1 pointThe time draws near! In the last dev blog I sent out, I mentioned that we were going to announce the release date for our first playable game module, the Town Square. Those of you who follow our Twitter and Twitch streams will have already learned this date. It's a very exciting and important time for Identity; we're fast approaching the time where you'll first step foot in Identity's grand world. We've crunched all the numbers and can now say with fair confidence that the Identity Town Square module will be released, to all backers with a $30 or higher pledge, on this coming March 21st. What will you find in the Town Square? The Town Square is a social game module. You'll be able to create your character, which may be transferable to the retail game after release, and meet hundreds of other Identity backers in the town square of the clean and quaint city of Ash Hill. You'll be able to talk to those around you, add them to your phone contacts and have full phone and IM support to stay in touch. You'll find a completely functional cinema playing full movies around the clock, a karaoke bar to show off your skills (or see me making a fool of myself), a working restaurant, art gallery, shops and more. The biggest single feature is the housing system. You're getting a taste of the full and complete player housing mechanics that you'll find in Identity. Everyone will have access to a tiny apartment, but those who pledged for higher rewards will be able to check out and decorate their larger spaces. It's a preview of what you'll have in the full game. Invite friends to your place and party it up! After the initial release of the module, we'll continue to add features to the Town Square as they are completed in development for Identity. Barbershops and tattoo parlors will let you customize your character further. A garage will let you sample your vehicles. You'll even get to test your ability with firearms in the police shooting range before the SWAT module is released. For me, one of the most exciting parts of Town Square is just to get inside the game and finally get a feel for Identity and how it plays. Check out a few of the Town Square work-in-progress shots we've released in the past. It's been a long road for the development team here at Asylum, but we're almost there! Flexing our new manpower Productivity has skyrocketed with our new office. We're working better and there are now many more of us knocking out code and assets each day. Our programming team has expanded with Charles and we're still hiring more. We've brought three new and incredibly talented 3D artists on board as well as a new technical artist. Brandon, our new Community Manager, has been hard at work keeping you in the loop. These guys are all proving their worth each day and I'm extremely excited about where Asylum is going. Looking to the future With some of our Town Square art wrapping up now, we're beginning to shift a bit of our focus to the second module: SWAT. The SWAT module will be a team vs team competitive shooter using the combat mechanics you'll find in the full Identity release. Expect combat to be slower and more realistic than most similar games. You'll learn much more about this module as work progresses. Above is an MP5 sub machinegun which will be used by the SWAT forces. This particular model was created from scratch in a matter of days by one of our new artists, Dan. The awesome talent of our art team is undeniable! -- John VanderZwet

