Hello everyone, I am here to ask the simple question: is infobroking a legitimate line of work in Identity? I say yes. Infobroking is the art of being that sneaky snake no-one likes, but no-one messes with. They have “dirt” on everybody, from political figures to petty criminals. “Dirt” meaning information that could tarnish their reputation, street cred, or mental well-being. A politician is crooked? Sell that sh*t to his competitor! A crime boss killed your partner? Tell the police everything and hide in a hole for the rest of your life! To me, it all seems like a plausible line of work in identity, especially because the police can’t do anything to you! Unless you get caught stalking, but that isn’t my fault. However, I want to know what the Identity Community has to say about this! Do you agree with me, or do you hate my guts for considering the possibility of infobroking? Please do leave a comment with your honest opinion. Sincerely, Tristan “Murderface” Locke

To build on this... Taking something and just reuploading it, or streaming it, does NOT count as fair use. Taking something, and changing it, using different clips mixed in with your own content, providing your own commentary on top. Like, a reaction video using clips from the original video, IS fair use. (See the h3h3Productions vs. Matt Hoss case.) As for proof, literally go to any video. Open the description, and check the "License" field. Most videos tend to use the "Standard YouTube License", which you can find in the YouTube terms of service. Or just Google it. Some videos may have another license, if the license allows you to reupload or stream it, then by all means.

Norways right, the shows on yt might be specially licenced and the uploader has rights to upload it. The only way to stream something that's copyrighted by someone else without permission is if it fits in the fair use act.

Just letting everyone know a buff is something good and a debuff/nerf is something bad

I believe you can report players yes and you can on both official and private servers. Official servers not sure how it will be dealt with as of now but likely a dev will look into it and on a private server it will be up to the people selected to moderate/ administrate to deal with issues

Take the "estimated release date" and multiply by 5x and subtract 1 day - that is the release date. Ez life.

Yes, you're able to upgrade your package, but please keep in mind that the prices will increase with the new website, and the website will be updated before module one (21st March 2018). Also some early-bird packages will be completely removed from the store. Before the new website gets launched we will notify everyone and so that you have the chance to upgrade your package before that.

Clearly you have your views, but I have qualifications in business and I can tell you that every single person would rather the free $10,000 than a $500,000 valuation. Even if you have the valuation correct, most people will not be comfortable with giving up 50% of their business because they immediately lose a significant amount of scalability and potential. As a matter of fact, small businesses will be more reluctant to give up 50% of their business because they are more than likely going to grow in the future. Imagine someone buys a business and pays $100 for 100 shares as the sole shareholder. You could offer them $500 for 50 shares (decuple their original valuation), but they still will not take it because they know that more than likely within a year their business will be worth more than the proposed $1000 valuation. The same thing applies. Let me paint an example. A small retail business turns over just over $100,000 in annual turnover in their 4th week of trading in Identity. Of that, they have profited $30,000 (the average profit for a retail business is 30%). They hear about your programme and decide to take a shot at winning the grand prize of $250,000. The $250,000 that you propose will be an investment of 2.5x their annual turnover, but they also have to give up 50% of their business to you. Assuming they use your $250,000 to invest the same in the next 4 weeks, by the same calculations we can work out that from the original $250,000 spent, they will turnover approximately $325,000. Of that turnover, the profits will be $97,500. The small business in question has increased their profits 3 fold, but they have had to give up 50% of their business for it. Why would they give up 50% when in reality, the chances are it won't take long to increase your profits 3 fold anyway. I don't think you really understand how business works, but that isn't such a great deal for any business. It's why Alan Sugar doesn't take part of the companies that compete for an investment. The small business would be more inclined to take the $10,000 participation money, which is 10% of their entire annual income, and walk away with 100% of their business. I think you have the attitude that the small business should be privileged to be having your investment, when the reality is you have no expertise, no experience, nothing to show for all of your claims and the big point I should make is that this is an equally valuable deal for both parties. You can't make people work for an investment only to take 50% of their company when they win. Especially small businesses who are going to want to keep as much equity as possible in order to leave doors open for future investments. If the small business really did want to give up 50% of their company, they will find a real investor and make a pitch. Why would they go on a show to try and win an investment when literally anyone with the money would do this deal. As I said, you are making people win the olympics for an opportunity to buy the gold medal. If you have to work for a prize, you should get the prize. You shouldn't have to work for it, then pay for it. Why not host this show, and take no equity in the companies, like the real life show does. This way, people will actually be inclined to want to come on your show. Again, it is a good idea in theory, but the way you have proposed this is pretty horrible and it needs work.

