Here is a summary of what was discussed on the Dev stream this Tuesday, remember most of these things are open to changes: Town square will be updated periodically to add/test features. Housing: In the game, hotels will be free (they are very small and technically are not yours). In Town square, all will start with a free, small studio apartment but If you pledged a package with a larger apartment you will receive that apartment, with infinite money to test the customisation. In Town Square there are not any apartment buildings yet, so all apartments will be in the hotel in the town square ("yes this is weird but its how things will at the the very start"). Upkeep fee for houses will not be too frequent as the devs don't want you to have to log in every week just to keep your house, so monthly payments should do (open to change). You can buy PC's for your houses and there will be internet cafe's with them in, such as in Town Square (will not be open at first Town Square launch) and the computers can do quite a bit (e.g. surf the web/watch twitch). Houses/apartments will be separate instances as they are so detailed, loading everyone's apartments by looking in would be far too PC-demanding. You also can not see the world in real time out of your apartment windows. Housing isn't like houses in GTA V in the terms that housing in GTA is useless, whereas in Identity it will have a purpose - you can store items you collect (such as guns) and extreme customisation/furniture moving will take place. Your area can also be used as an HQ for good RP. There may be microtransactions for certain wallpapers/furniture The Stress System is the games anti-RDM (random deathmatch = randomly killing people for no reason) system. What happens is everyone has a stress level, and if you stress is low, you take less damage, and high, you take normal damage. When you pull out a gun, you instantly get high stress, and when one is aimed at you or you are near a fight, your stress will slowly rise. This helps you to fight back and try and get the advantage on a gunman by using the stress system to your advantage. Murder will be automatically reported and the murderer will be wanted immediately as the devs said: "the game would become the wild west, which is not the kind of gameplay we want." Other crimes will need witnesses and a phone call to report. Health: In Identity, you do not NEED to eat and drink, but if you do not you will get "de-buffs" such as being slower or worse vision, but you can't actually die from it. There will be diseases later on (to a small extent) which can spread. Medical System/911 EMS: This will have some detail to it, with leg shots being different to arm shots and so each needs different treatment. People who sign up to be a doctor/paramedic must watch a video showing how to deal with all this (slideshows ect...). How well a paramedic knows how to deal with different injuries effectively will split the good ones from the bad ones. There will be certain safe zones where you are safe from getting killed by people (Town Square may be an example). Certain buildings will have metal detectors that when you walk through, they take your gun, and when you walk back out they give it back to you. In jobs such as police, you will progress by doing your job and gaining XP to a point where you can choose accept a promotion when you have enough XP. In community servers, the owners can change the progression system to one where the Chief picks ranks and people manually promote others. On official servers, you can see floating names above peoples heads. Community servers can disable this or make it so you have to interact with someone (for example /wave at them) to then recognise them permanently and always see their name. Server-Size: 300- 500 Players. It was initially 300, but with SpacialOS, 300 will be easy to achieve so they may boost this up. All official servers will have the same size in terms of player cap. There will not be rules such as NLR and RDM on the official servers. Governors are called that and not mayors as their control will be island-wide and not local. There will not be lower level power positions to avoid diluting the governor's power. Governors will have a lot of power as the point of the game is that it is player run, separating it from others. Governors will not have so much however that they can take away peoples fun. Governors can change taxes and legality, for example. Governors can take cuts from taxes to "pad their pockets." This will mean they can add high taxes if they are corrupt but will likely not be elected again. Governors and businesses can advertise through billboards, which are automatic and governors can pay with their campaign money, and the more you pay, the more visible to more people your ad is. Gangs: There will be a gang system, such as making a guild in MMO's. Gangs will have ranks and even HQ's which can be someone's house where all gang members have access or a shop a gang member owns. In Town square, there will not be a gang system YET, but there will be a friends contact on your phones and you can easily roleplay your gang, to begin with. You can have biker gangs, as there are Bikes (such as the ones in the pledges) and leather jackets. You can put insignias on your clothes to show off your gang. There won't be designated gang categories, such as Biker gang or Mafia, but you can Roleplay your gang to be any type you want. There will, however, be areas of the map designed for specific sub-cultures, such as bars that are Biker themed, such as Biker Club Bars. A player can always buy a bar, make it a Biker Club / Bar and make it the HQ of their Biker Gang, or the same with a Mafia gang, etc... Gameplay videos have taken so long as they NEED to make a good first impression. Remember, these videos could cause more harm than good if they are not good enough, as people base their thoughts of the game off first impressions. Hopefully town square gameplay in quite near future. Skillform (their flash interface) stopped getting supported so they had to remake a lot of things, which caused a delay. On the bright side, UI is faster to make with their new system than it was with Skillform. Town Square has most things operational, they just need good UI and then they can start shooting out constant gameplay videos for us. Cops: Police can not arrest you unless you have done something wrong, so you have to be guilty to be vulnerable to the police (this will stop abuse). In the words of the devs, "if a cop is stalking you, run around a corner, get a gun out and shoot him. He can't follow you if he is dead." Cops have to take people to Jail - Jail will be 45 mins max and there will be things to do in jail (gang stuff, craft shank knives, ect...). There will be police motorcycles. You don't need a job to earn money, you can do your own thing, such as get a pickaxe and go to a mine, cut trees and sell wood, pick apples, make drugs, etc... Weed: CAN be grown in House with hydroponics cable, but this will make very little so only useful for a... personal supply. To make real money, go out to fields or make some in a garden. Car Mechanics: Will be realistic, so crashing will have serious impacts on your car. "Broken wheels will be a big problem at first while people learn to drive safely." You can own as many vehicles as you have garage space. You can own multiple garages across the map. There are systems to check on your companies to see how well it is doing such as on a laptop. Workers for a company are not paid by salary, but when they do an interaction that would earn money, they get money and the company takes a cut. Plans for other language communities: There will be no official communities outside their own current one as they cant have others managing something with their names on it. There will be different forums for other languages further down the road and the will have as many languages as possible added later on. To begin with, only English as they need to make it work well locally first. Minigames in Town Square: The devs have stated they are "Working them in as we go". Checkers and chess weren't originally on the scope for Town square, but they have been "tinkering" with them so it is a likely possibility. On release, they are most probably going to be a public chess board in Town Square. Paintball will be added as a minigame later on and will be a Team Deathmatch game with physically accurate paintballs. They hope to possibly add other small minigames (for example snakes and ladders, connect 4?). Other people can watch the games such as chess from 3rd person to see how the game is going. There are no rules on the chess board, as in you can only move a piece here: players are given the board and can do what they want.

