4 pointsThe delay is unfortunate, for sure. We at Asylum feel it more than most and we hated to do this, but it's necessary. First impressions are the only ones that matter. We have to be sure that when we release the Town Square, server issues and the like are minimal. The only thing we'd ever said regarding the previous date was that we were "on schedule", which was true. It would have been very tight, though. Moving forward, this new date is only one month longer but that gives our developers time to make sure things are done right and not rushed.

3 pointsEveryone understands that games take time, well if they don't they should because it does take a really long time. The problem is that these devs keep saying one thing and then do something else. You can't trust a single thing they're saying anymore. I don't trust them at all and I don't see how anyone could. The only reason some still trust them is because they want to play the game. If this was any other real life situation where a person promised something to someone and then don't keep the promise you would never trust that person again. They should of just said 2019 but they get greedy and instead take too much water over their heads and later make up excuses. These guys need to pull their shit together if they want anyone to actually trust them at all when it finally does get released.

2 pointsSo just to clear this up; This video is not intended to bring hate to the developers but more to show them what the community wants and give them some recommendations on what they should do! Leave your opinion; agree or disagree with my points on here on in the comments. Thanks- Aaron.

2 pointsHey everyone. First of all let me start this by saying I've been a huge fan and player of Altis Life for years and have been looking forward very much to Identity, and I still am. With that being said, the amount that some people are defending the developers here is quite crazy. Don't get me wrong, the developers should be treated nicely and in a fair manner, but they also must be criticized for their mistakes, how will they ever do things better if not? I want to address a couple of arguments I have seen. 1. It's game development, of course this stuff happens!: I agree with you, delays are a part of development and sometimes they are needed. This is completely fine, the issue is not in the delay itself, but the way the developers have handled the community. At first people were arguing with the video, saying it was not a set date so it's not their fault if it gets pushed, which is fair enough, the issue now is Town Square WAS a set date, and I still see people arguing about it, you're going back on what you originally said? At the end of the day, DELAYS ARE FINE, the issue is not the delays, but the communication. Let's look at the video, at first we were told end of January and start of February, then left in the dark for a bit, then told with a few days, then it comes out over a week later with rather disappointing results (Also, the reason for the delays was supposedly animations, which if that is true, I really cannot see anywhere in that trailer where there were complex animations or things that were not placeholder, which the devs have admitted themselves. Also, as a video editor myself, I seriously do not understand how that would have taken over a week tops). This is bad communication, which leads to broken trust. 2. It's all your faults for making them focus on videos and stuff! No. If the dev team is that split or busy, then nothing of the sort should have been revealed to the public. I see people going at others because they never PROMISED it, which they did not, but they did communicate it to the community and gave a pretty narrow date, so what do you expect? On a community management side this has just been handled horribly, and I put no blame at all on the community manager as it seems he was just left in the dark as well. Now people may say, well that's just developers, they need to tell people about things! That's not really the case, but even if it was, there is a better way to communicate it, take this for example: Hey everyone! We have a new video coming, currently we are not sure when it will be released, but please look forward to it in the future! That is much better than: Hey everyone! There is a new video coming at the end of Janu....start of Febr.....Few da....At some point....Maybe. Let me finish this by saying this, I am still hopeful for this game, I want it to succeed and I hope it does! That is the point of criticism in the first place, not to hate, but to try and assist someone in bettering their product, if everyone said my work was amazing just to be nice, I would probably still be making the worst video edits on this planet, criticism is important, and trying to hate towards it or defend it is quite ridiculous. With all that being said, thumbs up to the devs for allowing people to share their opinions like this and to criticize them, some other studios would try to hide this type of stuff. In the end, the issue is not with development, it is with communication. I hope for the best for this game, I really do.

