Announcement I will no longer be updating this post because of full-time work. I simply don't have enough time to do it every morning. I know i said i would be updating this post daily but i just cant anymore. Thank you to everyone who has been positive in the comments, I'll see you in town square Hello and welcome In this post ill be keeping everyone updated with the tasks that are completed everyday from day 1 until we have a release date. Ill try my best to go into detail and give my open minded opinion on the tasks Day 1 When looking at day one you see all these tasks that need to be completed, It does seem scary to think that we could be waiting a while. Day 2 Now comparing day two with day one you begin to see some decent changes, not much but it's still progress non the less! Environment: As seen in the picture developers have taken one more task on board and are working hard to get them done. Props: We can see that all the props are now finished for Town Square. Technical Art: We see here that the developers have taken one task on board to work on. UI & UX: Big step forward here, you can see within a day one of the tasks has been completed and the rest are in the works. User Interface: We see one task being taken on board today. Day 3 Day 3 is looking to be a nice step forward in development on the tasks, Looks like all 2D graphics are done and dusted. 2D Graphics: All the tasks have been completed and we can see some more help with other tasks. Technical Art: We see developers have taken one more task on board to work on. UI & UX: One of the tasks has been completed and only one more remains until UI & UX are all done. Gameplay: One of the tasks has been done and the developers have taken one more on board to work on. User Interface: We see one has been completed and developers have taken one more task on board as a result. Day 4 Day 4 is looking to be a little bit slow in terms of progress, this just means more work can be done tomorrow! Animation: All the animation work has been finished and we can expect more people working on other tasks. Character Art: Seems like the developers have taken this task on board and hopefully we can see this finished by tomorrow! Systems: Nice progress there today, 2 tasks done and a nice step towards completion. Day 5 Day 5 overall looks like a nice day for development, doesn't seem like we have encountered any setbacks. Environment: Developers have completed one more task here, and as a result we can see they have taken one more task on board to work with. Technical Art: We see here that the developers have completed one task and taken another one on board. Gameplay: Here we see that developers have completed one task and have taken one on board as well as testing another gameplay aspect. Day 6 Day 6 is looking like another nice step forward in the development process. Technical Art: We can see developers have completed one task and have taken another one on board to work with. Bug Tracker: As shown above we are seeing some nice movement in terms of bug fixing, we see that two bugs have been fixed. Gameplay: Developers have taken one more task on board to work with here. Day 7 Day 7 looks like a little bit of a slow day today, maybe because its Friday? Technical Art: We can see one task has been completed here and another one has been taken on board to work on. Bug Tracker: Developers have completed one more task on the list in terms of bug fixes. User Interface: We can see that developers have completed two tasks today and haven taken another one on board to work with. Day 8 Day 8 looking like a lot of progress has happened, especially for a Monday. Environment: We can see here that developers have brought two of the tasks into testing stages. Technical Art: As we can see from above, developers have completed one task and taken another one on board to work with. UI & UX: Another green bar! We can see everything here is now finished for the release. Systems: We see that developers have taken one new task on board to work with here. User interface: We can see that developers are now testing on of the features here, hopefully done tomorrow. Day 9 Day 9 overall is setting up to be a nice start to the week in development. Environment: We can see here that developers have completed two more tasks, with one more in progress and one in revision. Gameplay: In terms of gameplay we can see one more task completed, another in testing and one more taken on board. User Interface: We can see that one more task is now being thrown in the works and tested. Day 10 Day 10 looks like a one step forward and two steps back kinda day. Environment: We can see that there is one more task completed and one still in the works. Bug Tracker: We can see one new bug has been added to the list. Gameplay: As seen in the picture above, we can see one more task complete along with one more in the works. In addition we have one more added to the list. Day 11 Day 11 looks like we are back on track at slow but steady pace. Technical Art: We can see developers have taken one more task on board to work with. Systems: As seen in the picture, one task has been completed with one more in testing. User Interface: We have one task being put into the works for developers to work on. Day 12 Day 12 looks to be a bit of a weird day. Character Art: Seems as though developers have taken it out of the task tracker, Maybe it's no longer needed? Bug Tracker: One more bug has been completed here. I have no idea whats going on, maybe Friday is a lazy day? Notice: From this day onward until day 19 i was away due to a sudden family tragedy, that's why you see a sudden jump in the days Day 19 Day 20 Day 20 looks like a rather slow day, considering we are getting into the coding aspect we can begin to see these slow days occur more often. Gameplay: We see that developers have taken two more tasks on board to work on here. User Interface: We can see that developers have added another task on the pile to complete. Day 21 Day 21 looks to be at a slow pace compared to last week. Technical Art: We can see one task has been completed here. User Interface: Looks like one task has been put into testing phase. Day 22 Day 22 is your typical Friday work pace Systems: We can see that all systems tasks have been completed. Day 23 Day 23 Is a bummer in terms of progress. No progress was made today. Progression Pictures Days 1-5 Side By Side (Click) Days 5-10 Side By Side (Click) Days 1-10 Side By Side (Click) Days 10-20 Side By Side (Click) Days 1-20 Side By Side (Click) Summary Looking at the images above you can sort of see the development pan out at a decent pase so far, keep in mind that the more tasks that are ticked off means more man power for the rest of the tasks. With the data above 54 total tasks with an average of 5 being completed a day, i can assume the game COULD be ready for launch in 14-20 days. taking into account the extra man power when tasks are done. This is also assuming developers dont run into any major setbacks. I will try to keep this post up to date with daily updates on the tasks, Also giving my opinion on the day. In the mean time i want to know what everyone else thinks about all these tasks? Will there be more put in? Will the pase of the development speed up? Let me know what you think down below! Welcome to La Cosa Nostra, or this thing of ours, we are a criminal corporation which will expand across the land. We will grow together as some of the closest and most lucrative families out there. Join us and I promise you one thing, you will make more money than you know what to do with. Oath -Don't get in the way of making money. -Don't say anything to the police or anyone outside the family. -Don't touch the drug business. -Keep a low profile -Respect your superiors Now let me elaborate on this. If you try to whack someone who is making us good money or screw with them then we may have you whacked as well. If you get caught by the police you never say a word to them, if you do then you won't wake up the next day that includes no talking about business in front of outsiders. Also, no drugs. The drug business brings too much heat and is too risky just don't get involved. We are not a bunch of thugs, don't sit around and throw up "gang signs" keep a low profile and keep your life. Finally, if you are given an order you will follow it to the letter, I don't care if you are ordered to kill a close friend or relative, follow orders and respect superiors. Well, with that out of the way now I can move on to what the jobs will be Personal Bodyguard: You are the only person who will actually see me in person and you must protect me at all costs. Others will hear from me over the phone or text so that it is less likely for me to get caught and so I can keep La Cosa Nostra on its feet, unless I decide it is necessary for us to meet. Anyway, this person may be ordered to kill the underboss if I feel that he is attempting a hostile takeover. Acting Boss: You will act as my face. and take care of the day-to-day in the field. However, if you hold this position don't let the power get to your head and think you run the show. Consigliere: You are not an official part of the family, however, you supply us with connections and money and act as a sort of bank and adviser. In order to apply for this job you must have a decent amount of money and you must have many outside connections through businesses or government. It would also be recommended if you had plenty of ideas for us as well. Underboss: You will manage over capos and make sure that they are all collecting money. If they aren't we will have some enforcers deal with them. Capo: Capos will be given their own little territory to hold as well as a few rackets in that territory. You will also have access to soldiers within your own crew. You can do whatever you want with your crew and your territory as long as you withhold our oath. Soldiers: These are the floor workers of the family and do most of the dirty work. These are the enforcers, the hitmen, the gun-runners, and so on. These guys get the jobs done and are the foundation for this thing of ours. This is where most will start at and are not made members yet. The Insiders: These are the people we can count on to help us in a jam. These guys are not made members but are protected because they help us out in return. (Police officers, doctors, politicians, businessmen, and more are welcome) Message me directly if you are interested! Don't want the police to see who we have now do we

