5 pointsAsylum Entertainment would like to present to you, the first look at Identity's gameplay trailer, giving you a vertical slice of what you can expect from the upcoming MMORPG
-
5 pointsThis was made as a joke from the first gameplay video for identity. I have no ill will for the devs behind the game since im a backer myself. Peace! Wait till the end
-
5 pointsHey guys I did a breakdown of the new trailer/gameplay video and I'm sure I've caught some things you might've missed! Check it out here:
-
3 points@dimin69 Well, it does say all of that those aspects are placeholders in the video description. And you're probably disappointed because it's not an actual trailer. It's an early gameplay trailer. Perhaps a bit too early. But this is what you get when the community demands things.
-
3 pointsI would love to see more videos like this (one every 2 weeks or so) showing different gameplay styles like buying something from a shop or delivering packages.
-
2 pointsNatural Disasters, they are still deciding upon but it might not make it but if it does then it will make it some time after full game release. Illness is something which the devs want to add but won't be added until after full game release. There is rain!

1 pointA Sneak PeEk Environment out-take from coming video; player-ownable farmstead I'll get right to the bits which I know you're all excited for and wondering about: the upcoming gameplay video. We'd really hoped to get it out in January, but I sit here at 10pm on the 31st finally getting time to write up this dev blog. It won't be tonight, but it's going to be really, really soon. We did run into some delays for animation content which set us back almost two weeks on the video content. The delayed art was external and out of our control, but it's all handled and now we're polishing it up to show you first-hand. It's days, not weeks, away. Around the Studio It was an incredibly busy month for everyone on the team. My last bit was consumed with ever-so-exciting annual tax preperations and hunting for new blood. Andrew's been hard at work getting the last bits of technical content for the video flushed out and Henrik has accomplished some really big things bringing the Town Square together. Prototype UI design for inventory and shop transaction As you can see above, Artur's new UI design overhall for Identity and the Town Square module is looking fantastic. After Scaleform (our old middleware for UI) was abandoned by Autodesk, we had to rebuild our UI from scratch. In hindsight I'm glad that happened as I really like our new systems much more! Also of note is a very heavy overhaul of foliage (trees, bushes, grass) and other environment bits using photogrammetry. This is a fairly new method used in creating incredibly realistic art assets. You're going to be blown away by the results our resident photogrammetry guy, Philipp, has achieved. We've begun working with another studio to hasten art development for Town Square and other parts of Identity. Some of these guys have worked with us in the past, and the art we're getting back is some of the best in the industry. Full Steam Ahead After years of effort, I have to admit it's pretty fun and exciting seeing the Town Square module coming together. In the last weeks we've both launched our development game servers on the Google Cloud as well as a working development client on Steam. Internally, we're now at a point where we can prepare for access to the game world just as you'll be experiencing it in the Town Square. With the release of Town Square, all Founder package holders are going to be issued a key to redeem Identity on Steam. Town Square will be played through Steam and your Steam friends will be able to join you in the same game instances. Committing to the Asylum Finally, after more than two years of trying, the Canadian government has granted a work visa to our Executive Producer, Sean (also known as Motown) and he's been here at the office for the last couple of weeks. We've already seen a boost in productivity having one of our key developers on site, and I'm excited to see where it leads! There's still some room in the office, though. We're looking for talented technical artists, Unreal Engine generalists and animators especially, but we always love to meet talented individuals no matter their field of expertise! If you, or someone you know, would be interested in working for Asylum, check out our careers page. The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday. We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. This is the best place to get to know the fine details Identity!

