4 pointsThe devs started on the stream Thursday that they are sorting out an issue with the company that will handle the payment process information and is out of there control on how/ when the issue is resolved, the devshave no influence on when it will be done by the company and so they are waiting for that to happen before the new website is launched; however the new website is ready to go.

2 pointsSo where do you draw the line? So say someone pledged early 2017 and someone else pledged 3 months ago or even last week, is it fair they get the same rewards? You could argue well he's only pledged a week ago, he doesn't deserve anything because he's not been through what some of us have. Yes delays are annoying but so are self entitled people. You pledged, not bought. Even if they did release it early I bet the very same people would then be moaning that it's unplayable and full of bugs. If you wanted to buy, then wait for it's proper release when it's a full game.

1 pointAnnouncement I will no longer be updating this post because of full-time work. I simply don't have enough time to do it every morning. I know i said i would be updating this post daily but i just cant anymore. Thank you to everyone who has been positive in the comments, I'll see you in town square Hello and welcome In this post ill be keeping everyone updated with the tasks that are completed everyday from day 1 until we have a release date. Ill try my best to go into detail and give my open minded opinion on the tasks Day 1 When looking at day one you see all these tasks that need to be completed, It does seem scary to think that we could be waiting a while. Day 2 Now comparing day two with day one you begin to see some decent changes, not much but it's still progress non the less! Environment: As seen in the picture developers have taken one more task on board and are working hard to get them done. Props: We can see that all the props are now finished for Town Square. Technical Art: We see here that the developers have taken one task on board to work on. UI & UX: Big step forward here, you can see within a day one of the tasks has been completed and the rest are in the works. User Interface: We see one task being taken on board today. Day 3 Day 3 is looking to be a nice step forward in development on the tasks, Looks like all 2D graphics are done and dusted. 2D Graphics: All the tasks have been completed and we can see some more help with other tasks. Technical Art: We see developers have taken one more task on board to work on. UI & UX: One of the tasks has been completed and only one more remains until UI & UX are all done. Gameplay: One of the tasks has been done and the developers have taken one more on board to work on. User Interface: We see one has been completed and developers have taken one more task on board as a result. Day 4 Day 4 is looking to be a little bit slow in terms of progress, this just means more work can be done tomorrow! Animation: All the animation work has been finished and we can expect more people working on other tasks. Character Art: Seems like the developers have taken this task on board and hopefully we can see this finished by tomorrow! Systems: Nice progress there today, 2 tasks done and a nice step towards completion. Day 5 Day 5 overall looks like a nice day for development, doesn't seem like we have encountered any setbacks. Environment: Developers have completed one more task here, and as a result we can see they have taken one more task on board to work with. Technical Art: We see here that the developers have completed one task and taken another one on board. Gameplay: Here we see that developers have completed one task and have taken one on board as well as testing another gameplay aspect. Day 6 Day 6 is looking like another nice step forward in the development process. Technical Art: We can see developers have completed one task and have taken another one on board to work with. Bug Tracker: As shown above we are seeing some nice movement in terms of bug fixing, we see that two bugs have been fixed. Gameplay: Developers have taken one more task on board to work with here. Day 7 Day 7 looks like a little bit of a slow day today, maybe because its Friday? Technical Art: We can see one task has been completed here and another one has been taken on board to work on. Bug Tracker: Developers have completed one more task on the list in terms of bug fixes. User Interface: We can see that developers have completed two tasks today and haven taken another one on board to work with. Day 8 Day 8 looking like a lot of progress has happened, especially for a Monday. Environment: We can see here that developers have brought two of the tasks into testing stages. Technical Art: As we can see from above, developers have completed one task and taken another one on board to work with. UI & UX: Another green bar! We can see everything here is now finished for the release. Systems: We see that developers have taken one new task on board to work with here. User interface: We can see that developers are now testing on of the features here, hopefully done tomorrow. Day 9 Day 9 overall is setting up to be a nice start to the week in development. Environment: We can see here that developers have completed two more tasks, with one more in progress and one in revision. Gameplay: In terms of gameplay we can see one more task completed, another in testing and one more taken on board. User Interface: We can see that one more task is now being thrown in the works and tested. Day 10 Day 10 looks like a one step forward and two steps back kinda day. Environment: We can see that there is one more task completed and one still in the works. Bug Tracker: We can see one new bug has been added to the list. Gameplay: As seen in the picture above, we can see one more task complete along with one more in the works. In addition we have one more added to the list. Day 11 Day 11 looks like we are back on track at slow but steady pace. Technical Art: We can see developers have taken one more task on board to work with. Systems: As seen in the picture, one task has been completed with one more in testing. User Interface: We have one task being put into the works for developers to work on. Day 12 Day 12 looks to be a bit of a weird day. Character Art: Seems as though developers have taken it out of the task