2 pointsCrime Doesn't Pay, This Time Earlier this month we released a quick and raw gameplay video showing off an interaction in a rural area of the world. The art in the video is very much in development, but it's a great way to see some of the features and how they work. You'll get a glimpse of a drug production mini-game, the computer system used by police officers, and more. For this dev blog I wanted to toss in a couple clips that didn't make it into the video; all in glorious GIF form. The environment shown in the video is actually quite old. For example, those trees have been in use for a couple years of our development. The character animations (in fact, the entire way you control the character) will also be much different when you get into the Town Square. To give you an idea of how our art has progressed over time, see below one of the older placeholder trees, as is seen in the video, compared to a more recent tree which will be found in the Town Square. The Finishing Touches As you'd expect, our priority for the last month has been getting the Town Square ready for play! We've been working overtime getting everything into place, and it's shaping up very nicely. You'll see from the image above that our artists have been producing absolutely incredible assets. In my own opinion, it's the nicest looking environment I've ever seen in an MMORPG to date. With the original release date for the Town Square quickly approaching, it's become evident that we're unfortunately going to have to push the date back, although the delay will not be long. More work is required to ensure that the launch goes smoothly; we need time to reinforce our server structure and do more internal playtesting. The Town Square will be released to all Founders (and above) one month later on April 23. This is an unfortunate reality of game development, but we want to make sure you get a quality product which isn't rushed out the door too soon. To help ease the pain of waiting for a taste of Identity, we're going to start throwing more media out for you, including a Town Square trailer video overviewing the features you'll find inside. Making it Big! We recently hit the incredible milestone of $1,000,000 USD raised! In fact, right now as of this writing we're in at just under $1,025,000. The support from our community and pledgers has been absolutely incredible. I wanted to take this chance to say thank you; it's because of you that Identity is becoming a reality. The game we've all wanted for such a long time is coming. Around the Studio We're in overdrive over here, working hard to get the Town Square ready to go! As I sit here in my office typing this blog post, Andrew is finishing up the new character creation system. The user interface Artur made is beautiful. I couldn't be happier with the new UI systems he's produced following Scaleform's demise (our old middleware which is now dead). The biggest change here in the office this month is the addition of Mark (who the community has dubbed Marker), our resident graphic designer. He's pumping out amazing art for in-game brands at an incredible pace. This will translate into all sorts of clothing brands and patterns, wallpapers and much more. He'll be bringing you a whole lot of customization options throughout Identity. The real big news, though, is the birth of our lead programmer Henrik's (Sone) new baby boy! Be sure to congratulate him if you spot him on Discord. He's probably too tired to read, though. Liam has been getting a lot done on the new Identity website, too. You'll be seeing the launch of this new website quite soon, and it's going to bring a whole bunch of new options and features for you to enjoy. The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday. We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. This is the best place to get to know the fine details Identity! -- John VanderZwet

