2 pointsWell it could be me, but sending the 'do your homework instead of gaming' post prior to some kind of release of this game is a bit premature? I mean I experienced a project like this before, delay delay delay, no dates given (poor project planning) and ending up canceled. And that was a game from EA.. So I would say deliver first before you are warning people about actually spending time playing. Also if I'm allowed to give you one tip: Pick a goddamn date and build a hype around it. It is called pre-launch marketing. Not doing this shows not having a marketing team at all. (I'm hyped for this game, so I express my enthusiasm in frustration)

2 pointsHappy Holidays From Asylum! The holidays are upon us, and the team at Asylum begins their short rest! We've been busier than ever, and this coming January is shaping up to be one of our biggest months in a very long time, if not ever. Our expanded team has been working hard on game features beyond the Town Square, and you're finally going to be getting a glimpse of true Identity gameplay very soon in the new year; that's just the start. Keeping it Real Primary systems in Identity such as weapons and vehicles are being developed to operate as realistically as possible. Last week a few of the developers braved the freezing temperatures at a local range to record audio directly from a slew of real firearms in all sorts of conditions. It's very important to us that the weapons in Identity look, sound and react as close to reality as possible. We've even modeled the ballistic physics based on real-world mathematical formulas. Powerful weapons are going to be rare in Identity. Assault weapons, for example, will likely be used in major circumstances. For the most part players will have access to less powerful weaponry; melee, hand guns, hunting rifles, and so on will be the norm. Here it Comes! With the Town Square development moving along, we're not far off from showing the world real Identity gameplay! Like I said up there, January is going to be a big month. For us in the studio, we're excited to get our hands on a few new technology demos that might have a huge impact on Identity! For our fans, January is going to be the month you see the first true world gameplay video. Not only that, but soon after we're looking to release a Town Square trailer! Keep your eyes out on Identity's Twitter and Facebook. The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday (except on this coming week due to holidays). We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. This is the best place to get to know the fine details Identity! -- John VanderZwet

2 pointsSee the thing about a Serial Killer and why I think it could be really interesting is this. If they're role playing as a serial killer they should never put that anywhere in their Bio. hell they should straight up lie outright in any bio's they make, The character they portray is just that a character. So in game you could have your character be Johnny Busdriver right. spend the game being friendly. driving your bus. making friends role playing your ass off. But...some nights you take yourself away from your friends, your family, your day to day. you go to a different town, you dress completely different you get your hair done or dyed temporarily. You act how you don't act "at home" you meet people out and about, you gain their trust. maybe you have a spot outside of town. you get them drunk or high )however those systems in game work_ and you take advantage tying them up, trapping them away from home, they don't really know you, don't know your face, the voice you're using now is completely fake till you get them alone. And it's still different from the voice you use "at home" yourself. You take your time you finish them off at your leisure. maybe it's a few "days" in game later of you actively RPing with this person. If you did it well the "Victim" could have just as enjoyable an experience as the killer. then the victim is killed. you dump the body or evidence (which I really hope is somehow in the game. so your hideaway isn't just a blinking murder scene to the cops) and the police find the evidence. A case for them to inspect. They never find you. it goes cold in the months as Johnny Busdriver has BBQs with his buddies back home. Till a few months later when a new case pops up for the cops in a different town, or the same town who knows. I don't know the killers M.O There's a LOT you could do with a serial killer character. I've never once thought of it as just an excuse to RDM. I mean really. why would a killer even use a gun? it's not personal enough for them usually. Just imagine after months of real time of the cops not finding this killer. In game years can pass and his list goes up. the killer gets braver leaves notes, enjoys hearing about himself on the player run radio shows all types of things. Then imagine the cops thinking they found the person and a big uproar happens. But ti's not the guy. It'd be the OJ trial from back in the 90s big following. strong RP. make use of reporter characters, judges, politicians would go nuts trying to spin the capture and imprisonment to their name. But then imagine if they put away a guy and the killings keep happening. In a strong RP server a character could be in Jail for a long time in game. is it a copycat? did they get the wrong guy? Fun times.

1 pointPlease welcome the volunteer forum moderators that will be assisting Identity's Community staff in its day to day operations! This team has been specially selected from the Identity forums for their reputation for remaining unbiased during forum discussions, and for their interests in making a difference within the Identity community. However, some of these individuals may be recognized as volunteer Administrators from Asylum Entertainment's "Asylum Altis Life," a modification for ArmA 3, and are trusted to continue the renowned work that they have become known for. Each member of Identity's volunteer forum staff has their own unique personality and moderation style. We hope that you will get your first taste of who these individuals are from this introduction topic. Thank you for being a part of the Identity community!

1 pointWe at Asylum Entertainment are very excited to tell you, our community, how you will be able to get into the game sooner than you think! Identity's modules are small portions of Identity which will be released before Identity is ready for the world. This lets you experience part of the game months sooner than otherwise possible. The first module you'll be getting your hands on is a social environment which we've called Town Square. The Town Square will include all major social components, and will allow you to finally create and customize your characters. You can meet hundreds of new people and explore several cool features of the peaceful city life. For more details on Town Square, check out the modules page on the Identity website. Following the release of Town Square you'll experience SWAT player versus player action and eventually vehicle races of all sorts. We'll be bringing you more information on the modules as they progress!

1 pointI see this shit, makes me mad, build hype like 2 years in advance and everyone hyped from announcement died down, and then I don't even have an ETA for how long that beta is gonna be after the modules so no clue if the $30 package is even worth it, not to mention its a scam IMO because you pay $15 and don't even get beta access, that should be the base game. Thats a cash grab, the devs seem to be working well but fuck the dude behind that shit, wastin my time and money

1 pointIm very excited for the release of the gameplay video, new website and then in march the town square! Got a friend of mine to buy the founder package yesterday to gain access to everything when launched. Can't wait to play the game with my friends! Hope the devs can make the game like they claim they are making it because if they can realise that, this game is so changing and leaps in front of other games!

1 pointMy stupid self thought SEA was an acronym for something and I was so confused *facepalm* Then I read your actual post and I realised what you meant

1 pointYesterday afternoon, for another Identity Insider, we've released a video detailing the workings of player housing in Identity and what it has to offer at our present point in development. This gives you a good idea of the level of fidelity we're going for in all of our key systems, and more videos will follow as we continue. Housing was chosen for our first video as our initial focus in development is for features present in the upcoming Town Square module. If you haven't already seen the video, check it out above. Housing as you've seen in the video is an excellent place to hang out with friends, but it has a lot of good practical uses, too! First, housing is the primary storage location for items you've collected. Whether it's a bookshelf full of books, a gun-rack with wall-mounted guns, or a crate full of junk, it's sort of like a bank for tangible stuff. Housing is also valuable for moderate crafting, too. Some advanced recipes might require a factory, but a lot of stuff can be created at your home using special crafting tables. A hydroponics table can even be used to grow small-scale plants, legal or otherwise!

1 pointHey everyone, I'm Brendan, I'm currently a senior in high school taking a programming class and 3D modeling course with high hopes to go into the gaming industry in the future. I've been gaming ever since I was about 5 or 6. I've always loved video games and the world that it put you in. By the age of 13 I bought my first PC and gamed on it for about 2 years, After working part-time I save up money and built my new Gaming PC which is what I use now. After switching to PC I will never go back to consoles! Once I built that computer I installed all my software for 3D modeling and have been creating different projects to store in a portfolios for future job applications, by late 2016 I hope to apply for an internship at Gearbox Software (Creators of Borderlands) to improve my knowledge of the gaming industry. Thanks for checking out my introduction and I hope to see you guys around!