tracker, Maybe it's no longer needed? Bug Tracker: One more bug has been completed here. I have no idea whats going on, maybe Friday is a lazy day? Notice: From this day onward until day 19 i was away due to a sudden family tragedy, that's why you see a sudden jump in the days Day 19 Day 20 Day 20 looks like a rather slow day, considering we are getting into the coding aspect we can begin to see these slow days occur more often. Gameplay: We see that developers have taken two more tasks on board to work on here. User Interface: We can see that developers have added another task on the pile to complete. Day 21 Day 21 looks to be at a slow pace compared to last week. Technical Art: We can see one task has been completed here. User Interface: Looks like one task has been put into testing phase. Day 22 Day 22 is your typical Friday work pace Systems: We can see that all systems tasks have been completed. Day 23 Day 23 Is a bummer in terms of progress. No progress was made today. With the data above 54 total tasks with an average of 5 being completed a day, i can assume the game COULD be ready for launch in 14-20 days. taking into account the extra man power when tasks are done. This is also assuming developers dont run into any major setbacks. I will try to keep this post up to date with daily updates on the tasks, Also giving my opinion on the day. In the mean time i want to know what everyone else thinks about all these tasks? Will there be more put in? Will the pase of the development speed up? Let me know what you think down below! 1 pointLet me say that my faith has been shaken not only because of the 3rd delay(that I know of) but because of almost every single one of the ppl who I told about this game and got them to pledge, has come back to me pointing out these facts to me and I gotta tell you, your not helping your case setting all these deadlines for yourselves and then missing them. I got to be honest here...this last delay is a bit disconcerting for a lot of people that I've sent your way. Dev blogs with more promises that this won't take much longer aren't very reassuring after the 3rd time ...Let me state that I bought a PC because of this game. After years on console, the idea of a game this epic, that can really distinguish PC gaming from console, made me decide it was time to get a PC. Now if they can pull it off, Identity can give us a game worthy of playing on some of these insanely priced rigs we pay for. But honestly after all the hype, 3 delays that I know of, 2 of which were further from the first because they didnt want to come out with a date prematurely and miss it. Which they did twice anyway...Now there is a more detailed progress tracker, which is honestly what we shoulda had in the first place, that doesn't look very complete. It looks so incomplete it that it makes me wonder how they could announce and miss 3 release dates in the first place. Now I'm not sitting here with a $15 to $30 "pledge"...In My Opinion that isn't a pledge. That's just trying to get an epic game for a pittance of what it's worth. I mean GTA went for $60 brand new for how long after it released? Gta is only life as a criminal. Not to mention they had a blank check to make it with thousands of people involved in development. Identity is life from a criminal side, working class side, civil servant side as well as many other aspects. And ppl think it's gonna get made by "pledging" $15-$30, now imagine how watered down GTA would be if they only invested a quarter or half of what they did to develop it. They put roughly 265 million dollars into developing/marketing, just the criminal side of life. Now either the fan base expects you guys to work a whole lot of hours, or put 264 million on top of our 1.1 million...That is why I DONATED what I did because this game can be so much more than gta, but it won't happen without our help... I am not asking for a refund, the money I put in was theirs to complete the game, or if they didn't. I really want Identity to become a reality. But if WE as their player base and investors, don't give them enough funding it won't come out. They'll either have to give up or get outside funding, if they get outside funding they could have to give up alot of artistic freedom's. We invest to keep the game WE want to see come to life...They would invest to make money, so certain things would get chopped. I paid for 60 my game, and gave another 190 towards helping Identity become real. I realize the scale of this game and what it's going to take to get made, and 1.1 million isn't gonna cut it. A massive portion of what it takes to make a game is man hours. People don't work for free...So if it took them so long to make gta with a blank check and thousands of ppl. How long and how much will it take to make a game that is bigger in scale than one of the biggest games released to date. To say GTA isn't massive is crazy, and this is so much bigger than that. This is like GTA, meets the Sims, meets police, fire & EMT simulator, meets politics & government simulator, meets drug making simulator, meets hunting simulator, and so on and so forth. So I am hoping that things really are going as good as we hear. But it seems to me that maybe we aren't being told the whole truth...are they getting enough funding, or something else...It seems that we are only hearing about the good side of development, honestly the only bad things I've heard is when a delay happens. I think we deserve to be kept in the loop a little better. At the very least more than a very cryptic progress tracker with no date and another "minor " setback promise. I have $250 into this game, I don't wipe my ass with hundreds either, but a game that's this massive of an undertaking is gonna need as much help as we can give it..With that being said we've seen a lot of telling us how fast things are moving, and top industry talent is working overtime in overdrive, and things are moving faster than they thought, you guys have a powerful new server making nightly builds for testing on steam. Everything is beginning to have that polished feel you expect in a real released game? Yet 3 delays, and only a scripted looking "game play" trailer...And now no release date just a more detailed progress tracker that really looks like there is a very LONG wait ahead of us...yet its predicted to be yet again a very "minor" wait.

