According to developer, the prison system shall consist of a maximum sentence of fourty-five minutes. However, certain criminals shall possess the opportunity to request for a lawyer and/or jury in order to engage in a fair trial, which shall determine whether the suspect is either innocent or guilty. Unfortunately, such a system would be meaningless based on the following reasons: 1. Organizing the trial may take longer than fourty-five minutes. 2. Traveling to the trial may take longer than fourty-five minutes. 3. It would take at least thirty minutes to several hours for the defendant and accuser to disclose any valuable information to their respective lawyers in order for the case to be argued effectively. 4. The police department would be required to engage in an in-depth investigation in order to present information against the defendant 5. Arguing both perspectives within the courts shall take longer than fourty-five minutes. 6. It would take longer than fourty-five minutes for the jury to determine whether the defendant is innocent or guilty directly after reviewing the information with one another. 7. The defendant may prefer to undergo fourty-five minutes in prison than to spend several thousand dollars on a reputable and credible lawyer. 8. Both legal representatives would be expected to continuously review updated information on an hourly to daily basis. ------------------------- In conclusion, based on these premises, the current judicial and prison system is deemed to be pointless considering that it eliminates the aspect of role-play within the game. Why is it meaningless?: Since Identity is a ROLEPLAY-ORIENTED game, judicial trials should be heavily promoted in order to ensure that players are capable of truthfully experiencing the lifestyle of a judge, jury, lawyer, defendant, and accuser. In the process, it would increase the demand for well-skilled Lawyers that are expected to heavily assess the LEGISLATIVE (Politically-enacted laws) and JUDICIAL (Judge-enacted Laws) on a daily or weekly basis in order to ensure that one is familiarized with the Law. Thus, a few ALTERNATIVES must be formed in order to ENHANCE the role-play aspect of the game. ALTERNATIVES: 1. Heavily increase the time that an individual is expected to spend within prison for MAJOR offenses. I.E. Executing a Law enforcement officer should be altered to 1-2 hours. 2. Repeated offenders should receive a 2x longer sentence for committing the IDENTICAL offense within an X amount of time within Identity Island. I.E. 15 minutes the first time of committing theft, 30 minutes the second time of committing theft, one hour the third time of committing theft, and two hours the fourth time of committing theft. 3. Since prisons are intended to be extremely interactive and engaging, it would be 10x more interesting if inmates were to spend more time within prison in order to develop a "prison lifestyle" with other inmates. I.E. Prison riots, prison gangs, smuggling contraband into prison, visiting inmates within prison through a phone and a bullet-proof window, "court/yard time" activities such as basketball or weightlifting, and "prison-breaks". The "prison experience" seems meaningless when the maximum sentence shall only be "45 minutes". 4. Criminal offenses should produce a criminal record that is available to any employer that requests for such records by a Law enforcement officer, causing criminals to heavily rely on a well-trained lawyer in order to maintain a good-standing with the corporate world in the future. 5. It increases the NEED for investigative-related services within police departments and private-security companies in order to present their findings within court as a means towards determining whether a suspect is guilty or innocent. The list could be endless...

Jobs won't be available in the first module I've heard, and items for decorating will be free to purchase. As for 3 characters, maybe you want to stay criminal on one, rescue on one and LEO on another. Gives you all these possibilities without having to do something like you have to in Arma currently. I'll gladly look at your art and clothing down the line for Civ clothing. Pretty sure cops are going to be restricted to their tier(so to speak) clothing.

Meh as much as I do support the release of this game, when it comes to business model and how to run things, my favor fall to the side of Patrick68794. I also work in game dev field WITH a plan to use crowdfunding to propel us through the thick of it. And my team actually plans to have a playable demo for teaser content BEFORE the Kickstarter page ever goes up! It's all about good practices, no matter how big or small the team is. Transparency is everything. Developer to player trust is everything.

Greetings everyone! The Twitch VOD of John showcasing character creation and the Town Square has been uploaded to the Identity YouTube!