1 pointDISCLAIMER: Everything in this post is a concept and will not reflect the finished business plans and features. Welcome to the Velocity Logistics business plan. We are a logistics company that will strive towards building a solid and stable logistics core in a domestic and commercial way. Our aim will be to tackle our clients needs by offering them logistical solutions. The services that we will provide will range from, but are not limited to: ➤ Supply Chain Management ➤ Document Courier Service ➤ Logistical Solutions & Advice ➤ Home & Office Removal Service ➤ Commercial Delivery ➤ Domestic Delivery ➤ Specialty Delivery ➤ Heavy Haulage For more information, see "Future Technology" section of the post. (Video created by @Zebra) At this time as we do not have a feel for the games economy or market. So the financial department has decided not to release pricing until the games release or until more information is released about how the games economical systems may work. Below is the Start-up Cost sheet as of now for Velocity Logistics. These are subject to change due to the variability of costs in game. These are just estimates and does not include a pro forma (projected) profit and loss statement or a pro forma (projected) balance sheet. Those will be added after the economy in-game has been flushed out properly. Anyone looking to invest should contact @MichaelPayne or @VelocityLogistics. - Andrew, Financial Director This vehicle will be used for everyday delivery for both domestic and commercial operations: This vehicle will be used for high-priority & express delivery, again, for both domestic and commercial sectors: For heavy haulage, long distance and larger cargo, the vehicle shown below will be used: For commercial and domestic removal service, including homes and offices, the vehicle below will be used: To ensure that there is no delay in our operations, we have decided to implement our own maintenance division which will include these vehicles shown below: The future technology section is to showcase our ideas for future mods for when mod support is added in Identity. Whether it be vehicle technology or a pseudo global warming mechanic. See below for some of our current ideas. The above images show a custom in-vehicle operating system that allows the driver to log in with their unique credentials provided to access an array of custom features including delivery schedule, navigation maps, important updates from HQ, panic button, SOS breakdown recovery (and more). We would also like to implement a custom "Start/Stop" system, acting as a type of AFK mechanic. So if your vehicle is left unattended or idling for more than 15 seconds, the engine will cut off and then will automatically resume when the accelerator is pressed. This will save fuel and add immersion. Here is the PDA that we plan on using for our drivers when they are delivering goods. Our warehouse will be modern, in a vast and easily accessible area to meet all of our storage and operational needs. Exterior: Interior: This is our high detailed warehouse plan, it was made with full efficiency and productivity in mind. We took numerous hours to plan and assemble the blueprint. See numbered legend for specific details on each room. The office building will be the back-bone of our company, so we want to make sure it's comfortable and stylish for our employees. Exterior: Interior: Here at Velocity Logistics, security is of the up-most importance. So it is vital to us that we keep our customers belongings and logistics safe. To ensure this all employees will have a ID card for access to our warehouses and offices. The plan I have envisioned for Velocity Logistics is a consistent and efficient security procedure which will allow for smooth operations in any situation. Now I know that data protection is a very worry-some topic among businesses, so here at Velocity Logistics, all of our data centers will be kept securely in an isolated room with 24/7 surveillance and if that isn't enough, all electrical devices will have anti intrusion software which changes it's algorithms to match whatever type of cyber attack is happening. As stated above, all the employees will be given a special key card, with higher authority allows access to more places. Our warehouses will be fitted with hidden CCTV with facial recognition. As for our delivery vehicles, they will have GPS tracking integrated inside, as well as alarms. - Jin, Security Director Our uniform will be sleek, modern and comfortable. In addition it will be practical for all our staff. The full list of all our current partners may be viewed on our website here. 1 pointHi folks. For both new and old users alike, the Identity Shop may be a confusing thing. Thus, I have devised this elegant FAQ article, with the aim that I should be able to solve any problem you may have, without you needing to post a help request. Info for Kickstarter and Old Site backers. If you purchased your pass on either Kickstarter or the Old Site, then you will need to claim your purchase on this page. In order to do so, you will need to create an Identity Shop account, which logs your backer details, rewards, amount pledged etc. Q: I'm being asked to create an account when I try to claim my pledge, yet I've already created an account for the forum? What gives? A: Though it may sound counter-intuitive, your forum account and your Identity Shop account are two wholly different beasts. You will need to create separate accounts for both - however, you can still use the same username/email address. Q: I have created my Shop account and have inputted my email address into the "Claim" box but no claims have been found? Why? A: As the little error box already says, this might be because the system auto-claimed your pledge for you when you created your Shop account. This only occurs when your Shop account email address is the same as your Kickstarter/Old Site email address. If you are still receiving this message, yet no claims have been registered on your account, then you may be using the wrong email address. Ensure that your Kickstarter/Old Site email address is the same one you want to use. If problems still, persist, be sure to contact a Moderator who'll be able to help you track down your lost goodies. Q: What about my exclusive Kickstarter backer's hat? A: Fear not. Any rewards - including the backer's hat, beta access, free motorbike/apartment etc are all tied to your claim and email address. You will receive them when you get your access key. Q: I originally pledged $25 in the Kickstarter campaign, yet this price has risen to $30 on the new site. Do I need to contribute a further $5 to receive my rewards A: Nope, the $5 price bump is simply a short rise in price (caused by inflation and the conversion from Kickstarter's US Dollars to Identity's Canadian Dollars) for new players. You do not need to give any more money to receive your rewards. Info for Potential/Existing Backers Thanks for backing the game! Depending on the extent of your pledge, you will receive your rewards upon the launch of the game. Q: Is there any benefit to backing the game now, rather than buying it at release? As an exclusive backer, you not only receive nice rewards (depending on your pledge) but also a hefty price reduction, compared to the retail price of Identity upon launch. You also get to support Identity's dev team. Q: I claimed my pledge - what now? A: Wait patiently. You will now receive email newsletters from the Identity team informing you of game progress until eventually, you will be sent your access code. Depending on the level of your pledge, this may either be for the beta, or the game's full release. Q: I donated money for one reward but have decided I now want the tier above it. Can I upgrade? A: Yes! If you log into your Shop account, you will see that all prices have now been discounted to different degrees, depending on your original pledge. If you want to upgrade, merely pay the difference between the price of your original purchase and the next tier up. E.g. You originally paid $15 but want the $30 pledge. This pledge has now been reduced by $15. Be sure to log in first though! Q: Where can I track my backer info? A: On this handy page here: https://www.identityrpg.com/account/view/profile. There, you can access the details of your pledge (including rewards), as well as change important account info, like your password, date of birth or name. Importantly, you can also link your Store account to your Steam account, which will enable you to claim your key upon launch. You will also be able to opt out of exclusive backer email updates too, if you feel the need. Your shop account can also be linked to your forum account. Q: I signed in with Facebook but have lost all my items? Where have they gone? Accounts created via Facebook are different to those created without Facebook. To find your items, be sure to sign in with the correct account. That's it, folks. If you have any other questions, feel free to post them in the comments - I'll be sure to answer them as soon as I can! Thanks! Felix

