3 pointsSo... We're about two months behind the "definite" release date of Town Square now. I'm not one to complain at this stuff as I understand game development can take longer than expected when you really want to perfect something. However, the Town Square is essentially a beta module, so really it doesn't need to be perfect before it can be released, that said I'm really looking forward to actually getting in to see what the game looks and feels like, and how the interactions work. My biggest worry with Asylum right now, is not their failure to meet their own deadlines, but it's the complete lack of official communication. I've posted numerous times now that Asylum need to be more engaging with their community; there's nothing being released on their own official website about... well, anything. - The last announcement was April 20th. - The last dev-blog was a month ago. - The last stream was 3 days ago (quite recent, but before that, it was a month... and there's only 5 videos total on their YouTube channel). - The twitch account doesn't seem to have any real content aside from watching someone design a singular object with someone talking over it... and while it's cool to see some things being made by professionals, I really don't get why objects like this are still being made when the module is two months behind its definite release date... surely a deck-chair or lamp or whatever can wait. That's purely aesthetic extras which shouldn't be holding up development at all. - The last I heard was the TS module will be released when the new website goes live at the end of April / start of May, but still no website or any further update on that front. So what gives? Why is there an absolute void between Asylum and their own community? Either I'm missing critical information channels here that are filling these voids, or there's a massive void where there should be a huge flow of information two months past their own deadline. It really shouldn't be too difficult with a Community Manager to simply put out a quick update article every week detailing what's happening, why there are delays, what the team is working on, where the game's direction is heading etc... you know, simply engage with your community. I used to have a huge presence in Halo 3's Forge on a community site called Forge Hub, and we released several article pieces weekly... it isn't that difficult, and the staff members back then did it all for free. One article every three months is NOT keeping a community informed, and currently a lot of this community aren't just community members, they've paid in advance for this game and need to be treated like customers... and you shouldn't be misinforming and keeping your customers in the dark. EDIT: This isn't a topic to discuss the deadline, or why development is slow... it is to discuss the lack of communication, and why the communications put out there are all scattered across several different media outlets, as opposed to being uniform and on their own website.

3 pointsThey lack the intelligence to form proper sentences, which means they lack the intelligence required to come to competent conclusions. This also includes researching answers to their own questions, reading the words on their monitor, and comprehending that just because errors occur does not mean everything is fallacious. The obnoxious attitudes and stupidity that @HairyGrenade, @LuckyDuck and the Identity team have to endure is unbelievable.

2 pointsThe task tracker is updated whether there is a visual change or not because if it isn't, then we are barraged with questions about why it hasn't been updated at all. For it to be updated with no visual change really isn't that big a deal, it just lets you know it's still being worked no. If it wasn't updated for 3 days, you wouldn't know whether the remaining tasks are really done or not.

2 pointsI did want to take a moment to mention some of my favorite forum members, based on their activity. Firstly of course, @LuciousTimes...that could have been seen a mile away. There are more though, @Vincent_Luciano, @Anonymous_Citizen, @Frank, @KIRBYDUDE, @Micky_Tohmpson, @LuckyDuck, @Identity_Party_Org, @DrivenMuffin, @JoelKeys, @MichaelPayne, @Andrew811 and so many more. I hope to see you all in game one day.

1 pointGreetings citizens of Ash Hill, we just wrapped up today's stream where John showcased some more game play of the the upcoming Town Square module, interacting with numerous items in the game world, showcasing interiors, emotes and more! Take a look here!