1 pointJust take a chill pill and wait.You should be happy still because the task bars are looking more and more green everyday. You have to understand that this is a big game. The module itself is pretty big. So just think about ti. Now I understand the website part. But coming from me... who has training in HTML/CSS/JAVASCRIPT it isn't hard to make a website. But since that they are adding a lot of features and many more things to do on the website it makes it take longer to be built. But stay happy and content with the [progress that is being made and I can't wait to see you in the town hall.

I haven't actively tested in awhile.) You are the one arguing since it is your opinion right? Yet I am telling you the facts on how it really is/have been. They do not play test it. Yet you know more? Game developers to tell there testers more then you realize. You also don't know what type of tester I was or have been. Also why should I drop the matter? You are the one pushing it again and again. I am just filling in information for you. Yet you are arguing me about the information I am filling in with. My evidence is games launching with out a executable which shows that they don't play test the games. Where is your evidence they do? Since everything you have provided and linked says nothing about play testing.

You're also putting it out there for criticism. With the example above, you could say those reasons are your personal opinion. But you know, in the end, there are people bound to not realize that, and that's when you start spreading misinformation and, in the end, only hurting the game more than helping it. I'm sorry if somehow you had a hard time reading my message, but NO WHERE DID I SAY THAT. lol. I literally said they had a lot of time and money. That's seriously a plain fact that you can't argue. Let's look at what you actually said: Here, you state, "They must pf REALLY overestimated their capability of getting things done.". In other words, you're presenting something you don't know about, as if you do. "For a small team with such a big budget there's no reason they couldn't expand themselves even more (hiring more people that is).", and here, you assume you know their budget. Sure, we know how much they've raises so far. That's nowhere near to knowing their budget, as in all the income, and expenses. "By the last month/month and a half they got $100,000 more donations that could hire two or one very experienced dev.", and here you're stating they could just hire one or two 'experienced' developer. You may not have said "I'm suggesting I know better.", but you certainly implied it. So wow. Where to start? Let start with: Any developer can predict how long a task can take. He or she should know from prior experience how long it takes to get a task done. For example, an animator knows how long it takes himself/herself to get one animation done. Due to unexpected errors which has happened a lot lately, it would make sense to add a few days or a week to that time frame to prepare for it. For the rest of the stuff, short term job? What are you even talking about? lol. Little pay? Still what are you talking about? Also the last part still . . . what are you talking about? "A task done.", yes. Totally agree. Makes sense. If they know from experience. But now we're talking about thousands of tasks, over a long period of time since even before they announced the first release date. For such a small team, with as @Xzothi pointed out, with varying degree of experiences. And I'm assuming a short term job, with little pay. You have to think, and plan long-term. You can't spend all your money on bringing on more expensive developers right away. I'm by no means an accountant, or good with money on my personal use. But even I see the long-term implications. Yeah they got even more money. lol. I honestly don't know where you're going with that. Relativity speaking, it's not that much. Again, you have to think long term. A couple of thousands each month, won't get you that long. Let's say, for sake of argument. That money stopped coming in, right now. And, their monthly expense was 8,000$ USD, for example. Their current amount would only last for about 24 months, 2 years. Dude seriously. Websites do cost a good amount of money, but they don't hundreds of thousands of dollars. Software can cost up to $10,000, and even more, but some of which doesn't