The past months here at the studio have been hectic, but our labors are paying off. It is with regret that I must make the decision to push back the public release of the Town Square module from April 23; however, the delay will be quite minor. Because this is now the second delay to an official firm release date, and because we expect this delay to be short-lived, we are as of this announcement releasing the Asylum Task Tracker. The new task tracker, visible on the Town Square section of the official website (here's a link for you), offers the Identity community and fans absolute transparency in our development progress. You can now see the tasks we have to complete before we're ready for the module to be publicly available. It will be updated each and every day. The list is not long, and displays all tasks since the tracker was created only a day ago. When all of the tasks are completed, of which none are major, Town Square will be released on Steam and available for play. Furthermore, the new Identity website is on schedule for a release just next week! The new website will come with all sorts of cool new features and we'll be building on it constantly as we move forward, too. With the release of the new website, I'm also going to begin regular Identity Insider releases. These Insider publications will add a ton of very detailed information on key systems within Identity. Delays are unfortunately a reality of all game development, whether a game is being produced by a large studio with hundreds of developers or a small team, such as ours, with only dozens. We faced unforeseeable technical issues recently; however, all of the issues we had have been fully resolved and, as you can see with the new tracker, release is extremely close. As soon as we get some final bits of art in place, we're going to compile a Town Square trailer video and begin showing off the game and environments on our development streams. So to sum it all up, keep an eye on the new tracker (see that link above) and follow our progress. The tracker will be updated once per day as it has to be done manually. Once we get our production software updated so that it can be automated, it'll be a live display. I also want to say that you to our loyal community and fan-base. Delays are never a fun thing to experience with any game, so everyone here in the studio is working overtime like crazy to get you into our world. You'll be in the Town Square very soon and this is going to make the game a much better experience. I'm really excited for our first module release as it's shaping up to be a really fun and beautiful experience. In fact, the Town Square is much more than I even though it would have been early on; I'm extremely happy with what we've put together. I hope you enjoy the peak behind the scenes with the new task tracker and we'll be seeing you in the square soon!