Marie-Clare Bouchard For Governor! I am officially throwing my hat into the ring for the role of governor! I am the official party nominee for the Français National and I am calling on all party members to vote for me! All other citizens in other parties are also welcomed to vote for me too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Healthcare: I believe that citizens should have the choice to pay for a universal healthcare. If you want universal health care you will pay a flat charge of an estimated $500 per real life day. Paying the $500 will entitle you to free healthcare for that entire day, once the day is over then you must pay another $500 if you want to continue on with universal health care. Abusing this system force you to pay a fine of up to $15,000, if you refuse to pay you will be banned from being able to receive universal health care. Please keep in mind that the costs and times you must pay the charge may change when we know more about times and incomes in Identity. I believe in large funding for the public hospital system as it is much more affordable for most citizens in Identity. I would also like to introduce the new role of Minister Of Health. This role will be offered by me to a politician who has some experience with the health care and knows how to run a good healthcare system. This role will not have any income, it is just a massive help to a politicians career and will give them a lot of positive publicity. Law Enforcement: I am strongly pro-police. If elected I will introduce the role of Police Commissioner. The Police Commissioner will run all police related business and issues. Again this role will not offer any additional pay, and you will receive a normal police officers wage, it is an honor to receive this job as it is regarded as the best job in the law enforcement occupation. Fire Related Issues: The Fire Department will not receive as much funding as the police or the healthcare system, as fires are not predicted to be that common. We will give out the basic needs for a working fire department, a few fire stations scattered around the map, plenty of fire trucks, wages for the firemen and women and of course a banquet dinner in the name of the cities fire department will be held while I am working in my term. Terrorism: I will give special funding to the police for to fight terrorism in the city and will set up an anti-terrorism force within the police department. I will touch on this subject in more detail in the religion portion of my manifesto. Religion:I am a Christian and want Christians of all types, Protestants, Orthodox and Catholics to be able to exercise their religion freely and if it is in the game, I want Christians to be able to go to church. I also support the religious freedom of, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and Atheists. Other small religions like, Scientology are allowed to express their religion freely. On the topic of Islam, I will put in place a complete and utter ban on Burqas. Any other face masks must be removed if you are asked to remove them by the police. That goes for all religions. I am willing to hold a public vote on the topic of Burqas if wanted by the public. If Islamic terrorism finds its way into the city and a terrorist attack takes place, then a stricter ban will be put in place by me. Other than that Muslims will be allowed to practice their religion freely. I do not in any way want to ban Islam, and the government will stay out of religion if I am in charge. LGBT+:LGBT+ rights will be fully supported by the government and I will allow all LGBT+ marriage and adoption. Voting: All citizens will have the right to vote in elections and referendums. Death Penalty:Death penalty will only be used on terrorists in extreme cases. If someone commits a terrorist attack, is involved in a terrorist attacking, plotted or is plotting a terrorist attack, etc, then they will receive the death penalty. Drug Usage: Alcohol, tobacco and prescription medicine will be the only legal drugs allowed if I am elected. Marijuana will be banned, however we will not go after a marijuana company as long as they publicly announce that their company is shutting down. If this decision upsets our citizens, I may hold a referendum on the topic. Welfare:A job seekers tax cut will be available to all unemployed players for 3 real life days, there will be no welfare for players to receive. Tax: I believe in a flat 12%, however there will be tax cuts for players, some examples are, job seekers tax cut, single parent tax cut, etc. If you vote for me you can be assured of a safer, cleaner and better Identity! If you have any queries about my campaign fell free to reply to this article. "Vote Marie-Clare Bouchard, For A Safer Identity".

