9 pointsSalutations everyone, We're planning to show off some more gameplay tomorrow, so I'd like to give you all another quick heads up as to what you can expect. Firstly, we'll begin streaming with an artist at the usual time of 4PM ET. We currently have Jade scheduled for tomorrow, and you'll be able to catch us live at https://www.twitch.tv/identityrpg. Near the end of the stream, we'll hand it over to John and he'll be able to show us more of Town Square. While the amount of content he can highlight is dependent on how far along the programmers are, the plan is to cover most or all of the things he mentioned he'd like to show in the previous Developer Blog (with a few extras). To begin, he'd like to walk around the environment at night, and show off more interiors of the surrounding buildings. I've reminded John to have motion blur turned off, and to try out 1st person mode at some point. Users have been requesting that they see the animations that correspond to Mark's Emote Icons, so I also asked him to play one or two of his favorite animations. John also plans to walk us through a bit of the karaoke functionality while in "streamer mode", an option that prevents licensed music from playing on the client's end. He wants to show how a user can load up a song, where the lyrics will be displayed, and how the microphone functions. (He's trying to get either Motown or I to demonstrate such functionality... Not sure if I want to embarrass myself by demonstrating how abysmal my singing voice really is.) The inventory system should also be working correctly now, so we'll be able to interact with the newspaper and weed this time around. There may also be more features showcased than what is mentioned above, time permitting. We're aiming to wrap everything up by 5PM ET. (The previous stream admittedly ran rather late, so it's possible we may end up carrying over into the next hour. We'll see.) The VOD will also be archived like last time for those who cannot attend the livestream. That's it for now. Have a great rest of your day everyone, see you tomorrow!

2 pointsHi @VENDRI1! If you buy the 30$ version you get access to the modules and no, the game is not in beta version. The testing will be divided through 3 modules before releasing and the first module is currently in delevopment (Town Square)
-
2 pointsThe game has 3 modules, imagine like playing a game in early acces, after those 3 modules there will be a beta and after the beta the game is going to release. The first module of the game is going to release soon, you will be able to play the 3 modules when they come out if you pledge for the $30 package. You can visit this link https://www.identityrpg.com/info/modules/townsquare/#tracker to see the tracker for the release of the first module.

2 points1. The devs want to eventually add in diseases. 2. If your character dies, you will be unconcious for a short time until the paramedic arrives. If they don't get to you and revive you on time then you will respawn at your last bind location. You will lose things like Money and guns etc. which are on your character at the time. You can't lose the clothing or your in game phone though.
-
2 points1. You will be able to get a private server at full game release. 2. What do you mean by this? 3. Anyone can have a private server, as you will have to rent them from Asylum. 4. It will be very easy to do, there will be a control panel once you have rented a server that you can go on and customise the server with the settings/ options available on that CPanel. 5. If you rent your own private server, you can control the language what players are expected to use. e.g. a rule for it. 6. You will have to rent a server from Asylum Entertainment. Hope this helps. Regards, LuckyDuck Moderator
-
2 pointsI don't plan on spending much time on TS Module, only to check out what the foundation of the game looks like. However as the game becomes more and more updated I plan on participating more an more, specifically when Module two is released.