Hello there! I am just curious if the people who pledged a high amount of money are willing to show people around their fancy apartments? I dont have much money, so I could only pledge the studio apartment, but I love housing and would just like to see what the more "luxurious" apartments look like. Maybe already in Town Square? I would be really happy to socialize and have a tour around your apartment, if you are willing to show me around. Thanks in advance for answers even if they are "I would never do this"! (btw sorry for any typos or grammar mistakes, I am from Germany)

That's the thing everybody is entitled to their own opinion and thoughts some of us care a lot and others don't. Nevertheless time will tell and the only thing we can to right now is to wait, hope, pray or whatever. I for myself have backed so many projects over the years some got canceled some made it. But I never got upset or tried to force anything. This does not help the developers. Instead I focus on the bright side of stuff. But it is like it is, everybody is different.

There will be no typical wages for careers. You have to do jobs to actually get paid and so if you afk/ do nothing then you earn nothing.

Hi I was wondering do only ppl who pledge get apartments? Or can other players buy apartments later on in the server? (Important as I need to know if I should pledge for the expensive package). Also can I still pledge after town square is released or will it be to late?

Which steam games would you totally recommend playing or waiting for? For me it is Scum, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord and Smalland that caught my attention

I believe they are a placeholder, and they will be improved later, but I am not sure. All I know is that the mechanics will be very realistic, but I don't think they will be BeamNG realistic. Some links down below will provide you with some answers to some questions you may have.

