5 pointsSalutations everyone, I just wanted to give you all a quick heads up as to how Tuesday's stream will function. The current plan is to host a regular development stream for about 45 minutes, then give John (the CEO) a moment to stream some gameplay near the end. Both streams will take place in the usual spot: https://www.twitch.tv/identityrpg The goal is to give viewers a brief tour of Town Square after he creates a character to play as. While we won't show off too many features just yet (we need a few more programming + UI tasks to be completed in order to make some features look and operate properly), the prospect of seeing a character move within Town Square's environment is quite exciting. We know many have grown fatigued of seeing Art streams, so we hope that this will be a welcome change in atmosphere. If you can't tune in on Tuesday, don't worry. I'll make sure the VOD is preserved on YouTube, and I'll most certainly be recording highlights of the stream using Twitch's Clip feature. That's all for now! I hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend, see you next week!

2 pointsGTA is not a life simulator or even near to it really. It is more about the PVP than it is interactions. It's not a Real RPG. Just one of those games which game devs call a RPG. (My Opinion) like I agree with @Cstove

2 pointsSup Memphis. From what I understand you have to convert the RV into a lab rendering it useless after. (You cannot drive it) Anyway, I plan on hunting myself but for a little more than rabbits I hope.

2 pointsMost systems on gangs and the like are still in planning. Some links below, especially the Twitch Clips Directory, will provide boatloads of information.

2 points@AlconSystainLOL. There is supposedly blue smoke coming from the RVs being used for meth production. I may follow them, steal their RV and drive them into the lake instead. Letting the air out of their tires won't stop the meth production. :-)

2 points"The simplest reason is that, in game development, making an accurate schedule is impossible. Even the most conservative estimates at the beginning of a project can’t account for obstacles that will come up along the way. Sometimes a level that a game creator thought might take two weeks actually takes closer to two months." Quoted from Jason Schreier for a Kotaku article titled "Why Video Games are Delayed So Often". I recommend giving the article a read, especially the second to last paragraph.

1 pointHello Iam just curiouse if i will be able to shoot my gun inside of buildings. Like in hotels or houses of players. Also will there be 5 star hotels actually? Also what will happen if you die? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time to be revived in hospitel and also pay something?
-
1 pointI'm just curious as my PC is low-end at the moment and I may upgrade later in the year. Thanks!
-
1 pointWell theoretically, you could create a reaction for the player to pull out his gun on you but there is no mechanic and is really down to the opposed player. This sort of thing cannot be predicted because every player is different.... "No human is the same" For the court, you have to be arrested and the only way you can be arrested is if you have committed a crime. You need to argue your way out or get a good lawyer to argue your case for you. Hope this helps a bit.

1 pointGTA does not simulate real life, everyone drives around in tanks and armored vehicles, while they carry 20+ guns.

1 pointJust wondering how many of you got the higher than $15-30 package? "After All These Years" All what years, it's barely been 2 years, since they got out of Kickstarter...I reiterate...it took Rockstar how long to make GTA V Red Dead Redemption2? Did we get to play them early? Man you guys are making a lot of assumptions about how things, that you aren't doing, should be done. WTF is 1.2 millions dollars? Wtih a game of this scale...This game is literally like so many versions of GTA. GTa is just criminal life, this is so much more...How long did YOUR genre defining game take to make? I agree with how they've gone about certain things...but it's not ours to make dictations about how they should do things... So basically, you guys are saying that every game should be done the same way? We all have opinions on how things should've been done. Then again, we don't make games we play them, so how would you like them to tell you how to do your job. Seriously what the hell is 1.2 million gonna do? That was just to get started. You guys seem to forget they are doing things in this one game, that are literally many LONE simulator games! A game like this hasn't been done before so how long should that take exactly? Since building games is what you guys do, since you have all the answers, pull up a chair and offer those professional services since you can get it done faster. I am also sick of ppl complaining who threw in the least amount of "help". If you didnt pledge more than the cost of GTA, then I don't personally care what you think. This game should take YEARS to make. Yes, I would like to see more than a scripted gameplay trailer, be more kept in the loop for giving them $250 of my hard earned money. But as it's not my game, it's not mine to make those calls. SO I wait, jsut like everyone else. I have my gripes, and ideas of how things could be done better to keep us in the loop, and trust me I would love to not be the only one trying to cull the rampant doubters, and disbeliever's. I think its' actually kinda ignorant to think that a game this massive is gonna go anywhere with 1.2 million, and all the nay sayer's and doubters talking about what these Dev's aren't doing right. These companies like RockStar PAY ppl to test their games. We are paying them to test it and help support it, as they are not as established as RockStar, and couldn't make this without our help. That doesn't mean that we can demand they do things they way we see fit...