1 pointFAQ (Publish Questions You Want Below!) Everyone has had questions about the police department, so I'm here to make an FAQ from information from the developers, and also plain simple answers. (Not all information is guaranteed to be correct and any developer/staff member can leave a comment stating anything different to what I have said.) 1. Can I be [This Rank]? Answer: I have already discussed this with Motown and it is clear that on your own private servers that yes, you are able to choose who is which rank, however on the official servers. Motown has said that it is unlikely in the first place that there will be a police chief (On steam). And he has also told me that even if there is It will be a staff member or a developer. Other Points: Points above confirmed, however, it is not clear to me yet whether there will be a ranking system at all, or whether it will depend on time played on the server etc. 2. Is there going to be an age limit for the police department? Answer: It is very unlikely that there will be an age limit as they do not want to restrict players to what they can do in-game, also players do not want to be hyped up for police department and then not be able to become a police officer. Other Points: Confirmed 3. What are the amounts for the citations going to be? Answer: It is likely that the ticket/citation prices will be preset as this will stop the few 1 or 2 trolls who want to try and ticket someone $99999 for not stopping at a stop sign. But there will probably be different prices for each type of ticket, for example, a different price from Reckless Driving to Speeding. Other Points: Confirmed 4. Will there be trials/courtrooms? Answer: From what I've heard, yes. There will be courtrooms and trials, so there is a possibility that there will indeed be bail. However that is not confirmed, although I think this would be a good idea since not that many people with have money at the start so it won't be like every single person gets bailed. Other Points: Read below Warning: Motown has now confirmed with me that there will be NO bail. The below is a quote from Motown about the jailing system: "When you are sent to prison, you can request a trial if your prison sentence is over 15 minutes. If your trail is accepted, you can plead your case or have your selected lawyer plead your case for you, in front of a row or player jurors. After your time is up to plead your case, they vote guilty or not guilty. There is no player judge. If voted Not guilty, you get set free, and if voted guilty, you get sent back to the prison yard" 5. Will there be sub-divisions (SWAT, Aviation, K9 etc)? Answer: Well we already know that SWAT will be a thing due to the module being shown here. However, we have not been told about K9, Aviation etc yet. I believe that they will not be a thing until the servers are up and running with a strong police system first. As we do not want 10 K9 officers and 2 officers on duty, with 9 dogs running around. And helicopters will probably not be needed at the start. As well as this the developers need to focus on the original police system and the SWAT module before they do anything else. Other Points: There might be different skins for different parts of the map, but this is also unlikely as the whole map will probably just be one police force. Read Below Warning: Motown has now confirmed that they will be looking into K9 someday, but aircraft will not be a thing, even for the police. This is a quote from Motown below: "We'd like to do a K9 unit someday, but for now when or if we ever add animals that can follow the player outside in the open world rather than just apartments/houses. There also will not be any aircraft in Identity, even for police." Motown has also said below the following: "There will be SWAT and detective divisions for the police force, with a limited number of consecutive spots. If Too many SWAT or detectives, or not enough regular cops are online, then the slots are limited" 6. What will the maximum sentence time be? Answer: The maximum sentence time has "For now" been confirmed to be 45 minutes. Although due to them stating it's only, for now, this may change in the future. Other points: Confirmed by a developer, also obviously not every single sentence will be 45 minutes long. It depends on the time. 7. Can an off-duty officer help out another on-duty officer? Answer: A moderator states that there is no way to help unless other officers are in uniform. (On both public and private servers) Other points: A developer also stated that they want there to be a very clear difference between civilians and officers. By Scotty THIS WILL BE UPDATED BELOW!!!!

1 pointGreetings everyone! The Twitch VOD of John showcasing character creation and the Town Square has been uploaded to the Identity YouTube!
-
1 pointThe past months here at the studio have been hectic, but our labors are paying off. It is with regret that I must make the decision to push back the public release of the Town Square module from April 23; however, the delay will be quite minor. Because this is now the second delay to an official firm release date, and because we expect this delay to be short-lived, we are as of this announcement releasing the Asylum Task Tracker. The new task tracker, visible on the Town Square section of the official website (here's a link for you), offers the Identity community and fans absolute transparency in our development progress. You can now see the tasks we have to complete before we're ready for the module to be publicly available. It will be updated each and every day. The list is not long, and displays all tasks since the tracker was created only a day ago. When all of the tasks are completed, of which none are major, Town Square will be released on Steam and available for play. Furthermore, the new Identity website is on schedule for a release just next week! The new website will come with all sorts of cool new features and we'll be building on it constantly as we move forward, too. With the release of the new website, I'm also going to begin regular Identity Insider releases. These Insider publications will add a ton of very detailed information on key systems within Identity. Delays are unfortunately a reality of all game development, whether a game is being produced by a large studio with hundreds of developers or a small team, such as ours, with only dozens. We faced unforeseeable technical issues recently; however, all of the issues we had have been fully resolved and, as you can see with the new tracker, release is extremely close. As soon as we get some final bits of art in place, we're going to compile a Town Square trailer video and begin showing off the game and environments on our development streams. So to sum it all up, keep an eye on the new tracker (see that link above) and follow our progress. The tracker will be updated once per day as it has to be done manually. Once we get our production software updated so that it can be automated, it'll be a live display. I also want to say that you to our loyal community and fan-base. Delays are never a fun thing to experience with any game, so everyone here in the studio is working overtime like crazy to get you into our world. You'll be in the Town Square very soon and this is going to make the game a much better experience. I'm really excited for our first module release as it's shaping up to be a really fun and beautiful experience. In fact, the Town Square is much more than I even though it would have been early on; I'm extremely happy with what we've put together. I hope you enjoy the peak behind the scenes with the new task tracker and we'll be seeing you in the square soon!