The time draws near! In the last dev blog I sent out, I mentioned that we were going to announce the release date for our first playable game module, the Town Square. Those of you who follow our Twitter and Twitch streams will have already learned this date. It's a very exciting and important time for Identity; we're fast approaching the time where you'll first step foot in Identity's grand world. We've crunched all the numbers and can now say with fair confidence that the Identity Town Square module will be released, to all backers with a $30 or higher pledge, on this coming March 21st. What will you find in the Town Square? The Town Square is a social game module. You'll be able to create your character, which may be transferable to the retail game after release, and meet hundreds of other Identity backers in the town square of the clean and quaint city of Ash Hill. You'll be able to talk to those around you, add them to your phone contacts and have full phone and IM support to stay in touch. You'll find a completely functional cinema playing full movies around the clock, a karaoke bar to show off your skills (or see me making a fool of myself), a working restaurant, art gallery, shops and more. The biggest single feature is the housing system. You're getting a taste of the full and complete player housing mechanics that you'll find in Identity. Everyone will have access to a tiny apartment, but those who pledged for higher rewards will be able to check out and decorate their larger spaces. It's a preview of what you'll have in the full game. Invite friends to your place and party it up! After the initial release of the module, we'll continue to add features to the Town Square as they are completed in development for Identity. Barbershops and tattoo parlors will let you customize your character further. A garage will let you sample your vehicles. You'll even get to test your ability with firearms in the police shooting range before the SWAT module is released. For me, one of the most exciting parts of Town Square is just to get inside the game and finally get a feel for Identity and how it plays. Check out a few of the Town Square work-in-progress shots we've released in the past. It's been a long road for the development team here at Asylum, but we're almost there! Flexing our new manpower Productivity has skyrocketed with our new office. We're working better and there are now many more of us knocking out code and assets each day. Our programming team has expanded with Charles and we're still hiring more. We've brought three new and incredibly talented 3D artists on board as well as a new technical artist. Brandon, our new Community Manager, has been hard at work keeping you in the loop. These guys are all proving their worth each day and I'm extremely excited about where Asylum is going. Looking to the future With some of our Town Square art wrapping up now, we're beginning to shift a bit of our focus to the second module: SWAT. The SWAT module will be a team vs team competitive shooter using the combat mechanics you'll find in the full Identity release. Expect combat to be slower and more realistic than most similar games. You'll learn much more about this module as work progresses. Above is an MP5 sub machinegun which will be used by the SWAT forces. This particular model was created from scratch in a matter of days by one of our new artists, Dan. The awesome talent of our art team is undeniable! -- John VanderZwet

Javascript HTML5 web applications would be pretty easy to support being loaded into the in-game web-browser and it's one of the most common / easy to pickup languages making it a perfect option for creating rich and fun new software apps that could be sold on an in-game App Store. This creates the opportunity for players with that kind of background to build out new features into the game that would otherwise take a long time for the dev team to get around to and also gives them a way to earn in game currency. Expansions - API to interact with other in game systems like the stock market, bank, shops, factories, phone GPS, security systems etc. - Live linking to real externally hosted (Approved) web applications further increasing immersion and crossing the bridge between in game and reality. Essentially I would think it'd be neat to have an in-game editor for building these, but lets face it, if people are allowed to create applications like this, most are going to use an external setup and just spit out a minified javascript bundle, copy the code and paste into the in game editor to spin up their web applications... which isn't a bad thing really as it saves the hassle of building a fancy IDE in game.

Someone asked early if they could customize their own jewelry, and it gave me an idea. So in order to make a watch, you would probably need to have mined some gold, or buy it from someone. I had an idea that if you have diamonds and a watch, when you go to a crafting menu you will be able to craft the watch into an "iced out", diamond variant of that jewelry. The diamonds could be mined for. I think this would be something cool to have in the game, because then people could own there own jewelry shops where they sell custom "iced out" watched and chains. Here are some picture examples of what I'm talking about: https://imgur.com/TFNwrHU https://imgur.com/r4sJiU6 Let me what you all think!

I am hoping to set up a chain of high end Jewellery and fashion stores in identity. Will there be the ability to design jewellery in the game?

  10. 1 point
Cool idea! There wont be an ability to design jewelry in Identity. But you can design your own clothing line.
  11. 1 point
Would be cool, but it's not going to happen.

I'm pretty hyped to see what they bring to the table. A Conan Exiles/Ark type game from a AAA studio? Yes please!
  13. 1 point
There is something like that yes. For example the news papers , if you start the game from day 1 and u get a newspaper you could keep this newspaper for always in your storage. 5 years later for example you will then have a "unique" newspaper from day 1

Yea I kinda agree. He’s a nice guy, but when I listen to him talk about Identity he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, like he Dosent really know much about the game. And the other day In his video some of the stuff he was saying was totally false.

