The time draws near! In the last dev blog I sent out, I mentioned that we were going to announce the release date for our first playable game module, the Town Square. Those of you who follow our Twitter and Twitch streams will have already learned this date. It's a very exciting and important time for Identity; we're fast approaching the time where you'll first step foot in Identity's grand world. We've crunched all the numbers and can now say with fair confidence that the Identity Town Square module will be released, to all backers with a $30 or higher pledge, on this coming March 21st. What will you find in the Town Square? The Town Square is a social game module. You'll be able to create your character, which may be transferable to the retail game after release, and meet hundreds of other Identity backers in the town square of the clean and quaint city of Ash Hill. You'll be able to talk to those around you, add them to your phone contacts and have full phone and IM support to stay in touch. You'll find a completely functional cinema playing full movies around the clock, a karaoke bar to show off your skills (or see me making a fool of myself), a working restaurant, art gallery, shops and more. The biggest single feature is the housing system. You're getting a taste of the full and complete player housing mechanics that you'll find in Identity. Everyone will have access to a tiny apartment, but those who pledged for higher rewards will be able to check out and decorate their larger spaces. It's a preview of what you'll have in the full game. Invite friends to your place and party it up! After the initial release of the module, we'll continue to add features to the Town Square as they are completed in development for Identity. Barbershops and tattoo parlors will let you customize your character further. A garage will let you sample your vehicles. You'll even get to test your ability with firearms in the police shooting range before the SWAT module is released. For me, one of the most exciting parts of Town Square is just to get inside the game and finally get a feel for Identity and how it plays. Check out a few of the Town Square work-in-progress shots we've released in the past. It's been a long road for the development team here at Asylum, but we're almost there! Flexing our new manpower Productivity has skyrocketed with our new office. We're working better and there are now many more of us knocking out code and assets each day. Our programming team has expanded with Charles and we're still hiring more. We've brought three new and incredibly talented 3D artists on board as well as a new technical artist. Brandon, our new Community Manager, has been hard at work keeping you in the loop. These guys are all proving their worth each day and I'm extremely excited about where Asylum is going. Looking to the future With some of our Town Square art wrapping up now, we're beginning to shift a bit of our focus to the second module: SWAT. The SWAT module will be a team vs team competitive shooter using the combat mechanics you'll find in the full Identity release. Expect combat to be slower and more realistic than most similar games. The meth shootout video was delayed because one of the developers working on it got very ill. He’s recovering now and the video is back in production. As far as the Town Square video, it will be before the modules release but probably early next year.

Citizens earning less than $167,493 per year will be subject to a tax of a generous 80% minimum. I'm not too sure if these types of things are already planned for the game already but if they are I would love some clarification on these details possibly being in the game. 1. Gas stations with working pumps to were you can actually grab the pump to fill your gas tank ( Just to add that extra detail of realism you don't get in games) 2. Restaurants that are RP based Ex. Being a chef / waiter waiting on other players. [ Small details not just for restaurants but all jobs would really make a huge impact for this game!] 3. Working Stock market effected by the world. Ex. Stocks for specific business drop if the business owner is murdered / the building is raided ect. FOR COMBAT 4. Bleed out system as well as bullet decals in the correct spot you were shot. Ex. Shot in leg causing a limp and bleeding effect at point of impact with a bullet wound as well as constant decline in health until treated with bandage etc. {This is something I find very necessary for this type of game especially for the realism this game is wanting to deliver for RP'rs, it would also improve EMS jobs and encourage players to partake in that field much more. 5. A detailed wounded system. As an example, something like what Escape from Tarkov has done with its combat system with different conditions depending on where you are shot. Not just bleed out like most games. Ex. Gut shot causing internal bleeding not fixed by just bandaging/Head shot causing concussions as well as other things depending on the severity. Bottom line is really am looking forward to this game and I hope some of these things are considered at least a smidge for the final version released, Already backed it on the website and even thinking of upgrading my version to help out even more. But most importantly it's not so much these things go in the game but please take note that its small details like this that make a game that much better and really separate if from whats out there already (even though its doing that already) hence why its gotten the attention it deserves. Please let me know what you think of my ideas, I'd love to know and would love to help with development anyway possible. Keep up the great work and can't wait!

