 2 better. It's like free ride but with tons of cool content. Check before you download it, because there could be viruses on fishy websites. By the way, I love your "Quotes" section on your signature.

1 pointThank you, Vincent! We are growing fast, I guess it wasn't just me getting sick of the leftist propaganda being spewed onto the forums. Hope to see you in game also, stop by our bar for a drink on the house!

1 pointI imagine you saying that in a soft asmr voice lol, but yeah you can be right, just its been 3 1/2 years and nothing yet.

1 pointTo be honest, I've never had the displeasure of experiencing a poor airline. I've heard things obviously but I usually fly with Delta or Lufthansa when I travel to Europe. I've heard some bad things about American Airlines, very cheap but the planes themselves are practically falling apart.
-
1 pointIt's interesting to see something different besides all these left-wing organizations that somehow think they can revolutionize the entire island without any consequences or backlash. Hope to see you all in-game.

1 pointBeen waiting for a comment like this for months and months, i like the way you think and 100% agree
-
1 pointTo the people thinking it will come next week, you're out of your minds. This 1 task alone that's been completed has taken multiple weeks, and there's no reason to believe these last 2 won't.
-
1 pointPeople are treating Town Square like a completely different game instead of a module!
-
1 pointI'd hope so. The devs have said that once Town Square releases they'll still be continuously working on it so more features and polished content will release until all modules are released and we hit beta
-
1 pointThis game won't be bigger or have more content than Fallout 4. Anyone actually thinking this will be anywhere near the scale of a AAA game is going to be disappointed. Also, they're not doing everything from scratch. They're using UE4, which is a fantastic, highly customizable base to work from with a lot of foundation work already done.
-
1 pointYes indeed, but I said "A lot of" meaning not all of them are blind pledgers who refund but a lot of them are. Here are my things, I look for before throwing money and also most things people should be looking for. 1. Do I like the concept? 2. How big is the Team? 3. What estimate have they given to me for something to be delivered upon? 4. What estimate do I think is realistic? 5. What road bumps do I need to consider along the development roadway? 6. What problems could cause a delay in the development? 7. How long am I willing to wait? 8. Do i want to wait? 9. Do I think I have the patience to wait? 10. How badly do I want the game/ thing to become a reality? 11. How much do I want to help development? 12. Am I financially able to Pledge anything? 13. Do i need to consider any other options? After I have asked myself all these questions, I then decide whether or not I am going to pledge. In this case, for Identity I pledged straight away. I also pledged the amount I was financially capable to do but I wanted to help more but was unable to at the time. I still help in pledging for my friends. I also Pledge and get Beach to do a giveaway on the livestream. I am supporting them in every way i possibly can and Just because I love the idea it will be something, I also put in the fact that I am not going to get a refund because I pledged to help, I never pledged because i know I am getting the items in the pledge. I want to make the game a reality but if it fails okay. However People don't consider asking themselves half of these questions before pledging. They don't research things before making the decision.
-
1 pointSo what I got out of what you just stated is that the 1.2mill isn't enough for them to build on, that explains why there no game release yet because the 1.2mill is totally not enough since they need around 20mill, Oh and the refund thing gosh you make me laugh why in the world would you think so many people wanted a refund, umm maybe because there unclear they will not be wasting there money on false promises.
-
1 pointThe game was kickstarted from concept, there was no game before the kickstarter and also you crowd fund your game to help fund development early on. A lot of the money was from their own pockets at first. Refunds don't counted, they might not make a dent but still doesn't change the stance. Also They are growing, but Games cost a lot more than 1.25million nowadays. The average game development funds is about $20 - $30 Million I bet. Re-phrased - Extra: The dev team is small, currently mid 20's on how many there are and well also the first year of development there was only 3 devs. They have grown and have been improving little by little in all different areas. There are not that many refunds, but a lot of the refunds are because people throw money blind without thinking about it. People do not research on things before putting money in a game which is in early development. @xfinityprime
-
1 pointLol Well you would think with 1,260,759 Dollars Raised, That the team wouldn't be so small still. come on really think about it, If your first building a game you don't just sell your idea of a game to the public in hope's of making it. You should have at least half the product or prototype of the product before making fails hope's.
-
1 pointGod its so annoying to see everyday another post about how long this takes. Does anybody these days know how long it takes to develop a game in this size with a small team?
-
1 pointFull agreement. I've been saying this stuff for awhile now - as a fellow indie developer, I think dev to playerbase communication is imperative! Organization is important as well. Consistency. And transparency.
-
1 pointThey've been saying Town Square Module would be released back in December, then Easter, now its summer lol
-
1 pointI've been keeping an eye on the Dev Tracker they have put up for a while. Every now and then I'll look and see somethings gone from "In Progress" to "In Testing", or just "Completed" all together. Progress is being made.
-
1 pointAs a billiards player, it would be awesome to have a tournament or gamble system involved into it, or possibly make it a hobby with a skill tree with it. It would be nice but not needed lol, also wondering if you can submit pictures you take with your in game phone into the art gallery? I know its early to say but is there a way to get a heads up on what careers/hobbies are going to be implemented into the game?
-
1 pointCause im a fucking corrupt cop
-
0 pointsI have $500.00 invested for over a year and have zero problem with not having my hand held. Just watch the tracker and let the team finish TS.
-
0 pointsTL:DR ( too long didn't read ) The game is fine, it's a work in progress and is almost ready. Yes the devs didn't meet their deadlines but it wasn't really a deadline and that's why they introduced the dev tracker so we could see how long is left. Secondly the town square is by no means a beta module, it's a pre-alpha module and the beta comes after all 3 modules have released. The devs Haven't been good at communicating in the past but are trying to be better now, to be honest what would you rather have? Devs working hard on the game or not working as hard because they're giving us an update every 5 seconds? In other words have patience like the rest of us and relax. It'll be ready when the remaining tasks are finished, the new website will hopefully launch at the same time and once the steam verification process has been approved we'll be able to play town square.