need to be bought or has cheaper alternatives. Yep office space does cost money. I would hope they get paid. I'm sure there is. See my previous point. The website was just an example. And one that I had looked into personally, because I was interested in the forum software. In conclusion, the only thing I have no idea about is some of the things you said. So some more explaining can help. I hope this clears some things up for you? A survey I did expresses that a good majority of the community (at least from those who voted which was a lot) believe the game devs are not telling the truth with what they're doing and the majority expects them to at least give a lot more detailed explanations for the delays. So I'm not the only one that thinks this and you saying so makes your whole argument invalid. Ever played FarCry 4? It's like that. It's a cult that's starting to form on the forum, because people don't know any better. And because of threads like these. Sure, there's a lot the devs could do to get more information out there. But there's also a lot the people could do to just research a little on their own, and find more information. And not just the misinformation and slander that's spreading in the General topic. Which is what people are seeing. Which literally and clearly shows just how many tasks that had to be done that the game devs would of never been able to complete on original release date and the first delay. You pretty much countered this point yourself earlier: They had a list of items that needed to be done. They thought they could get it in within the time frame. They didn't on both account, and are now using a different system. Keeping us in the loop of what is going on from a day to day basis. Then by all means, come up with a better idea. I for one, think the Dev Tracker is a better idea than an arbitrary release date.

1 pointI know @Norway174 I just wanted to mention that factor. Since it can he helpful to know where they are and where they are going. The team also likely will stay small for the simple reason they don't want to spend all there money quickly and have some money they can use for people who want to refund. Which is some information I seem to of gotten from what the developers them self have said.(At least when it comes to the and part.)

1 pointSigh... Let me try and address some things here for you, @HAWK. I agree. The delays are bad. But so is spreading misinformation and bullshit. You're not helping anyone, and only hurting the game in the long run. Delays happens, that's just the unfortunately side effect of game development. Normally, most games aren't as public and open as this one, so you just don't hear about them. Are you seriously suggesting you know how to develop Identity better than the developers? That you can accurately predict how long each task is gonna take, and magically hire experienced developers for a short-term job, with little pay, who also don't need any time to be thought the inner workings of the game? At the time of writing this post, they've raised 1,160,841$ USD, according to this source on their official website. Bringing in more people isn't as easy as 1, 2, 3... And they have a lot of expenses too. Who do you think pays for this forum you're on right on? Not only the hosting of the forum, but also the forum software costs money. And that's a monthly expense. And then there's the software they have to pay for, to make this game. The office space they have to rent, their own salaries, and a whole lot of other speculative expenses. In conclusion, you really have no idea what you're talking about. Their reasoning for delays are totally valid. It's not just some "excuse" as you seem it to be. @Paratus even said so himself in this very same thread. They've done thousands of tasks before the Dev Tracker. You're the one making excuses. Their reasoning for delaying, as disappointing as it is, is the truth. And that's it. No but's or if's.

1 pointI like how everyone was saying "wait until the release of the module. It's only a few days away then you'll be taking back what you said" then here we are. Another delay lol with little photos and 1 alright (at best) video of the actual game. It's truly sad. At least release the gosh dang Town Square Video that they said they will release to compensate for the first delay. But delays are nothing new here, we all just gotta hope for the best.

