The first module of the game will be released 23rd of April In order to play it though you need to buy the founders pack which is 30$ In my opinion the game will be worth it

Committed to the Asylum Wow, what a month. This has been the busiest, craziest month we've ever had at Asylum Entertainment and the hard work is really showing. Most of the guys here at the office have been putting in a lot of overtime hours to get the Town Square module ready as soon as possible. I myself have been working half my time as a programmer, tossing some cool new systems together. I really, really can't wait for everyone to see what we're putting together! For the past few days my personal pet project has been a total overhaul of the character control and animation system. We're working on getting new animations entirely, but it's amazing how much nicer character movement looks right now after some extra TLC. In the past Identity videos, you'll notice the camera is always locked behind your character and you rotate the character with the mouse. Now, movement is a little more like games such as Grand Theft Auto in which you can run toward the screen or parallel to it, too. If you're holding your forward run key/stick, it'll play like before. It really adds a much better sense of control. Alternatively, when you're in combat mode (weapons or melee), the view is again locked behind your shoulders. None of this applies to first-person view, of course. We've been putting a lot of time into polishing and enhancing character creation and customization in preperation for the Town Square launch. I wanted to share a screenshot to give you an idea of the extensive customization options available. You can control your gender, race, blemishes, hair and a ton of facial modifiers. You can select from a couple dozen pieces of clothing to start in, too, but most will have to be purchased at a shop. Character creation work in progress I've been waiting a very long time to see Identity in the state it is right now. We have a powerful new server making nightly builds for testing on Steam and everything is beginning to have that good polished feel you expect in a real, released game. There's still work to be done but it's an incredibly exciting time for us here. Sooner rather than later There are all sorts of features we want for the Town Square which were always planned to be added months after release. With art development moving at a faster pace than I ever anticipated it would, given the relatively tiny size of our team, it seems that we might be able to include some of these features sooner than I expected. Some of these features, which should be ready somewhat soon after Town Square is available, include tattoos, haircuts and even the shooting range. Tattoo shop (WIP) Tattoo design and development progress (WIP) A look inside the Asylum In keeping with our committment to transparency and open communication with the community, our new website will soon be launching (even before the Town Square). The new website will have all sorts of shop options for you to check out, but one of the more interesting aspects will be our development tracker. We're going to be showing you exactly where our development stands in regards to each milestone, such as the Town Square release. You're going to see live data showing what we're working on and how long we expect each element to take. Then, following the Town Square release we'll keep this going for each future development milestone. It'll sort of be like looking over our shoulders in the office yourself. The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday. We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. This is the best place to get to know the fine details Identity! -- John VanderZwet

Salutations everyone! You might be surprised to see me in this far corner of the forums! I recently purchased a cheap $200 dell computer and threw a $100 GT 1030 GPU inside (prices are in Canadian currency). My goal is to see how well or poorly Town Square runs on low end hardware, and I'd like the community's opinion on how I should proceed! I'd like to ask a few Qs below and I'll see if I can shape up a video using your input. Note that this is just a personal fun little experiment of mine, John didn't put me up to it or anything like that. I just think this would be a neat thing to do with the community. 1. What software should I use to show the PC's specs? (CPU-Z, the BIOS, Windows itself etc.) 2. If I had to choose one, should I opt for live game capture via an external capture card, or record the monitor with a tripod+camera? Shadowplay/OBS isn't an option because Shadowplay isn't supported and OBS tanks on low end hardware. 3. What software should I use to monitor FPS? (Steam's FPS monitor, MSI Afterburner, Fraps etc.) And if you have any other general remarks about how I should test stuff out, let me know! I don't think I'll be posting benchmark graphs (as imo it's kinda weird to do that for a game your working for aha, if they floated around the net then out of context they would lack proper disclaimer transparency) but I would love to show long clips of gameplay when Town Square releases. A lot of people have been asking about minimum specs for a while, and I hope this little endeavor will help lend a hand in discovering the answer (or at the very least, help supplement the testing the dev team will do)! Here are some pics of the PC if anyone is interested! Processor is an intel core i3-2120 and has 8GB of ram. Case: Internals: The GT 1030:

im really exited for the module and we only have 5 days for the release , , but im dissapointed that the devs promised like 3 times that they will release the trailer of TS and will release photos of end-finished TS , also they promised the website should be out before the the module. and again nothing happend , why i have a feeling this module will be pushed to May !!! and the new website wont come out ?

Not on Day 1 but the shooting range in the police station will eventually open up through an update to allow players to test the guns. So no at first but eventually yes. @ANOKATA Cars is a no to driving but seeing them in the garage will be something eventually too.

We are still active. But we need supporters. There should be no reason for a person to be able to be murdered at the hands of a common thug or killer.