1 pointBETTER DEAD THAN RED About Us: The BDTR movement aims to protect the citizens of identity from the threat of communism, with the rise of communist and socialist movements growing we need an organization to keep them at bay. The communists will reply to this saying "WhaT Do YoU MeAn THe ThReaT of ComMunism1!!" whilst simultaneously having organizations set up to "execute" capitalists and law enforcement who are just doing their job, they will try to bully you into believing that every worker wants a communist society whilst this is simply not the case, unlike communists and socialists BDTR members know how to open up a history book and see the destruction and pain every single communist movement caused. They claim they are communists because they do not want the product of their labor to go to someone who has never worked a day in their life, when in communism it goes to an EVEN smaller group of people who do not work a day in their life, whilst they also control everything about your life. However I'm sure I don't need to explain why communism is bad to 95% of you reading this. What we do: Although the BDTR movement is listed under criminal organizations, we are far from criminals but this is the best suited place for it as we are willing to perform illegal activities if it is for the greater good towards protecting our citizens and law enforcement that risk their lives to keep us safe. Unlike our communist counterparts, we will not just walk around "executing" communists, because our brains have actually developed past a primitive state and we do not want to kill someone just because of their beliefs! However, if the communists want war, we will give them a bloody war! BDTR is a non-commitment organization meaning we understand people have lives to live and money to be made, so we have absolutely no problems with you simultaneously being apart of another organization. Back onto the topic of what we actually do! - Weekly anti-communist marches and meetings. - Suppressing communist and socialist movements. - Protecting law enforcement, politicians and business owners from these so called "executions" - Breaking up large gatherings of socialists and communists. Join us: If you are interested in joining the BDTR movement, you can apply via the forum link listed below! as we previously stated, the BDTR movement is not a full time commitment and we are fully in support of you being apart of another organization or having a job! we are also highly interested in partnering with business and other organizations who also share our beliefs and support our movement. We understand people are busy and people are different so the requirements listed below are more guidelines, just by joining our organization you are supporting us! Requirements: - 18+ Preferred. - Have a mic. - Have discord. - Ability to march & attend a meeting once a week. - Ability to pay 5$ a week towards the organization. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1SGsC3P1Ge_y_iwwwl88uQ0z7y55NCS3bHkh5dQOaSy4 Other info: The 5$/ week goes towards paying our headquarters rent, buying equipment and transport for our members! 100% of income will go back into the organization! We will sell T-shirts and flags if you would like to support our organization without joining. Any questions leave them below, cheers!

1 pointHey Identity community! So i pledged for like 1,5 - 2 years ago, still as excited now as then Looking forward to the release!

1 pointI don't know if it's a priority but since there will be hunting in the game, I would like to have hunting trophies for my collecting/trophy room. I would like to have a deer head on the wall with... I don't know a bear skin rug all that jazz. - Maybe even other trophies other than hunting. Chess Tournament, Paintball, Shooting, the list goes on - I would like a thing where we could put flags in our room(B.D.T.R. represent), and be able to put like cuts or jerseys in frames aswell to add onto it.
-
1 pointI kind of agree with you. From the communism not working thing onwards. Everything before that is unnecessary. Why are you two even debating this? Get over it. You have different views, so be it. If you cant debate in a kind and respectful manner, don't debate at all IMO
-
1 pointwell it must feel pretty shit when every action you make is hypocritical to your beliefs. You seem to find a way to state that you are a future professor in every post you make, newsflash; nobody cares! Please inform me of when one of my fellow leaders said "communists desire to kill working class citizens" because I know for a fact that that was not said, perhaps you read a message wrong? Your whole organization is a joke, name me one example in history when communism or socialism in its purest form ever worked. It has nothing to do with the nightclub, I just find it amusing that a communist is setting up an establishment that will directly benefit from capitalism.

1 pointHey, nice idea! I can imagine it now - "Subway Investigation Services". I'll be sure to dress like this - Thanks for the idea!

1 point? CYBER ? - Today at 21:23 remember that "testing" doesn't mean "hey i'll launch it and see if it looks pretty! herpa derp" testing = launching, assessing, trying to break under stress test, load balancing, quality assurance, maintenance AND if you found a bug, you gotta FIX IT, and then redo all that testing because a fix can spawn another bug. so just because the tracker LOOKS idle, doesn't mean that we have been. my 2cents from my side..