Hey guys, I'm going to be starting up an Oceanic (Australia & New Zealand) Identity based whitelisted community (Signing up to our Website and joining our Discord will be available to everyone). Obviously we won't have a server until they allow for them to be rented, but we would rather have a community setup and ready to go. This community is for the Semi-Serious - Serious Roleplayers. How old do I have to be? 16 or above, we want to keep it "mature". (This restriction will not be lifted, under any circumstance) What we will have: A Whitelisted Server (Troll free) Whitelisted Emergency Services (Police, Paramedics, Firefighters... this is to stop major corruption) Roleplay based rules (RDM/VDM will be monitored unlike official servers) Active and professional moderation team (You may apply for a position and you will be trialed. We will require team members before server release) Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask me, I will gladly answer. Feel free to join our Discord for direct answers. Discord: https://discord.gg/cwZ2d4N (If for whatever reason, this link doesn't work. Let me know) Website: Currently in development. (Should be released very shortly!)

So I've been wondering, if you've committed a crime surely if police can't come into your apartment all you have to do is just... go there. Can police breach doors of apartments/houses? Does furniture have physics? Can furniture be used to barricade houses? Are there specific barricades that can be used (that'd be cool) e.g. wooden boards.

    1. No and also if you are wanted then you cannot enter an apartment/ house! 2. Like what? falling? 3. No as no one can rob your house/ apartment and that also means no Police can raid houses. Overall Like in GTA when wanted, you cannot enter such place's to avoid the cops. You cannot enter an apartment/ house without the owners permission to do so.

We believe in free markets. Meaning there is no limit to your success or failure. If your business goes under, it goes under. If you are participating in our program we will do our best to advertise your business to the masses, but ultimately your success or failure is entirely in your own hands.

I don't know about wheel chairs and stuff but I believe there will be limb damage with certain affects. I can't remember but I think broken arms will affect your aiming. Broken legs will affect your movement speed. I can't remember though, don't take this as fact.

What are you talking about? We're speaking within the confines of the GAME, which has an inherently capitalist economy with a backbone of small business. You can't just take away the ability for people to create a business, because that's an integral part of the game mechanics. Your argument should not be whether communism is applicable to the real world, but rather if it is AT ALL possible in this game, which it isn't. Being a Governor does not give you the power to change the mechanics of the game, no matter how hard you RP.
  23. 1 point
No you don't need mental health services or counseling your beyond that you need Jesus and the love of a caring parent. But you make a good point there should be an actual asylum in game for characters to plead insanity.

Your logic makes absolutely zero sense. It's not the workers that take the risk of creating a start-up, putting the money up-front to support and fund an idea that can potentially make a lot of money. This idea that the workers should be given an equal distribution for taking a ridiculously smaller risk is going to kill innovation, and the motivation to create something new and revolutionary. This is where Capitalism is an actively better system of economics in which people can thrive on their own accord, with the will to be successful in a free and open market.