1 pointThe Ruomunda We are the Ruomunda. A proud people with roots going all the way back to the 16th century. We are a tribe of honor and survival. Our people stick to our lands and will defend them with our lives. We will uphold our traditionS with pride. One thing to keep in mind is we are not a Native American Tribe. Our tribe is made up of many different mixed ethnicities. History Our people begin with the colony of Roanoke. Our ancestors sailed to the land now called North Carolina in 1585 from England. Our leader, Sir Walter Reilegh, founded Roanoke. Our people lived on that Island though it was not entirely peaceful. There was bad blood between our people and the local tribes. Combined with our lack of supplies we were struggling to survive. After some amount of time, more people sailed to Roanoke but this didn't help. A man named John White agreed to sail back to our ancestral homelands for food and other necessities. However, a short while after he left, we were attacked by a local tribe and driven from Roanoke Island. In an event, we call Tra Graos Swikevmes (The Great Swim) our people swam all the way to This Island (Identity Island). See many people believe that Roanoke Colony simply were killed. We know the true story. Upon our arrival to the island, we were taken in by the local native tribe. Our cultures and languages mixed. We became the Rokanoka. Eventually, settlers arrived at Identity Island buy our tribe had peaceful relations with them. By this time our tribe had completely merged together as a semi-culture. Our people traded and even had children with the settlers. Then with the African Slaves being brought to the Americas, our people actually bought them. However, instead of owning them, they became assimilated into our tribe. Their cultures also mixing with ours. Eventually, the settlers grew bold and began to cause harm to our land and our people, so we fell back into hiding. We had several small wars with the settlers of our Island but we knew the land and was relatively victorious. As our tribe grew and mixed our name evolved. Due to language, our name eventually became the Ruomunda. During the formation of the 13 Colonies, more people moved to the Island. Our tribe was relatively ignored though we still occasionally traded with the local colony and even traveled to the mainland for trading. Sometimes our people would take slaves with us that wanted to escape. During the revolutionary war, our people aided the colony against the Redcoats that invaded our Island. Some of them Surrendered and were assimilated into our tribe as slaves. After that our people, for the most part, kept to themselves. Our numbers growing more and more. Our people spread around the Island forming smaller bands, however, we still were proud of our heritage and were loyal and connected to each other. Then around the Civil War when states were deciding to join the Union or the Confederacy, there was a dilemma. For the most part, our people were against slavery save for the war prisoners that were eventually integrated into the society. Considering the Ruomunda had black people and the tribe as a whole was mixed. Just like how the mainland split into the North and the South so did we. The southern Ruomuda joined with the Confederates and were given supplies and slaves to help aid the fight against Union Loyalties in the Island. The Southern Ruomuda had an influx of Confederate soldiers come in to help them fight. In the year 1864, the Confederate Ruomunda managed to defeat the Northern Ruomunda. The Northern Ruomunda didn't receive help from the Union and therefore was eventually defeated. After that, the Ruomunda often traded with the Mainland and bought many slaves and supplies from the Mainland. They even traded the war prisoners of the Northern Ruomunda. When the union defeated the Confederacy, the Identity Island was mostly left alone. With slavery being abolished, we couldn't trade slaves but we still owned slaves. The freed people of the local towns on the Identity Island either assimilated into the tribe, were taken as slaves to the tribe, moved on, or stayed with the towns. For years slavery existed within our people. As we began to spread out again, we again formed semi bands. Although we were still unified, different leaders of the bands arose. Although being a known tribe to the local towns, we were never bothered by the local government. We stayed in the forests and hills. We still occasionally traded. In the year 1934, a leader of a rather powerful band of Ruomunda arose. Her name was Charlovta Unojo. She sought out to end slavery within the Ruomunda. She formed alliances with the other bands in an attempt to unify their cause but was killed while she was sleeping in an unknown tribal. As the years went on, however, slavery slowly faded. Either they were accepted into the tribe as Ruomundans or they escaped to the nearby towns. In the year 1958. when slavery was almost completely gone, My grandfather introduced a revolutionary way of thinking. "Why should we enslave our own?" "It was the settlers that came to our land." "They live on our land, and therefore they are ours." From then on we took back what was rightfully ours. People. We would take locals and take them for our tribe. They would work the land for us, provide us with children that we would accept into our tribe. We prospered. We took what was ours. Our population grew. My grandfather unified the Ruomunda once and for all. No longer were there little bands of us. We had an entire community. From that point on my bloodline lead the Ruomunda. When my grandfather died, my father took his place. My name is Joahn Togalvi I was born in 1992. I grew up on Ruomunda lands. Life was simple, we stayed in our lands. Would occasionally take some people as our slaves but for the most part, we didn't have to. 6 months ago I noticed a great number of people moving onto our island. My father wanted to go into hiding but I saw an opportunity. To grow, to prosper. So I cut my fathers head off, making me the leader of the Ruomunda. I will lead our people to glory. We are the Ruomunda. This is our story. Aspects of the Ruomunda Ethnicity- The Ruomunda are a mixed group of people. Arguably their own ethnic group. However, the Ruomuda are very diverse with a variety of different phenotypes. Looks will vary depending on that particular tribal's ancestry. Religion- The Ruomunda don't have a particular religion but rather have strong general spiritual beliefs. Our island is a living being. Birthed from Yemoa. (Yemoa is derived from Yemoja, Orisha of water) Yemoa is the ocean. Our Earth is Goavve. (Goavve means God) Goavve created Yemoa (the water) and Yemoa gave birth to life. We believe when we die, we become Goavve. We become the Earth. Language- The Ruomuda speak mostly Broken English with some words either being derived from another language or being their own word entirely. Words like his or my aren't really used (Him decided that him wanted me Knife so him took it) You can play around with your english. Just make it sound like you would have failed English class. Traditions- Once a month, we kill someone in the water as an offering to Yemoa. It was she that allowed our ancestors to safely swim to this island. Therefore we "feed" her with sacrifices. Usually, the sacrifice is a slave. Society- Our tribe, while does acknowledge gender, is equal in the type of work and amount of work a person does. Both men and women fight and hunt. Anyone's word was weight in our tribe through the I will always have the final say. Only my bloodline can lead unless I myself announce a different heir with the whole tribe present. Slaves in our society are beneath us. They exist only to serve our people. Slaves are identified by wearing nothing but undergarments. They either have to cover their hair with a scarf or shave it off. If our people are pulled into war, everyone in the tribe shall fight. Young able bodied people will fight with melee weapons while elderly and children fight using distanced weapons (I know their arent kids in the game this is simply rp) Accepting new members- People that come to us willing to join our tribe must prove their worth to us. They must also offer something of value to me. Trading- Trading is permitted though everyone in the tribe shall benefit from it if you use the tribe's resources to trade. If you use your own stuff to trade you get to keep what you traded for. While there is no tax, everyone contributes to our survival. Whether it be hunting, fighting off outsiders, trading for the tribe, cooking, everyone contributes or they leave. Trading takes place away from our community. If needed, go to the city to trade. Location- We live with nature on the Island. We stay in the forest and hills but are rather nomadic as we don't stay in one place now that we are unified. We basically just go wherever. Raiding- we will frequently go on raiding parties. Only the strongest and bravest go. During the raids, we pick easy targets. Main targets are stopped cars at night. Sometimes we will venture into the cities to raid. Make sure no one follows you back. Any hikers we come across are either enslaved or swiftly killed. Other than there being a leader (me) every other tribe member is equal. Pm me if you are interested in joining the Ruomunda. A proud people.