1 pointRP STORY OF VITO PALLAZZOLO Born Vittorio Pallazzolo in Bari, southern Italy, a few streets away from Carmelo Barbero and Frank Luprano's relatives. He was son of a construction manager with long work days and poor payment. Vito's father, Alfonso Palazzolo, was also an amateur boxer who was a strong head of the family. Vito loved boxing as well, just like his father and was not afraid of blood. Slowly, step after step, his mother, Luciana Palazzolo (name meaning: light) strove to achieve her life goals; becoming a mathematic-teacher (she loved the handling of numbers and people) and having self-employment, she was always devoting her energy and time to new areas of income: no matter if it was real estate, precious metals, precious stones, new business investments and taking advantage of untapped business niches (bakery in a place, where people need one...). Vito Palazzolo had a great mix between the endeavor of logical thinking, independent education and hard work. His father died early at a work accident. This layed a huge amount of responsibility on Vito. He was forced to become an adult and his mother was overwhelmed with this situation. She gave Vito a huge amount of money – just in hope he wouldn't see her falling deeper and deeper :she threw her money away, drunk during the daytime and losing her discipline to keep her business running. One day she bought wine in a gas station, was drunk, happy, laughing, and walked out into the street, not watching the traffic into a car, which put her body in the oncoming traffic and she was hit by a truck. Vito got his master in chemistry at the age of 22. It was a great balancing act between the research of new areas (drugs), improving the process of known drugs and the legal work in the laboratory as a researcher (not well paid, but a safe place). Vito quickly recognized that the changing of the world begins with him: He had to see: In problems the freedom of decision. In decisions - their consequences and possible outcomes. In errors - learning and trying again with a better start - which in turn lead to success. He will always be as modest as his mother, no one will ever know how much power and money is working in the background. The security over money stands: Dead people are not able to spend their million of dollars. You should work as hard as possible without putting yourself in danger, think in larger time intervals, and let the money work for you. Discipline daily to work on future goals was vital for Vito. The way you present yourself, your appearance, gestures, facial expression - is your self-confidence. Vito acknowledged three key questions in his day to day business; What is time-consuming? What is profit? What is dangerous? Protecting the family is the most important: therefore he had no problems to sell his drugs in foreign countries. He was not a gun nut, they were only a means for the purpose; protection and solving “problems”. He always solves his problems personally, if necessary, with his hands. He was quick to realize that he could not achieve everything on his own, so he joined the Luprano family through connections in Bari, and eventually came over to the island, after proving his loyalty during various tasks. With the first orders he realized quickly that violence did not irritate him, he could shoot people without hesitation but the thrill of making money with his mind is what gave him his adrenaline rush.Vito wanted to work for the office of the consigliere, which seemed to him in an unachievable distance, but was his goal. Due to his negotiating skills, the nickname "Snake" was awarded to him. He can judge people well and therefore also manipulate well psychologically. He was a great actor, even to people to whom he desires death; he could surrender and be friendly and, if necessary, give the death penalty - which made him an unpredictable weapon. His enemies can not look into him, but their are feeling of him has to be fully illuminated. He was struggling to move to the next step as early as possible, he had a healthy balance between philosophy and action. Now his attitude and skills in life keep all doors open for him.

1 pointIt's been awhile since I've posted but I was curious to what everyone thought about the new video. So here's a poll: My personal opinion of the video is that for the amount of money and time spent for this one video it was poorly done, the acting was unnecessary and it was too short. This is my personal opinion and you are absolutely entitled to your own personal beliefs. If you haven't watched it yet here's the link then vote;

1 pointHere's the video if you've somehow missed it: The official Discord totally blew up after this video was released. With people not understanding the concept of placeholders and demanding a refund. Here's a direct quote from a part of the video description: What this means, that most of what is terrible in this video is NOT THE FINAL VERSION, and will most likely change. Edit: Oh, and this is a "GAMEPLAY TRAILER", not a "TRAILER". The difference here is that it's not showing a final product, but what you can expect the game play to be like. With that out of the way, let's get down to some constructive criticism. Because, why else would I bother making this thread, right? Let's start with the good, then the bad, then my notes. I'm not gonna touch on any of the placeholder subjects. The good - Decently ok graphics. But does it have to be, if the gameplay is good enough? - Seems to be decently optimized, never dips bellow 60 FPS. Though, we'll have to wait till the Town Square to see if that is really the case. - The interaction system in our vehicle / surroundings seems neat. I really like how you can sit in side of your car, and look around freely. And interact with objects, such as the computer. - The drug making process seems to actually require some effort. With interactions. The bad - The camera appears "stuck" behind the character. In a fixed position. I don't know if this counts as animations, probably not. But I would prefer to be able to freely look around in third person camera, by default. Like in normal MMO's. And then, lock the camera behind you, or something, when you aim your gun in third person. - The police computer UI could probably use some more work. It feels like something that would be relevant back in 1999. Al though, to be fair. I have never actually seen such a computer IRL. So maybe that is what they look like? - The interaction wheel. I mean, it's nice and all. But I've never come across one that works well with mouse & keyboard, and which gives me proper control of what I want to select, or even lets me know what each option is. My notes I went into the video expecting nothing. i knew people have been asking for a video a lot lately. And a lot of other drama recently with toxicity when the video didn't reach the first estimation. And it feel like it may have been rushed. I would have been fine with waiting another week, or more. But I don't blame them for getting it out this early. Overall, I feel the the video is quite terrible. But when I go into a deeper analysis. Ignoring what is obviously placeholders, as previous mentioned. My list of good out weights the list of bad. Those items on the list are only what I can think of right now. Maybe you'd have your own items you'd like to add? Let's discuss what you liked, or didn't like in the video. And try and provide some valid criticism in the process? Instead of saying "It's bad hurr durr.", try saying "It's bad, and here's why...". And obviously try and avoid topics that's clearly a placeholder.