You have plenty of time, You can build 100 by the time Town square releases.

I kinda agree with you here. The TS Im not planning to spend a lot of time on it as although there are things to do, all that can wait. Messing about with the apartment might be fun though. Streaming wise, that TS reveal was the only steam Ive seen and Ive seen enough to get the feel of graphics/movement etc. I dont need to see any more props, they too can wait. Thats not a criticism with regards to other people wanting to see more, its just I would rather see these things when the game is released so I am happy to sit on the sidelines and wait a bit. Im more excited to see the size of the game world and going exploring having a good look around, taking in the scenery.

Ok whatever lol, you obviously can't be reasoned with, I can very well compare those games to this one because I'm not using them in the context that you are. I'm comparing size, and the infinite rescources they have at their disposal, and STILL takes them YEARS to make a game a fraction of the scale Identity intends to be. Why does Rockstar need investors? They have plenty of money to do whatever they need to. In any case, let's say for arguments sake, that they do have investors...those investors will have invested in the thousands to hundred thousands or even more...to compare a tiny pledge, some of which aren't even a fraction of what this game should be priced at, is well you said it...extremely stupid... You know what else is extremely stupid...judging badly, someone else and what they are doing, because it's different than you would prefer or what you've experienced. You just keep on insulting people, and attacking people's integrity...If you aren't supporting the game...wtf are you doing here except to try and convince yourself of your superiority. Yea I need to go back to business classes...lol oh that's right I don't agree with the arrogant way you think so I must be a idiot...Listen to me Patrick Star, I am here supporting a game I want to be a reality...The only reason it wouldn't become reality...is chucklehead's like you trying to draw negative attention and judge how long it should take for someone making their first game, as big as it plans to be. You are an arrogant prick. It seems you can't really argue with a know it all that always has an answer... You talk a really good game hiding behind your computer screen...judging people from your ivory tower. If you were so god damn good and knew as much as you want people to believe, then you would be too busy going about your own life, to sit here and tear down a game you dont even think is gonna get made. Why don't you get lost I'm not giving you any more attention. I thought you might just be ignorant of how things actually work...but you are just delusional, or simply seeking attention. You know being the awesome software developer that you are, they started teaching your method in schools all over the country...self absorbed pompous ass

There will be no jobs in the Town Square module. Activities available to you include, karaoke bar when you can order food, sing, or go to the restroom, cinema to watch real movies and eat popcorn, cell phone to add friends in the game. Art gallery to display your paintings along with a library where you can write books, visit the bike shop and clothing store, play chess, hang out with other players in the square, and apartment customization! Please take a second to use the search function as a lot about the game has already been answered.

This is the American Mafia recruiting page The American Mafia is divided into six ranks Ranks Leader The leader will make some of the big decisions, and will perform the initiation for all new members. Also, he will choose who is in the other ranks. Co-Leader The Co-Leader will manage the jobs we perform. Examples of these are Bank heists, truck robberies, robberies, etc. Also, they'll be able to order hits on people, but he must get the hit authorized by the leader before doing so. Also, he'll make some big decisions also. Generals The Generals will give the Soldiers and sometimes the Recruits orders, and or tasks to perform to show their loyalty to the organization. The generals will also be given a special duty that’s specific to each individual one. These duties will be Production Manager, Security, and Head of Smuggling. Soldiers The Soldiers will train the recruits. An example of this is taking them to do daily mafia activities, a robbery, or maybe picking up a cash drop. Recruits The Recruits are the lowest rank within the mafia, they will be on a one week trial period. The trial period is when the soldiers will train the new recruits, weed out the rats, and execute those who are untrustworthy. Associates The Associates are people who don't want to join the mafia, but want to work with it. The associates will be our suppliers, delivery men, money launderers, etc. Rules No Stealing If you steal we'll know because we keep record of all of our assets. If you are caught stealing, we will have a ceremony where you will be executed/made an example in front of everyone in the mafia. Uniform The Uniform consists of a black suit, black dress shoes, a red undershirt(If compatible with suit),and a fedora(The fedora is optional). You MUST wear the uniform at all times, If you are seen not wearing the uniform you will be kicked out of the mafia. Cars/Vehicles All mafia vehicle's main color is black, and the windows are tinted as black as legally possible. Racism/Sexism We are fine with racist/sexist jokes, but if we feel you are truly racist or sexist you will be executed. Ranks If a person that is a higher rank than you gives you an order you must follow it or you will be executed. If you feel that the order was outrageous, then talk to the leader. You may be understood, and not executed. Initiation Process Recruitment If you wish to join the American Mafia, them PM me. Initiation Ceremony The initiation ceremony will only be performed once a week for those few Recruits that made it through training. The ceremony will not be performed for those who joined before the games release. The Future Future Goals We would like to eventually disguise ourselves as real-estate owners of nightclubs, hotels, etc. Ranking Up You can rank up by bringing in money and spending time with the mafia, you can rank up this way for all of the ranks. Also, you will be ranked up when the leader sees fit. Discord Message me for an Invite.