1 pointWhilst I am in no hurry and happy to wait I have to say that I have to agree with Dazerbake. The task bar is a good concept but it is pretty much pointless if all they are doing is adding to it. Its a false sense of progression. All they are doing is replacing old ones with new ones. I have patience to wait for the TS release and have no issues there, but I am beginning to wonder if it ever will be released. Its almost like we see the light at the end of the tunnel, then it goes again. With kickstarter projects I only ever pledge when I can afford to lose so if things dont work out I dont feel to bitter about it, but at the same time I dont like being taken for a fool. I hope this is not the case here. On a side note, I dont understand why we havent seen any actual gameplay yet. I know I know, they are meant to be showing it at some point but surely they have some. It seems a bit odd how we are meant to be so close to the module release and even from promoting the game stand point this would be of such a benefit. My faith is slowly dwindling and I am beginning to wonder about the whole thing. I hope I am wrong.

1 pointGame-development isn't instant, nor does it always go according to schedule. Asylum is working everyday for hours on end to get this out as fast as they can to make the community happy. This is simply part of game-development, and when, or if, you donated, you should have been aware that delays and/or new tasks being added is part of it.
-
1 pointwell, it's also time for a new dev blog within a week... If we get one at the beginning of the month, it might also announce another delay:p but that 's doomsdaythinking, let's not do that.

1 pointWow. So this game is not as realistic as i thought. How are basic things restricted? Makes no sence. I just wanna know how the police will get in then? They too cant get inside a fucking house?
-
1 pointI dont like it like that. I mean, why shouldnt you be able to shoot your gun in houses and hotels? Isnt it more realistic? I mean, enemy criminal gangs could just hide in their basement without being able to get attacked by the other gang. Whats about the police? Can they invade your house and get inside and shoot at you? It should be like irl, please try implementing these "in house action" things cuz gta did it wrong and you cant shoot anywhere inside a building which is just like not irl.

1 pointWhen I think scam, I'm imagining a person/people deliberately baiting others into giving them free money without intent to deliver. It's more probable that this game keeps getting snagged by a couple of things to make it in danger of reaching a thing we indie devs call Development Hell. Firstly, people need to realize that this project is ambitious beyond belief even for a seasoned developer. These types of games typically require a studio hundreds if not more devs working full-time to get done as quickly as the player base is demanding. Secondly, the budget funds raised for the game are nowhere near enough to sustain a team working full-time on this project. Which means unless they dipped into their own pockets to fund or found another source of funds, this project would have probably tilted more on the side of a Passion Project (working on a game in spare time for free/for the love of game dev itself). Thirdly, especially in an indie studio where the team is on the smaller side, life stuff happening chisels out dev times harder than in a team where there's plenty of people to cover if one or more people are out of commission for awhile. So my fear and hesitation for this game isn't so much that I think it is a scam (I personally do not believe it is - from a fellow indie game dev POV), but that it is a project that is highly susceptible to fall indefinitely into Development Hell at some point. Especially in the long run of things. MMO's are a pain to maintain and keep content fresh and updated. It's a neverending developed game, unlike offline games. ^^;; The only problem I have so far with this game (other than the extreme Dev Hell risk) is that there needs to be a touch more understanding on management: How to market/maintain their backer interest, prioritizing certain things, etc. for example the lack of communication by way of making gameplay videos and "pledge package" details, etc. NDA-type stuff is mandatory for large companies that fund their own games. It shouldn't be so hard to find organized pockets of info and gameplay videos and all that for a game that is crowdfunded. A.K.A. you can't create a crowdfund game and treat the marketing the same way a AAA-title game company will. I mean you CAN, but it's not really a nice thing to do.