1 pointThis is going to be unformatted and my opinion. I am open and willing to hear all of your guys' voice in the replies, but here's what I need to say. So the release date on Town Square Module is set for March 22nd (I think). At the time of me typing this, it is February 28th or one day before March 1st. Therefore, we have about 22 days and 3 hours until the release (Same time as EST). This is exciting stuff. We have a new and fun game planned to come out in less than a month! However is this a real estimate? I know things always change around and things go wrong, but is it a real date we can look at? In my opinion no. We have looked at things such as the gameplay video which was promised in January, then wasn't delivered. Then promised on February 1st to be done in days. And once again, wasn't delivered. Then after two weeks into the month, we finally got something that in my opinion was very underwhelming and disappointing. So how can we trust that it will come out fully in the month of March? Is it because the devs said so? No. Because the devs also said they were just polishing the Gameplay video on January 22nd. So in all honesty, don't be surprised if no big set back occurs, and your waiting for the month of April to actually get access to the game.

1 pointHello! (AGAIN) I'm not new at all but I haven't had a lot of time for the IdentityRPG community so I'd like to introduce myself again. About me: My name is Brandon, I'm 16 years old and I live in Germany. In my free time I play a lot of computer games, but I'm also a member of my local fire department and I'm in the student representation of my school. Why Identity? I've been searching for realistic role play games for a long time and I am very fascinated in the game Identity. I love the graphics and I can't wait for the release! I've already bought access to the game, I'm just so excited! Special skills: In my free time I learned a little bit JavaScipt, Python and C languages like C, C++ and C# I'm pretty good at building up computer systems, aswell as overclocking and configuring software I'm pretty good in picture editing with Photoshop and other programs Interests: Tactical Shooters (Arma 3, Rainbow Six Siege etc.) Simulations (Microsoft FSX, X-Plane 11, Assetto Corsa, BeamNG.drive etc.) Photography (with my Canon EOS 60D) Last words: If you want to add me as a friend on Steam, you're welcome to do so ! I'm always looking for fellow players in different games! Social media: Steam: CrazyRazorTV Twitch: CrazyRazorTV Instagram: BrandonLue

1 pointHi all. Christ, it's been a while. I apologise for being so inactive as of late. Work has taken its toll and after a year of uncertainty, I'm back and better than ever. In short, I hope that phrase can eventually be used to define Identity. Honestly, the game has gone through something of a slump in recent months, with many previously-active backers losing interest and moving on to other matters, while more and more delays are announced. Thus, I propose that a radical new strategy is needed to propel Identity's popularity once again - something akin to the endorsement of FrankieOnPC from years gone by? What can we do to stir up new support, generating new forum members and dedicated players? How can both we and Asylum prove that Identity is not yet dead in the water? We need ideas, people! Regards, Felix