1 pointThe vehicle stuff was made purely for the video. It is a place holder. It will be changed for module 3. That feature won't be done until a later period of the game.

1 pointim glad to FINALLY see some gameplay and action i have been wondering what it would be like for the longest...i think it looks great but in the video game world you can never expect great things when the game is in development...these people are working as hard as possible and i personally appreciate it...keep up the good works guys!!! <3

1 pointVideo was great but I think a lot of people including myself were hoping for around 5 minutes, that's not to say I'm ungrateful for what we've been given but I'm hoping the town square will be even better
-
1 point"Smoke weed everyday", sorry that song just popped in my mind. You'll be able to grow weed on farm lands by the way. I guess we'll have to wait quite some time before we see footage, if they'll show it before the full Beta.

1 pointGeneral Crimson swings the door wide open as it makes a huge BANG hitting the wall. He is accompanied with two other Templar's and General J. Williams. The lights turns on and the propaganda film turns off. The two Templar’s stop behind Officer McKenzie and Crimson and Williams walk around to the front of her. “So still being stubborn I see..” General Crimson says pulling his hood down from his helmet to the back and then places his hands behind his back. “We are trying to make you one of us and you reject ever thing!” General Williams says as he looks over at Crimson. “This disappoints me McKenzie, you could have been something great, and a general to lead our Saviors to victory…” Crimson says shaking his head. “Well you leave me no choice as I have others that will obey…so…” He looks over at his Templar’s and nods to them. “ Take her to the prison camp, put her on grave digging duty with just enough food to keep her going for the day.” The two Templar’s nod and unhook her from the chair grabbing her by the arms and lifting her up out of the chair to carry her out of the isolation chamber to the prison camp. Crimson looks over at Williams as the two Templar’s and McKenzie leave. “I want a guard no her at all times as she digs the graves, and when she breaks bring her to me." General Crimson says as Williams Nods. “Yes My Lord…shall I inform the Commander of our recruits?” Crimson shakes his head. “No I need to talk to him myself in person.” General Williams eye widen. “But my lord no one is allowed to talk to the Commander face to face…” Crimson looks to the door as a Savior (your Red caps as you call them) walks into the isolation chamber. “Only I can talk to the Commander face to face this is our mission General..” The Savior stop waiting for them to stop talking as General Williams nods and then slams his fist into his chest “For the Order” and walks out. The Savior Soldier looks back at General Crimson. "Sir the Templar's Weapons have arrived, and placed in the Templar's Chambers Sir." Crimson nods as the Savior slams his fist into his chest. "For The Order!" and spins around and walks out of the isolation chamber. Crimson follows and walks to the Templar's chamber. After a couple minutes General Crimson walks into the Templar's chamber. There is a lot of other Templar's that are there as they are all on their knees. Crimson walks towards the weapons crate that is under the Templar's Cross. He opens the crate and reaches in pulling a sword with a cross at the end of the handle. He turns around as the Templar's rises to their feet seeing the sword that General Crimson is wielding. "My Brothers and Sisters, our Swords of fate have arrived. Come receive your gift from the our god." Crimson turns around and takes a step back. He slams the sword into the ground and kneels before the sword and the cross as he lowers his head. The other Templar's would grab their swords and return to where they were stand and did the same thing that Crimson did. ( @Norway174 Yeah I got it. It worked out well for you the way you did it. Enjoy your days and night in the Cold snow covered land digging graves )