1 pointDo you guys not grasp the concept of crowdfunded games...If they get the SUPPORT, key word SUPPORT, from their player base...That's US...lol they get made, if they don't then they don't. Unless they get outside help and usually give up some artistic freedom's. Why do i keep hearing ppl complain about how long it's taking...when how long it's taking is relevant to how much support it gets. I've said this before and I'll say it again, unfortunately scam developer's make it bad for good developer's, but PC gamer's ruin the games that can really distinguish PC gaming, they don't suffer from console games. They suffer from cheap and impatient gamer's. but this game is massive in it's scale. GTA is just life as a criminal. This is like so many simulator games in one game... How long should it take a very small developer team, dependent on funding from it's player base, to make? Since two years(if that) and ppl are ready to jump ship. How long did it take you to make your game that was this big? Look how many years it took them to make GTA with tons of employee's and a blank check. They charge $60 for just criminal life, plus the grind of GTA money required to buy the crazy over priced items...or you buy shark cards. Look how long it took the make Red Dead Redemption 2 it's been 8 YEARS! For a Criminal life in the old west...you guys need to be a lil more realistic...with ppl doubting it and pulling backing it won't get made...if they get the money why would they not want to make the game?! LMAO Look how big GTA is, if they do this right, this could be a game changer. I got money in this game, I jumped onto PC gaming because I wanted this game so bad. You aren't the only ones waiting...Show some patience & maturity instead of acting like spoiled children. If it was me making this game and I had ppl accusing our hard work as a scam, and my wanting to make sure we give ppl a great game that will live up to the potential, not worth their money because it's taking too long. I'd say here you go...don't let the door hit you on the way out and take your money & negativity with you. This is why I wouldn't make a good developer...but it's gotta be kinda hurtful and insulting to have the very people your trying to give a really awesome and new experience, tell you they don't trust you. Whine about your hard work being not worth the time you have to take to make something of the sheer scale AND to do it with limited resources and man power. Imagine if you wanted to make your dream game, and then it didn't get off the ground because of the skeptics that took money back or else where and cast doubt on your project. You think anyone who put in any fraction of money, compared to the blood sweat and tears, countless hours and money of your own that was poured in, could be more upset than you watching your dream game crumble around you. Only way this game won't come out it's cause PC gamer's don't get behind it enough. Granted a bit more transparency and game play would be appreciated. But you want them splicing videos together or making a game on a scale bigger than anything to date yet. I honestly didn't even like the game play footage as it seemed scripted and not natural...So maybe they stick with developer and get someone else to do the trailer's when(finger's crossed) they get far enough into development. I can only imagine what kind of game GTA wouldn't have been if it was funded from it's player base lol.

1 pointI used to work in a city where the minimum wage for any starting position in any job was $140, but once our previous leader was exiled and a new one was elected, our pay went down to just $40 which broke any hope of grabbing one of those 13 million dollar Porsches. Heed my warning, if you manage to make recent migrants have a hard time settling down in the city and bring in laws, which would bother the citizens, you're not going to be a great leader. Promises are empty, acts and proving your point is what wins.
-
0 pointsWill there be any cities or servers that are more social or is this basically going to be GTA where you get gunned down every 3 seconds? Is this meant to be a massive pvp in the city? I am considering the $500 founder pack but I just want to know what I am signing up for.... Awesome work. It is a beautiful architecture for a game!

0 pointsWelcome. I've gone for the "Upsized" package. Looking forward to meeting everyone and hunting a few rabbits, going to the movies and then letting all the air out of the tires of RVs being used for meth production. Meth is some bad stuff. Ruined the lives of 2 of my relatives that I know of.