1 pointIn regards to 2017, months have felt like minutes. 03/21/18 will be here before we know it. Be patient guys, I think all this waiting will be quite rewarding. Besides, I think everyone is expecting the town square module to be released with a minimal amount of disappointments and need for change. Giving them this time will ensure that. It has been nice to see the identity staff grow - and can only help to speed up the official release of identity..
-
1 pointNope! Unless you own your own firearm as a civilian. Keep in mind any weapon you carry will be visible to everyone and you need a gun license in order for it to not get taken away if a police officer stops you.

1 pointHi there, I have a question on whether there would be offline line mode for this game? I have heard people saying there is an offline option an some say no, i know this is MMORPG, but still it would be great if there would be offline mode.
-
1 pointModule one has been in the works for 3 years but only because it had to be re-done 2 times over. Module 2 is going to be quicker than module 1 and 3 but Beta will not come until after the 3 modules are completed. After that Full Release will come. I am sure there is at least a year in my opinion like arya said. You are both right in a way. After the "Town Square" the next modules after will have sped up in development as due to a bigger dev team and because the TS module is the core. Just remember we have to wait and see how long it will be.

1 pointAs the Island goes to sleep after the rain fall from earlier in the day, the man walks down the long road to the Asylum. Heavy security for something as simple as a mental institution? The man knew something had happened and it was just his luck. As he sneaks past the orderly’s he enters the building through a grate on the side of the building. He snuck into the main office of the warden at the facility. Hopefully he was still there. As he opened the door slowly he noticed nobody was in the room. The man looked around silently and placed his gun on the table. Then for the next several hours he stood in the corner awaiting the arrival of the warden. After what seemed like three hours the sun was finally rising to the sound of workers leaving for the end of their shift. The man was still awaiting the warden to enter his office when suddenly the door opened. Unfortunately it wasn’t just the warden. He brought along one of the doctors with him. “Why the hell is there a gun on my table?” The warden picked it up as the man grabbed the doctor and knocked her out. The warden, stunned and shocked, backed away from the man. Trying to hide the gun while acting afraid. ”Another one? Jesus how many of you people are there?” The man stands quietly as the warden aims the gun at him. The man looks surprised and afraid while kneeling to the ground. ”Please! I’m sorry!” ”Oh yeah? Now you’re sorry. Now that I’m gonna have the upper hand.” ”Please I was just trying to find someone. Don’t kill me!” ”Who?” ”White Mask. I was told to try and find him and kill him.” ”Who would pay to have that man killed? It’s not worth the risk.” ”Gene Smith. He wanted him dead for never returning a call or something.” ”Well he escaped. Gone with a couple bodies lying dead. Nobody knows where he went.” ”Damn! I should’ve never taken this job!” ”That’s an understatement.” The warden pulls the trigger only to hear the click of an empty gun. The man looks up at the warden. ”I thought you were supposed to help crazies, not kill them.” The man pulls his hair back. ”I’m supposed to treat them!” The warden throws the gun at the man and reaches for his knife. The man grabs his arm and snaps it backwards before covering his mouth. He leans to his ear. ”Put me on the list of another problem. Call me Wanderer.” Wanderer throws the warden into the wall before jumping out of the window. It was time to be reacquainted with an old friend.