Like I said in game cash would be just fine for me. and not even a lot. I still support the Game 100%
  26. 1 point
I understand wishing for more, especially in return for going through all of the hardships development has brought, but those who paid did so to support game development, knowing there may be roadblocks. Same as every other funding project. In my opinion, whatever you paid for is fair. Especially after some of the higher packages have been boosted in rewards. But to compensate for everyone, I feel the only thing fair the developers could give people would be clothing or starting money. And all players already start with $1000. Giving every backer a car or home just makes the game too easy. Especially for those pledging less to get that ‘from scratch’ experience. While compensation would be nice, there is no good form in which I can see doing so that would make things still fair and fun and also feel like it’s enough compensation.

I agree. Even though I am still 100% with this game. I do think we should get a little bit of compensation for the wait. I'm never going to refund this game. No matter what!

I too have a studio apartment and I plan on making the most out of it. Throw me a bed in there with some room dividers as well as a couch and tv. Some end tables, potted plants, wall painting, lamps. Some form of music, etc etc. Looking forward to the Town Squares release so I can get into the game and see what works for me.

Hello Andrew811, what separates us from the other crime families is our strict rules against drugs for one. Most of the families on here say nothing about drugs and are willing to bring in that heat but we don't. We are also new, this is why we don't have many members so as we grow there will be more organization and better opportunities will become available. With that said, we don't need 100+ members I mean if you think about it these criminal families must have a lot going on for anyone to be given a job and with a family that large it is impossible to keep everyone happy and impossible to keep tabs on everyone and it is impossible to get to know everybody. As I said we will be a tight-knit group and it will make it more lucrative and more enjoyable for the people here in La Cosa Nostra.

See the thing about a Serial Killer and why I think it could be really interesting is this. If they're role playing as a serial killer they should never put that anywhere in their Bio. hell they should straight up lie outright in any bio's they make, The character they portray is just that a character. So in game you could have your character be Johnny Busdriver right. spend the game being friendly. driving your bus. making friends role playing your ass off. But...some nights you take yourself away from your friends, your family, your day to day. you go to a different town, you dress completely different you get your hair done or dyed temporarily. You act how you don't act "at home" you meet people out and about, you gain their trust. maybe you have a spot outside of town. you get them drunk or high )however those systems in game work_ and you take advantage tying them up, trapping them away from home, they don't really know you, don't know your face, the voice you're using now is completely fake till you get them alone. And it's still different from the voice you use "at home" yourself. You take your time you finish them off at your leisure. maybe it's a few "days" in game later of you actively RPing with this person. If you did it well the "Victim" could have just as enjoyable an experience as the killer. then the victim is killed. you dump the body or evidence (which I really hope is somehow in the game. so your hideaway isn't just a blinking murder scene to the cops) and the police find the evidence. A case for them to inspect. They never find you. it goes cold in the months as Johnny Busdriver has BBQs with his buddies back home. Till a few months later when a new case pops up for the cops in a different town, or the same town who knows. I don't know the killers M.O There's a LOT you could do with a serial killer character. I've never once thought of it as just an excuse to RDM. I mean really. why would a killer even use a gun? it's not personal enough for them usually. Just imagine after months of real time of the cops not finding this killer. In game years can pass and his list goes up. the killer gets braver leaves notes, enjoys hearing about himself on the player run radio shows all types of things. Then imagine the cops thinking they found the person and a big uproar happens. But ti's not the guy. It'd be the OJ trial from back in the 90s big following. strong RP. make use of reporter characters, judges, politicians would go nuts trying to spin the capture and imprisonment to their name. But then imagine if they put away a guy and the killings keep happening. In a strong RP server a character could be in Jail for a long time in game. is it a copycat? did they get the wrong guy? Fun times.

I plan to roleplay sort of like myself, since that would be really easy. I would try to stay out of most crime activity as best as i can. Probably just try to find a good job that I would enjoy, hang out in social areas and... whatever else comes up.