1 pointWhat happens when someone comes to you for information and you don't have any information on that particular group? And when you do start leaking information over companies etc... players instinctively won't trust you because you're constantly sharing information that players want to be kept private. You may be better off advertising yourself as a Private Investigator rather than a provider of information. That way information you track down can be presented, if you can't track any information down, you're still paid for the time invested into it. You'll just need to expand your network early on to get "informants" or sources of information.
-
1 pointThis is how I see it with regards to content... development takes time, testing takes even longer. Once TS gets released, it isn't going to contain any features that'll keep players occupied longer than a week because it's not a demo or full beta, it's a part of the beta. As far as I see it though, regardless of when TS comes out, if players log in to the TS module and run around, they shouldn't be entitled to the refunds anymore, as they've played the game and used the beta access feature. It isn't a "test-drive" in the end of the day...

1 pointI'm thinking of running my own little supermarket, or just a store. Something small but very important too everyone who is around

1 pointIdeally once the first Module is released the other Modules will have a big template to go off. I understand everyone's point of it being delayed and of course i do respect the opinions. 'Early Access' obviously is something that we all know is becoming a major problem, game being unfinished, sloppy starts or just slower updates once the release. In my opinion yes they could have released the TS on time but would it be at a cost? Would the game be buggy as hell, would the optimisation be stable?. Would there be enough content to keep players occupied whilst updates are being distributed out? If they are released the TS on time, i personally think they would have ended in a worse position than pushing the early access back. People are not going to play a game that has no content or is unplayable. They are going to complain that this is all they received for all the money they backed into the game. After this i am hoping the game is to be released within a few weeks. Once the tracker is completed then we wait 1 week for steam to verify the game. Thanks

1 pointWow someone that's waited this long and is still patient for the game.... that's new... Anyways welcome, Jankristiane.

1 pointI would just like them to stop updating the tracker every day without any change. I understand they wish to let us know it's up to date ... but if nothing changes, without further comments on why, why bother? Just leave it be for a few days (weeks?) until Asylum actually makes actual and viable progress. It's frustrating to refresh that page (opened tab) ever single day (night, in my case) to see it's up to date, but unchanged. To see the same three (3) tasks stay unchanged for the last week (or so?) is frustrating ... and that's saying it in a friendly way. It may be larger tasks, it might be just the one or two people (who'll say, the devs don't ... or the community manager is kept out of the loop, or is not allowed to say) working on those lasts few tasks, but WE, the people, the community DO NOT know. We're being kept in the dark. A task tracker is big BS in this case. It's as transparent as a cubic of reinforced concrete is. Look, I "pledged" $250, and that was in 2017, I have nothing to say, apparently, but even I'm getting annoyed about the lack of communication. Sure, we have @Beach_Ballnow as community manager, and he answers random/standard questions, the questions any seasoned forum member could answer. But the "real" questions? We never get answer to those. And I see many of them pass by ... here on the forums, on Discord, and even on the useless live streams. Questions, REAL and concerning questions ... they stay unanswered. We might as well do without a community manager then. @LuckyDuck was doing just fine answering the questions in the same generic way BeachBall is now. It feels like I pledged $250 towards paid staff who doesn't add anything extra towards the community. I'm not casting a stone towards that person, in person, but I'm just stating you've added him to your staff ages ago now, yet he does not (or is not allowed to) do what he was intended for: communication. All we get is answers we've already heard or have been able to read on the forums or the FAQs. So either allow him (and inform him) to answers questions seriously, or just let it be. Keep us in the dark. Keep saying "soon" while the years slowly pass by, but don't waste my money on staff you restrict as devs, the way you've been doing so far. I'm not asking for a daily or weekly dev blog, but FFS, keep us in the loop. Whether we pledged $10 or $1000, which is a plegde/gift, but ffs, KEEP US IN THE LOOP. March 21st (your official date), April 23st ... then a tracker, which stopped updating recently ... be bloody honest and REAL. We're not all 14 year olds who've borrowed our parents credit cards ... but stay credible. And Asylum is losing its credibility. I believed, and somewhere deep inside I hope I still do. But this is getting ridiculous. The delays are one thing ... the lack of communication, REAL communication is another. We're this close *makes gesture with fingers*, yet I'm temped to ask for a refund. If the TS takes this much BS to create, I'm worried about the other modules, the beta, and the full game. I'm 32 now, and I wonder if I'll have grey hairs, or a grey beard by the time Identity comes out. I wouldn't know in any case, the lack of proper communication and all. ↑ The honest concerns of a genuine, patient pledger. ↑ Edit: typos and such.