1 pointWe at Asylum Entertainment are very excited to tell you, our community, how you will be able to get into the game sooner than you think! Identity's modules are small portions of Identity which will be released before Identity is ready for the world. This lets you experience part of the game months sooner than otherwise possible. The first module you'll be getting your hands on is a social environment which we've called Town Square. The Town Square will include all major social components, and will allow you to finally create and customize your characters. You can meet hundreds of new people and explore several cool features of the peaceful city life. For more details on Town Square, check out the modules page on the Identity website. Following the release of Town Square you'll experience SWAT player versus player action and eventually vehicle races of all sorts. We'll be bringing you more information on the modules as they progress!

1 pointI want to start by saying the following. This game is going to be a revolutionary addition to the MMORPG genre that we have not seen before. Something we all hoped for when GTA Online came out but better. For once, a small studio is going to do what AAA studios would never dare to undertake. Instead AAA studios would rather make games with micro transactions to drain as much money as they can from gamers (points at Rockstar). I wouldn't be against micro transactions if those developers had delivered on something worth the extra purchases. Indeed it was different but not innovative to the level Idenity is doing. The Town Square is set to release soon. I cant comment on the exact date as i do not represent or am affiliated with Asylum Entertainment. I have remembered their first mod in ARMA 3. I have seen the very vision they are creating And let me tell you, building a game from the ground up will allow the developers to do some amazing innovative things. We are clearly witnessing the dedication they have shown in bringing their vision to life. Trust me. This game is going to be something we will remember for years to come. All i ask as a member of the community and a spectator is for all of us to show some patience. Be Patient and you will see what i have seen. Coming Soon when they release the Town Square. I understand that their are some growing pains as it is a small studio. However, they are getting bigger and have all the talent to make a great game. Be aware that all the delays in the past and perhaps future ones to come; are to ensure that they keep a level of quality that can only be appreciated and respected. That is all for now. I hope to see you all soon when the Town Square gets released. Message to the developing team: I know the pressures you are facing. I understand that the impatience of the community can add pressure and stress but i can only advise to take your time in the developing process. We the dedicated fans are here to support the vision and stand firm in support to the developing team. Much love - A fan

1 pointHey, this thing has been suggested before, I cannot remember the answer that was given. However, IMO people will take the mick out of disabled people and this for one is not nice/ not wanted in the game. There will be a lot who wouldn't but there still will be the ones who do. I will get the answer we have had for this though. (PS: Will edit with answer)

1 pointno sir, the first module is in development. You can see here how far they come. Follow the link: http://www.identityrpg.com/info/modules/townsquare/

1 pointI actually laughed out loud reading this... Do you not realize the only reason you have the ability to shitpost your leftist propaganda onto the forums and even play the game in the first place is because of the capitalist system, communism ensures everyone is equal alright; an equally shit and poor standard of life...

1 pointSorry mate, I don't buy it. Town square isn't the full game, the 'glory days' are a long way off yet, town square is going to be boring with very little to do. Unless you're a chess fanatic or something, don't jump the gun because it's really not going to be an exciting experience after an hour or 2.