1 pointThe gameplay video is what kept me around, but after seeing this....thing....that they call gameplay, I am out. I honestly cannot believe people are defending this. Yes, game development is hard, but we've seen a few square metres of an area now that was already made a long time ago. Same goes for the few props that were in this environment. Now there can be lots of reasons for this, but just think: months and months and MONTHS ago, they told us they'd do a video soon(tm) showcasing some gameplay. In those MONTHS, they used stuff that was definitely already there when I pledged to mock up a video of UNDER TWO MINUTES. Say what you want, but that is sheer incompetence, whether you like it or not. I had high hopes and honestly want this to succeed, but I cannot support development of a game that could STILL be fake at this point. I STILL have not seen anything substantial that proves to me we are not just seeing some random concepts but an actual game. Requested a refund. Hope I'll get my money back soon, because I don't support this anymore.

1 pointCCP is no longer a contender, they are now CCU and have changed from a political party to a union. They no longer run for political office.
-
1 pointOh boy.... another delay? Yes, yes delays happen we are all fully aware. STOP GIVING DATES!!!!!! It does not build trust with your community when you continue to not deliver on what you say. I know it takes time etc.. but stop giving dates!! The only thing I can think of is that you are trying to promote your game or stay relevant in some news somewhere by giving out dates. First impressions are important and what did the vid you guys hurried out the door show us? You have MUCH further to go than everyone thinks. Take your time, make your game but please stop giving out timelines you are unable to meet.
-
1 pointMakes sense, like I said, no one likes a delay, but I think it's more about the way your PR team goes about releasing information and informing the community. Fix those issues and many of the problems in the community we currently have will probably ether lessen or go away entirely. Thank you for what you guys are doing for this game, but it's a learning curve and I wish you guys luck on getting past that.
-
1 pointI tried looking back on when I typed "cows eat grass" but i'm stumped. I have no idea as to why I wrote that or when I wrote that.
-
1 pointSaying this here as well: keep in mind that to be eligible for a refund, you should stay within the 180 days of buyers protection. Pretty sure some of you are already past that and if you are not, just check how much longer that would actually still last.
-
1 pointJust something I see popping up here... You all speak of getting refunds if <insert scenario here> happens. Keep in mind that you can no longer refund after 180 days as your buyers protection has expired by that time. Just something to keep in mind.
-
1 point1. Will the devs meet the new deadline? nobody's opinion matters on this. there is nothing out of the ordinary for game development in their development cycle. 2. Position towards the game if they delay? Not changing. All games take time 3. How should the devs fix these problems? What problems? This is normal game development.
-
1 pointI'm proud to say that I was one of the earliest supporters of the CCP, looking forward to the future.
-
1 pointWe're not waiting for the game, we're not even waiting for a beta. we're waiting for a proof that devs have actually been working on a game and not just making some 3d models and some videos.
-
1 pointYou have some fair points, but I'll add my opinion along with that. First point, I'll touch the GIF pictures. I'm not sure about the SWAT guy, but I know some of the clothing was already done a while ago, like the sheriff one. I know for sure the deer was done a long time ago already though. Remember the old trailer video with the guy hunting? But yeah, honestly I'd prefer to see more Town Square related stuff. The other stuff can wait later. Second point is about the trees. There won't be uniquely that one specific tree, but sadly I don't have any screenshots on hand to show some of the new trees, which I think I've seen a glimpse a while ago. But it's common to see birch trees being thin or larger. For example on my yard, one of the smallest one is just a few inches of diameter, while the largest (although very old) is over a foot (and a half?) large. But another thing is that there's going to be various species of trees in module one. There's also a park to walk around in. There's a post showing some nice screenshots that will give an idea how Town Square will look like, but it includes paint overs so it's definitely not the final product. Onto my third point, I'll talk about Asylum. So you've mentioned about the newborn from the lead programmer, I agree that alone shouldn't be a reason to push the release date of Town Square module, but I think there's some other reasons, play testing, server structure reinforcement, etc. Why is it a small team? Because it's not triple A... Since 2015, progress has been very slow as we probably all knew. With a very small team and small funding of a very few thousands, I would probably understand why things has been delayed. But 2017 has been the boom year, where there was a lot of people pledging for Identity, and Asylum had the opportunity to employ new developers. In fact, they always need talented people to join their team. But those people need to find out about Asylum. Sure John could probably put some advertisements which could help, and even myself was wondering where the career page was until I remember to check the Asylum Entertainment website ( http://www.asylumentertainment.ca/careers/ ). It's probably even outdated, but I'm not sure if it's Liam or John in charge of that. They could use more developers and staff with good experience, even though I think they sit at over 20 people working for Asylum. I see John as a very busy person, he's not only the CEO, but he's also a project manager and programmer. But the more people there is, the faster you'll produce as you delegate some work charge onto other employees. I mean yeah they hired a few more people, but I think it's probably not enough, if they don't want to delay stuff over and over. So after all, I totally understand the risks that I put myself into by pledging $250 into the Identity project. I've been extremely tolerant and patient, and I will still be. But I do agree that Asylum needs to straighten things out. One day, the community manager says that things seems to be on schedule so far, next day, project manager says they need an extra month. Is there a lack of communication in the team of some sort? I was very confident about the official release date, because I knew about that they've put some dates into something (I think they might have referred to a project calendar thing where they put estimated dates for all sort of tasks, which I've learned from my college course in programming and analysis). I also knew about that they mostly needed to work on bug fixing and a few other tasks. But now that they pushed the date to the 23rd of April, I think they have more than enough time to work on what they have left to do. I was saying to one of my friend that if they push it again, I might consider a refund, because it would not be normal to push an official date two times. If not, then it's all good, I'll be happy when it'll release at that time.