1 pointHey there, you pledged $30 for the full game pre_order, beta and module access. We have the date for the first module (TownSquare) which is 21st March 2018. There are 3 modules all together, they are Alpha stages, the beta is after all 3 modules which will be the closest to the full game. TownSquare is just a social module, the second module is the s.w.a.t. Module which consists of competitive gameplay. The third and final module is the Racing module which includes racing, car mechanics, car tuning etc. Beta will consist of most if not all the map, however remember the 3 modules will be small parts of the game and will be closed off to certain areas. Please have a look at the 2 FAQ’s and also do more research on the forum. Have a lovely day and I hope this helps.

1 pointHey fellow Identity people, I've been watching for about a year the limited videos I could find on youtube. Eventually I thought I'd better finally sign up, to gain all the information I can about what looks to be one of the best games. Hope to see a few of you around as I become more active on this forum.

1 pointI think it would add to the realism if we had car dealers specializing in different types of car

1 pointAm I the only person who thinks this deep? I am new to PC, since March, and since I jumped to PC Gaming, I've noticed alot of complaining about console games bringing down PC game quality, which is not true, mostly because consoles get their specs tweaked till they squeeze out every bit of performance they can. PC's on the other hand have so many components, and there's more coming out all the time. So it's longer process to optimize for games on so many parts. We get most games for $60 on console whether they are good or not, worth it or not. They are also made by Triple-A studios with hundreds or even thousands of employees working on 1 game. PC gamers have the unique opportunity to help these games that can really set PC gaming apart from console gaming. I hear alot of people bragging about how little they spent to get the game and/or modules. If you guys really want to see this game come to life... Think about the sheer scale they are attempting to make Identity, with a way smaller team than that which created Gta V, and I feel it's WAY more than 2x the game of Gta V. They are relying on the perspective players for support, they are gonna need millions of dollars to make this dream come true...I played on consoles for 30+ years. I bought a HEDT, just so I could play Identity. I dropped 250(money I set aside for some games when I got my rig) I pledged based on what I think its goin to need from people, based on sheer size. If we get lots of people to pledge 100 or higher this game will move alot faster...cause we ALL know money makes the world go round. It sucks but it does. I've also recently pledged 75 to another game that's in development. It's a much smaller game and doesn't require as much support as I believe Identity will. Unless they bring in outside help, then us gamers will lose alot of our power to help mold it, as whoever keeps the lights on usually gets their opinion heard. Right now they can truly make the game WE want them to make, but if they don't get the support they need from us, they will have no choice but to seek outside help and give ip alot of say to a new partner, or call it quits...So I say buy less junk food, or one or 2 less games, or don't buy those snazzy new kicks yet. Save up and help as much as you can to see it become real. Not as lil as possible so you can still get in on early beta and get the game. I think a game of this scale and what it can do for PC gaming and the MMORPG genre, deserves better than bare minimum, and it need more than that from us...but that's just me, and my 25 cents...

1 pointHello all fellow officers, I just wanted to bring up the amount of people running for political offices, who's elected really effects us including funding, gear, pay, and laws. I would love to see people running for office to come here and pitch to us along with the citizens. I know we all have very important questions and the ones running for office should come to us for their election pitch along with questions from us. As public servants our pay isn't bumped by business kick backs and such, we generally never get a bonus, and our hours are long dangerous and hard. Speak up fellow officers and let these incoming politicians know me won't be silent. Below is an Example of what I am talking about:

1 pointAt the end of the day I'm not going to be going anywhere near these clothes but I don't want to spoil others dreams by not having it in if you at where I'm coming from

1 pointFor the Police: The police truck above could be used for example when the police want to set up traffic controls, when they need to block the road etc.. Fire department: The car is for the fire chief. Or if we don't want to give new firefighters a fire engine we could give them the car.