Happy Holidays From Asylum! The holidays are upon us, and the team at Asylum begins their short rest! We've been busier than ever, and this coming January is shaping up to be one of our biggest months in a very long time, if not ever. Our expanded team has been working hard on game features beyond the Town Square, and you're finally going to be getting a glimpse of true Identity gameplay very soon in the new year; that's just the start. Keeping it Real Primary systems in Identity such as weapons and vehicles are being developed to operate as realistically as possible. Last week a few of the developers braved the freezing temperatures at a local range to record audio directly from a slew of real firearms in all sorts of conditions. It's very important to us that the weapons in Identity look, sound and react as close to reality as possible. We've even modeled the ballistic physics based on real-world mathematical formulas. Powerful weapons are going to be rare in Identity. Assault weapons, for example, will likely be used in major circumstances. For the most part players will have access to less powerful weaponry; melee, hand guns, hunting rifles, and so on will be the norm. Here it Comes! With the Town Square development moving along, we're not far off from showing the world real Identity gameplay! Like I said up there, January is going to be a big month. For us in the studio, we're excited to get our hands on a few new technology demos that might have a huge impact on Identity! For our fans, January is going to be the month you see the first true world gameplay video. Not only that, but soon after we're looking to release a Town Square trailer! Keep your eyes out on Identity's Twitter and Facebook. The Twitch Clips If you've been following Identity's development closely, you probably already know that developers stream their work live on the Identity Twitch channel every Tuesday and Thursday (except on this coming week due to holidays). We also use that time to answer almost every question that gets asked about Identity's development and gameplay. Now that we've been doing this a while, we've answered a lot of questions. Our awesome community manager, BeachBall, has taken the time to compile a massive list of questions linked to clips where they're answered by a developer. Get comfy and head over to the Twitch Clips Directory forum thread. If you haven't found this already, be prepared to spend a good bit of time listening to all sorts of awesome information. This is the best place to get to know the fine details Identity! -- John VanderZwet

As much as I like the idea, what you are offering isn't worth it to us business people. I am sure we could find someone willing to invest for significantly less than 50% of our company. If we have to compete to win, the prize should be a no strings attached cash prize. Otherwise, I would rather find a private investor who would hand me the same amount you are offering for less than 50%.

The game will be translated at full release and not before as it is easier to translate it all at once into many different languages instead of doing it as they go along.

Hello citizens! I'm Motown, and I'm Identity's Community Manager, the person in charge of delivering all of your important ideas and messages to Identity's development team! What's special about my role here is that I'm not just your eyes and ears, I'm also one-half of the founding team for Identity! John Vanderzwet and I set out together to make Identity a reality, and have been involved in every aspect of Identity's development since the very start. That means, through me (and our volunteer moderator staff), you have direct access to the very top of our family tree, and we can influence the design and development of Identity together! You won't get that sort of treatment from many industry CM's! So, If you have ideas that you feel will expand and define Identity for years to come, let me know, and I will make sure it hits the right ears. What a relief it has been to know that so many people have been waiting for a game like Identity for so long. I couldn't be happier to have the opportunity to be the liaison that will connect you with the world of Identity and the wonderful people who make it what it is! We strongly feel that we have a winning formula, and the deepest conviction that we may revolutionize the MMORPG genre with your support! We're going to do a lot of great things together, so it's only fair that you know a little bit about me first! My name is Sean, I'm 27 years old. My best friend is my boss and co-worker, John Vanderzet. I grew up all over the United States where I've developed the hyperactive, happy, and unbiased personality you will come to know me for! I call Ontario, Canada my temporary home while I work on Identity as your Community Manager, interim Art Director and 3D prop artist. I went to college for Video Game Design & Production, but my true passion is interacting with people! I've been a forum moderator for many large and well-known online gaming communities, including a default subreddit of 8 million subscribers on Reddit.com, a volunteer guide of the Followers of Asura in "Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures", an event organizer in "Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa" (Big RG fan btw!), the only English forum moderator of a German FPS called "Parabellum" (Google Translate ftw!), and forum moderator for "Planetside 1", "GamersFirst", "Mortal Online", and a few others I can't even remember, for varying lengths of time! Yep, I get around! But now it's time I get to know a little bit about you too. Create a new topic in this forum, and introduce yourself! We want to know exactly what personalities come out of the the deep, dark, depths of the internet to share our passion for Identity! But be nice!

I didn't take it seriously, I just thought I would throw a serious question in there. I wasn't expecting a answer.