1 point1) Car and house prices will vary based on quality. There are cheaper options and expensive options. From bicycles and apartments to luxury vehicles and houses. 2) Likely no 'super cars' but it's possible so long as it's fitting with the actual modern day. Limos will be for the governor. Not sure if other players can obtain that vehicle. 3) There will be no NPC AI aside from pets. No bodyguards that means. You can hire a real player as one but they still will be marked as wanted for killing. We are looking into ways to filter out self defense from the game's criminal act detection system. 4) I believe there are police radio frequencies. 5) I think you can do permadeaths in private servers, but nothing like funerals. 6) There will never be air vehicles added to the game as it allows players to skip the social interactions of going from one place to the other. 7) There will be no military as there is simply no use of it. In the real world, the military isn't legally allowed to respond to crimes like bank robberies and such. They're more for serving and protecting the land as a whole which simply isn't a possible job/role in the game. 8) There will be an airport for cosmetic purposes but not for flight lessons or anything. Just aesthetic. There may come a time where this changes if DLC is made, in which case you can transport between islands at the airport, but it's still far too early to say if DLC will ever make it to the game. 9) While there will be no physical keys, there is a mechanic where you can lend a friend the 'keys' to your vehicle, allowing them to drive it temporarily. This is made this way to prevent players from stealing the vehicle. They won't have ownership of it, they'll just be able to drive. 10) You can hijack cars. But remember, they are all real players' vehicles. You will never be able to sell or keep these vehicles. They will always respawn back in the owner's garage after despawning from the world. 11) Bait cars sound cool, but it'd be impractical for a video game. If a player is committing a crime they likely already have a getaway planned. It's one of those features that sound neat on paper, but likely would never play out positively in a video game. 12) You can mug players as well as shoplift and rob banks. The grandest of crime though will be robbing the Federal Reserve. 13) There will be police dispatch. 14) Police will never be able to tell who is wanted by just looking at the player (unless they remember the suspects appearance). They will have a laptop in which they can see if a specific player is registered as being 'wanted.' 15) Pretty sure everyone has an ID that can never be removed from their inventory. 16) There will be no children. You cannot adopt a child, play as a child, or have a child. While you can get married, if the marriage is straight there will be no baby making regardless. We want the game to be safe for people to record on YouTube and Twitch. All players will be adults. 17) Books are all player written, so there is no way to really 'gain perks' or anything. You can maybe read a guide book a player has made however and learn something new. 18) There will be restaurants. Not sure about drive-thrus and fast food though. 19) No power companies (besides for aesthetic purposes if any) or jobs like plumbing and such. 20) If I remember correctly, the police chief rank is only obtainable on private servers. Not 100% sure about that though. 21) There might be agents but I don't entirely recall, nor do I know 100% how their job would play out. 22) You don't run for president, but instead the governor. Players can advertise their selves to gain popularity and such. Come the voting time, players will cast votes for who to be the new governor. 23) No undercover cops. If they were in game, every police officer would do it. It's just too overpowered and unfair because crime is a real part of the game that we want to keep in place. It's freedom of the player if they want to live by the law or go against it. 24) There will be bounty hunting but it will require a lot of manual work. You won't be told the criminals location or anything. That's for the player to gather intel about and figure out themselves. 25) There will be a court, but it's only purpose is for prisoners pleeing for an early release. Some crimes might be justified, such as a killing in self defense, in which players can see a player as guilty or not guilty in a criminal case. If the player is voted not guilty they will be released from jail early. 26) You can not play as pets. 27) The game currently costs $15 to buy and $30 to purchase will access to early builds. This will increase somewhere in the $45 dollar range in the future. It will not be free to play. 28) There will likely never be a demo. 29) You can watch YouTube and Twitch on the TVs. 30) There will be no TV channels as there is no easy way to tackle this. It also will cost performance which we do not want jeopardize. 31) News can be written by players in the newspaper. 32) There are rain storms but nothing extreme like tornadoes or hurricanes or anything. 33) Vehicles are not player-made. They can be customized though. 34) There will be beach homes.
-
1 pointThe micro transactions right now are meant to be purely cosmetic and only a select few apartments, they aren't meant to give you any advantage, apartments are mainly for storage and customizing the interior, so we feel it's not really a big deal. We dislike micro transactions just like the rest of you.

1 pointI was wondering if anyone knew if I could sell books i write. i was going to try and make a bookstore if possible. i just hope books aren't just for the library. If anyone knows if we can sell books please let me know.

1 pointTyping on my keyboard/computer, start bashing the person next to me until no keys are left on the board. I would like to see a similar thing to condemned in the game, where when you rum out of ammo you can turn the gun around a use it to bash people.
-
1 pointIf so, using anything you can grab should be integrated into the game. Drink my cup of coffee, or smash my half cup upon a dome piece? Play pool, or beat somebody with it til it breaks? While carrying my brief case to work, it turns into a tooth removal kit? Just a thought.