Business owners have the long term goal of having their business run by other people while they collect the profits because it is THIER business. Their employees didn't put up the funding money, didn't start from the bottom. They were hired on and paid to do their job, they shouldn't just be given all the profits to someone elses business.

If it wasn't for those CEOs no one would have a job. We're not going to take from the entrepreneurs and give to people who won't do for themselves.

I am not "looking" for any outburst. I would probably go as far to say that I probably would have had a similar reaction as he did if I was removed from the polls, no matter the reasoning. He had voters. He should have never been removed. It's as simple as that. However, what I would not have done, is directly called someone insane because they are role playing an animal. Privately, perhaps I would, but publicly it seems to be more of a direct attack. I will acknowledge you you did at least address the name calling in your response above. Though I may not understand it (or even agree with it), I don't see the harm in a person role playing a lion being the Governor as long as their policies are fair and can maintain order and balance in a way that everyone agrees with. The real question I'd be asking myself in your position is, "How is a pretend lion beating me so badly in the polls?" It seems the people would rather have Simba's brother in office rather than you. Rather interesting isn't it?
  28. 1 point
Perhaps the ever increasing gap in the polls is stressing him out. Maybe he should be removed from the polls and not be taken seriously with that kind of behavior! With these kinds of outbursts, what can we expect with him in office?
  29. 1 point
This shows how incredibly unprofessional you are as a candidate. You mention that he doesn't understand how the system works and that he criticizes blindly, but provide nothing to back these statements up. What system is it that he doesnt understand? The non-existent healthcare system? I think his criticism was very poorly conveyed, however I have no trouble in seeing what it is he is saying and so one could argue you are the one being blind. So, as a member of this community who may be harder to criticise because I am not new, let me provide some real criticisms about your "healthcare" plan. First of all, how can you chose to pay for a universal healthcare on a day to day basis? I doubt someone get's out of bed saying "I need to pay $500 to the government because I plan on breaking my leg later!". What if you pay the $500 and don't use it? Does it carry on to the next day? If I pay it one day but don't need medical help until the next day, do I need to pay it again? There are too many holes in this plan. Healthcare cannot be in place for some people but not for others. I also don't know how you can claim it is universal healthcare when it is only available to people who pay. Next, what are your estimates based on? Because I am 100% sure the developers have stated multiple times that money-making will be similar to that of real life, so anyone who can afford to pay $500 per day can afford private healthcare. If you were to educate yourself on how the system works before criticising others for the same thing, I think your little campaign would go a lot smoother. Assuming a system like the one you propose did work (highly unlikely), how would it be abused? Someone pays the fee and doesn't take the healthcare? Someone doesn't pay but takes the healthcare anyway? Why would you give it to someone who hasn't paid? This statement seems redundant. Regarded by who? Yourself? I fail to see how a banquet dinner is categorised as a "basic need". It seems to me like you will use public tax dollars to feed yourself and other members of government, while making people pay $500 per day for healthcare. Why? To prevent terrorism? I understand why politicians in real life would want to ban Burqas, and while I disagree with it, I see the argument. However I find myself asking this question, how many muslims are going to be playing Identity? Probably quite a few, but not nearly as much as atheists or Christians. I would say that in the US and UK servers, the vast majority, if not all of the terrorist attacks will be carried out by atheists or Christians, not Muslims, and even though some Muslims will play in these countries, I doubt many of them support terrorism. This law helps no one. Looking at all of the points I have raised, can you seriously claim this is a correct statement? Usually I would not be this aggressive, however you have insulted the very people who are voting for you by completely ignoring someones criticisms and belittling them for your own ego. Well, Mr PoorLaVie, I cannot wait to see you respond to a well-written and thoroughly revised list of criticisms. Good luck.

It would work. Realistically the same person or people with similar policies would win for a few weeks in a row. Then the trend might change. The problem with giving absolute rights is that you can never change your decision. We shouldn't make such a huge commitment before the game is even out.
  32. 1 point
I don't think we should have a right to bear arms. I think it should be a choice for the governor not a right. As a wise man once said, "You are entitled to nothing."

I like to stick to the official server, plus it is better to keep the community together and not segregated even when "region areas" are different.