1 pointThis is exactly about being entitled. Promises are broken every day. But you can't compare the two. It wasn't a promise. It was a date they set forth and believed they could achieve what was necessary in the time frame they gave themselves. Because people kept asking for a date. Sure, I totally understand people wanting a date. And the devs shouldn't have a given one is they wasn't 110% sure they couldn't achieve it. And I also understand their reasoning for giving one. Put yourself in their shoes, and the community kept asking for a date. And you really felt you were close. Can you honestly tell me you wouldn't have set a date too? This happens all the time in game development, we're just not seeing it. Because it's being done internally. Which brings me to my second point, about complete lack of transparency. You only got yourself to blame on that one. There's the regulars Twitch Streams, monthly dev blogs, the Discord, and now even the daily Dev Tracker on the website. And if you for some reason, missed all of that. Snippets to the Twitch streams are being posted to a dedicated thread, in the topic, and people like @LuckyDuck are posting links to them all the time. You really got no excuse, AT ALL. There's info, and transparency all over the place. Just open your eyes. Sheesh... You people... It's not that hard to stay up to date and educate yourself. Or ask. Instead of just complaining, and being entitled, and acting like you deserve more than you really do. You're only hurting the game itself in the long run. The devs are people too. And they're still working on this game.

1 pointYou entitled pricks. You didn't BUY a game. You PLEDGED to help MAKE the game. And once the game is done, you'll get access to the game. You're not entitled to shit. So delays happens. There's no need to bring out your pitch forks and demand more than what you deserve. The ONLY thing you're doing now, by complaining, and wasting the devs time are making a worse game. Everyone who voted yes should feel ashamed of themselves.

1 pointI agree, the devs have said anyway that the VIP package is getting three extra items so I think that that's fair, now I'll have to ask you all to forgive me for going back and forth between thinking the devs are genuine and thinking maybe it's a false sense of security etc, you know tendencies of paranoia tend to make you a little unsure of things in life but I'm glad the devs are doing what they're doing

Would love to see your decorations too! I would obviously take you to mine too~ It's just that I am really interested how the other various apartments look like. I put luxury in Quotationmarks so n one gets the worng idea! I also think you can make the best out of everything. (: Ah, Town Square is gonna be fun. Maybe we can go to the karaoke bar after house-touring.

0 pointsThe past months here at the studio have been hectic, but our labors are paying off. It is with regret that I must make the decision to push back the public release of the Town Square module from April 23; however, the delay will be quite minor. Because this is now the second delay to an official firm release date, and because we expect this delay to be short-lived, we are as of this announcement releasing the Asylum Task Tracker. The new task tracker, visible on the Town Square section of the official website (here's a link for you), offers the Identity community and fans absolute transparency in our development progress. You can now see the tasks we have to complete before we're ready for the module to be publicly available. It will be updated each and every day. The list is not long, and displays all tasks since the tracker was created only a day ago. When all of the tasks are completed, of which none are major, Town Square will be released on Steam and available for play. Furthermore, the new Identity website is on schedule for a release just next week! The new website will come with all sorts of cool new features and we'll be building on it constantly as we move forward, too. With the release of the new website, I'm also going to begin regular Identity Insider releases. These Insider publications will add a ton of very detailed information on key systems within Identity. Delays are unfortunately a reality of all game development, whether a game is being produced by a large studio with hundreds of developers or a small team, such as ours, with only dozens. We faced unforeseeable technical issues recently; however, all of the issues we had have been fully resolved and, as you can see with the new tracker, release is extremely close. As soon as we get some final bits of art in place, we're going to compile a Town Square trailer video and begin showing off the game and environments on our development streams. So to sum it all up, keep an eye on the new tracker (see that link above) and follow our progress. The tracker will be updated once per day as it has to be done manually. Once we get our production software updated so that it can be automated, it'll be a live display. I also want to say that you to our loyal community and fan-base. Delays are never a fun thing to experience with any game, so everyone here in the studio is working overtime like crazy to get you into our world. You'll be in the Town Square very soon and this is going to make the game a much better experience. I'm really excited for our first module release as it's shaping up to be a really fun and beautiful experience. In fact, the Town Square is much more than I even though it would have been early on; I'm extremely happy with what we've put together.