Q: What are the system requirements? A: There is no official knowledge yet as its too early to say, but if you can run games like GTA V, Arma 3 and Ark you should be fine.

Can we practice firing weapons in town square or is the firing range not included in this module?

idk what drugs you have been doing, or maybe it s just your eyes who need to be washed out:p but they showed some real work, even if u just scroll up on this page. The stuff they make in streams and show on the forums etc is actually real work, you know that? Because reddit had some bad opinions, identity is a scam? there are alot of supporters, and alot of haters, who will see it s not a scam when the game comes out. Enjoy the rest of your day, the suns out gooood here in Belgium ; D also, on monday you get more "real work".

I believe you have to bandage up your wounds or you can bleed out and die. However you may self heal over a very long period but likely you won't and will have to go hospital to heal.

In certain areas, especially a place with a lot of businesses or venues, I think that paid parking would be a great way to allow players to make money. So paid parking could be run in a select number of ways. The default way would be to have the parking service be owned by the town's government on an automated system, with a fixed price. The money earned would go to fund the local government. However I think that paid parking could be privatized. If a player with enough money wanted to buy the parking lot/parking garage, they could do so and profit from it. And of course if the owner chose to, they could allow player employment, just like any other business. A customer would drive up to a ticket dispenser, pay a price, and receive a parking ticket/receipt in their inventory (maybe you put the receipt in your window). This would allow people to break the law and illegally park if they chose to. Just by driving past the ticket dispenser, you could still park. Allowing illegal parking would also give the police another task they could carry out, and earn bonuses for. Please tell me what you think of this idea, and if you agree that there should be paid parking. EDIT: Thanks for all the replies, I'm glad I see my ideas are not totally idiotic

No one likes delays. John (Paratus) didn't like delaying it for an extra month, but so far it's been worth it. Otherwise it would have been very tight and they wouldn't have had the time to do more thorough internal testing. Right now it's on tracks and it's very close to the release date. The only kind of delay I would expect at this point would be caused by server side issues. I've paid a considerable amount of money over time to support the developers. They need it for developing the game, and I know they aren't greedy like some triple a companies. We all want this game to succeed don't we?

I'm excited no matter how little there may be to do in the town square compared to what we are expecting in the full game. If it is just walking around and talking like I expect with some added activities they stated.. it may get boring, but remember it is content and it is better than where we are now. Hell I know if I get bored I can always just hop back to perp

Please add a tweak to your system. Create zones that magnify stress extremely high for the instigator in nice areas that would be unrealistic places to be attacked in the real world. At the same time don't raise stress very high for the defender when he defends himself with non deadly force in the nice areas/ low crime zones. -(One punch knock out?) This system will create a more realistic crime map that matches real world. There are wealthy areas with very little to no crime and other zones with very high crime. Plus players that don't want to be messed with in that way can stick to the good areas as they would in real life while also getting a jazz when they take a trip to the bad areas where crime is more likely to happen.

My concept will dissuade players from attacking individuals in a nice (low crime) area by allowing a greater advantage to the defender via the announced "stress" system. Giving the defender a chance to knock out the attacker with one return punch. The goal is to create a realistic non homogeneous crime map, just like real life. This can be done by the developer of the game by creating zones that benefit a defender and his property, zones that have no alteration at all and even zones that benefit an attacker or criminal. You might even create a no attack zone to represent extremely well protected assets. This will allow players to not be constantly troll attacked if they stick to safe areas. Perhaps there is a fee involved if you don't spend a certain amount of time outside such zones.

the full game release? yes. the module? personally no. a year ago it was nearly complete. here we are sure with a revamped game and all, but town square will still have the same content it would a year ago, which is minimal. after a week people will be back on the forums awaiting for more.

I have given this idea some thought, and if I understand what you are saying correctly, I think this idea can be tweaked to become a challenge for the governor! I don't know much about how crime works in Identity, so don't take this too seriously. My idea is that if a criminal commits a robbery, it should cause property damage to the city. These property damages would be payed for by the government. The amount lost in damages would increase the longer law enforcement takes to arrive at the scene. Now, here's where the criminal map idea comes in. "Nice" areas can be robbed just like "bad" areas, but they cause more property damage per minute (or whatever unit of time). Keep in mind that the government has to pay for these losses themselves. In bad areas, property damage would be less. This prompts law enforcement to respond quicker to nice area crimes. Why? Because if the government loses more money (which would occur with going to bad area crimes reported first over nice area ones) their funding could be cut. The governor has to find out a good way to split up law enforcement efficiency for different places, to minimize damage and maximize satisfaction. Now, this whole thing makes a lot of assumptions, so take it lightly .