1 pointThe Developer Cyber's explanation on what "In Testing" means on the tracker. The 3D artists are working on assets because the last 3 things in testing are programming things and so the artists can't help on that part of the tasks.

1 pointHey look it's the moron who comes on the forums every 6 months to bother us. Still a nobody I see. How's the neighborhood going? Wait, your lack of activity and dedication led to it collapsing? That's too bad. Get a life and stop obsessing over my family and I. Get a hold of yourself and get over it.

1 pointAnd now realize only 2 "set in stone dates" was given... so technically u miss 100% of time. And what now? U will never give us any date? This bollocks have to stop. How long u want to repeat over and over again "delay can happen" and "development takes time"? Give us finally real info. Whats the plan for TS, which features going to be available now, which later? When u planing to complete core gameplay in TS? Any plans on next module? Its time to take it seriously like any other company, plan everything and start delivering things u promise years ago instead of hiding and avoiding important questions. People's want to finally know whats happening and vogue task tracker not gonna solve it.

1 pointHairy and Lucky will never speak with you from an objective stand point whether you're right or wrong, it will almost always circle back to, "Well I'm a moderator so shut up now" An 'expected' release of Summer 2017, now nearly 2019, with virtually no hope for a module before then, with almost half the content we were promised it would have over 2 years ago. Whether the developers will admit it or not, the devspeak and "talk but don't show gameplay" videos is because they need more money to flow in from purchases so they can actually get this content done because the budget and requirements were so far over their head that they aren't willing to sit down with us and admit that they fucked up. Like I said, I'm totally an advocate for this game. But you have to be careful when moderators have basically become full-time damage control, now it's all about "give them time they don't want to mess up!", when they mess it up it will be, "give them time the game just came out!". There's no responsibility on the companies anymore to do anything at all. Missing one date, that happens. Missing a couple dates, yeah okay that happens. Missing lots of dates by a period of time longer than a year, hmm okay something's going on here. Game launches with a million unplayable bugs and content that doesn't even look half as polished as it did in youtube videos 2 years ago? That becomes our fault for not seeing the signs. Welcome to the new generation of game development.

1 pointThey never said the Barber and Tattoo shop would be there on release of the TS. Even if it was said, things change over time, that's game development for you.
-
1 pointFull agreement. I've been saying this stuff for awhile now - as a fellow indie developer, I think dev to playerbase communication is imperative! Organization is important as well. Consistency. And transparency.
-
1 point1. That’s exactly the problem. Discord, Twitch, YouTube, Forums, Announcemens... so many ways and different places to track certain goings-on which should never be the case. Information should be readily available and be broadcast centrally from the original website of any project. It’s all good and well saying the information and progress is out there... as far as I’m concerned it isn’t, because there hasn’t been an official announcement by Asylum for three months. It’s an extremely poor communication structure, and it needs addressing. 2. It’s not your job to be a messenger as a moderator of forums. Your job is to keep the forums clear of garbage. The fact you have to relay on so much information as a moderator should be confirming point 1. to you even more... the simple truth is, they need to be putting out weekly announcements about progress, linking content like the twitch streams or YouTube uploads, advising on progress and setbacks, stating what future development plans are and engaging with the community.