Saw the video from the stream - and I must ask, are (first) names really going to be unique? That will really limit things eventually, I feel. Also, to me it is rather strange that surnames will not be required. I feel we should have both and be able to share at least one of the names, since characters will be tied to accounts either way.

Looked fantastic, really glad to finally see it. I'd assume that the reason the Dev's ignored chat for the most part was to stop the stream getting derailed and sidetracked which IMO was probably purely necessary... I hope that the gameplay and future content quells some of the doubters and reassures anyone on the fence. The content looked incredible and detailed. The graffiti leak, in addition to all the other stuff, chess, movies, tattoos, etc for instance just highlights the level of attention the Dev's have and justifies the development time/delays IMO. Can't wait for release. Any chance you wanna give me Dev access in the meantime ?? Seriously outstanding work...

The "hotel apartment" is just the free housing everyone starts with so they have a place to call their own and mess around with the housing editor. While I am not sure they will be town square, there are other housing types such as the Studio Apartment, One Bedroom Apartment, Luxury One Bedroom Apartment, and Two Bedroom Apartment from the higher up packages.

I'm happy to see you guys enjoyed the stream. It was a lot of fun for us to finally show it off. To answer a couple of the concerns above, all of the buildings are enterable with full interiors. This had to be a short stream because we started an hour late and it was only supposed to be 10 minutes long to start. We'll show more! I do agree that the player animation needs more work. They're improved, but we're still working to replace the animations for the mid-speed jog. The slower walk and sprint are pretty good, I think. I'd also like to implement more interaction animations. We do actually have some done already that just need "plugged in." As for visibly carrying items, you're thinking of weapons. Weapons will be visible on your character and some items can also be held in your hands. There's no feasible way to show all items on your character, though.

Have you ever heard of Identity? A MMO RPG. It's called rp and based on real life. So if you've heard of such a game, well this is what it is. This isn't some GTA 5 rip off kid. This is roleplaying to the max. If you even have the slightest thought of what you said, than you best be packing your bags, because this game isn't all gangs and killing. Also, on a side note, you best be watching your back as you made enemies with the Morettiand BDE and their allies. I'm part of the BDE and so you better heed your own advice.

Everyone’s not gonna be on one server, you need to realize that. And everyone who’s in a gang won’t all be on at the same time.
  42. 1 point
I disagree with this. There’s so many different jobs and ways to make money in Identity, I think you’re over estimating on how many people wanna play as gang members. There shouldn’t be this much limitation and restriction on them.