1 pointI don't see why people have to complain. I know 30$ might seem like a lot of money to some people. The thing is if this game at the slimmest chance is a scam because it isn't then you only lose 30$ if you donated more but want to complain that's a you problem and no one wants to hear it. For the active ones on the forum we see this stuff a lot if not every time we attempt to browse the forums. Can people like this stop posting stuff and get a forum suspension? Cause i'm sick of these posts its obnoxious.
-
1 pointJesus what is it with people being whiny little weiners? I'm going to straight up tell you to either quit being a little bitch or go get a refund because you're a little bitch. Funny how it's always the same formula, some whining asshat wants to complain about something that's got 1000+ posts where people complain about the same things everyday ?? If people really have a massive problem then walk away it's not hard, but alas they'll use the same line of " but I want this game to succeed" well if you want it to succeed then shut the f**k up and stop giving us ear ache

1 pointWe were all just taking breaks and watching TV, but after reading this post you've set us straight! Thank you for getting the team back on track.

1 pointA visual feast! As we approach the release of the Town Square, it's time to start showing off! Identity's gameplay is unique; there's no game in the world which accomplishes what we've set out to create and as a result, this will be one of the most immersive gaming experiences available. In some senses, graphics weigh heavily on environmental immersion and we've really started to show Identity's beauty in this last week. Last week, we did a short live stream on Twitch to show off the Town Square in motion. If you weren't there for the stream, check out the details below. Ash Hill Cinema ticket booth In addition to Identity's artistic beauty, we also want to show you what the base gameplay will be like in the Town Square. We do plan on doing another stream shortly where we'll move on into the interiors and interact with some of the features you'll find when you log into the Town Square. We'll have to mute the karaoke and streaming radio elements for Twitch and YouTube, though. I really do wish we had more time in our last stream but we were an hour late getting the stream started and what was meant to be a 10 minute display ended up being half an hour long. Half of that time was spent in character creation, so if that's of any interest to you be sure to check out the stream. I'll leave the video below. Ash Hill's Town Square in early morning Ash Hill's Town Square at night With our next gameplay stream, I'd really like to show off the Town Square at night. Check out the screenshot above to see why I feel that night in Identity has an incredible atmosphere. Night will be useful in Identity too; for example, some animals will be more active when the sun goes down. Just imagine running from (or with) the cops in the dark of night! A beautiful and well-designed environment makes great gameplay even better. Ash Hill's fruit and vegetable market As you can tell by now, I went a bit overboard taking screenshots of the Town Square environment. I'm so proud with what our art team has accomplished, so you're getting a handfull with this developer blog! The market seen here is in the Town Square, although it won't be the only food market in Ash Hill. Markets play a fairly important role, and not only for your own access to food. Gathering and growing food will be a safe and reliable way to make some money in Identity. It doesn't require any sort of investment, so it's one of your options for making a living the moment you step foot in the world. It will get much easier with a vehicle, though. RIDE bicycle shop The screenshot above is from the interior of the bicycle store you'll find in the Town Square. You won't be able to buy them right away, but once we start implementing our final vehicles we'll likely unlock the bikes in the Town Square, too. Bicycles will be an important tool in Identity. If you can't afford a vehicle (they're not cheap) then they're your best option for getting around town without dishing out cash for a cab. Ash Hill Tattoo interior My final screenshot today was the interior of the tattoo shop you'll find in the center of Ash Hill, and thus the Town Square. Hidden in the back of the parking lot behind the DMV, this parlor will be opening shortly after the Town Square release. Tattoos in Identity are either paid for or earned; some tattoos are only unlocked with achivements, most of which being for less than legal actions. Tattoos aren't available during character creation and must be gotten through a shop such as this. Town Square gameplay live stream YouTube Town Square preview stream If you missed our live stream of Town Square gameplay last week, click on that big image above to check it out now. If your email client is afraid and you don't see the images, you can always click here. I spent the first while creating a character and then took a quick look around the exterior of the Town Square environment. I can't wait to show more! The tasks at hand Our new task tracker has been one of the most well received additions we've ever released, and it's very easy to see why. As the Asylum developers continue to knock out tasks daily, we're getting very, very close to allowing you all into the Town Square. As of my writing this, only 3 primary tasks remain and are already in progress. The tracker is showing only Town Square tasks, although many of those in our team (who don't have anything left for the Town Square release) are already hard at work producing SWAT module content. It won't be long before you start seeing a lot of our SWAT efforts appearing, and I'm extremely excited to give you more information on how it'll play. Keep your eyes on the tracker, as it will continue (even after Town Square release) to be the best indicator of when you can get your taste. A quick thank you to our supporters We've been working hard to create the game that can, quite seriously, affect the entire MMORPG industry. Nothing like Identity has been done before, mostly because a game of this scale is a risky project for any established studio. It is because of you receiving this update, our pledgers and supporters, that our dreams and ambitions are becoming a reality. The ultimate RPG is on the horizon, and I'm so very grateful to the wonderful community around me. Again, I just want to say thank you as I sincerely appreciate your support. You're helping to create a game which thousands, who don't even know we're here yet, will come to enjoy. You're here on the ground floor. The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday. We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. This is the best place to get to know the fine details Identity! -- John VanderZwet