1 pointI'd rather get a polished game late than a buggy mess early. *COUGH* Ark, PUBG, BF4 *COUGH*

1 pointHello devs, many people probably think about getting a refund now and i really understand. The ts release is getting pushed back again and i think you should give a little bit more to the people who still believe in this project. What about giving everybody who pledged before ts comes out a little extra money? Biker and up-sized 2000$ Speed demon 4000$ VIP 8000$ What do you guys think about my suggestion?

1 pointPublic Update: Hello to anyone that is interested, I wanted to release a public statement on the status of Velocity Logistics. We are currently doing extremely well, we have a full and active board of directors who are putting a lot of effort into there roles. We also have an acceptable amount of employees at this stage, we are still hiring though you can refer to the main post for more info. We are also now very interested in partnerships and taking on more clients as well as being open to investment, me and Harry are more than happy to sit down and talk about any proposals you may bring, you can send either of us a PM. The team at Velocity Logistics is buzzing and can't wait to get into the Town Square Module, We cant wait to meet all of you and socialise on a casual and business basis. We would also like to drop a big thanks to the dev team and the forum mods for the effort they are currently putting into this game, the road has been a little rough as of late but we have the upmost faith in the whole Asylum team. - Michael Payne CEO & The Velocity Logistics Team.

1 pointYou see, I fully agree that it takes time to make games. I just don't agree with the fact that they worked their butts off for this video. It was their number 1 priority, remember? Look up videos on youtube on creating a realistic environment in unreal or unity within an hour and you'll see that this bit of environment in the vid comes awfully close to that. Also, what exact animations caused a 1 to 2 WEEK delay on the video? Because I hardly saw any. And then there is their own statement that this is all placeholder stuff.... So how the hell did they decide on showing this instead of some town square gameplay then? Since this is confirmed to be fake anyway. All of this can only bring me to one conclusion: I have still not seen ANYTHING that proves we are not just getting mockups and random props, but a real game. Game development costs time and making something of this scale and size is an immense job for such a small team, yes. But this video is literally just some hot air and was an absolute waste of time. Defending the game is not my problem. Defending this video or using this video to defend the game IS a problem imo.

1 pointGoodmorning citizens! These new screenshots of the Town Square include paint overs and images to add edits and proper realism to the final product so the TS won't essentially look like this on release, but here's some new pictures for you to enjoy as we draw closer to March 21!