Congratulations...would you like a medal...maybe we can crowdfund a statue for you...but then I'm sure you would complain it's taking too long, and you know so many other ppl that can make statues much faster, so on and so forth...Really the first time price of the game gets raised past early access? You must not know as much as you think you do...I say to stop tellin other people what they should be doing because of developer's that you know and games you've backed, and you just keep finding ways to puff out your chest, and make yourself sound superior...Yea you must be a really good developer...GTA cost $60 for how long? They didnt let anyone get moduls for it or early access...Same with RDR2 no early acess, it's taken that game 8 years and it still aint done, and it's still only life in ONE aspect not as much of an undertaking as Identity...But yea what ever you say bud...J ust because other developer's have done it the way you like, how do you tell someone else, they have to do it this way or it must BS...You have the freedom to take your development tyranny elsewhere and tell them how to make their game...Tell me what hobby games you develop so I can come there and spout about how your not doing it the way I've seen it done so your game must be a scam...Why do you people act like making some video's puts anything in stone about a game coming or not? Dude I'm not in the gaming industry except that I play games. But I have business education...and there are all different ways that people can go about developing a game especially when you aren't involved...thankfully. Ok now make sure to list anything else, so you can brag about knowing this developer, or have this career or this hobby, and that makes you the lord n master of all. You know everything about everything, and EVERY developer makes games the exact same way, all the time, forever and ever...and if they do anything other than how you deem, because this is how you do it, and have seen it done by 20-30 game developer's...Man i didn't realize that there have been only 2030 game developer's and they all make games the same exact way...whodathunkit I see plenty of games that have lots of a game to play, in early access since ive gotten on PC and all I see is people talking about it's buggy not optimized, it's isn't worth what they charge, get it on sale...the list goes on and on...When companies pay people to test their games...do those people complain that it isn't a finished game, tell other people not to invest in it, or buy it when it's cheaper? That's how it happens when games ask us to help test their game on PC...Have we forgotten Identity in scale is bigger than any game on the market right now? I would prefer as a actual pledger, that they don't take the man power and time to give us video's of gameplay which mean squat to me because anyone can make video's, or did Mr big shot software developer forget this glaringly obvious fact? No one has ever been scammed by watching a really convincing video...nope not once... I also don't quite see how a small developer company, is supposed to prove what their game can be, if they are in the process of making it from scratch...Imagine if Rockstar's very first game was GTA V and needed us to fund it? Identity plans to be much much bigger than gta by a long shot... The way you think it would never get made...I still say I am losing hope for PC gaming, to really distinguish itself from console, because of "gamer's" like you. I have done things too, and there are always many different ways that people choose to do them. Just cause someone asks for help doesnt mean you can tell them how they need to do it...If you don't like it you have the freedom to leave and not support it...You don't need to bring attention and try and convince others that you know what you're talking about and they must be doing something wrong... I really would love to know how the hell you think I don't have any clue what I'm talking about...I'm backing a game I pledged...I happen to know exactly what I'm talking about as I believe we dictate what games get made, people make You Tuber's massive and rich giving them money for video's, but make a game unlike anything else before it...and it's not worth even what GTA sells for? What the hell are you doing but puffing out your chest? Telling people they are idiot's...your a pompous ass...You talk a good game on the internet with your anonymity muscles... This is a forum for SUPPORTING THE GAME IDENTITY RPG...NOT for making posts whining they aren't doing it the Patrick Star approved way and UNsupporting it, then boasting about your credentials to put yourself up on a pedastal to lend some credit to what you say like it's gospel...I have faith that this is a great business opportunity for them and instead of doing a mod server for someone else's game...They can make some dough doing it or their own game. But they will need a lot of help to pull that off, you can either give it or dont but dont judge what they are doing because it's not what you would do or have seen...If you were developing it with them, then this is where'd you would walk away from the project because of creative differences... You don't have to be a damn rocket scientist to know how to pledge a game and that it's not mine to dictate how they go about it, unless I'm investing hundreds of thousadns of dollars...How much should this game cost to make, if it's bigger than GTA? they got 1.2 million so far, do we really wanna play what they have made so far with only that much invested so far? So I'm an actual investor and I'm saying they are doing it just right, as long as they get it done. I don't expect them to take my orders now that I've pledged...and they sure as hell shouldn't haveto from someone that isn't.

This 'hard man' just joined our Discord and declared war on us! Firstly he doesn't even know the first thing about us and our motives. Then he has the audacity to say that he will declare himself an enemy of any criminal organisation, and to that I wish him and his 'army' good luck. After asking him several times how many men he had, he refused to give me a number or even a range and instead said, "Enough", "you cant even count that high" and the most professional of all, "". The Yakuza aren't exactly the most admirable people in terms of fighting crime seeing that they're "members of transitional organised crime syndicates". Their own people call them "violent groups", so his idea of peace is at best delusional. I suggest that if he wants to take on the rather ambitious goal of calling himself the, 'Yakuza', that he does research into it first and find out who and what responsibilities he's taking on. Nevertheless his hyperaggressive entrance on our Discord made him the subject to jokes and laughter, of which, will not be forgotten!

There's a reason there isn't much gameplay released right now, we've answered this a lot on probably every social media outlet, but showing tons of gameplay doesn't get people as excited or pumped as it does when you're shown a little until you get to just experience it yourself.