1 pointHasn't changed visually in 1 week**** Another way to have a question answered is going on the discord and asking Beach_Ball. I answered and corrected some of the things you pointed out. I don't have answers to everything as I know as much as you on some things. I have also conveyed over certain points another member gave/ suggested which are the same as yours. I too would love more info, but also I can't answer everything as you can see because I am a Moderator and can only tell you what I get told. I can only say, if I get answers for anything then I can give you some answers but until then, I will answer what i can to help. I read and understood everything on your post and yes, Beach_Ball already gave the answer that we are waiting on the Payment Provider for theirs side of things in which they have a few problems to deal with causing the delay for everyone. That is the truth and well if you choose to believe it or not is down to you.

1 pointI think this post is honest and constructive. I don't understand why you have to be either a die hard fan who doesn't question anything (PRESTON_BODHI_343) or think everything is a scam (Eschaton). It is more than acceptable to question the development direction they have taken here, as well as their lack of community engagement, especially when they talk about community as something they value. Now, I have backed this project, and I am eagerly awaiting TS just like everyone else. But at the same time, I am also unhappy with the way they have handled information and communicating what is going on so that their backers, customers, and future playerbase have a somewhat better understanding. ESPECIALLY given their poor track record. So both sides are wrong. It is perfectly reasonable to question what the heck is going on here, but calling it a scam is irritating too. We are still seeing stuff, but honestly, not enough. Also FYI, you wouldn't have one of your developers write articles each week, to your point, that wouldn't make sense when there is clearly a lot of work for them to do. BUT you could very well delegate that task to someone who is not developing. Or hire someone specifically to engage your community and such. Come on, thats pretty basic.
-
1 pointThe missing arms and legs was a product of using our development client and isn't a bug to fix. The cafe isn't planned to open at release, nor is the tattoo shop. They'll be shortly after. We've shown the apartments in depth, so that wasn't a focus. You can find that video on YouTube. As for the combat video we showed, keep in mind that we're developing Identity in full. Some core features aren't in the Town Square, and it's not usually the same people working on those areas. You'll notice that area had less polish than the soon-to-be-released Town Square because it had less focus at this time

0 pointsThe past months here at the studio have been hectic, but our labors are paying off. It is with regret that I must make the decision to push back the public release of the Town Square module from April 23; however, the delay will be quite minor. Because this is now the second delay to an official firm release date, and because we expect this delay to be short-lived, we are as of this announcement releasing the Asylum Task Tracker. The new task tracker, visible on the Town Square section of the official website (here's a link for you), offers the Identity community and fans absolute transparency in our development progress. You can now see the tasks we have to complete before we're ready for the module to be publicly available. It will be updated each and every day. The list is not long, and displays all tasks since the tracker was created only a day ago. When all of the tasks are completed, of which none are major, Town Square will be released on Steam and available for play. Furthermore, the new Identity website is on schedule for a release just next week! The new website will come with all sorts of cool new features and we'll be building on it constantly as we move forward, too. With the release of the new website, I'm also going to begin regular Identity Insider releases. These Insider publications will add a ton of very detailed information on key systems within Identity. Delays are unfortunately a reality of all game development, whether a game is being produced by a large studio with hundreds of developers or a small team, such as ours, with only dozens. We faced unforeseeable technical issues recently; however, all of the issues we had have been fully resolved and, as you can see with the new tracker, release is extremely close. As soon as we get some final bits of art in place, we're going to compile a Town Square trailer video and begin showing off the game and environments on our development streams. So to sum it all up, keep an eye on the new tracker (see that link above) and follow our progress. The tracker will be updated once per day as it has to be done manually. Once we get our production software updated so that it can be automated, it'll be a live display. I also want to say that you to our loyal community and fan-base. Delays are never a fun thing to experience with any game, so everyone here in the studio is working overtime like crazy to get you into our world. You'll be in the Town Square very soon and this is going to make the game a much better experience. I'm really excited for our first module release as it's shaping up to be a really fun and beautiful experience. In fact, the Town Square is much more than I even though it would have been early on; I'm extremely happy with what we've put together. I hope you enjoy the peak behind the scenes with the new task tracker and we'll be seeing you in the square soon!