What are you talking about? We're speaking within the confines of the GAME, which has an inherently capitalist economy with a backbone of small business. You can't just take away the ability for people to create a business, because that's an integral part of the game mechanics. Your argument should not be whether communism is applicable to the real world, but rather if it is AT ALL possible in this game, which it isn't. Being a Governor does not give you the power to change the mechanics of the game, no matter how hard you RP.

Well you clearly didn’t read my post, Lucious is struggling, hard to see him go much further in this truly difficult world of politics!

It is entirely possible If you look at the screenshots at the link below, there are lots of clothes being added, and customisation will be a really big thing in identity.

I think with Identity they will want to get the publicity to show it is finally out, and to gain more money from orders to help them expand

There are no unmarked cars in the game but it could be added in the far future.

Those who are capable with the will to succeed always make it one way or another. Not this bullshit where "everyone gets a even slice of the pie". If the beta looks like shit then it makes sense. If it's a buggy mess you may want to keep it under wraps.

Thanks for your comment, but are you trying to convince me or to convince yourself that they will not fail again with the release date and that if they do it is for a good and reasonable reason which will be for the better? They may retract a bit and accept it, but they should not promise things they can not fulfill. But it is good we will see what happens in March 2018 and if the project is as promised but I know that even if the game does not come out or leave with problems, they will continue supporting it like a flock of sheep. Be careful with blind faith.

Hello there! My name is Cayn and I'm a big fan of Identity since their Kickstarter. Following all their progress since then. I've worked on several (gaming-) projects before and now I'm super excited to join the moderation part of this amazing project! As many others here, I just love gaming and the community of it since I was a child. From SNES to Current Gen, it's just pure fun since then. I think what a lot of people forget is that when the game was announced there was basically nothing but ideas, development started soon after building it up from scratch (which is why the first module has been taking so long.) Not only that, but the Town Square has been redone SEVERAL times, if you look at the TS page under the "About" tab, those are very old pictures of what it used to look like.

Well, there are about 3 hours of day and 1 hour of night time in the game. The time in game passes by an estimate of 1 minute every 6 seconds in real life (mathematics!) so.. to drive 60 miles in a minute... It just wouldn't work.

You only get what is in the upgraded package, you do not receive lets say you go from motorist to biker, you will not get both only the one you upgraded to.

Hey Oskar, upgrading now is a great idea as later prices will go up and you won't be able to get things like cars with the packages when the new shop comes out with Town Square. About your questions, you will only get he bike and not the car when you upgrade and you will only get 1000, not an extra 1000. Hope I answered your questions

Riding for what seems like an hour he eventually takes a detour across the windy backroads and towards the southern swampy area. As he slowly rides down a dirt road he stops at a small shack, surrounded by several other choppers and bikes. He hops off his bike, lights a lucky and slowly walks towards the shack making sure he slip on loose stone. He pulls the door open and is greeted by fellow members of his club. "Micky, what a pleasant surprise" Ryan say as he gives him a hug "So, boys. What's the deal with today" Micky says as he takes off his riding glasses and puts on his hippie glasses "Head over to the bayou, pick up the shipment and bring it back here to be buried" The member says "Easy, let's go" Micky says as he turns around. Everybody hops on their bikes and rides to the bayou, an only 5 minute ride from their shack. All stop in unison, hop off. The prospect stays with the bikes as four patch members walk down a steep hill towards a small fishing boat parked along the swamp's edge. The boat has a small tarp on the back, covered with fishing poles, tackle boxes and dead fish. A man clears the debris from the tarp and unravels it exposing 7 medium sized bricks of cocaine. "Just the men I'm looking for" The man says as he nods at the club men. He steps of the boat and approaches the club men. "Great" Ryan walks past the man, opens a switchblade from his pocket, stabs the brick and snorts a small amount. He looks at Micky and nods his head. Micky looks the man dead in the eye. "Barbara.... remember her Jack?" Ryan walks behind the man while putting black leather gloves on, he puts his blade up to his neck slitting his throat. The fellow club members watch together as his body falls to the ground. Micky walks towards Jacks motionless body and steadily moves his head with his boot revealing the other side of his face. Micky looks at Ryan and nods his head confirming his death. Together they roll his body into the muck water. They ride away and leave the cocaine, making it look as a gone wrong drug deal.

I work on an ARMA 3 combat mod, the latest update has taken over a year, and that's just a MOD. Topics like this are counter productive, everyone here is well aware that Asylum have made many PR mistakes, but seriously, it's time to move on already.