1 pointYesterday afternoon, for another Identity Insider, we've released a video detailing the workings of player housing in Identity and what it has to offer at our present point in development. This gives you a good idea of the level of fidelity we're going for in all of our key systems, and more videos will follow as we continue. Housing was chosen for our first video as our initial focus in development is for features present in the upcoming Town Square module. If you haven't already seen the video, check it out above. Housing as you've seen in the video is an excellent place to hang out with friends, but it has a lot of good practical uses, too! First, housing is the primary storage location for items you've collected. Whether it's a bookshelf full of books, a gun-rack with wall-mounted guns, or a crate full of junk, it's sort of like a bank for tangible stuff. Housing is also valuable for moderate crafting, too. Some advanced recipes might require a factory, but a lot of stuff can be created at your home using special crafting tables. A hydroponics table can even be used to grow small-scale plants, legal or otherwise!

1 pointToday we publish the first Identity Insider update, bringing you detailed information about key systems in Identity. Our website has expanded with a small page detailing corporations and their classes, also available below: Corporations in Identity You've made a lot of cash working odd jobs, or maybe even the odd less-than-legal task; now that you've had a taste of success, it's time to forge an empire. Corporations will allow the successful with a little extra cash to become driving forces in Identity's dynamic economy. Corporations are organizations similar to, but separate from, gangs and other social structures. They have the added ability of owning assets and issuing work orders to their real-player employees. Some assets, such as the largest cargo trucks, are available only to corporations. Once formed, the corporation is assigned a telephone number for public contact and the director (owner) can build a logo using an in-game design tool. It's then time to hire a staff and get to work. Classes of Corporations Delivery Delivery corporations can buy large vehicles for big hauls, vehicles not available to the general public. While any player can deliver goods in vehicles such as vans, to get the big-bucks you'll need to join a corporation. Legal Let's face it, crimes happen and criminals are going to be arrested. They'll need someone on the outside to convince the jury that they did nothing wrong. This is where legal corporations come into play, and their services aren't always cheap. Transportation People need to get from point A to point B and they don't always have the means to do that themselves. Transportation corporations own special vehicle assets including taxis and more, helping those in need get where they need to be. Manufacturing From the shoes on your feet to the sofa under your seat, almost everything in Identity is built and crafted by other players. Manufacturing corporations give their employees access to a wider variety of constructables and resources, for a cut of the profits. Always Expanding As with most things in Identity, we at Asylum will constantly be expanding this system adding new classes of corporations and building on those already available. Identity's release is only the beginning. If you have any ideas for a well-suited corporation class, let us know on the forums.

0 pointsAhh a real shame I have to say but at least they've given clarification on it and considered it before deciding they didn't want to.
